Hey mash very jealous at being Leeds - how I miss Whitelocks - not that I could enjoy it completely :)

I really like Boots range of clothes at the moment - gorgeous colour alternatives and may still be on the 3 for 2?

I really feel for all you ladies how aren't sleeping. NOTE - I am not complaining here - but I have the opposite problem, I can't stay awake. I went to sleep at c9pm last night (on sofa) OH woke me at 1am - he is painting garage so didn't know I was asleep. I crawled to bed had a wee at 5am straight back to sleep. Woke up at 8 caught up here ate breakfast then fell asleep, woke about half 2 - now showered. STILL TIREDY CUSTARD!

Iron and hydration levels I think are fine - I have energy when I am awake it is like I want to sleep and can't motivate myself to do anything else. It's crap - so much to do.

Best of luck Cali I'm sure it will be fine.

voodoomunkee · 18/09/2011 15:19

Start again!
Good luck Cali, hope all is well.
Am going to make an appointments at the docs next week re this heartburn/reflux thing. It's really really getting me down and am starting to panic about what am going to eat and getting upset. Clearly not a good thing.

cep · 18/09/2011 18:07

just hope ds gets better soon. i automatically start retching when someone is sick.

caz can certainly understand your fears, you're doing really well. As i said earlier just make sure your consultant knows what you want.

voodoo yay on buggy car seat etc.

cali hope visit to mw went well.

i am absolutely exhausted, i have good and bad nights at the moment, i get nights (most nights) i have to wake up to turn over i could just do with a morning where i don't have to get up for ds.

sorry if i've missed anyone

pandia · 18/09/2011 18:08

voodoo & cali interested and I must say kind of relieved to hear you both saying today that you are both kind of over pregnancy and would like a bit of a break (much as we want bubbas to stay in and grow). I thought I might be the only one thinking that. I too am part of the 4am wake up group - it's like an alarm is set and bang on 4 I wake up every morning, lie there trying to pretend I will go back to sleep, then eventually read and pace around the house. DH and I now even in separate bedrooms because I am sleeping so badly. In the early hours this morning I did have a few tears and wish that my body could feel like it did before pregnancy - and then felt guilty for even thinking that.

PMA - Downtown Abbey back for Sunday night cosying up!

pandia · 18/09/2011 18:09

ps cali hope all goes well with checking up and monitoring - it's definitely better to get checked out.

Tjuice · 18/09/2011 18:57

well, that must be one of the dullest weekends ever! I didn't even leave the apartment.
Today I made bbq pork and beans in the slow cooker - getting into it! Its absolutely huge so meals last for days and usually freeze loads to.

The only exciting news I got was that my parents are going to buy us a Christiania bike, which is the best form of kid transport for city center residents in Copenhagen. www.christianiabikes.com/.
We currently have a cheaper version and it was a false economy and is falling to bits. I never use it as its so heavy - instead I bike around on a lady bike with 19 kilo daughter on back, groceries and laptop in my basket in front and my 88 kilo self with dodgy center of balance in the middle. Not sure if I can do it for much longer, quite frankly.
Oh and I skyped with my friend in the US who has a new job where she can get lovely designer clothes including Louboutins for less than 100 pounds. I was excited for about a millisecond then realised that those days are so OVER.

good luck cali - hope all is well.

sunshinehugs · 18/09/2011 19:16

Good luck with it Cali - hope all goes well. I have been worrying myself silly with movements, I don't seem to have any pattern and have always gone from active to quiet to active over days. Have been monitored and everything was OK, but I have never had 10 kicks in 30mins let alone 10 Confused. Here we are advised not to count kicks but that anything that is different from your normal. x

voodoomunkee · 18/09/2011 19:31

Yes I am SO over the heartburn and the insane hormones and the tiredness and lack of sleeping, the fact that I am a moody hormonal biatch and that I havent worn jeans since March!

I have spent the whole day on n off trying to organise my thoughts and order the weeks shopping. Have now given in. After moody, irrational, hormonal 10 year old dd shouted at me for not being able to cut her pizza up I decided that enough was enough! I cant even eat anything without it causing me physical pain so am probably not the person to do the shopping! Instead I am going to send my man sized teenager into the loft to retrieve some baby stuff and some stuff for ebay and set the moses basket up.

Hope everyones ok :)

juststarting · 18/09/2011 19:51

So, no more dramas over night here, but by the time I stopped shaking I had used every last calorie in my body and was exhausted, but still to anxious to sleep. However. Am anxious again tonight has DS has refused APPLE CRUMBLE! For the first time ever! But we have been out all day and he's been a bit whiney, but ok. Tired now. Fanny hurts, feet hurt, bloated and digestively uncomfortable and I do NOT want to go to work tomorrow.
However. Eugh, this phobia is awful. it causes me anxiety every day as I constantly think a stomach bug is round the corner. And makes pregnancy a very anxious time as I am sure you can imagine. Just had thre emonths therapy for it to no avail. Fourth attempt too.
Heartburn wise, I have had heartburn problems for years - there are now quite a lot of foods I avoid (same foods, a lot of them, that giveme migraines) so that might be worth looking into as some of them are qutie unexpected. Like mint, and chocolate and cucumber, not just the obvious ones like spicey food or onions or stuff. But also I was told to sit upright, but actually, for my body, a half recline is better. I also sleep on at LEAST four pillows even when not pregnant.
Sure I had other stuff to say. But apparently my dinner is ready.

