Right here's our new thread.

So who's going to be first for an early Christmas present then?

Happy New Year all, still here still pregnant!!!

38+3 today loads of BHs and aches and pains but nothing happening yet. I expected this one to be early too as DD was 15 days early but hey everyones different. Had 2 sneaky glasses of champagne last night and it was lovely gave me horrendous heartburn though. Think this has been the quietist New Year ever.

Am religiously taking RL tablets too, are you just supposed to burn the Clary Sage oil near you?

Shall we start a new thread especially for January - I think we should??? Cannot believe this is the month we will have our babies though.

Hi all, well i went for a hot curry last night b4 going to a friends to see new yrs in, i also had two rather large glasses of champers...no heartburn here tho first time in a long time that hasnt happened!! Have had two mugs of Raspberry leaf tea already and half a pinneapple....'rumpy pumpy' is on the cards for this evening although i do have to be extra careful as i have bad SPD and sciatica, along with a weak lower back due to a past op....neadless to say DH is a bit apprehensive of anything too strenuous!!!
Anyway, i have had a few shows since last Tuesday, nothing too much, but today there seems to be a lot of 'it' i am a first timer so am not sure of whether its a proper show or not, i guess i will have too wait and see.
Just taken down all the tree and put decs away, earlier than i norm would but i want it all out of the way should i suddenly go into labour, that way alls done and dusted and i dont have to worry about it later ( i say i took it down, in reality i directed DH , BLESS!!)
Going to chill abit now and watch a film, hope everyones ok, have been trying to catch up on everyone and where you are all with yr pregnancies might take me longer than i have but i will try!!

40 +3

Jaysfirst, if you've had a couple of shows than it's not likely that the really are shows. As far as I know you can onlyhave one show as there is only one plug keeping everything sealed up. A lot of women do get a lot more (non lumpy) discharge, me included. Sometimes you really wonder where it all comes from.

Thanks for asking about Thomas' health. He has been ill since Wednesday so it's a good thing I'm not having this baby just yet. He has had a high temperature but no other symptoms. With high I mean 39.8 and the poor boy gets completely lifeless until his next dose of Calpol kicks in. I went to see the GP on Thursday but we have such a stupid GP that it really seems a waste of time to go there. We were in for all of about 30 seconds and all he did was have a quick look in his ear. T wouldn't openhismouth so that was the end of the visit with a quick conclusion it must be slapped cheek disease, just because his one cheek was red. When I looked up symptoms of that later, it didn't sound like what T is going through at all. What's worse, he quickly prescribed some antibiotics and Slapped Cheek disease is a viral infection - antibiotics are no good for viral problems... Really, I'm all for GP's sticking to a strict regime but at our surgery they seem to have the presciption for antibiotics printed before you even set foot in the door! (This is not the first time this has happened either). Anyway, the boy is quite a bit better today but he still has a little way to go. I sure hope he can go to nursery on Tuesday...

Jaysfirst · 01/01/2006 17:19

Eshay, its not that they are full blown shows, i realise that there is only one plug, so to speak, it would appear that my 'plug' is coming away slowly rather than in one foul swoop. The midwife assures me that this can sometimes happen and that its just a way of letting me know that my body is preparing itself for the up comoing event, although how much preparation i need is anyones guess...sometimes i wish my body would jusyt think to hell with it and pop this missy out!!

Sorry to hear T health has been been bad, but at least like you say he should be on the mend beofre your new arrival joins you!

sweetkitty · 01/01/2006 17:55

Jaysfirst

Don't know about the show mine happened about an hour after my waters went last time, it was pink thats how I knew it was a show.

Sorry if TMI but I have loads of discharge right now sometimes I think I have wet myself or have to check it's not my waters it's that bad.

I know what you mean though about dying to get the baby out it's horrible this waiting game.

Happy New Year everyone!

Well we had a curry and were in bed by 11! Feeling a little non-celebrational but fireworks woke us later and we then ended up watching some 60s Morecombe and Wise film until about 3 - eventually slept till lunchtime (which was more curry!). Have bought a new washing machine today and some baby socks... dp now making proper chef roast beef etc mmm

Lyra - are you still with us?!

Eshay - hope Thomas is feeling better soon, we had chickenpox for xmas one year and tummy bugs for another! I'm sure baby will stay put until the time is right for you!

I'll have to look up the link for yahoo - it's on my favourites - help please Jaysfirst! Think I might put baby's ickle hand/footprints on it!

Rach69 · 01/01/2006 17:58

Kitty - I know exactly what you mean about the er moistness! I only remember a show (probably lost in the rummaging with the others) with dd - I woke with it a couple of hours before contractions started properly and it was a huuuge lump of really solid mucus, a bit blood stained.

Mum2OneAndBump · 01/01/2006 18:03

I have to echo what you have said about the discharge to kitty.

I woke at 4am with period like pains with ds then when i stood up something came out as such, went to the toilet & yes it was a show i remember it being a lump of pinky mucus yuuuuk

lyra41 · 01/01/2006 18:29

Hi all

New Years ws fun, went to a party, came home early, followed by dh at 10 to 12 so we cd see the NY in tog. watched Jules Holland and headed for bed about 12.30.

lyra41 · 01/01/2006 18:31

iris66 · 01/01/2006 18:45

I hope this is the site yahoo site

Good to see everyone still here after the celebrations(I think???)and looking forward to the new bump piccies

Sorry to all of you now going over your EDDs btw(I'm only 37 weeks tomorrow but getting twitchy already)

We watched Jools too, then hot footed it over to a neighbours at midnight & didn't get home until 2. In consequence I've been shabby as anything today & haven't even been able to nap. We're supposed to be going to a party later & all I want to do is sleep now so may bow out after an hour & leave DH there. I'm going to have a quick shower to see if that'll perk me up. speak soon xx

iris66 · 01/01/2006 18:46

PS Eshay glad I'm not the only one still with ages to go

lyra41 · 01/01/2006 19:00

maman2006 · 01/01/2006 19:01

Hi all!

Happy New Year!
... And Happy January 2006 !

I found out about Mumsnet beginning of December, posted one message in this thread but then didn?t manage to keep up to date with all the posts there as I was still working. I?ll see if I can manage better until baby arrives and even after.
Thanks to LittleMissRACHEYXmasBigTits for pointing me the ?stats thread?. I have just posted my stats there.
I have also decided to read all the posts in this thread ? starting from 2006 (otherwise it would have taken me ages). I?ll try to keep up-to-date from now on (maybe by checking posts daily if I manage).

I agree with sweetkitty about starting a new thread for January.
I even think we should start a special thread with this month?s birth announcements (or does this already exist?)

Look forward getting to know you and reading about your little ones to arrive this month!

Eshay · 01/01/2006 20:17

Eshay · 01/01/2006 21:09

All done. Two new pics on Yahoo!

sweetkitty · 01/01/2006 21:23

I'm due on Wed (4th) Lyra - but let's just call it the 16th for induction - I'd love to be surprised beforehand (baby are you listening?!)

By the way I have spotted Dyzzidi has had her baby on the 21st Dec - Brooke! (what a coincidence) so really she was the first due in Jan to pop.

spangles · 02/01/2006 08:37

Hi everyone
I havent posted on here for ages as we were decorating the living room, kitchen and dining rooms and the PC was out of action for some time and then I felt I had lost track of the thread.
