Thanks ladies, without me saying anything DP has said sorry for being a git! His words not mine. I think I'm just being a bit wobbly today as I couldn't stop getting teary on the train home with DP when we were talking about someone in the family who isn't well.

ghost I can't believe you are so close! I really hope everything keeps going well. And Davina, the sad story about your friend was another thing to give me a trembly bottom lip. It's devastating. I hope her and her family heal quickly from this and go on to have a healthy pregnancy...

Me and DP are going to watch Bridesmaids when we get home. He's forgiven now Smile

Btw, 17 weeks and baby a turnip!

Kayzr · 30/12/2011 18:52

Carlita I am here!!!!! I am so so so so so so sorry. I am just useless. I have too many threads. I have June 2012, December 2008, my very first conception/ante natal/post natal thread from when I ttc DS2 and here. I am really rubbish at keeping up with posting but I do read them all.

I am amazed how far some of you are now!!

I am 15 weeks and feel like I have been pg for years, I have a private scan booked next Saturday to try and find out the sex as DP wont be here for the 20 week scan.

DP has a new job. Which is very good and a bit bad. Good part is that he gets paid over £1000 more a month also he gets 8 weeks off instead of 5. Bad news is that we had to postpone the wedding so he could start straight away, also he has to work 8 weeks instead of 5.

But we decided that the money would make our lives so much easier. We need a new a car and a new house. We are also planning a holiday to Florida for 2014 which we couldn't afford before.

Kayzr · 30/12/2011 19:03

Ghost WOW so anytime now and there could be a baby Ghost! Very very exciting. Grin If you like it then Kendal Mint Cake is brilliant for labour as the sugar gives you loads of energy. I love the stuff and generally eat it before I go into labour.

Mamma Yuk to your DP. I am glad he apologised to you. I was going to have 1 glass of wine with Christmas Dinner and it smelt vile. I am thinking this is a girl due to craving cider with both of the boys and not at all with this one.

Jingle I am sorry to hear about Pirate probably needing an op. I hope it all goes very well when she makes her appearance.

Urmmm there is a million other things I have missed. I am really very sorry at being so bloody useless.

1 thing I forgot from the other post was that I am getting some fluttery type feelings. I have for a couple of weeks now. MW thinks its because this is DC3 I know what I am expecting to feel.

Carlitawantsabauble · 30/12/2011 22:21

Hi kayzr! Grin hooray for fluttery feelings! Grin

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 31/12/2011 09:48

Kayzr congrats to your DH on his new job, and great about the flutterings! That's early, how lovely Smile

And mmm Kendall Mint Cake - love the stuff, has got me through many a hike. But if I send DH on a mission to a walking shop I might not see him for days Grin

JingleBun · 01/01/2012 13:59

Happy new year!! Hope you all had a great night. I had my head down the toilet being sick at the stroke of midnight and my PGP is on a whole new level of pain since pirate dropped down the other day. Tears have been shed Sad So I could have had a nicer beginning to 2012!
Feeling rather sorry for myself today, sorry!

Hi Kayzr! Congratulations on your DP's new job! and feeling little flutters! Smile

ghosteditor · 01/01/2012 14:34

Hi bun, ouch, that's not a nice start to the year! At least you can be sure that next new year will be better Smile

ghosteditor · 01/01/2012 14:37

Oh and also - look how close we are to needing a new thread!!!

tinseltoedtrope · 01/01/2012 14:55

Happy new year everyone! Grin

So much to catch up on!

ghost hurrah for low BP - sounds like everything is progressing perfectly for you!!

ellie hope you have had a lovely time on the farm, despite not being able to cuddle the lambs! I'm sure you'll feel movement soon! I was desperate to feel it, but believe me, it is so worth the wait! I'm now reaching the point where it can be really uncomfortable/hurt but tbh I don't really mind, it's so reassuring and nice to know that fuzzy is doing OK in there! He responds to stimulus (he likes quiet and DP's voice up close to the bump!) and drums his feet on my bladder if he's unhappy with the position i'm in!! He also gets quite excited and kicky every time I go on the bus! Is the weirdest most lovely thing in the world - I hope you feel it soon! Grin

davina glad i'm not the only one struggling with footwear!! I used to work with someone who wore flip flops all year round, even in the snow, but he was clearly deranged! Wink I guess I shall end up doing what I used to do when the arthritis stopped me putting my own shoes/socks on; get DP to do it for me in the morning before he left for work then keep them on all day! (or just stay home and wear slippers all day, given the pouring rain outside atm, that's really quite appealing)!