Caliphora · 18/09/2011 21:19

Back - with a scan booked in this week to make sure everything is hunky dory with Sprout. Heartbeat a bit sleepy at first but perked up to 18+ when they fed me sugar...

I'm tired and wan now - just want to fall over in a heap.

NotJustKangaskhan · 18/09/2011 21:25

Tjuice Lovely about the new bike! What kind of bike do you currently have? I'm currently droolingover contemplating a Cangoo, but worry that it falls into the false economy cheap as it is slightly lower than most cargo bikes, but I love the four seats.

Anyone else playing guess that body part? I thought with this being my fourth I'd have slight confidence in my guesses, but currently I just have this big bulge above my belly button and not the foggiest. It doesn't help that everyone thought DD1 was breech (even the person doing the scan as she felt my belly to find where to begin) and turned out that she just had a really bony butt Grin.

Merlioness · 19/09/2011 03:30

sunshine that is what I was trying to get at. Bubbas are all different. Monitor for something that is not normal for yours rather than rigidly counting kicks and panicking yourself.

Cali glad all is well and a scan can't be a bad thing :)

Not I am trying to figure out the body parts. And I think I may be failing miserably, but can't wait until Thursday to see if at least parts are right.
I am pretty sure I found bum, but not i100%. It doesn't seem round enough for a head, but feels like the back and bum sticking against my belly, so we'll see.

I just did my last ever on-site support and even though I was sitiing the entire time (that's a first for this client!) I feel absolutely shattered! Was greeted by "coming along nicely" though, which made me happy. I worry the bump may be too small.
My DM on the other hand, tactful as she is, told me that I was fat and that we would "have to see what I looked like after delivery" Shock!! But my DH apparently has lost loads of weight. He's been steadily putting weight on Hmm.
My DM is obsessed by weight and I get a lecture at least every second phone call.

Can't wait for her to see my "fat" baby in March next year. She suggested I don't always feed when baby cries for food. Apparently it worked well for all of us kids. Hmmm...ok then...

Sorry, feeling a bit ranty today, as all I actually want is to sleep :(

Hope everyone is having a better night and week. I seem to swing between insomnia and being able to sleep/hibernate for hours!

Caz thinking of you!

voodoomunkee · 19/09/2011 08:47

Cali, a scan is a good thing like Merlioness says, hope you got a good rest too.

I cannot work out if the baby has turned but i think she may be lying across my tummy. I cant remember the exact phrase. Spent ages on the birthing ball trying to coax her the right way round. MW appointment next week (am on fortnightly ones now?) where hopefully she will have turned or like Kangas dd, be the owner of a bony bum! How in gods name do you tell which way they are lying?

Am trying to have some PMA today what with it being Monday but I looked at my calendar when I got to work and discovered I still have 6 weeks left at work. I think I may not make it and may be begging them to let me go early out of sheer exhaustion!! 42 days :( 30 working days :( Can people tell this does not thrill me? Suppose it means that I wont start SMP until later though!

Hope everyone has a lovely Monday and the bubs all do what they are supposed to be doing!

PamSco · 19/09/2011 08:55

Since I went in for the CGT I "think" I know when he is back to back v spine out the way. I'm pretty sure I know when his head is on my bladder as well but other times no clue! He has never been head up the way on any scan or mw appt so not sure I know what that feels like. My padding makes it hard for me to feel the bumps.

Growth scan tomorrow so I try to guess before I get on the bed and see if i'm right.

My friend popped round a doppler last night. If I was skitish I'd have worried about the complete silence in there. Except that The Boy was mocking me by kicking really hard as I searched for his hb. Not sure I'll use it much in case I use it when worried then can't hear anything.

Last day of kitten sitting today - phew.

OP posts:
voodoomunkee · 19/09/2011 08:59

I think that when my bump has shrunk it is because the bubs has turned over. I have a roundish shape at the top of my bump but she would have to have a funny shaped head for it to be that! MW said that she couldnt feel anything going into my pelvis and was sure she was breech. I was wondering if this was not more to do with her being a 3rd baby and not engaging etc? Sigh, lets just hope she goes and gets in the right position!

I think I need a cup of tea and some breakfast. With any luck the heartburn/reflux/whatever seems to have settled a bit today so am going to try and keep it at bay.

Staceroo · 19/09/2011 09:46

Folic I'm the same I MUST eat within 4 mins of getting up! Even on Sunday when up to watch the rugby at 4:30, i HAD to have a bowl of cheerios straight away!

Pam well impressed with the attitude to the boss... I need to be that strong today when I find out what pay rise I am or am not getting!

Caz Have fingers crossed that all is well for you.

And Cali glad that you got the sensible mw this time!

voodoo jope drs can help with heartburn etc because it does get really important that we're eating well now!

