Great news on the scan parsley

Just like giraffe Iv been measuring ahead of schedule and my dates havent changed either. Never heard of the mw changing the dates purely on the say so of a tape measure. I would query that when your next talking to the mw mummuyzoe

Iv lost my guillotine, how the hell does that happen. Really need to crop pictures for the party tommorrow and I cant find it. Hmm

Gosh, a couple of days without coming on thread and so much happens... Cakes, hope you're feeling better - car prangs shake you up so much at the best of times, without being pg as well...
Welcome yummy Smile
Oeisha sounds like you're really having a stressful time of it... Are you taking a pg supplement to support all your vital vitamin/mineral/etc intake so Abi isn't robbing you of too much and you're not getting enough back? I remember to take mine once every few days but I'm eating like a pig very well, so I don't think it will matter.

Chez nous - well, all is good. Did bloods and the horrible glucose test thing this morning, though it wasn't as bad as I remember it. SO must make an appt to see Dr next week.
DD2 is sooo excited she can't stop kissing bump, and now she's beginning to get short reading texts home to practise, she sits with her mouth and the book right next to bump so that Ruth can hear too!! Every evening when I go in for our evening cuddle and chat she says: "I just can't believe I'm at school already and that we're going to have a baby sister!"

Going to a wedding this weekend. DDs strangely not invited and I was a bit Hmm at first, but we've arranged for them to spend the night with friends and I'm actually looking forward to having a grown-ups' night out!

ParsleyLion1 · 30/09/2011 21:23

makescakes just checked out your quilt picture. It's really great Smile . You could take orders with work like that. My mum used to make extra cash on the side making stuff like that - particularly using remnants/ jumble sale clothing so the outlay wasn't too high.

Oeisha · 30/09/2011 21:52

butterfly yup. Pregnacare is being swallowed daily and generally not coming back up. It's not like I'm anoerxically thin. Still have a good stone to go before I'm down to being a 'normal' BMI so I just need to chill more about it.
It's so cute your DD is reading to Ruth. Such a thoughtful thing to do! Grin

Cot ordered. Failed on the bag as I'm not really sure what size I need. Does one like this seem about the right size? I've got to that "argh, I don't want to spend" point again, having just spammed away spent money on the cot and associated stuff (though forgot to look at bumpers).

ghosteditor · 30/09/2011 22:31

oeisha that is organised! I think the bag looks a good size, hadn't even got hospital bags of my radar, am going to be such a slacker mummy! Grin

ParsleyLion1 · 01/10/2011 07:07

oeisha I was looking in the Mothercare catalogue last night and it looks similar size to the one they had in their picture (with all the huge amount of stuff you apparently have to buy to put in it).

Wormshuffler · 01/10/2011 08:18

I have never heard of dates being moved forward either, and would be adverse to it happening. The bump size isn't necessarily an indication of age of the baby, it could be that there is more water in there.
I wouldn't want my dates bringing forward, what if you go over the new date and end up getting induced? induced labour is invariably more painful, and then there is the issue of lung maturity............. I would ask for a second opinion mummyzoe
The 12 week scan is the most accurate time for calculating dates, after that time they may grow bigger but that doesn't mean anything about age............if so all babies would weigh the same if born on their due date!

Welcome yummy :)

mummyzoe2012 · 01/10/2011 12:26

the way i look at it now to be honest is she will come when she is ready to come, when i speak to my usual midwife i will ask her about it and see what she says but she will be here when she is ready to be!

anyone else realy struggling with the heat? i can not cope with it!

ParsleyLion1 · 01/10/2011 13:28

I think that's the best way to look at it tbh mummyzoe. People keep asking me how long I'm going to work up to maternity - I keep saying as long as I can go for so I have more time with baba when she arrives, but that it's not really up to me. Baby will have her own schedule and my body will have what ever issues it has and we'll deal with whatever comes our way!

All sounds very rational and sensible but I'm sure I will be panicking like hell at the time Wink

Look what OH has bought me for Xmas. It arrives on 15 October - I may use it early :)

Oeisha · 01/10/2011 14:54

parsley Good present! Grin Don't think my DH will be buying me anything so nice. If I'm lucky I might get the condensing dryer we need.

mummyzoe Yeah, changing your dates sounds odd. Very odd. Def. check with MW.

Super-frustrated now. Ages ago I tried to self-certify, to fail to log on and ring the helpline who were saying they were having issues, but that wasn't one they'd come across. Roll on now (and a certain amount of forgetting) and the username they resent, doesn't work, so they're now resending it because they can't comfirm it on the phone. All this for £75 of income. Bloody rediculous. Might start charging them £10 an hour for the bollocks they're putting me through....

Still not had any luck finding bags either. I really don't want crap written allover it an obviously branded one (they can pay me to advertise their name), and I don't want to spend a fortune (the Kipling one's nice, but can't really justify expense, my gym bag's too small). Maybe my wheeled suitcase will be alright?! But then I am going away at leat 1 weekend (early family xmas) and will want to use that then, and have the bag ready. Maybe I'll just start putting stuff together for now, and then drag MIL shopping in Sheffield for one at some point. GARGH!

At least my washing's drying...

ParsleyLion1 · 01/10/2011 15:07

Oeisha Did you already buy a pram bag? Perhaps you can double up with that - I'm thinking of using the same bag for both.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 01/10/2011 17:42

parsley - so so soooooooooo jealous. I spent a very happy half hour break in that chair whilst on a shopping trip and i have never sat in something so comfy. Bliss. Not that we have anywhere to put it, mind...