Bun great news that they aren't going to have to intervene in the pregnancy/birth! Frustrating that they can't tell exactly what it is yet, but it sounds like they aren't too phased by it, which is generally a good sign! If it's any reassurance, DP had surgery when he was about 6 weeks old to fix his pyloric stenosis (in those days it was experimental surgery - nowadays it's totally run of the mill) and he's turned out just fine! Doubtless surgery on a small baby is scary, but with any luck it will be one surgery that fixes the problem then you can all get on with leading normal happy lives!

carlita hurrah for feeling good! The voucher sounds great - it's so lovely to go buy practical bits and bobs for the baby isn't it - feels wonderfully strange that this will be our lives - nappes and wipes and muslins and sick! DP and I bought a few bits in the sales and it made it all feel very real (cos you know, the bump, kicks, scans etc clearly are just a happy dream, right? Wink)

mamma sorry about your DP getting drunk - I hate being around pissed people, fortunately DP rarely drinks (he's been drunk once in the nearly 14 years we've been together!) and I don't really drink either so it isn't something I have to deal with very often (we don't really socialise at pubs etc with friends that drink; do dinners, coffee dates etc instead) Glad he apologised and made it up to you though!

Kayzr yay for movement! Fingers crossed for your scan next week!

Bun so sorry you had a rubbish new years eve :( Hope you are getting well looked after by DP and are feeling better!

All this talk of labour bags etc is so scary/exciting! I'm just coming up on 26 weeks and as my niece was born at 30 weeks I should really sort myself out and get organised! DP and I have sadly made no progress on fuzzy's room this xmas as we've been ill... xmas day evening I fell sick with a tummy bug (managed not to puke, but the less said about the other end... Blush) and a high temp and spent boxing day completely flaked out on the sofa in really awful pain with my guts and fever. Took about 5 days to properly shake it and feel better, so we had to cancel all our plans - then just as I was feeling better DP came down with a cough/coldy thing and he's currently sat on the sofa in his PJs feeling rough... Not the best end to the year/start to 2012... but we have got to spend pretty much the entire break alone together which has been lovely, despite illness. I really do need to get on with fuzzy's room / house tidying now though - am very aware that fuzzy could arrive soon if things go bad, so want to get sorted so I can relax and stop worrying about being ready!!

Fortunately we made it out to see the consultant on the 29th (was worrying about going up the hospital if I was still poorly, didn't want to share the germs around, but the nasty infectious bit had passed by then, just felt knackered and weak by the 29th) She's really pleased with how everything is going. She has said that as the weeks go by they will use the abdominal circumference measurement they take at the scans as the main indicator of how he's doing. Which is great, as this is currently the largest/higher centile measurement he has! Grin She has checked over the interactions with my meds and signed off on me having gaviscon - she prescribed me a big bottle of the extra strong stuff, so I have finally had a some sleep! 3 nights now I've slept through from midnight till around 7am without waking to wee or in pain from heartburn; is bliss!!

We also finally got to hear fuzzy's heartbeat! As we don't see a midwife we'd never had a doppler - I asked my obst if she'd mind quickly letting us have a listen and she was lovely and did it straight away for us! Even suggested/let us record it on DP's phone!! Was amazing Grin

I have my physio appt sorted for next week, which is great and my next scan is this Thursday - can't wait! Grin Despite the sicky end to last year/start to this year i'm feeling very excited and happy about the coming year - bring it on! Grin

Davinaaddict · 01/01/2012 21:06

Happy New Year everyone! Glad to see some old faces again (and by that, of course I mean radiant and blooming lovelies) Grin Lots to catch up on, so I'll try not to make this too much of an epic post and will no doubt fail miserably

I'm sure you'll be completely ready when the lovely Pirate makes her appearance Bun Although they do say further babies come earlier so sounds like keeping your legs crossed might be a good plan until you're done Grin. So sorry your NY started badly - hope you're feeling better now.

