Good morning all, hope you've had lovely weekends!
Happy belated birthday carlita hope you had a great time on the Isle of Wight!
OK, lots to catch up on, this is going to be long! Sorry in advance for the essay!!
Mamma Yep, got a print out of the scan pics, then took photos with my good camera rather than my phone so i'd get a nice clear picture.
carlita - working part time & freelance is definite best for me, gives me the flexibility to rest up when I need to - I just decline work if I'm not up to doing it. I have had a long period of time doing none at all; keeping my stress levels low etc while we were TTC. I had one client approach me mid summer, but they were completely nuts, so I declined the work and am only just now sorting out the details with a new client (a friend of DP doing a start up games company) for what looks likely to be a very light work load for the first few months, with a busier period when they launch their game. We are in the very fortunate position of DP earning enough to pay the mortgage etc, so any money I earn is extra. We had always hoped that one of us would be able to stay home until any kids we had were at school and with me doing home based freelance, it's looking like we'll actually be able to achieve that! After a really difficult few years financially (the games industry was hit very hard in the recession) it's an amazing feeling to finally have some stability and a steady income again.
Great that you have local knowledge of Hastings from your Mum & Step dad - will save you so much time researching where is good/bad! When we moved to Hove we spent ages driving and walking around the back roads working out where we liked/could afford! Doing the places up and selling on sounds like a good plan, Hasting's is supposed to be "up and coming" isn't it? Our house is/was a do-er upper - gives us hope it might actually be worth at least what we paid for it!
(we bought in May 2007 - absolute peak of the boom :( )
I have started clearing out my office ready to make it the babies room - our house is now a complete tip, but it's one of those got to make a mess to make it better situations!!
carlita & bun OMG lactating already! Wow! Had no idea that could happen so early! Will now be nervously checking my nipples for leakage!!
Bun not heard of JMB sewing machines, but looked online and they look great - lots of good reviews!
mamma - WOW! I took a look at your FB shop and it's great - what fantastic fabric - your stuff is lovely!
fools "HUGS" - your DS sounds absolutely lovely! Love the idea of number two coming out "vomiting slime and head rotating"!!!
Sorry to hear about your dog though :(
davina how lovely to have a pregnancy buddy!
mamma "eating tonnes of fruit and nuts" - I totally misread that as tonnes of "fruit and nut" as in Cadbuys fruit and nut!! It still counts if it's coated in chocolate right?
peapop the genetic tests sound a bit scary, but great that they are being so thorough and explaining everything! Sorry to hear about the spotting - will keep my fingers crossed for you! I haven't had any bleeding, but I know people that have had and have gone on to have perfectly healthy babies!
carlita Hurrah for being home based for work! Now you just have to resist the urge to eat biscuits all day and check mumsnet all the time!
(Not that I do that... oh no...)
davina re meeting your DP -ooh scandal! You brazen hussy you!!
Kayzr - welcome!! Have put the latest stats (hope I haven't missed anyone off it!) and updated my EDD with the new post scan date!

I had a lovely weekend - met up with Bun at the NCT sale (can confirm she has a lovely football sized bump!
am most jealous!) bought some nice brightly coloured baby clothes and a few maternity bits. Then had a wonderful fried breakfast (for lunch) with DP at our favourite local restaurant! Mmm, fried bread... Was very naughty and had runny yolk in my fried eggs, couldn't resist!! After that a walk on the beach before retiring to the sofa for the rest of the day. Yesterday was less fun; we de-moulded our bathroom, it was gross! It's spangly and clean now though, so was totally worth it!
To do the "about me" thing; I'm 32 (33 next week!) met my DP in an A-level English class at the local tech (when i was a mere 18)! We got together a year later when I was 19 (he was 21) and we've been smitten ever since! We both work in the video games industry, he's a games designer and I do marketing and project management, these days on a freelance basis as it's easier to manage my health problems that way. We live in Hove, have no kids or pets but do have a substantial collection of gaming consoles!
Can't really begin to imagine just how much our lives are going to change with the arrival of fuzzy, but we're looking forward to expanding our little family!