I don't think I'm going to get a bag especially, we have a whole bunch of them already and I would be paranoid that gunk of some kind might end up on the shint new bag if I had one! But that is just me...

I wrote out a list the other night of all the things I'd want with me in the maternity unit, then a list for bubba, then a list for DH - it was insane - almost 2 A4 pages long. I need to assemble all the bits and see how much room they take up in person I think!

DH and I are both having an uber nesting day, including the horrors of a Saturday B&Q shopping trip! Lots of cleaning, too, but somehow the flat looks worse than it did before... Hrmm. Wish DH was around tomorrow, too, we've had such a nice day today and it makes me :( that I only get one day of that a week.

Ghost when do you lose your DH?

ParsleyLion1 · 01/10/2011 18:17

I know makescakes that's what happened to me :) I sat down after having brain ache from pushchair overload and said I must have this chair. I'm not entirely sure where I am going to put it but I will find space in the new extension when it is done. Hopefully only another couple of weeks to go - I'm fed up with the microwave and washing up in the bathroom hand basin.

ghosteditor · 01/10/2011 18:30

Hi ladies, just spent the HOTTEST day at the hockey pitch - drank litres of water , sat in the shade, and still just melted. Don't know how the girls managed to run around for 70 mins! In fact the goalkeeper almost fainted due to all the kit, so we had to take her off. After the match I had to eat some salty crisps as I felt so odd after drinking so much water. And I really hope I didn't get sunburned!

DH goes away on Friday, but SIL is living with us for now. Plus I have a work trip which starts on the 10th, so I'll only really notice DH is gone when I get back on the 16th.

Hope you've all survived the melting heat today!

ParsleyLion1 · 01/10/2011 18:43

Very hot day for running about ghost. I pruned our Buddlea tree and sweated like a pig just doing that for 3/4 hour at 11am so how anyone ran around today on a hockey pitch is beyond me... The thermometer outide said 30.7 C this afternoon!

addictediam · 01/10/2011 19:07

i went bra shopping today! got propperly fitted in debinhams i usually go to m&s so was shocked at how much better they were! (even if the girl did keep trying to sell me a bra that they didnt have in stock in my size and was rather uncomfortable and dug in around the bump)
I was also quite surprised by how much my bump has grown! i was stood in the changing rooms looking in the mirror, thinking wow, i've really 'popped'!

i also found this changing bag and have fallen in love with it! it seems to have everything you could ever need!

so hot today cant believe people were actually running arond doing sports!

Spagbolagain · 01/10/2011 20:37

Hi all. I have a yummy mummy changing bag which I got as a gift with DS and its done brilliantly. We also use the free one from boots parenting club, as dH not always keen to carry the yummy one with pink flowers on it, if he's out on his own :o.

The Boots one is perfectly good, has a mat in it and a little cooler bit, and is spacious, I would definitely sign up for that if yo haven't already, it's free!
Re hospital bags, I think I took a gym bag with DS and DH took some other bits in a small rucksack.

Oeisha · 01/10/2011 20:45

addicted proper fitting bras are ace! I like the bag...

I already have mine, but alas it is far too small for my hospital bag. Mainly becaue I'm going to need a towel. I've started a list, and it isn't as long as I feared, but it's not exactly short...

Had a brief meltdown earlier. Trying to stack the dishwasher whilst making food that I didn't want to eat and trying to deal with a Gizzard mewling for attention. Tried feeding him, tried snuggles, tried everything. He was ok if he was on my lap (but basically wanted me to go to bed) but what with the needing to eat and not really wanting to it was all a bit too much. DH is away, he usually is on Gizzard distraction duties. Giz eventually got fed up and went away, but not before I started sobbing like a loon into the washing up. I seem to be over it however and dinner's not gone down too badly.

I've not found the heat too bad today, but haven't had to do much moving really. I've sorted through my wardrobe and am getting rid of anything I don't remember wearing for ages. But, it doens't make up for the lack of tax filing and the fact that the rest of the house is a sty. Can't really claim that as nesting, more a hanger-incident-leading-to-clothes-rage.

Work tomorrow, so I might just get an early night. Have a lovely Sunday mummies!

Oeisha · 01/10/2011 20:53

spagbol you mean they give a free changing bag for just signing up? Useful intel! Will sign up anyway. Already got my advantage card registered online, so they have my info already.

ParsleyLion1 · 01/10/2011 21:20

I just signed up - didn't see anything about a bag Confused is it part of the welcome pack?

addictediam · 01/10/2011 21:23

You have to buy a pack of pampers newborn nappies, but yes they give it to you! It's a really nice bag actually we've been using it up till now but with all the stuff for a newborn and then dd who will be toilet training age, I don't think it will be big enough for us.

Plus dh promiced if he ever upduffed me again he would buy me a really expensive lovley bag to make up for it! He's quite relieved at the price of this one!

Oeshia hope your feeling happier/better now

addictediam · 01/10/2011 21:25

They send you a voucher in the post

ParsleyLion1 · 01/10/2011 21:34

Thanks addicted I'll just wait for the pack to come through then :)

ParsleyLion1 · 01/10/2011 21:40

I think I may be in love with this website.
