Right here's our new thread.

So who's going to be first for an early Christmas present then?

V of your snow Tickle/Georgie (you ought to rename yourself GeorgieAngelDelightAddict or something! )
So pleased you will get your darling DD back tomorrow. You'll be able to celebrate all over again!! Don't you go having your LO before you get back online!!!!
Am with you on the BH. Mine seem to kick in really badly in the evenings at the mo & I've been either padding around frustratedly or bouncing around on my ball (v annoying for anyone trying to concentrate on the TV apparently .
DH gave me some homeopathic stuff last night (Arnica) as I felt really strange & sort of anxious/in denial that I am going to have a baby soon. Seemed to work as I feel fine today (don't care if it's psychosomatic/placebo effect!!)

Babbington House sounds wonderful!!!! What a thoughtful prezzie & a great thing to look forward to!
DH & parents got me some vouchers (shops - various) for a major shopping spree for when I'm bumpless. I cried (again)- I had hinted months ago but forgotten & it was especially nice as I'm so frustrated at the mo - even my mat stuff is too tight on my bump now & really uncomfortable.

Hope everyone else is hanging on in there - saw a thread earlier on BH and think Mum2One (16th Jan)may be in labour!!!

love you & leave you for the mo as we're off to find some walking boots for DD in the sales before she goes off to visit XDH. irisx

GeorgiePorgieCHRISTMASpuddinga · 27/12/2005 11:21

Iris - snap! Evenings are when my BH kick and I too pad around trying to get comfortable and then bouncing on my ball. Ball geting more action that DH at the moment

Oh, have heard that clary sage essential oil can help bring on contractions. It's safe to use after 37 weeks I think?

Snow all but gone now. Was lovely to stare out the window for a while and watch everything go white.

Might go and bounce on DD's trampoline to see if i can get anything going

G xx

GeorgiePorgieCHRISTMASpuddinga · 27/12/2005 11:22

Oh, and think better name for me would be: DancesWithHormones

LittleMissRACHEYXmasBigTits · 27/12/2005 14:11

Hormones still high here too! Am 39 weeks today but do not feel like baby will be here for another 3 weeks - so fed up with feeling like a baby elephant - so many aches and pains (repeat ad infinitum...) Glad dd will be back with you soon Georgie, my 3 are high on sugar, addictives and playstation games - dp has taken them all to the beach with Billy for a game of football so I can enjoy a leisurely bath with my new smellies without anyone banging on the door for the loo!

On xmas day dp tried the natural prostaglandin method but no luck (champagne helps)! Haven't had the energy to try again since!

Can't wait to hear more from Chuffed, hope everyone else is well

wewishyouamerryKITTYmas · 27/12/2005 15:00

Not been on for a few days and look what happens.

CONGRATULATIONS Chuffed!!!
A Christmas baby too, can't wait for the details! Sounds pretty quick too.

Well I'm still pregnant had a little scare Christmas Eve but she's decided to stay put for now thankfully. Am 37+5 today which is when DD decided to arrive so her sister seems to be a bit lazier.

Had a lovely Christmas with DD her little face wehn she came down and saw her presents on Christmas morning was brilliant. Dinner was lovely although my one glass of wine gave me horrendous heartburn. Had all the inlaws yesterday but dinner was a resounding success. We went to the sales today as usual bought DD loads and bought me a skirt in a size 10 (ever the optimist!)

Am maxing out on RLT from now on and may have to try some natural methods as well!

tamba · 27/12/2005 15:07

(am not pregnant but love reading these threads and just want to sat congratulations to chufed and good luck to the rest of you )

somethingsexyandLYcRAinmystock · 27/12/2005 19:37

hello

overdid it a bit today, started cleaning the sitting room at 8am and did a really good job from top to bottom (hope it's a sign!). then went clothes shopping with dd, so i was abs shattered, but a long laze in a hot bath seems to have done the trick and I@m feeling much better now.