Re baby position, at what point is it that baby is supposed to go head down and get in position?

I am in absolute agony today, my whole left side hurts, i think it may be baby pushing against my ribs. Have taken paracetamol but that didn't help much :( I was up all night last night as couldn't lay comfy because of the pain. Also feel I may have a cold coming on. Nearly didn't come to work today, but as it's payrise news day I didn't want to miss out. May not last the whole day if this keeps up though.

At least I only have a four day week ahead of me and only 27 actual working days left!

In other news we ordered nursery furniture on saturday! And bought baby girls Xmas day outfit! So so cute! Then on Sunday we had our (6 hour long) antenatal class (singular - yes we only get one!). Which was quite helpful and told me some stuff I didn't know. Also got me swaying towards home birth in a pool. But am not going to make a decision until in labour and see how I feel!

Caliphora · 19/09/2011 10:25

Morning girls!

Pam Dopplers are scary things. I ended up not getting one for that very reason.

Merlioness Yes it's a good thing - can't wait to see my little Sproutling again!

Had a routine mw appt today - my new one is so lovely, even though she drove DP up the walls by taking her time when he had to get on a train (they're never happy, eh?)
He did get a big grin on when she said "You've got a big baby in there" - she's measuring 36 at 34 weeks! At first she measured 39, but the mw shuffled some of my fat and got it down to 36... Eeep! I'm hoping it's actually us being off on the dates... Or I'll be a very upset Cali.
I guess the scan will tell us on Wednesday if she is a huge baby or not.

Caz Chiming in on the "thinking of you"!

chipmonkey · 19/09/2011 10:55

Just a quick message for Caz. Hope all goes well with your consultant today!

Not that I'm not thinking of the rest of you, mind but don't have much time before going in to the hospital! Smile

voodoomunkee · 19/09/2011 10:59

Ah Stace lovely feeling when you feel like you are getting organised eh! I also want a home water birth.

Cali, my bubs is 2 weeks ahead according to the MW, measuring 34 at 32 and I KNOW they cant have the wrong dates for me. I just have biggish babies I think. My first was 8'12 and 2 weeks late and dd was 7'11 and 2 weeks late. My son is now 5'7 with size 10 (!) feet at age 13 and my dd is still little and petite at 10.

I need some motivation. Please send any spare this way please.

cep · 19/09/2011 12:27

merlioness how bloomin rude. thump her. Grin

pam my mw reccommended not getting a doppler as it is so hard to hear hb plus sometimes it's your own you hear which can be confused cause apparently it echos so sounds as fast as bubs.

cali glad things went well, fx for hte scan.

caz hope you're doing ok.

voodoo those 6 weeks will go quickly. (think i would have yelled back and told her to cut her own pizza)

baby has been a little quiet over the last few days, but as long as i feel kicks at different parts of the day i'm ok.

voodoomunkee · 19/09/2011 12:53

She did cut her own pizza Cep Wink She had been at her dads at the weekend and their behaviour can be a little erm 'challenging' to say the least on their return!

I am struggling today, I get the wierdest craving when am preggers, some days it isnt there and then other days like today gosh! Anyone got mad cravings?

Tjuice · 19/09/2011 13:37

Voodoo - not exactly encouraging but I feel your pain. I bunked off on Friday to watch Midnight in Paris at the cinema because I am just so fed up with work. Do you have any holiday you can take?

And today, I had my session with the in-house coach/shrink (yeah, its advertising!) and blubbed my eyes out. How embarrassing. But to be fair, I had been awake since 3.30, I am seriously pregnant and hormonal AND I found out last week that the account I am on will not continue after spring. Its been so stressful so there is a certain amount of relief but now I am uncertain of what I will be doing when I come back next year.
But on the plus side, I will definitely be back next year (legally) and into something new and hopefully even more brilliant.

Lucky scan people! I don't have any more scheduled before the birth. And at last feel, the midwife told me she was 1.1kg and that was normal. It seems so relaxed here - no-one told me I should time kicks or anything. No-one has even weighed me since my first appointment.

not - we have a cargo bike by a Danish company called "Cycle Bandits" - www.cykelbanditten.dk/71-ladcykler
It is much cheaper than a Christiania bike and many people who have them are pretty happy but unfortunately ours is a "lemon" and we have had to fix it soooo much. I have never seen the Cangoo before but the Bakfiets are getting popular over here bakfiets.nl/eng/

Well, I am working from home today and about to take a much needed nap. Peace.

cep · 19/09/2011 13:59

voodoo Grin i just have no patience at the moment. That must make it difficult, how long does it take for them to get back to "normal"?

tjuice sorry about the tears, but like you say hormones alone can make you cry never mind if you have added stress ontop. i know what it's like to not know what you're going back to. when i had ds i came back to find i'd been moved to the telephony section (which was typical after mat leave) , that section closed down this year and i went back to my old section. so now i'm wondering if i'll go back to where i am now or somewhere new, as i've heard there's 11 new people starting in my section after i've left so goodness knows.

i've never seen those types of bikes before is it just a Denmark thing?
