Hi all! Well done again kayzr, I knew it!

Happy birthday Carlita, hope you are having a lovely time and are being spoilt rotten!

Peapop, any news? Have my fingers crossed all is fine with you and baby.

Everyone else, hello!

Kayzr · 09/10/2011 18:30

Just worked out due date is 21st June. That's the day before my mums birthday.

BunMyOven · 09/10/2011 18:42

Peapop, so sorry I missed you out earlier, I hadn't read your post! How are you feeling today?

peapop · 09/10/2011 19:19

Congratulations kayzr great news! Def trust it!! Smile

Thanks for the kind words ladies. We ended up going to a&e at lunchtime as more spotting and still have cramps. They tested my hcg levels and still high so they said as far as they were concerned everything was fine but they have booked me in for an early scan on Tuesday. Feels like a lifetime away. Both my sisters had spotting early on so I'm hoping it is just normal for me, you can't help but worry though.

Kayzr · 10/10/2011 07:13

Peapop I had spotting and cramps with DS2. It was terrifying, I had a scan and everything was fine. I was told it can be quite normal to have a small amount of spotting around the time you would have had your period. Hope it all goes well.

peapop · 10/10/2011 07:58

Thanks kayzr Both my sisters said the same thing but you're right it's terrifying. I had more last night and totally broke down, dp was amazing though and calmed me down. Have called in sick to work today at his insistence and luckily my manager (who I don't really get on with) was very understanding and kind and said to just call her after the scan.

MammaInTheMaking · 10/10/2011 10:18

Goodness peapop no wonder you are so scared. And good for not going into work today. I hope the spotting really settles down and you can relax...

Carlita did you have a lovely birthday? What did you get up to on the IOW?

So nice for you to get your BFP Kayzr. You just knew it would be didn't you :) Spotted you on the June thread. I'm on that too but not doing much posting on it. More lurking.

Nausea has calmed down but boobs are SORE!! I just washed an apple in the kitchen at work and shook the water off it. Was all for grabbing my boobs because it hurt so much! I'm only a B cup (if that really) so any change would be very noticeable!

Saw my pregnant friend this weekend. She's 19 weeks now. Other friends were asking her things about pregnacy all weekend and i was so desperate to butt in with stuff when she didn't know the answer. But had to hold my tongue... Am going to give my GP a ring and arrange an app for when i'm after 6 weeks. Will ask for an early scan, i hope he says yes.

trope · 10/10/2011 10:50

Good morning all, hope you've had lovely weekends!

Happy belated birthday carlita hope you had a great time on the Isle of Wight! Grin

OK, lots to catch up on, this is going to be long! Sorry in advance for the essay!!

Mamma Yep, got a print out of the scan pics, then took photos with my good camera rather than my phone so i'd get a nice clear picture.

carlita - working part time & freelance is definite best for me, gives me the flexibility to rest up when I need to - I just decline work if I'm not up to doing it. I have had a long period of time doing none at all; keeping my stress levels low etc while we were TTC. I had one client approach me mid summer, but they were completely nuts, so I declined the work and am only just now sorting out the details with a new client (a friend of DP doing a start up games company) for what looks likely to be a very light work load for the first few months, with a busier period when they launch their game. We are in the very fortunate position of DP earning enough to pay the mortgage etc, so any money I earn is extra. We had always hoped that one of us would be able to stay home until any kids we had were at school and with me doing home based freelance, it's looking like we'll actually be able to achieve that! After a really difficult few years financially (the games industry was hit very hard in the recession) it's an amazing feeling to finally have some stability and a steady income again.

Great that you have local knowledge of Hastings from your Mum & Step dad - will save you so much time researching where is good/bad! When we moved to Hove we spent ages driving and walking around the back roads working out where we liked/could afford! Doing the places up and selling on sounds like a good plan, Hasting's is supposed to be "up and coming" isn't it? Our house is/was a do-er upper - gives us hope it might actually be worth at least what we paid for it! Wink (we bought in May 2007 - absolute peak of the boom :( )

I have started clearing out my office ready to make it the babies room - our house is now a complete tip, but it's one of those got to make a mess to make it better situations!!

carlita & bun OMG lactating already! Wow! Had no idea that could happen so early! Will now be nervously checking my nipples for leakage!!

