Merry Christmas every one (better late than never
)! Hope you've all had a fabulous time. We're now on day 3 of Christmas, which will be the best I think, as it's just the 3 of us. It's great spending time with family but we've spent the last 2 days pleasing everyone else & not really getting to enjoy our Christmas really. So DH is at M&S picking up a few bits for dinner (roast duck today - yum yum!) & I'm lazing in bed waiting for DS to wake up. Bliss!
Next year we've decided that Christmas Day will be just for us - no setting the alarm on Christmas morning (am sure DS will take care of that for us!), no driving miles so that we have to stay off the alcohol completely (although it's not a boozy affair anyway with 2 kids of course - just nice to be able to have more than one), no being so tired that you probably shouldn't be driving anyway, and no not being able to put the kids to bed when they need it, not having to bundle them in the car and sing all the way home so they don't cry all the way. Just a lovely crazy day at home, and I can't wait!
As this thread has again been knocked off my Threads I'm On list, it looks like I've some catching up to do!
Hi Mamma - cross post! Hats off to the MNing whilst on a conference call. It's great when you have to be on the call so no other interruptions, and you can MN do other things. I have to be careful which calls I do that on though - been caught out a couple of times and had to play the "sorry, can you repeat the question, as I lost you mid sentence" card
I know no-one actually believes that though
. Lovely you are feeling movements from your little pear - I think mine is a butternut squash now (squash being the most appropriate word!)
Sorry about the lack of funding Bun - it must be really frustrating for you. Have you any idea when he will be coughing up? Can you send the boys round take legal advice? Thanks for the mince pies - is it too early for a Christmas Baileys
If I don't get back on before your appointment tomorrow, just want to say good luck
Hope we're not missing out on a better thread somewhere ..... I hate missing out! But this thread is so lovely, so I don't really believe that anyway
Yay for coming back trope Sorry you had a busy & feeling crap week last week - hope your feeling better now. Socks & shoes definitely a struggle these days! And I still have another 11 weeks to go so it's not looking good....think I may have to stop going out, or live in slippers/flip flops (not much good when the snow comes!). Great news about your scan - look forward to seeing the photo
Yay for low BP Ghost and for being so close now. Babies are so exciting!
Hi Ellie
at you doing a night shift on Christmas Eve! That most be rubbish
. Hope you managed to enjoy Christmas and get some sleep. You're definitely NBU in wanting movement at 19 weeks, especially when everyone will no doubt be saying its normal not to feel movement until 20-22 weeks with DC1
. Have you got your scan booked in yet? Will it be next week? Carlita & I have the same understanding on raspberry leaf tea, although I didn't realise you could take it quite that early!
Thanks for all your lovely comments on Paige -they weren't necessary, but I do appreciate them!
Ok best get up as DH is back, and DS is starting to stir lazy little bum that he is
Before I go though, thought I'd leave you with an extract from my Baby Centre app from Christmas Day - it made me chuckle!
"Some old friends, heartburn and constipation, may make an unwelcome return around now. The pregnancy hormone progesterone relaxes smooth muscle tissue throughout your body, including your gut. This relaxation slows digestion, which in turn can cause wind and heartburn, especially after a big meal. It can contribute to constipation as well. And of course your increasingly crowded belly is not making digestion any easier.

To ease heartburn:
Try not to have food and drinks that can make heartburn worse, such as rich, high fat or spicy dishes, chocolate, citrus fruits, alcohol and coffee.
Eat small meals often. This gives your stomach less time to build up acid because food neutralises the stomach acid.
Take time over your food. Eat small mouthfuls and chew your food well.
Keep an upright posture, particularly during and just after meals. Try not to lie down for at least an hour after eating.
If heartburn is worse at night, try not to eat or drink anything for the three hours before you go to bed." Of all the days to get that on, Christmas Day had to be the most fitting! Needless to say, I ignored it
Hope you all have a lovely day!
