hello
overdid it a bit today, started cleaning the sitting room at 8am and did a really good job from top to bottom (hope it's a sign!). then went clothes shopping with dd, so i was abs shattered, but a long laze in a hot bath seems to have done the trick and I@m feeling much better now.
I bought some new clothes for immediately after the birth, but wasn't as optimistic as you Sweetkitty and bought size 16 as i know my jelly belly will persist for some time after the birth!! got 2 pairs of cotton "leisure" pants (like tracky bottoms) and a gorgeous lambswool and angora sort of cardigan cum shawl from matalan - half price. i'm hoping it'll all be v comfortable when nothing else fits.
mw came for a home visit, which was really nice, she let Mike and the kids listen to lo's heartbeat, and even the dog came in to listen, so it was quite a family event! all's well, my bump is measuring 40wks again, which is good, maybe means baby boy won't be too big, which has been a bit of a fear for me throughout. i think he had a big growth spurt at 34 wks and then settled down, phew! talked through induction etc. with mw, she asked if i was "receptive" to a membrane sweep at 40 + 3, and I said maybe, but really i'm not sure how i feel about that. i feel very clear at the moment that i want junior to take a lead with starting labour, so we'll see. she also said that if i go 14 days over, i'll have to go into hosp every day to be monitored and scanned, which is fine by me, i'll want to know that lo's still ok in there too. just not at all keen to be induced tho, when ds1 went 14 days over and was completely fine, maybe i just take longer to cook 'em! How does anyone else feel about induction atm? Having said that, i will be doing all the usual natural induction stuff: pineapple, 6 caps rasp leaf tea a day, sex, spicy food, bicycle rides, bouncing on my birthing ball (have i missed anything out?).
i've asked mike and the kids to take on cooking from now on, my friend bought them a cook book for xmas called "Cooking up a storm - the teen cooking survival guide," so i thought i'd let them get into practice for the week after i've given birth (as i intend to mainly laze around in pj's being waited on hand and foot!). mike's in shock, he said, so, have you gone on strike now?! but dd has taken the cook books upstairs to study and she's decided they need to do a rota, and she'll do tomorrow, what a sweetheart.
reading a fab book atm, can hardly put it down, it's called "The Gathering Light," a bit like Little House on the Prairie for grown ups.
going to see what's on tv tonite, any suggestions?