Bun not heard of JMB sewing machines, but looked online and they look great - lots of good reviews!

mamma - WOW! I took a look at your FB shop and it's great - what fantastic fabric - your stuff is lovely! Grin

fools "HUGS" - your DS sounds absolutely lovely! Love the idea of number two coming out "vomiting slime and head rotating"!!!

Sorry to hear about your dog though :(

davina how lovely to have a pregnancy buddy!

mamma "eating tonnes of fruit and nuts" - I totally misread that as tonnes of "fruit and nut" as in Cadbuys fruit and nut!! It still counts if it's coated in chocolate right? Wink

peapop the genetic tests sound a bit scary, but great that they are being so thorough and explaining everything! Sorry to hear about the spotting - will keep my fingers crossed for you! I haven't had any bleeding, but I know people that have had and have gone on to have perfectly healthy babies!

carlita Hurrah for being home based for work! Now you just have to resist the urge to eat biscuits all day and check mumsnet all the time! Wink (Not that I do that... oh no...)

davina re meeting your DP -ooh scandal! You brazen hussy you!! Wink

Kayzr - welcome!! Have put the latest stats (hope I haven't missed anyone off it!) and updated my EDD with the new post scan date!

I had a lovely weekend - met up with Bun at the NCT sale (can confirm she has a lovely football sized bump! Wink am most jealous!) bought some nice brightly coloured baby clothes and a few maternity bits. Then had a wonderful fried breakfast (for lunch) with DP at our favourite local restaurant! Mmm, fried bread... Was very naughty and had runny yolk in my fried eggs, couldn't resist!! After that a walk on the beach before retiring to the sofa for the rest of the day. Yesterday was less fun; we de-moulded our bathroom, it was gross! It's spangly and clean now though, so was totally worth it!

To do the "about me" thing; I'm 32 (33 next week!) met my DP in an A-level English class at the local tech (when i was a mere 18)! We got together a year later when I was 19 (he was 21) and we've been smitten ever since! We both work in the video games industry, he's a games designer and I do marketing and project management, these days on a freelance basis as it's easier to manage my health problems that way. We live in Hove, have no kids or pets but do have a substantial collection of gaming consoles! Wink Can't really begin to imagine just how much our lives are going to change with the arrival of fuzzy, but we're looking forward to expanding our little family! Grin

My 'about me' sounds quite bad I think. Blush I am 25 and I have 2 boys. Freddie is 4, 5 in march and Dylan is 2, 3 in december. I am divorced and about to get married again in a few months. 17th Feb so very excited about that. I met DP in the pub, I knew his friends and DP works away so I met him when he got home from work. I am a stay at home mum as childcare cost more than I got paid.

Peapop glad things are looking less worrying (though I'm sure you're just as worried) and that your DP and work are looking after you Smile

Have finally started buying baby goodies! Picked up some vests, blankets and cardigans from the NCT sale (Trope has a sharp eye for non-pink/blue baby clothes! I could hardly find anything!). DS and I took a trip to a shop I'd been recommended nearby this morning (you may want to pay it a visit Trope - 'Poppets' on Blatchington Road in Hove), they had a lovely selection of amazing quality new and second hand clothes in lots of colours(!) and some gorgeous toys and goodies. I got some more vests (50p each!) and sleep suits (£2 each) - couldn't resist - and some more damned fires engines for DS.

My little blurb: I'm 24 and met DP(27) back when I was doing work experience for my GCSE's; he was working there and tried to get me to do all his crap jobs until I told him to get off his arse and do some of it himself seen as I wasn't getting paid to work there! Grin We were Just Friends for a while because we were both cynical about the age gap (I was 15/16 he was 18/19) but admitted defeat Wink after a month or two (by this time I was 16 so nothing illegal went on) Grin 9 years later, we have a gorgeous DS(2.5), a DD on the way, are engaged and live in Hove (we both grew up and met in N.Wales).

I'm hungry and am going to make some super noodles Blush

BunMyOven · 10/10/2011 12:44

Sorry, x-posted with you Kayzr. Doesn't sound bad at all, no need to Blush - it's not like you're having super noodles for lunch for Christ's sake! Wink Congratulations on the wedding! How are the plans going?

Wedding plans are going well. Everything is sorted really, we've bought and paid for nearly everything we need. The one big problem is my dress. I haven't bought it yet as I had to wait and find out if I was pregnant.

MammaInTheMaking · 10/10/2011 12:47

Aaawww i'm loving everyone's stories.

