Right here's our new thread.

So who's going to be first for an early Christmas present then?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LittleMissRACHEYXmasBigTits · 02/12/2005 07:42

Obviously not..

You're right Iris - it's dp's nickname for me (Little Miss Big Tits), but of course big tits are not just for xmas, are they girls?

Hunker - 34G sounds a lot sexier as a statistic than 40E! (mind you, I have a baby actually inside my ribs I think!)

wewishyouamerryKITTYmas · 02/12/2005 09:20

Morning - well I'm the owner of a pair of 36E's for Christmas used to be the owner of a modest 34C pair but haven't had them since I was 8 weeks pregnant with DD (Christmas 2 years ago) they did shrink to a 34DD when I was feeding DD though.

Lyra - hope you got back to sleep I was up at 3am for the loo then DD woke at 4am so needed settling. Couldn't get back to sleep for ages, trying to find comfy position.

Rachey - love the name

Iris - I'm not even thinking about weight right now, put on 2 stone with DD and lost it all within 6 weeks then lost another stone a few weeks after that! Think it had more to do with not being at work eating all the time, I actually only eat when I'm hungry now. Haven't weighed myself for a while now but reckon I must be reaching the 2 stone mark again which I don't mind. At least time I will be able to hide my flabby tummy underneath winter jumpers was horrendous last time trying to find decent summer clothes that would conceal the belly, breast pads, sanitary towel etc in the middle of a heatwave.

Anyway better go sis-in-law is coming up in a bit and we're off to do some Christmas shopping and get a few baby bits too, better get a move on DD and I are still in our dressing gowns.

Have a good day everyone.

chIRIStmasfairybigpants · 02/12/2005 09:29

lol Rachey - excellent name. Am dead jealous that DP has such a nice name for you! Think DH would name me BigMissChIRIStmasUnsexyRepulsiveDollop I can't wait for the baby to be born now - I've been feeling so amorous (ahem) lately but to no avail. zero interest. git. Trouble is that I know I wont bloody well want to do anything for ages afterwards (and it'll serve him right )

Blimey Lyra - your sleep pattern is all over the place isn't it. Poor you. At least you can slob about now you've finished work Excellent idea about booking the Tesco slot btw - will get onto it later.

Loomer (and anyone else doing hypnobirthing) - has your tutor mentioned anything about choosing a date to deliver? Mine reckons that you can subconciuosly block labour if you have something important to do ie moving house/completing coursework etc (must admit I've seen that demonstrated with some of my pg clients) and is trialling whether you can, by the same logic, pick your own labour day. We're going to have a go (I fancy 11th Jan, 38+2) so it'll be interesting to see whether it works!

lyra41 · 02/12/2005 10:05

did get back to sleep thanks. up and about again now, with a pretty busy first day off to come. ds is playing bass balalika in a concert tonite, so i have to wash and iron his costume (there's nothing like the last minute eh girls?), pick him up early from school and take him to the rehearsal, cutting short my meet up with my nct group (grr! and we get to see the new babies today, India and Barnaby, unusual eh). At least i don't have to go to the concert tonite, am using the pg as an excuse, my mum and dh are going though, so a quiet nite in for me i think. also got AQNatal at lunchtime, which will be good.

just trying to think up my xmas name, but inspiration is lacking....will do my best.

GeorginaP · 02/12/2005 11:09

Morning.
Phew, what a morning it's been. DD over tired and threw MASSIVE strop because I went up the stairs before her. What a wicked mother I am . I got so stressed out (all thoughts of Little Angels approach down the pan and resorted to shouting at her and then got so wound up i threw up..... bluueeggh.

Anyhoo, she's at pre-school now and I'm ooff to hairdressers to devour trashy mags and get my roots done!

Am v jealous of your big boobs girls. Am currently sporting 34 dd/e. Which is GI-HUGE-OUS for me.

Am knackered tody actually. Energy spurt that I had has defo buggered off and just want to spend my time super glued to the couch!

And I STILL can't think of a Christmas name....

Aaahhhaaaa, got it.....

Will log back on with it in a moment.

FairyLightfoot · 02/12/2005 11:18

Waddaa ya think?

Am feeling like a heffer at the moment and the thought of me trying to tip toe around like a fairy in a tutu is just too funny.

Have to make DD's costume for her nativity play next week. She's a Star, so it's out with the foil, cardboard and glitter and on with my Blue Peter hat!

Christmas decs will go up this w/e... can't wait. Am so excited!

OK, better go as need to get to hairdressers. Have a good day everyone.

loomer · 02/12/2005 12:38

Hey, good to see the new thread, the old one was getting rather long, wasn't it? Well done Kitty.