Sorry you were feeling weepy & emotional the other day Mamma Hope the hormones have backed off a bit now. Sounds like your DH was a bit of a pain the other night - hope the hangover was terrible for him and you had no sympathy for him Grin And if course that he has bent over backwards trying to make it up since! Nice that you got an apology. I hate when DH does that and the smell is bloody awful, especially in the bedroom the following morning, even if I leave the window open - men! Grin Mine is allegedly going to have a 'year off the beer' this year. I'll be very surprised if he manages it although he probably won't have any social life if he does. He only drinks when he's out or we're entertaining (he had about 2 mouthfuls of Sol out if a bottle with last nights fajitas - even I managed a full bottle!) Yay for baby turnip! Not long before you'll get to see baby again Smile

Hi Kayzr - must try harder! Grin. I gave up trying to keep up with all the different regular threads so I completely understand. Glad you're still here though. Lucky you having an extra scan! I bet you're really looking forward to that - fingers crossed that baby plays nice and let's you know what the sex is. Lovely that you're getting flutterings too. Congrats to your DP on getting a new job. That's great, although a shame about having to put the wedding back. Have you decided when you'll be rearranging it for yet?

ghosteditor · 01/01/2012 21:11

Hey Davina! My resolution is to end 2012 a few stone lighter than when I started it - so long as I lose the baby weight I'll be fine Wink. That and not to waste the year off that I'll be getting with my PFB! (PFB better put in an appearance soon if we're going to get a year)...

Davinaaddict · 01/01/2012 22:59

That sounds very similar to mine - I NEED to fit back in my work wardrobe by the time I go back to work so planning to make time for getting fit once baby comes. My friend lost all her baby weight from 2 babies by doing wii Zumba 3 times a week (20mins) do I am hopeful or should that be deluded that I can manage it, especially as I've already got DH's buy in Grin It will be a challenge in 6 months though! I might start a motivational thread just before I start (which may become more of a blog if no-one else joins in!Grin)

I've started my first list for tomorrow - it was getting a bit long so I've now got 2 lists - one overall, and one daily. That way, if I have a good day I can do more, but make sure the daily list is kept manageable on the not so good days (even if it just consists of getting up, dressed & playing with DS all day!). Feeling very positive about 2012 now!

trope · 02/01/2012 11:17

Similar resolution here, not so much weight loss though as getting fit again once fuzzy has arrived. The fitter I am the less likely I am to relapse/the slower any relapse will be, so as soon as possible after the birth I want/need to get back to some proper exercise. I am so jealous of everyone starting new years fitness plans/going to the gym/even going jogging in the rain - I desperately miss proper exercise but there's just no way I can manage anything at this point!

Weight wise i've not gained a huge amount, virtually nothing until around 20 weeks - i'm currently about 5.5kg heavier than I was pre-pregnancy, so unless I start packing on the pounds in the final 3 months then hopefully I won't have too much to shift post fuzzy! Extra weight is awful for arthritis so I'm hoping that i'll be able to keep the weight gain in check - don't want to make recovering from pregnancy any harder than it already will be!!

Davina liking the daily lists - I usually have a big to-do list on the go, with things picked out to get done each day. I've been sadly slack on this front since getting pregnant, but the rapidly approaching due date is giving me the kick up the bum I need to get on with it!! DP is back to work tomorrow (assuming he's shifted his bug - he's a little better today so we may even get to leave the house - shock horror!!Wink) so I will be free to get on unhindered with all my tidying up and organising! Grin I can't wait to have a clean and tidy, decluttered home ready for fuzzy to live in!