Happy birthday Bun

Carlitawantsababy · 10/10/2011 14:13

Ooh, busy here today! We had an amazing weekend in IoW, got totally spoilt and walked our dog on lots of lovely beaches. Got some great pressies too. I'm now 30 if a computer user could please update the stats whilst they're being refreshed?! Really hoping we're going to have babybrain back soon! Smile

OP posts:
foolserrand · 10/10/2011 15:04

Wow! So lively here today. Thought I'd pop in while ds callously ignores me plays farms. He has a pig called Ham. Would love to know where that name came from Hmm.

Peapop, hope you are taking it easy today. Hurrah for your boss. Sounds promising that its likely nothing, something really serious and you'd have been sent for a scan straight away.

Carlita, sounds like you had a fantastic time. Walking, presents, fresh air, quiet... heaven! You have not made me want to book a break away myself. I am not jealous much Envy

Happy birthday Bun!

Kayzr the wedding plans sound wonderful.

Loving the stories all! Ours... I'm 28. Was once a science geek trapped in a lab, which is where I met dh, he was in the offices. Started dating after 3 years of friendship, got a dog. Got the other dog. Was diagnosed as having a nasty kidney infection, couldn't shift it. Second opinion tells us we are expecting ds. Got married at some point in all of that. He was only meant to be a rebound thing. Funny how life works out.

That probably makes very little sense, but am being shouted at now to join in! Typical :o

Has anyone found folic acid doesn't agree with them? I always know when I have forgotten it because I don't feel ill. Oh, and another with rancid, crusty, colostrum boobs here. Dammit!

Kayzr · 10/10/2011 16:07

I gave up smoking about 3 weeks ago. I hadn't wanted one for about 10 days and for some reason I crave one now. I hope it's not going to be my pregnancy craving. My mums never smoked but craved them really bad when she was pregnant with my brother.

Carlita I hope Babybrain joins us soon too. I feel like I've left her alone ttc as everyone but us got their BFPs and now I have.

BunMyOven · 10/10/2011 17:00

Sorry, I worded that badly, It's not my birthday today Sad it was last month, I just hadn't thought to change my age on the stats until now. Thanks though! Grin

Kayzr you're very organised! I still need to get the town hall booked for the ceremony! We're getting married August next year (on our 10th anniversary), it's going to be a really private thing though - just 20 or so of our nearest and dearest Smile
I gave up smoking when I found out I was pregnant with DS (he was a big surprise and I didn't find out until I was 6months gone!) and haven't looked back since, minus the odd little hankering. It's really weird because I smoked for about 8 years and tried (and failed) I don't know how many times to quit before that.

I'm very excited because I've just ordered lots of lovely crafty things to make Christmas cards and decorations - felt, buttons, card, patterned paper etc. Will finish the patchwork tonight Smile

babybrain3 · 10/10/2011 17:47

Hi girls, just having a sneaky peak, hopefully I will be able to join you properly soon... Hope you don't mind me dropping in? Blush

I should have a definite answer by this time next week, but so far.... Have been getting crampy feelings, boobs feel full and weird shooting type pains, and felt a bit sickly today, oh. And really tired... Spent most of Saturday afternoon asleep! My fingers are firmly crossed and I am sincerely hoping my body isn't playing mean tricks on me!!!!

Carlitawantsababy · 10/10/2011 19:58

Fingers crossed babybrain! Grin

OP posts:
Kayzr · 10/10/2011 20:18

I've just had some spotting. AF isn't meant to be here til tomorrow so I'm worried that the tests are all wrong. Sad

babybrain3 · 10/10/2011 21:05

Oh kayzr I am keeping my fingers very tightly crossed for you xxx

Kayzr · 10/10/2011 21:09

Thanks. I had just started believing it was real. I'm hoping it's maybe just implantation

BunMyOven · 10/10/2011 22:14

Hi Babybrain! You're more than welcome, the more the merrier Grin Fingers firmly crossed for you, sounds very promising!

Kayzr false positives are very rare, especially multiple ones and like you said to Peapop it's fairly common to have spotting at around the time AF is normally due (I still got full on light periods for the first 5months of pregnancy with DS!). Try to stay positive Smile

It's done! I finished the patchwork tonight! Hoorah! Well, still need to turn it into something useful but that's going to have to wait until after Christmas now - desperate for a break from it Smile
