Wow trope your scan pics are fantastic!! So amazing!

davina 14.5 hour day?!?! Blimey! I can barely manage an 8 hour day! Hope your not feeling too shattered today!

mamma your stuff is gorgeous! I've recently taken up knitting for a few homemade items but you've put me to shame with your things! They're brilliant!

MammaInTheMaking · 06/10/2011 18:24

Oohhh peapop have you tried crochet? It's so much easier than knitting! Smile

MammaInTheMaking · 06/10/2011 18:24

Also thanks VERY much for the compliments xx

peapop · 06/10/2011 19:20

No I've never tried crochet, I always assumed it was really difficult! Definitely have to give it a go then! I love making things! I usually make cards and little painted wooden name signs but have branched out recently and plan on making as many homemade items for my little one as I can! Smile

Davinaaddict · 06/10/2011 20:18

Hi ladies - time for a proper catch up after a much shorter day today! Love my boss - she ordered me off the premises at half 3, to go home, put my feet up & drink milkshake Grin.

I've had a look at your lovely site mamma. Gorgeous fabrics you've used. Nice that you have a RL pregnancy buddy too. Yay for sore & growing boobs & lots of peeing! Well that's a sentence I never thought I'd type Grin

ghost - can't believe it's interview time already. That's going far too quick - only 15 weeks till you get to meet your gorgeous baby! That book fair sounds horrendous - hope you manage to get a bit of rest during it, otherwise I think you may well be broken women afterwards. But at least you would gave a fabulous excuse for staying in bed for about a week Grin

Hope the lip and everything else feels better fools. Must admit, your story did make me giggle (whilst feeling a little bit guilty). Like idea of the violin btw I've not used the Bear or Flowers before but I think there are so many we could have like ? (no idea if that will work as it's an icon from my phone. If not it's a slice of cake!)

Hi peapop - good to see you back again. Sorry about the exhaustion - I really suffered with it during my 1st trimester so you have my sympathy. Hopefully, you'll be like me though & it will go for you in the 2nd trimester too. The testing sounds a bit worrying, but fingers crossed it all comes back clear for you.

Glad you can work from home now Carlita. That will take some pressure off and you'll get loads more time to rest too. No travel and just being able to stick a load of washing on during the day makes such a big difference.

Fab scan trope and great that you absolutely must have a bar of chocolate before any check up scan, for medical reasons Grin

Going to have an early night so as to have a more productive day in the office tomorrow. Hope you all have a great Friday Smile PS it's another Euro millions roll over -£100m anyone??

MammaInTheMaking · 06/10/2011 22:08

Yeah why not, could do with a spare million or 2. Just on my way home from dinner with friends. Can't wait til the day I can tell them what's going on in my belly!!!!

Crocheting is waaaaayyyyyy easier and so much quicker too. Go for it!

BunMyOven · 07/10/2011 08:37

Mamma, love your work! Absolutely gorgeous fabrics.

It's lovely having friends pregnant at the same time, my best friends is pregnant too, due in November but she lives in Australia so we've been really missing out and feeling sorry for ourselves!

My 'wee record' is 3 times in half an hour. Just ridiculous isn't it? My uterus is apparently the size of a football now (there's a lovely image for you!) and it's not half putting pressure on my bladder Grin

Ghost all that clicking sounds awful! I freak out when my friends clicks his knuckles all the time! I've also heard that there's no link between clicking joints and arthritis thankfully Smile

Very exciting that your interviewing you maternity cover, I really can't believe how quickly these pregnancies are going! I'm 24 weeks today and have nothing ready. Off to an NCT sale (with lovely Trope) tomorrow though so will hopefully come home with lots of goodies - can't wait! Smile

Carlita great news about being able to work from bed home! Grin

Trope congratulations on your scan and being a week further along! The pictures are beautiful! Did you have the scan at the Royal Sussex? Did you have Anita? The quality of the pictures suggests not Grin

Davina your boss sounds great! Mmmm milkshake!

I was torn between learning knitting or crochet next - looks like it'll be crochet! On my last row of patchwork now, can't wait to get it finished now!

MammaInTheMaking · 07/10/2011 09:54

Aaawwww all you ladies so far along. By my calculations i'm 5 weeks today, haha.

So Trope and Bun know eachother? Does anyone else know anyone else?

A bit on me...I'm a Londoner, just turned 27. Civil Servant. Love making things and being creative that way (not in an arty drawing way). DP and i work in the same office, infact he sits 1 row of desks away from me...talk about joined at the hip!

Carlitawantsababy · 07/10/2011 16:08

I've always wanted to know how to crochet, I love crocheted things and am SO bad at knitting!
trope and bun know each other from the TTC thread (nice eh?) and both live in Brighton area. I'm I'm London too mamma until January ish any way when I'll move to Hastings. I manage some services for people on the autism spectrum. Did you and DP meet at work? Smile

OP posts:
MammaInTheMaking · 07/10/2011 16:35

Yes we did meet at work. Worked in the same place for a couple of years and had mutual friends and then one day i found out i was in his "Top 5"! Gave me the confidence to get chatting. The rest is history!

Ooohh crochet is really easy and so theraputic. Have you got anyone who can show you or get a book? You can make blankets for your little one too.

peapop · 07/10/2011 17:14

bun 3 times in half an hour! Yikes!

mamma I'm a civil servant too! But up in Newcastle! How do you find working with dp? I'm not sure I'd have the patience with mine Grin
Went and bought some goodies to get me started with crochet today after your recommendation! Have already found a pattern for a baby cocoon, it's adorable so hope I can do it!

