I only did it a test this morning and have not even told my husband yet!

CODwidow · 28/09/2011 21:15

no as soon as week 13 begins i normally feel back to myself with lots of energy!!
Hormones are behaving this time round in fact i seem more relaxed about things and happier so thats gotta be a plus side :)

DialMforMummy · 28/09/2011 21:31

I am quite relaxed too about it too, maybe that's what it is...

Wrigglebum · 28/09/2011 21:46

Just noticed my spelling mistake in my rant about intelligence Blush.

I had bloods taken at booking in, but our midwives give out a pack through the doctors with all the info about the different tests and check you've read it before they take bloods. It's amazing how it differs across the country. I didn't get weighed either, just gave them my best guesstimate (scales will not be my friend right now).

tostaky · 29/09/2011 04:06

Ggrrr... It's almost 4am and I've been up since 2am I just can't sleep!!! Even though I'm really really tired all the time...
Got friends coming over for the weekend tomorrow and I'm not sure how I'm going to cope with cooking for everybody and staying up late chatting... DP wants to tell them but I do t feel so confident.
I'm. Really struggling keeping my eating under control too, being pregnant is like having a licence to eat anything for me... Bad bad bad..
I'm a bit envious of all of you with ur scans and appointment, I haven't been to the GP yet. I'm going on fri (will be 6wks) and I'm thinking about lying about my lmP so I get my scan one week early and I can tell People one week early. Especially I'm going to be 12 wks for DS1 bday and I really want to be able to break the news then. Being in London, and bc im seeing the GP so late, I'm scared I'll have my scan after the birthday (around 13 wks).
Not to sure how to force myself to sleep now... I did some cooking and washing but I really need to SLEEP I'm just so tired...

Yorky · 29/09/2011 06:47

I am stupidly tired this morning, despite going to bed at 830 yesterday!
DD and DS1 were awake from 230 this morning and even though she is now asleep I'm not sure he settled back so I am tired and grumpy, neither of the little ones are in nursery today and eldest will be a miserable toad after a full day at school. Also due to have double glazing fitted in dining room and porch today and not sure they can get to the dining room window for the ridiculous number of boxes we need to unpack :(
Feeling v sorry for myself, and nervous about how I'll cope when there are 4 to get ready in a morning!
Thank you to those who have had good scans,
PopEsMum - are you forces too?

PopEsMummy · 29/09/2011 07:36

How did you guess yorky? Grin DH has a nasty habit of being away for me being pregnant - last time he went away before I even found out and didn't get back until I was 23 weeks. I had dd at 37 weeks so it felt like a short pg for him - he's already bored this time Wrigglebum I didn't notice Blush Sat here almost in tears at the thought of work today - 9-4 on training and then back to the ward until 8pm. I'm so tired Sad

MandaHugNKiss · 29/09/2011 13:07

Howdy all. I've been in hiding because just feeling pretty awful (I had iol for a mmc april 1st at almost 17 weeks and it's making for an angst ridden time) and don't want to be a Negative Nancy so stayed quiet.

My heartfelt condolences to those we've lost, and congrats to those getting through good first scans.

mythical · 29/09/2011 18:38

Just had an 8wk early scan, it was our first "confirmation". Husband had tears in his eyes when he saw the heartbeat, i was relieved! It was a lovely experience and definitely worth the money to know bean was fine! I had bad cramps in early pregnancy so i was scared of a mmc.
Hope everyone is okay x

cupcakefairy · 29/09/2011 18:59

tostaky in my area they do the scan 'between 10 and 12 weeks'...are yours quite strict about it being 12 weeks? I don't think going to the GP at 6 weeks is late! They shouldn't delay you for that.
But yeys, am all for lying about lmp Grin I lied about mine but the other way as like someone else said on here (sorry can't find the post...) I have long cycles. I chart so I know exactly when I ovulate and it was day 18 this time...so I gave my lmp as 4 days later so they would calculate the correct due date. Makes me SO Angry that they assume everyone ovulates day 14!! It's totally inaccurate! I'm really hoping my dating scan will show me to be exactly where I think I am then I can be all smug :)

floydie agreed that maternity wear choice out there is rubbish. I got some great mat jeans in Next last time that I lived in. Also got mat leggings on ebay which were a godsend...apart from those I just wore loose drawstring-type trousers which were the most comfy thing.
Last time I was 42 weeks pregnant (I know!) during the May heatwave last year and that was NOT fun trying to be comfortable!

dreamingofanallotment · 29/09/2011 19:14

I'm so tempted to book an early private scan after hearing about so many of you hearing heartbeat and seeing baby! I'm especially paranoid at the moment as a child in my class has just been diagnosed with slapped cheek, which can be v bad for pregnant women. Apparently there's a blood test that can be done to see if you're immune already, so will be asking the midwife about it at my booking in appt on Tuesday.

Glad it's not just me going to bed mega early. I fall asleep at 8.30 most nights! But then wake up at 4.30 feeling sick... Yuk! Hope everyone else isn't too bleurgh.

skinnymuffin · 29/09/2011 19:39

Evening everyone :)

I am soooooooo tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiired... Hot weather + work all day + busy toddler rampaging around house = utterly drained skinny.

Sorely tempted to sneak into the stock cupboard tomorrow afternoon and try to get a little nap!

tostaky you poor thing, 2.30am?? That is just not on! Hope you manage a bit more tonight.