Loving all the christmas names - cannot think of anything that incorporates Loomer, so I may just have to go for something completely different.... hmmm...

It's my first Friday off work today, so have thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing morning lazing in the bath, shaving all my 'bits' for the first time in... well, just too long really, and having a huge bowl of porridge for brunch. Am going to make a chilli for dinner tonight (got to leave it to sit on the stove for as long as possible - improves the flavours!), wash down the cot ready for assembly, grand clear out of the freezer ready for all those meals I'm going to store ready for the first month of motherhood - if I ever get my arse into gear to make 'em!

Strangely enough I had a terrible night last night too - tossed and turned lots and laid awake for a good two hours in the early hours thinking about 'stuff'. Wish I'd got up and done something useful now like you Lyra. The house is just too cold at that time of the night though, I can't bring myself to come out from under the covers.

Iris, happy belated birthday! I haven't heard anything about choosing your delivery date, but it sounds very intriguing... what evidence have you seen with PG clients delaying labour? I'm curious. Jan 11th sounds like a good date to aim for - any particular reason why?

Am I also the only person who quite definitely doesn't want her babe to come before christmas? I don't think I could cope with new baby and christmas festivities all at the same time, and I'm kind of hoping for the babe's sake that it hangs on in there as long as possible, so that it gets a bit of a break between christmas and birthday. Do you think I'm barmy, or are you all just going laugh because I've never been pregnant before and you know something I don't?!

I'm starting to get nappies sorted, just buying them as I see them come up for sale second-hand. I have 18 nappies now, some liners and a couple of wraps. Still need to top up though. What ones are you thinking of Iris/Lyra? I've gone for some Imse Vimse and some motherease - bit of mix and match. Might top up with some terries, as I'm concerned about drying times.

Xmas decorations may well go up this weekend... if only to empty the boxes and make some more space for baby stuff!

Would love to see some more pics of everyone's growing bumps AND house renovations that we've heard so much about. Get to it girls!

chIRIStmasfairybigpants · 02/12/2005 14:44

SK - is this how you feel?
Loomer - have had 2 clients "go over" despite my best efforts but it was amazing how quickly they started once their "subconcious need" had been met. First one didn't start until her mum had arrived from abroad, and the second was moving house (started almost as soon as her kitchen was useable (big on cooking)I have another who wants to get a course assignment completed but has been told by her active birth teacher not to do it becaue it would " switch off the primal part of her brain" !!! She's ended up very very frustrated but I've told her just to get on with it to get it out of the way.I'm confident she'll pop as soon as it's done(will let u know though!)
We've chosen 11 Jan just because I thought it would be a good date months ago for some strange reason (could be subconcious saddo attack though as I also realised that DD's b'day is 10.11 and, if I deliver on that day, DS will be 11.01....oh dear - think I need to up the medication....... that is sooooo sad

chIRIStmasfairybigpants · 02/12/2005 14:47

oops - sorry meant to say Georgie!!!!

GeorgiePorgieCHRISTMASpuddinga · 02/12/2005 18:56

Hi..... had a brainwave for new Christmas log in name.....

Pretty good for someone with the mental capacity of a goldfish!

Had cr@p day. Need some TLC!

Been throwing up, feeling sick, throwing up, feeling sick.....stomache feeling v peculiar. Don't think I'm about to go into labour, but certainly feels as if my body is purging itself.

Loomer - I'm with you. Am hoping that Beany stays put until after Christmas/NY. She's due sometime around 12th Jan. Or at least if she does come early am hoping it's not until I've made DD's costume for nativity play, wrapped the presents and done all the grocery shopping

And yep, Iris - you've got me to a tee! .

Am going to try and keep baked potato down and slob infront of tv.

Hope everyone gets some sleep tonight.

Sweet dreams

G xx

wewishyouamerryKITTYmas · 02/12/2005 19:53

Well I've put down for the 7th January (39 weeks) will get homebirth and Xmas/New Year over and DP will be abck at wotk 3 days then off for a fortnight.

Finished Xmas shopping and most of the baby shopping. Was a nightmare met DP for lunch and afterwards had loads of BHs and DD wasn't well, she threw up on DP 3 times tonight but she's since perked up. DD never ill so it was completely out of character.

