Are we back on form in the 'ahem' bedroom?

I'm watching F1 now and I love it.
I think the baby does too because DH and I just felt the baby kick for first time!

Was well unexpected as hadn't felt anything before that! I think LO can sense I have Button in my Fantasy F1 team Grin

Wishful thinking. Jenson is on my boy name shortlist too lol

Def getting the iCandy strawberry now in Pomegranite colour pack. Eeee exciting times!

littlemonkeybix · 11/09/2011 13:49

kayano we had kicks while match of the day was on... Definitely sporting types Wink

On the pram fron... I am clueless!! I only know I need the lot, as cheap but good quality as possible, but small enough for a ford Ka!! Wish me lluck!!

On better things... I have made my pear cake which I had promised myself for 3weeks!! Sitting on the side cooling as I type!! Yummmmm! But I did lick the spoon with the mix on... With raw egg in the mix! Whoops!

Off to the pub now (sob, lemo all the way) to meet up with some girls from school!

melliebobs · 11/09/2011 14:04

kayano I love the F1 too. But obviously pip don't like it. Still nothing. It got threatened with some of DH god aweful metal music if it doesn't do something soon!

monkey I'm in the KA camp too. Every time I open the boot I have a cry that nothing fits in. But got told the Oyster does Apparantly. However the mothership has been making noise that she wants to downsize her car (5 dr seat ibiza) so might have to start negotiations to buy hers.

melliebobs · 11/09/2011 14:05

Oh yerr 17+0 today Grin

PamBeesly · 11/09/2011 14:40

Sugarkane thanks. I do have a dog who gets lots of walks so I might just have another shop around. :)

phlossie · 11/09/2011 14:54

I'm bidding on a Dreami Carrycot on ebay at the moment. And some dolls house furniture - I'm refurbishing an old dolls house that belonged to my dearly departed aunt for DD's 4th birthday (Oct 3rd).

I'm ITCHING to get stuck into my bags and bags of baby clothes. I need to decorate the baby's room first, which we're still calling the spare room, but I don't want to until after the 20 week scan. My DH is thinking that we should find out baby's sex so we can half the amount of clothes we have in storage - we could use the space - but I'm not sure I'd be confident enough to give away all the clothes for the sex the baby isn't, if you see what I mean! Can you imagine getting rid of ALL the girl's clothes and then having a girl? Would be annoying.

How many of you are planning on finding out the sex (if you haven't already)?

melliebobs · 11/09/2011 15:37

At first I wanted a surprise but Dh has won me round with finding out. After going shopping after 12am scan it's bloomin impossible to buy gender neutral clothing that ISN'T beige/White so sod it I'll just find out. Only 19 days to go and fingers crossed pip has um spread on the day!

PamBeesly · 11/09/2011 15:50

I'm finding out too, I'm so excited, it won't be until the 26th of October but I really hope the baby is lying in the correct position and hasn't its legs crossed! I'm really Confused about baby names, I just think I won't have a name for the child when they make their appearance. I hear other peoples names and say 'thats beautiful' but I can't see those names on my baby.

Sugar80 · 11/09/2011 16:32

Definitely finding out. Roll on 5th October!!

ZhenXiang · 11/09/2011 16:42

We will be finding out as there is only one boy in DH's large family, so we would have to think about clothes if by slim chance this baby is not another girl. It will also save choosing names for both sexes. I am hoping that it will also help DD bond with the baby further before it comes.

louby86 · 11/09/2011 16:43

We're going to find out (crossed legs permitting). Our scan is October 3rd, on countdown now Smile

Kayano · 11/09/2011 16:52

I'm finding out on 29th hopefully!!!

The last male born on my mums side of family was my great uncle freddie and he is 90!!!

babycarmen · 11/09/2011 16:54

Were finding out on 1st November (day after DDs 4th birthday). Our local hospital wont tell you so were going to get a 4D scan and find out then. We didnt find out with DD and it was a nice surprise but i really want to know this time :D We have the 20 week scan in 10 days time though so im hoping it might be obvious then, even if they wont tell us!

Zhen Were also thinking it will help DD bond, especially if its a boy. Shes convinced the baby is a girl and wont accept the possibility of a boy!

QueenFee · 11/09/2011 17:24

Were not finding out. However I have already sorted through my boys clothes and kept only the minimum and what I really like (between ny sister and I we have 5 boys under 5 so it was a lot of clothes!) And waiting for my sister to pass me back the girls clothes. I am not even worrying about this babys future bedroom as my last one was in my room for a year and then I changed plans as to where he was going to sleep so might as well have waited. I have emptied a chest of drawers in dds room so all my neutral and 1st size stuff will go in there. By 1st size I mean 0-3 none of mine have fitted in newborn stuff or size 1 nappies!

Sugarkane · 11/09/2011 17:49

Not finding out here I have 3 years of dd clothes and nearly 2 years of ds so no need for anything else, maybe a few cardies and tights if its a girl because dd was born may. I just love the surprise when my dp tells me the babiesn sex not the midwife.