Had our appointment with the geneticist (sp?!) today. She was so lovely and explained everything so well to us. Both of us had to have a blood test to see to what extent I have Alpha 1 and for dp if he's a carrier. (Should have seen him when it was his turn, he's rubbish with needles and went very white whilst saying over and over 'it's nothing this, can't even feel it' hah!)
Anyway, she said if our little one does have it too it won't be a problem unless they ever develop any respiratory or liver problems so it's more about educating us than anything so has put my mind to rest a fair bit.

How's everyone anyway? Any nice plans for the weekend?

elliebug · 07/10/2011 18:17

hello all,
quick update, been on holiday for a week in menorca, weather was lovely and the food was apparently nice, i however had all day morning sickness so i ate a lot of bread and lettuce!!! and slept, alot!! sounds like you have all been busy bees, i am determined to get out my cot sized quilt stuff and start making!! my mum is visiting in a week so will be telling her then, might just leave the cot suff out and see if she guesses!

hope you are all feeling well :)

Davinaaddict · 07/10/2011 19:44

Hi all - just wanted to say I'm SOOOOO glad it's Friday!

That is a crazy wee record bun! And what a small world - I've a friend in Sydney who's due on the 27th Oct Grin

Aw Mamma - just 5 weeks along! The baby of the group Smile. I'm in Huddersfield and work in Insurance (sounds much more boring than it actually is Smile). That's a lovely story about how you met your DH. There was a bit of a scandal with mine cos I was going out with his best mate Blush. Think I may well have just outed myself to anyone that might know me in RL but never mind!

Glad you're feeling more relaxed after your appointment peapop. We're having a lazy weekend except going to Costco to stock up on Haribo renew our membership Grin

Hope you managed to enjoy your holiday in the non sickness parts elliebug Sad

I'm just enjoying a quiet night on my own as DH is out on the beer tonight (DS is in bed). So I'm enjoying some cheese on toast with one lovely glass of rose wine as a special treat - bliss! I might even have some chocolate to finish off, just to guarantee some strange dreams Grin

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend.

Carlitawantsababy · 07/10/2011 22:07

DH, doggy and I have just arrived for a weekend away in a caravan in the isle of Wight, it is very exciting! We're here until Monday and have lots planned (pain depending) and lots of relaxation too. It's my 30th on Sunday so lots of treats! Grin

MammaInTheMaking · 08/10/2011 13:06

Feel really sick. Uurrrrrgghhhh. I'm happy about it but it's also really gross!

peapop · 08/10/2011 17:56

Aw elliebug you poor love hope you managed to enjoy some of your holiday. And mamma sorry to hear your sick, but yes at least it's for a fantabulous reason Grin
Ooo carlita Isle of Wight sounds perfect! Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

I'm a bit worried at the moment. I had some cramping on Thursday just gone, all the info we have said it was quite normal as long as wasn't too painful, which it wasn't and it had gone by the following morning. Then about an hour ago I had some brown spotting followed by a heavy, tight feeling low down. This has now turned to cramps again but the spotting is only when I wipe (sorry TMI!!)
I've just spoken to a midwife at the hospital and she said only to worry if it continues or gets any worse, or if I was overly worried then to go to A&E. My dp is on night shift so can't really help but feel worried. He thinks I should just try and rest and if I still don't feel right in the morning then he'll take me to A&E, I know he's right but so worried Sad

So sorry for the selfish winge I just had to get that out.

Davinaaddict · 08/10/2011 21:22

That sounds lovely Carlita. Hope you have a fab day tomorrow!

Sorry about the sickness Mamma I'm sure you've had loads of advice on things to try, but if it helps, I was recommended Lemon & Lime volvic and I found sipping it really helped me. Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry to hear about your worrying peapop Sad. Its the hardest thing in the world to try to stop worrying, especially when everyone is telling you to. Try to get some rest if you can, and trust your instincts. The hospital will always be happy to check you out if you are really worried, so if it will make you feel better go down. I'm sure everything will be fine and you'll just end up feeling silly in the morning Smile Do vent on here (we all do at some point or other!) Sending lots of positive thoughts Smile

Kayzr · 09/10/2011 07:57

Hello!!!!

I'm just creeping in with 2 faint BFPs!!!!

MammaInTheMaking · 09/10/2011 09:18

Yayyyy you got another this morning Kayzr!!! it's fantastic. You just knew this was it didn't you Smile

Kayzr · 09/10/2011 09:34

Yeah got another one. It's still very faint so I might get another first response or digital one for later in the week. I just hope that DP, my best friend and myself aren't seeing lines that aren't there

ghosteditor · 09/10/2011 09:46

Congratulations kayzr and welcome to the thread!

Davinaaddict · 09/10/2011 14:27

Congratulations kayzr! Grin

And happy birthday Carlita!Grin

BunMyOven · 09/10/2011 14:57

Just popping my head in to say:

Congratulations Kayzr! Three people seeing the lines? They're there for sure! Grin

Happy birthday Carlita! Hope you're having a lovely time on the Isle of Wight, my dad's side of the family all live there so I have a soft spot for the place Smile

Carlitawantsababy · 09/10/2011 15:31

Congratulations kayzr! and welcome! Grin

OP posts:
Kayzr · 09/10/2011 17:38

Oh bloody hell!! I've just thought it'd be a good idea to do one of the Internet cheapies I've got. It came up with a darker line!!! GrinGrin

Do you think it's ok to believe it yet???