Right have a good weekend ladies x

LittleMissRACHEYXmasBigTits · 02/12/2005 21:23

Had a call from ex-d today turning out his loft - he found a load of my old clothes (blimey what did we wear in 1990!) Better than that though, he found bags full of baby clothes I thought long gone - have sifted through and saved about half - such lovely memories of the other two wearing them - little osh kosh dungarees and hats etc from 12 years ago! kids really thrilled about new baby wearing them, have even kept some of dd's stuff - so cute

Loomer - what about something with bLOOMER in it ie Turkey bLOOMER! (nice xmas sarnie!)Still working on lyra...onLYRAndyonnewyear's eve? Sorry think have sex on the brain! Iris, I think love is blind cos I look like a bloomin hippo! (also think dp a chubby chaser, I was 9 1/2 stone when we met!)

Put me down for my due date (Jan 4th) please, that would be fine!

I love the name India! dp not keen despite our fab hols in Goa this year.

Sweetkitty and Georgie - hope you and yours feel better, have a good weekend all, don't get too stressed!

Chuffingoodtime · 03/12/2005 01:34

Wow a day off and sooo many posts. dh working on the house today and my job is sorting boxes but haven't got around to it yet, as we are unlikely to get into our place by the baby we need to empty all our boxes and repack them into some sort of order as at the moment they are packed with clothes around breakables, making each box weigh 30kg not really as important now we have arrived.
I am really lucky in that I don't mind help with the little one. We lived in a one bed flat in London when dd was born and my mum and dad stayed for 5wks on the couch to 'help' then 2 days later dh's parents arrived for 5wks to sleep on couch and help. It was great, somebody to walk with, chat to during the day, hand baby over so I could go to the gym at lunch time. I'm hoping it will be that relaxed this time too. No idea how dd will cope when she sees babies out and about all she does is point and say baby but won't go near them so hopefully that will continue.
Have appointment with midwife and dr on Monday to discuss birth options, hoping for the best and I think the 10th Jan will end up being my date. Have decided to ask for elective c-sec unless the baby comes early so I'm with those of you who don't want their baby before Jan. dh and dsis in law both have their birthdays in Dec and it is very unfortunate and they hate it so dont' want to inflict that upon baby.

GeorgiePorgieCHRISTMASpuddinga · 03/12/2005 08:22

Morning all

Well I made it thru the night...wasn't sure if anything would happen.

Am feeling much perkier today. So much so that I've just whipped up a batch of pancakes for DD and DH...must be clinically insane, but hey

We're off to Santaland today. DD v excited, but I'm even more excited! Will let you know what it's like.

Rachey - I love Osh Kosh stuff. That's just reminded me actually, might pop into a big Boots store and pick up a pair of dungee's for DD2. DD had lovely pair, but think I gave them to charity.

Any total fashion nightmares from 1990's?!??!

Chuffed - I'm with you, the more the merrier as far as help with Beany goes.

My mum has sent me a grocery list of stuff to buy for Christmas.... think she's aware that I have memory of goldfish and will end up buying out half of the sweetie aisle and nothing else!

Once a mother, always a mother

OK, have a good day lovely ladies.

G xx

chIRIStmasfairybigpants · 03/12/2005 10:02

morning peeps - love the new names and glad you're still with us and feeling better Georgie and SK, hope DD is better today too.

Think I also have sex on the brain - or is it just underwear!! (LYcRAinmychristmasstocking or bLOOMERsroastingonanopenfire (food and knickers) anyone? )

Rachey - I know a little girl called India, it's a beautiful name isn't it. DH & I can't agree at all on ours. We did a "marks out of 10" thing for each name and he's decided that Charles is the one.I don't know how it ended up on the list 'cos I really don't like it anymore. It's soo annoying that I can't even use my feminine wiles to seduce him into changing his mind. I will have to try more direct action to focus his mind

Chuffed - at least you'll have more space this time round and limitless help with both children! lie back and enjoy! Hope your appt goes well on mon and that you get the date set ok.

OOOh 1990's clothes ! OMG the whole look was a nightmare! - I had some really bad Deidre Barlow Glasses (in fetching blue - yeuck) and a bubble perm that formed a "mushroom head" at the time (oooh the shame). Big shoulderpads in everything is what I remember most (in all sorts of vivid Dallas stylie colours) with matching coloured shoes and plastic earrings and beads - Nooooooo don't make me remember it all!!!!!!! Where were Trinny & Susannah when you needed them eh?! eh!!

lyra41 · 04/12/2005 18:08

hello

happy sunday everyone. we're just getting christmassy here, putting up the tree and decorations, and cutting up last year's christmas cards to make tags for this year's pressies. does anyone else do that, or is it just a manchester thing? i'd like to light a fire, but it's not really cold enough, it's been damp and drizzly all day. Maybe I should just switch off the central heating and light the fire anyway, to get in with the cosy christmas theme.

rach

i got a psp for ds today!!! a friend at church mentioned that he'd managed to buy 2 by mistake, so i bit the bullet and offerred to get the spare one.