I have been thinking about baby names but dp wont talk about them yet (he never will until later and then just says its my choice). For a boy I love Reggie but im not sure it suits my other 2's names Isla-Rae and Aiden. I have way to many to pick for a girl I love Rowan but where im from I dont like how people pronounce it, other front runners include Alana/Alannah, Romilly, Amelie, Lana. MIL would like us to pick a name starting with R as then mine, DP and DC first initials would then spell out my dp name.

phlossie · 11/09/2011 18:23

sugarkane I asked the midwife to let me see what sex DC2 was, and she 'ok, I'll just pass her over... ooops!' She was genuinely sorry, but it didn't really matter. I love that moment too.... hmmm, think we probably won't find out.

EsmeWeatherwax · 11/09/2011 18:56

Hi all, have been keeping up with the thread but not posting much, been pretty sick for the past week or so, definitely not up to talking all things pregnancy! Plus dh was away all week, so had hands full with dd's and little half-baked making its presence felt.

I will hopefully be finding out the sex at 20 week scan...Tuesday, so excited!...we have a ton of girl's clothes in our loft, so at least some will have to be cleared out one way or another. I'll keep the good ones if it's a girl, and if it's a boy, dsil will be deluged with baby stuff! Fortunately other dsil has just had a boy, so I would inherit a fair bit from her. Plus, if it's a girl, I'm totally stuck for a name, used all my favourite girl names already!

Prams...haha...don't get me started. I am hugely resisting looking at them again, as am our street's resident pramaholic! My neighbour thinks I should be in rehab! So I'll be sticking with my Loola Up, and my trusty Maclaren xt. I sold a Phil and Teds about a year ago, really wish I hadn't it would have been fantastic for a wee winter baby and dd2 on the nursery run.

Xavielli · 11/09/2011 19:00

I'll be finding out this time and have with all the others too. DP didn't want to know when DS2 and I managed to keep it from him for 20 weeks so we'll be doing the same again!

I was funny when I asked the sonographer if she could see what flavour he was; she said yes of course then looked at baby at bit then said 'Oh!' Cue all sorts going through my head - 'Oh, thank God it's a hand!' Cheeky monkey was cupping his bits Grin

ZhenXiang · 11/09/2011 21:09

Hey, have you lot seen this was on another thread, made me Grin

PDog · 11/09/2011 21:52

Ha Grin, fab. How fit is she? Thanks zhen that really cheered me up.

We won't be finding out the sex. Didn't with DD so have lots of neutral newborn stuff. DH wants to but has said it is up to me. I really liked finding out for myself last time but was very surprised as I was convinced I was having a boy.

Feeling very worried today. Not felt any movements yet and had some pain earlier. It felt like tightening, like mild contractions but stopped when I sat down. Happened again when I stood up. Keep going to the loo to check for bleeding. I'm sure it is just my body getting used to being pg again and things stretching but I can't help worrying.

Fil is coming tomorrow and staying for a week Shock. We get on well and he is great with DD but the tv will be on constantly, which drives me mad. All DH's family are the same; conversations are conducted whilst they all sit staring at the telly Hmm. He also expects me to wait on him. I always say, we've got x and y in so just help yourself if you feel hungry or thirsty but he still waits for me to offer.

Off to bed now - I will need my rest Smile.

Crazybit · 11/09/2011 22:26

PdDog-It is probably BH. I was getting them for a full day the other week. May be anxiety related with fil coming? We had mil and her 4yo dd in the summer hols for a week. I feel yuor pain.

We will be finding out thge sex if baby plays ball, I am impatient.

Am feeling so pi$$ed off. OH just skyped from Peru, says he's drinking cocaine tea, reccommended for altitude problems, oh hum, fair enugh, but he is also smoking! Now, he is sometimes a social smoker, as in when drinking but doesn't smoke day to day. I on the other hand was a smoker, but have managed to quit properly since discovering the pregnancy, but I really crave one. Am thinking he is a right twat for not only being someone hot, chilling with druggy tea, having an adventure but also smoking, the one thing that I crave so much, while I sit here pissing myself, getting fatter and being a single parent. Angry

Was going to do an AIBU thread, but am far too delicate to get bashed!

Zhen-Loved the link :)

PamBeesly · 11/09/2011 22:55

Well done on giving up the cigarettes Crazy thats excellent :) YANBU to be annoyed, I'd love to be off on an exotic holiday too. FWIW I think the coca tea is something lots of tourists have. Will he be three more weeks?? Keep three weeks of housework and washing for him to do Grin

Crazybit · 11/09/2011 23:05

Thanks Pam :) Tis very difficult sometimes, I have urges to rip them out of peoples mouths and pop them in mine...pyscho Blush

Yep 3 weeks yesterday. Not bothered about the coco tea tbh, just jealous about the smoking. I am going to try and save the garden for him to sort...but I'm so used to being a single mum and running my own house I'll probably just get on with it if I have the energy.

Forgot to say, mw rung earlier to say my blood test showed a result of 1 in 1200 for downs which is good :)

Oh and I'm off to meet a couple more MN pregnants from my area tomorrow, at Pizza Hut Grin. Will be nice to have some grown up conversation :)

Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend :)

PamBeesly · 11/09/2011 23:23

Crazy I'm so jealous I would love to meet some other MN'ers but I don't get the impression there are lots in my location (Galway, Ireland) are there?? Hello lovely MN'ers??

Excellent news about the downs results, they don't do any anomaly scans here. The maternity care is a bit different from the UK

runaroundstartsnow · 12/09/2011 09:47