I bought some new clothes for immediately after the birth, but wasn't as optimistic as you Sweetkitty and bought size 16 as i know my jelly belly will persist for some time after the birth!! got 2 pairs of cotton "leisure" pants (like tracky bottoms) and a gorgeous lambswool and angora sort of cardigan cum shawl from matalan - half price. i'm hoping it'll all be v comfortable when nothing else fits.

mw came for a home visit, which was really nice, she let Mike and the kids listen to lo's heartbeat, and even the dog came in to listen, so it was quite a family event! all's well, my bump is measuring 40wks again, which is good, maybe means baby boy won't be too big, which has been a bit of a fear for me throughout. i think he had a big growth spurt at 34 wks and then settled down, phew! talked through induction etc. with mw, she asked if i was "receptive" to a membrane sweep at 40 + 3, and I said maybe, but really i'm not sure how i feel about that. i feel very clear at the moment that i want junior to take a lead with starting labour, so we'll see. she also said that if i go 14 days over, i'll have to go into hosp every day to be monitored and scanned, which is fine by me, i'll want to know that lo's still ok in there too. just not at all keen to be induced tho, when ds1 went 14 days over and was completely fine, maybe i just take longer to cook 'em! How does anyone else feel about induction atm? Having said that, i will be doing all the usual natural induction stuff: pineapple, 6 caps rasp leaf tea a day, sex, spicy food, bicycle rides, bouncing on my birthing ball (have i missed anything out?).

i've asked mike and the kids to take on cooking from now on, my friend bought them a cook book for xmas called "Cooking up a storm - the teen cooking survival guide," so i thought i'd let them get into practice for the week after i've given birth (as i intend to mainly laze around in pj's being waited on hand and foot!). mike's in shock, he said, so, have you gone on strike now?! but dd has taken the cook books upstairs to study and she's decided they need to do a rota, and she'll do tomorrow, what a sweetheart.

reading a fab book atm, can hardly put it down, it's called "The Gathering Light," a bit like Little House on the Prairie for grown ups.

going to see what's on tv tonite, any suggestions?

chIRIStmasfairybigpants · 27/12/2005 20:20

Good to see you back Lyra (I was starting to get a little concerned )
Sounds like you've had a fab day and love those shawl/cardi things. Like you - I'm not anticipating getting back to pre pg size that quickly (and I thik I was aged 10 last time I was a size 10 SK!!!)
I can't think of any other natural induction things - looks like you've got them all covered!! I decided not to bother with the RLT tabs as BHs seem to be quite strong enough as it is!!

somethingsexyandLYcRAinmystock · 27/12/2005 20:24

btw, I didn't get anything sexy and lycra in my stocking.

chIRIStmasfairybigpants · 27/12/2005 20:27

I bought some sexythickdiamondpatternedlycrastockings - but the weals they left when I took them off lasted over 12 hours so I can't wear them again

MarsyChristmas · 27/12/2005 20:38

Hi Ladies... I wondered if you could tell me what goes in the hospital bag. You'd think I'd know after 5 kids, but it is a forgotten memory.

My sister is due in Jan and neither of us are completely sure that we have the right stuff for her bag.

TIA

somethingsexyandLYcRAinmystock · 27/12/2005 20:43

did anyone by any chance record "my family and other animals" on bbc1 at 6pm tonite? it was just about the only thing i wanted to watch and i missed it!

chIRIStmasfairybigpants · 27/12/2005 20:45

Blimey - which bag? I seem to have packed 3!! But seriously, there was a really good thread on this recently, have you tried a search on the archived threads? (I'm not being utterly unhelpful on purpose but know I'd miss something really crucial)

somethingsexyandLYcRAinmystock · 27/12/2005 20:51

Mars

there's a thread here

www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=1375&threadid=112047

and many more if you do a search in archived messages for "hospital bag."

somethingsexyandLYcRAinmystock · 27/12/2005 20:51

great minds eh Iris?

MarsyChristmas · 27/12/2005 20:53

Thank you ladies.

chIRIStmasfairybigpants · 27/12/2005 20:56

You're very welcome and good luck to your forthcoming Auntydom!!

