Well, are we?

Has the sickness abated?
Are our locks shiny and luscious?
Are our nails long and strong?
Are we back on form in the 'ahem' bedroom?

No? Well we soon will be ladies it's The second Trimester*

Pam - I tend to get a little brown discharge all through pregnancy a few hours after sex, so if you've been up to no good it could be that Blush

littlemonkeybix · 23/08/2011 14:51

Xavielli you have made my afternoon with that one! Wink

PamBeesly · 23/08/2011 14:55

Xavielli I wish it was Grin I'm still throwing up like a sick goat so I'm positive about that (in so far as only a pregnant woman can be positive about being sick)

phlossie · 23/08/2011 17:07

When's your birthday littlemonkeybix? Mine's Sept 23rd, so might also be having a birthday scan!

I had mw appointment today. Got to hear the heartbeat, which was lovely, though the mw couldn't get baby's without getting mine at the same time! Baby's was double time. No mw appointment until 28 weeks - I remember that feeling like ages last time. But I will get a scan too.

Also feeling like absolute shite. I'm so bloody knackered. But maybe it's just having two other dcs to entertain. For the first time, I'm actually looking forward to the school term so that I get a couple of days to myself!

Xavielli I envy that you're getting some action! My DH and I realised that we used to be sex in the morning people, and now there's no chance and we're both too tired by the evening.

littlemonkeybix · 23/08/2011 17:15

phlossie you gave me a chuckle ... my poor DP has gone off the idea as I am carrying our little pip!! He had to be coerced last time (so long ago now!!) Fortunate as I am still waaaay to tired all the time! Wink He'll have to relent once the hormones turn me into some kind of nympho though!

My birthday is October 17th, and I usually loath aging.... the week preceding birthdays are usually spent feeling sorry for myself, the day is great, and the following week normality is resumed..... This year I can forsee just joy and eagreness! I have never wished a birthday on so much since I was a child! Grin HURRY BIRTHDAY, HUUURRRYYYY!!!

Xavielli · 23/08/2011 18:06

Oops sorry ladies! Grin I'm well and truly in the nympho phase, have been for nearly 2 weeks. Starting to feel a little sorry for DP actually, can almost hear him sigh when I approach the bedroom Blush. Should only last another couple of weeks!

claricestar · 23/08/2011 18:37

Lifeissweet

I'm in Lancs...have already had booking appt with midwife who referred me for a consultant appt. All my dates are in back of green notes too. I'm guessing i get seen less because it's my 3rd! I'm not too fussed though. I'm at that nice stage where I pretty much feel normal!

14 + 1

EsmeWeatherwax · 23/08/2011 20:53

Xavielli I can join you in the nympho phase, although tis mostly manifesting as, well, wet dreams I suppose! Although I did wake up in the middle of one the other night and jump dh at 5am. Never seen such a pleased hubby! He looked like ShockGrinGrin

louby86 · 23/08/2011 21:25

I'm the same as Xavielli and Esme although DH isn't having so much fun! He got freaked out about sex after he saw the little one wriggling about at the scan! I think he's got ideas of grandeur and thinks he's going to be poking it in the ear Grin I just have to keep pouncing on him so he can't say no!

louby86 · 23/08/2011 21:25

Wow that last sentence sounded bad Blush He likes it, honest Wink (I think!)

woowa · 23/08/2011 22:05

Evening. Phew, midwife kindly tried to find heartbeat (she said she didn't need to for her benefit but was happy to do so for mums!). It took her ages and she said baby was right down in my pubic area almost (aparently because i'm so tall?!), and all she could get was my swishy beat, and then suddenly there it was, the lovely galloping sound of a baby heart. Just for a couple of second then she lost it again.

When she told me where the baby was, I realised that my entire "bump" is therefore made up of flab. I've been rubbing it maternally, and it's just fat. It must have moved up and out to make room for my uterus!

Glad some of you are feeling like nooky. I still feel really swollen down there a lot of the time, so not much chance of that til it goes away.

Also, slept almost all night last night, so I actually survived out of bed all evening for a youth group planning meeting tonight. Amazing! I think i must have been super worried and that was keeping me awake part of the time.

17 or 16 weeks. I will clarify one day!

EsmeWeatherwax · 23/08/2011 22:35

Woowa, I got this a lot with my second...everybody telling me I was carrying really low etc, er, no, she's actually really high, the low slung bit is me! (1st csection ruined any stomach muscles I ever had)

woowa · 23/08/2011 22:51

esme I've already had one person saying "if it's a galloping heartbeat, it's a girl!". Er, no, it's a 16 week old baby. People are mad. (I assume i'm right, btw, i thought it was just during labour that there was a difference?!).