Davinaaddict · 02/01/2012 17:29

Well, most successful day today according to my list. Managed to get everything done I wanted and more as well as sneaking in an afternoon nap on the sofa Grin So all signs of Christmas are now packed away and I just need to persuade DH to put them in the loft at some point, all the washing is done except the last load needs to dry. Back to the grindstone that is work tomorrow - boooo! It'll be strange not having DH & DS here, especially as I'm working from home all week Grin

Had a bit of a Shock last night though - I've put on 2st in the last 6 months!!!! Which in itself is not too bad, until I read that I'll probably put on another stone in the next 3 months! I'll need to do LOTS of exercise to shift all that in 6 months Confused Great that you've not put on much with your arthritis trope I'm finding this pregnancy difficult enough, without having to worry about that as well Sad Although I imagine it's a good motivation to steer away from eating lots of unhealthy stuff Smile Here's to no relapses Wine. Glad your DP is feeling better - hope you managed to get out!

ghosteditor · 02/01/2012 18:01

Hi Davina, that's a similar amount of weight to me - I put on a 1lb a week at first Blush. I usually exercise a lot and hadn't quite adjusted the food accordingly, plus I had a lot of muscle and obvs need fat for bfeeding. It's been a shock though and I have serious exercise plans to shift it afterwards. Am a bit Blush though - I should know better!

Are we almost ready for a new thread? What do you want to call it? And is the 2012 thread still active; are we expecting new members still? Wink

Davinaaddict · 02/01/2012 21:56

Ooh almost - only room for another 8 posts! I'm thinking we stick with the theme if everyone agrees? The old thread is still going (I have a lurk from time to time Blush), and it would be nice to see some more new faces - still a couple of months to go.

Loving the excuse reason for laying down extra fat stores for bfeeding ghost Grin. I think so far, mine is mostly baby, extra blood etc. I've been quite good this time and seem to be carrying less fat than last time - yay! Although if last time was anything to go by, most of the excess landed in the last 2 weeks anyway, so who knows what we'll be like by the time the babies actually arrive..... Shock

I'm currently driving myself nuts trying to sort out DS's new bedroom. He's currently got a gorgeous room with Fisher Price's Precious Planet wall stickers on it (I'll post some photos if I remember next time I'm on the laptop). I'd like to do something similar for his new bedroom but am struggling to find the right sort of thing that is not too babyish or specifically themed (I think it's likely we'll have to change it more often it's a Thomas room for example). But can't find anything suitable Angry I've looked through pages & pages of EBay & Amazon, & come to the conclusion I'm jut too bloody fussy! Might just have to bite the bullet and do a themed one I think - grrrr! Anyway off to bed for an early night as got to be up early in the morning! Nite all!

Davinaaddict · 02/01/2012 22:22

Just seen on fbook that 1 Born Every Minute is back on tv on Wednesday 9pm Channel 4 (I think!) for anyone that is brave enough to watch it, before we start having our own babies Grin

ghosteditor · 02/01/2012 23:43

I'd love to see pics of the room, sounds awesome! Have you thought about using wall decals (hope link works, am on phone!) which will just peel off without damaging the wall? Seems like a good way to redecorate easily without decorating the whole room...

My vote is the same theme for the thread! I'll see if I can volunteer a thread baby before this one ends, but it's pretty unlikely, no real signs at 38+4 Sad

ghosteditor · 02/01/2012 23:44

Oh yes and I do like OBEM but have been advised to stay away now that I'm pregnant - but really I do know that they film on a fairly high risk unit so they generate more stories! May wait until after the birth I think Wink

Carlitawantsabauble · 03/01/2012 17:34

I hope we'll get a few more from the TTC thread, will we keep this one then move it into post natal clubs at the end of 2012 when everyone has has their babies?
I love OBEM and shall be watching tomorrow! Grin

ghosteditor · 03/01/2012 18:04

I can now guarantee that there will be no thread baby this time around - still no real impending labour signs here Sad

Carlitawantsababy · 03/01/2012 20:58

Sad ghost, hope you're not kept waiting too long! Would you like to do the honours with the new thread? It used to get people pregnant on the TTC thread (trope last) so maybe it'll encourage your baby to be born? Grin

OP posts:
ghosteditor · 03/01/2012 22:19

Thanks Carlita Grin

I think I've managed to start the new thread - couldn't figure it out on the app but have managed it on the mobile site.

Here's the new thread - may it bring many babies!!!!

ghosteditor · 03/01/2012 22:20

The end Smile