Lyra - sorry am avoiding Clarkson at the mo & completely forgot it was on.

chIRIStmasfairybigpants · 27/12/2005 21:05

Lyra - French & Saunders has just started if you fancy a giggle!

iris66 · 28/12/2005 08:48

Morning all

Back to my normal name (too much concentration needed to write anything long in the boxes now!)

Still no snow here

Georgie - hope you have a wonderful time with DD when she comes home today.

Lyra - hope you're enjoying being waited on hand, foot & finger I got a snort of derision from DH when I suggested it so will just have to work him like an overworked thing afterwards to make up for it (yuk yuk)

Wonder if Chuffed is back home yet - can't wait to hear all about her LO

somethingsexyandLYcRAinmystock · 28/12/2005 09:13

mornin iris

no snow here either, but a thick hoar frost, which i much prefer to all the mild damp weather.

just had my morning iron pills - anyone else having to take these? my Hb levels have been dropping the past couple of weeks, so hopefully this will stop me going too anaemic. and i took my rasp leaf tabs too, althou they don't seem to be doing much, not even getting regular bouts of BH like iris or georgie.

i fancy going to see Narnia at the cinema this pm, so i'll see if i can tear dd away from her new Nintendo DS to come with me. it's the perfect day for a long walk actually, sunny and cold, but i don't really do long walks atm. maybe a short walk followed by coffee and cake, that sounds quite enticing.

georgie

hope you get ur dd home early today. are u having another xmas day kind of day with presents etc? thinking of you anyway, have fun, i'm sure you will.

wewishyouamerryKITTYmas · 28/12/2005 09:53

No snow here either just very cold and frosty. Think I am being very, very optimistic with the size 10 skirt maybe in the summer, having 2 babies in 2 years will have done wonders for my stomach muscles.

Loads of BHs this morning hope these twinges are doing something productive. Lyra don't worry about the RL tablets I took them last time and never had a twinge prior to labour starting. I take Santogen Pregnancy vitamins they have iron added so I suppose thats why mine has always been fine (I'm a veggie so concerned about iron intake).

DP has been very good so far not letting me do much and I've been having a nice afternoon nap most days too. Am so very tired right now.

Anyone else terrified of the birth? I am now been worrying myself silly think it's because this time I know how much it is going to hurt!

iris66 · 28/12/2005 10:43

I've forgotten the pain SK (thankfully) but always used to get v v bad period pain & seem to remember thinking that it wasn't that much worse. I keep saying that this one's going to slip out like a little slippery seal and hope that if I say it enough it will be true

Pregnacare seems to be doing it for me. I've been taking them fairly regularly all pg & iron levels were good last week (14 I think) Have been having loads of low abdo pain this morning (am hoping it's just wind - not 37 weeks until mon!!!!)

GeorgiePorgieCHRISTMASpuddinga · 28/12/2005 12:03

Hi girls

DD back home . She was suitably underwhelemed to see me when I picked her up from her Dad's! But don't care. Just lovely to have her back with me. Waiting for my Ma, Pa and bro to arrive and then she'll be let loose on the pressies under the tree. DH at work, so he'll miss that bit. But DD spoke to him on the phone this morning and he's going to try and get home early to see her.

Rather annoyingly it's the last day that I've got the PC as my bro is taking it back tonight....just as things were starting to get exciting an 'all!

Have ordered a laptop that should be here in a week. Better had be otherewise Dell will be gettinhg a rocket up there ass!

Had a rather weird morning as Beany decided to give me the 'silent treatment'. Was rather worried for a couple of hours as hadn't felt any movement. She's since made up for it, so am feeling a little better

How's everyone else this morning? Have been getting back ache and BH. But REFUSE to get excited.

Opps, Mum just turned up.

Will love you and leave you. And will post later to say adieu (but not goodbye) properly.

G xx

sweetkitty · 28/12/2005 12:16

Aww georgie that's lovely your DD is back and you get to open presents with her hope you get your laptop soon as well!

Wow everyone seems to be getting loads of aches and pains, wonder if these babies are just playing games with us.

I'm hoping to cough and this one falls out, been trying to convince myself this morning that it will be all right and will be easier than DD. I know it will all be worth it once she is here but it's still scary thinking about it.