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 24/08/2011 08:23

Well I still feel like crap - the actual vomiting is less frequent, but the nausea is worse and fairly constant. I'm really struggling to get through the working day, and can't really manage anything outwith that - DH is basically dealing with DD (2.5) most if the time. V Sad

I've contacted my GP to discuss antiemetics as I can't go on like this much longer. It went on for almost the whole pregnancy last time and I am so depressed. I can't even get excited about the wee person cos I feel so miserable.

EsmeWeatherwax · 24/08/2011 10:15

Sad wicketkeeper such a dreadful feeling. Hope you are able to get some medication from the GP, the constant sickness so drags you down. I was trying to explain it to dh last night, like suffering from the worst seasickness for nine months. Horrible.

Well, yesterday I learned a valuable pregnancy lesson, which is do not shift large and heavy items of furniture around when you are 17 weeks pregnant. Ligament pain galore, had me doubled over for half the night, plus serious acceleration of SPD. Sleeping's for wussies anyway, lol, I'd much rather spend the night tossing and turning trying to stop hips from cramping...Hmm

Purpletoes · 24/08/2011 10:32

just a quick message been really slack lately. Had my 16 week appointment today all well here galloping heartrate heard!

hope people start to feel better soon.

deardear · 24/08/2011 13:15

i have gone off feeling frisky! had scan last week and all well. sickness and nausea has just about gone as long as i keep eating. i have dropped some weight.

i have a consultant appt for 7th september - not sure what for although i do have an under active thyroid? thought i would be back at the midwife for that one. anatomy scan is beginning of october.

have told the parentals and published it on FB but not told work yet. I am going to send an email round when i finish work shortly as no one is in and i really want to tell them all. chickens way out but hey ho - i wont see boss till Friday anyway as she is out tomorrow as well. she has no kids and not sure how they will take it as i will be off on maternity for the whole of the busiest time of year. oh well.

have yet to pick up my Bounty pack - this is my 3rd DC and i am getting it. midwife gave me the pack at myfirst appt

PamBeesly · 24/08/2011 13:24

Hi All,
well after having moe bleeding yesterday i rang the midwife who told me to come into the EPU to get checked. I had an exam and the doctor found that my placenta was very low and very close to a blood vessel and that was causing the bleed, she said it will hopefully move up in the coming weeks. She said there was still some old blood up there and not to worry if I get a bit more bleeding, unless its accompanied by cramping and new fresh blood. She then scanned to check on the baby and he was bouncing around, so it really put my mind at ease. She said anyone who is in doubt or has any bleeding that worries them should come in because it helps put their mind at rest, and they can monitor the baby.
TheWicketKeeperIsDown sorry to hear you are feeling so sick, I hope there is something you can get that will give you some relief

littlemonkeybix · 24/08/2011 13:52

Pam that is good news... hope you are feeling more relaxed now Smile

No news from me today, just lurking and procrastinating (soooo much to do at work... and zero will!!) Is it Friday yet??!! Time for a Brew

CoffeeOne · 24/08/2011 15:11

happy to hear that Pam :)

deardear I'm another one not feeling frisky at all! It doesn't help that I can't shift this cold though. All the honey and lemon in the world isn't as good as beechams!

Sugar80 · 24/08/2011 16:24

Good news Pam

Working from home today after almost having some sort of breakdown at my desk yesterday!! I've got on much better slouching around in my comfies and not having to actually see anyone!!

No friskiness here either. Still throwing up... what I do the day before has a really noticeable effect on how I feel though. Yesterday I probably overdid it (by attempting to carry on as normal!!) so was sick this morning. I'm not very good at taking it easy...

louby86 · 24/08/2011 17:12

That's good news Pam what a relief for you.

I'm surprised at how many people are still being/feeling so sick! I had about 4 vom free days and thought it had ended but I've been sick the last 3 days. I also have a really weak stomach, was on the phone to DH and picked up something out the very back of one of our food cupboards that had started to go off and the sight/smell made me sick there and then! I'm hoping that's not going to happen at work!

Got my (not quite) 16 week appointment next week, really excited after hearing all your stories about heartbeats!

babycarmen · 24/08/2011 17:18

Great news Pam

No friskiness here much to DPs dismay! Although i cant say the same for my dreams at night Blush weird.

Nausea has well and truly gone woohoo!! My belly is huge already and people at DDs nursery keep asking when im due .. cue shocked face when i say febuary 6th. DD has started kissing my belly goodnight and has been drawing pics of baby at nursery.. very cute. :) This pregnancy seems to be going much quicker then my first!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 24/08/2011 18:28

Great news, Pam!

Well, I am now the proud owner of some cyclizine - fingers crossed this helps! I totally agree that activity/rest really impacts on the sickness. I have a couple of sneaky days off now, so planning to camp out on the sofa!

QueenFee · 24/08/2011 19:52

I am still being sick but also find it relates to overdoing it. I have done nothing today as felt dizzy and sick :( also not felt baby for aa couple of days so starting to worry.
