ghost hurrah for pamplemousse not being transverse anymore! Can't believe you're 35 weeks - not long at all to go! So exciting!
Fingers crossed for your blood pressure coming down! I think you've done amazingly to still be working at this stage - hope you can start winding down in these last few weeks!
Kayzr glad the scan went well!
Carlita WOOO! Congratulation to your sister - that's fantastic! How lovely to have the twins home for xmas! Enjoy your newborn snuggles! I'm so very
!!
Well I had my scan yesterday afternoon and fuzzy has grown. Fuzzy has, in fact, grown rather a lot. He's nearly doubled in weight!! He's gone from well below the 10th centile (as in, resting on the bottom of the chart) to just shy of the 50th centile, in just 2 weeks! Clearly a healthy diet of shortbread and days spent mumsnetting on the sofa is the way to go!
He's gone from very low down - 10-20th centile on most other measurements - to around 50 on everything. His abdominal circumference is up over the 50th centile! His estimated weight has gone from 267g to 465g!! You could actually see the difference in him on the scan; he was chunkier looking! Was amazing! Both the sonographer and midwife/consultant (not sure who she was, but she reviewed the report on the day unit for me) were gobsmacked at his progress! So all is good, they will keep doing the fortnightly scans so he's closely monitored, but for now we can breathe a huge sigh of relief!
He was being quite wriggly, but not too unhelpful for the scan this time. At one point he was sucking one hand while appearing to scratch his arse with the other!! Definitely a boy!
He seems to play with his fingers and toes a lot, which is really lovely to watch! I do find the scans very emotional - one person I know with 3 kids reckons that you get bored of the scans as you go on, but I'm still loving every single second of them!! They are just amazing!
I've popped the scan pics up on my profile (couldn't resist getting some as it was such a lovely clear view of him - suspect i'm going to end up spending a fortune on scan pics with fortnightly scans!!) Rather brilliantly, I was out of the hospital in time to have a quick dinner with my dad before going on to heathrow to pick up DP. (Who is back at work today
)
I think all the stress of the low weight/scans really wore me out more than I realised though - after DP left for work this morning I fell asleep on the sofa for 3 hours! I've now had a bath and a lazy carb heavy lunch and am debating whether to do anything more active than lying on the sofa watching er boxsets! There's lots I should be doing, but I still feel exhausted and very emotional & filled with relief at fuzzy doing better so I may just have a super lazy day as a treat!
It's DPs work do tonight, but we're giving it a miss; he's knackered, i'm knackered and neither of us much feel like spending our first evening together after his trip around other people. Plus it's pissing down and 60mph winds down here, hardly the kind of weather to make you want to dress up and go out!
I haven't actually opened the bed nest yet - will get DP to do it with me on the weekend I think! Will build it and attach it to the bed, so we can see what it will be like! Am very excited!!