Hope everyone is well and managing symptoms ok. I'm still spotting!!! I wonder if it's just going to plague me for the whole of the first trimester? I don't mind really as long as the baby is ok. I've got a booking apt on Monday so I'll see what they say then.

Still, happy days eh? :)

skinnymuffin · 29/09/2011 19:42

Ps mythical lovely news about your scan.. I love a teary dh I do!!

Rhubarbgarden · 29/09/2011 20:33

Oh gosh some sad news since I last came on here. So sorry for those we've lost. But good news that there have been some happy scans too. I've only just registered as pg with the doc today, so feel like I've got some catching up to do. Had a bit of a drama yesterday; one of dd's little friends has come down with chicken pox, which means dd is most likely busy incubating it. Even though I know I had it as a small child, I still got a bit paranoid - but did I really have it? Maybe they were wrong... Etc etc, especially when I googled implications for pregnant women (I know, I know, stupid thing to do). My perspective has been restored now but I'll be glad to get the antibody test thing done.

Apart from that, the tiredness is crippling. I seem to be suffering insomnia too two nights in a row tossing and turning. Dh has been a star dealing with dd while I collapse on the sofa. Pregnancy makes me horribly grumpy so I feel rather sorry for him.

BlueCrane · 29/09/2011 20:43

Feeling sooo sleepy tonight and just had long chat with my best friend who was made redundant yesterday - and her DH too...kinda wanted to tell them the good news to cheer them up but she'll go into overdrive again about all the things we can 'have' that they don't need anymore as she's got two DD's and stopping now...I just can't handle talking about moses baskets etc etc just yet! So much still to do tonight but with the heat and little bean draining my energy I just feel like going to sleep...not even 9pm yet Blush

mythical so Grin at your scan news!!!

mythical · 29/09/2011 21:13

Allowed myself to get excited now and managed to dig out a coat i bought ages ago in my fat(ter) days. it happens to be a trapeze shape and fits very nicely with 2 pillows stuffed under it, so that's me sorted for a maternity coat this winter!

FloydieDoydie · 30/09/2011 02:25

I'm sooooo tired. I want to sleeeeep! But can't Sad

Well, maybe putting down the phone might help Grin

Cacacaz · 30/09/2011 11:39

Fuck! I have been bleeding last night and this am with cramps. Hoping to be scanned today but if not tomoorow.

dreamingofanallotment · 30/09/2011 12:05

Keeping my fingers crossed for you cacacaz. Hope you get a scan today.

titan · 30/09/2011 13:55

Hi All,

Sorry to hear about those who have lost. cacacaz hoping you get a scan today and all is well? How is the bleeding now?

I am also exhausted. Found out today that my consultant appt isn't until 12 weeks. I was hoping it would be earlier as the pregnancy is high risk and I'd really like to know if I should have already started aspirin but the lady on the antenatal clinic booking line said there was nothing they could do despite the urgent referral from my GP last week.

We did discuss going privately but it seems once you are a private patient you can't go back to being NHS if you need to be admitted for a long period or need extra tests etc so cost can potentially end up £££££. You have no way of knowing.

DialMforMummy · 30/09/2011 16:39

Hope all is well Cacacaz.

goodname · 30/09/2011 17:04

Hi all, I also am tired, enjoying the amazing weather though, had a picnic on the beach with dh and ds today. Wish it could be like this all the time instead of three days a year (live in scotland!)
I got my scan date for Thur oct 20th and booking in for the monday after, both in the afternoon when ds1(and me) naps so a bit annoying. Cant see why they cant do they both in one day esp as it is a 40 minute trip to the hospital eac time! Last time they were both in one day.

Off to enjoy the last of the sun before the bad weather starts again 2mo.

Quenelle · 30/09/2011 17:16

Hope everything's ok Cacacaz.

musicalmrs · 30/09/2011 17:24

Cacacaz, thinking of you and hoping all is well. I know just how scary that can be.

Exhausted too - very glad it's the weekend, even though I have to work. Beginning to worry about Monday's scan, though have a lovely (although quiet) weekend planned so trying to focus on that!

I'm also suffering with insomnia Rhubarb. Really struggling with getting through the day, and particularly the evenings - used to work from home during them, but really struggling to keep going.

MandaHugNKiss · 30/09/2011 17:41

Really hoping all is well, cacacaz

Insomnia at night coupled with unadulterated exhaustion all day long? Check.

Constant background nausea that randomly swells to full on 'ugh, i feel SO sick'? Check.

Paranoia something is wrong that randomly swells to full on mentalling panic? Check.

I'm glad to be pregnant, really, I am. Just wish this part was easier.

BatsInTheSnowglobe · 30/09/2011 18:02

Loads to catch up on, congrats to those who've had good scans.
I've got my booking appointment on the 18th October too blue! Although I'm trying to change it at the moment as I can't really make that day, which is proving impossible as the birthing unit i was planning on going too and my midwife works through has been closed down this week (disgusting not even the midwives knew until the evening before!) and everyone i talk to doesn't seem to know who I should phone. To make it worse I work for that bloody hospital so if i, an employee, can't figure it out and find someone to help me how the hell does anyone else!!!

Hope everyone is ok. I'm a bit mood swingy, but havent been sick for 2 whole days!! woooooo