Chuffingoodtime · 05/12/2005 03:17

lyra dh got a psp as a leaving present from his work and loves it.

Chuffingoodtime · 05/12/2005 03:19

oooh forgot to say looks like the baby will be a 9.01 baby unless it decides to come early by itself. They weren't overly encouraging about having a c-sec but I didn't have to fight too hard which was nice.

chIRIStmasfairybigpants · 05/12/2005 08:07

happy monday all!

Bet you're relieved now you have your date sorted Chuffed. It's going to come round so quickly now isn't it!

I really want all my decorations up now too Lyra. And yes, we cut up cards for tags here too but I do think it's a more northern than southern thing (am a Black Country lass by birth)

We've been having fires every day for a while now. They look so lovely don't they. Once I start I just can't bear the sight of the fireplace without one (though it has been rather warm of late!)

DD was chatting to me last night (mainly over how vast I have become) and was saying how amazing it is that you can make a whole new person in such a short time. It really made me think how clever nature is - and that there's only a few weeks left before we all start popping (eeeeek!!) According to the babycentre website my LO is "fully formed and will only be gaining weight from now" double eeeek!!! Any of us could pop any time!!! (wonder who'll be first?) Is anyone planning to hurry things up in any way or are we all just going to wait (planned c/sects aside)?

chIRIStmasfairybigpants · 05/12/2005 08:09

ooh almost forgot - How was Santaland Georgie? where is it, and what's there?

lyra41 · 05/12/2005 10:02

morning all

I'm in a bit of a low mood today, don't know why, apart from the house being a bit of a tip and feeling like I want it all clean and tidy. we started with the dec's yesterday, but didn't finish as one set of lights typically wouldn't work, so we're waiting for more lights before we put the rest of the dec's on the tree.

i'm setting out to try to get my bumbo again today, this time armed with the address and phone no., as well as directions!

as far as trying to start labour early iris, i was going to try, but i read something on here by a midwife called mears, who was fairly discouragaing about it, she reckons it can mean an unsettled and colicky baby if you don't let nature take its course, so now I'm having second thoughts. i'd rather wait and have a calm, happy babe i think, than hurry things along and end up feeling frazzled and having to go for lots of cranial osteopathy for the baby. i'll probably change my mind again tho, as i remember getting desperate towards the end last time. how about you?

wewishyouamerryKITTYmas · 05/12/2005 12:26

hi all

Had quite a good weekend part from DD being ill, she had a temperature and just wanted her mama all day, think DP was a bit upset but he spent most of the day woth her yesterday. I've got really Christmassy round here too, put tree and decs up Saturday, wrapped presents yesterday (took me 2 hours) and started writing Christmas cards last night. Am quite excited especially about DD opening her presents.

Just in the usual amount of pelvic pain and heartburn so nothing to report there. One of my best friends is due 2 days after me so was on the phone to her today having a good moan about being pregnant, fat and uncomfortable.

Chuffed - bet you are glad you have your date sorted, I'm quite envious of you knowing the date as you get to plan averything around it.

Lyra - good luck with the Bumbo today.

Have started taking my raspberry leaf tablets, only taking 3 a day for the first 2 weeks then will take the maximum 6 a day. All this thinking this baby will be early and I bet you she's late, my friend has warned me (she was 2 weeks overdue and induced) that she will never speak to me again if I have a 3 week old baby and she's still pregnant.

Tickle · 05/12/2005 13:26

hi all - quick check in - rain here & trying to clean up house! Had mice in the pantry; caught three in last 24 hrs - eek! It has been colder the last few nights, so I guess they will all start coming in now...

better get to it
T xx

LittleMissRACHEYXmasBigTits · 05/12/2005 15:47

Hi all!

Christmas concert week - have sat through the Roman Way and Puss in Boots so far! Thank god they didn't start singing Little Donkey, I don't think my hormones could have stood it!

I can't have this baby yet, I don't have any pyjamas!!! I shall be in hospital/receiving visitors in dp's old t shirts!

Georgie - fashion nightmares galore! the best were the brightly coloured shirts and leggings/ski pants combos

Iris - I really like Charlie but Charles less so and you know that people would elongate it just as they shorten - so many people ask me if Max is Maximillian!

Lyra - sorry you're feeling low, I'm feeling manic today! So much to do, so little time! Good luck with the bumbo, a girl at work has promised me a lend of hers - apparently her 6 month old already wants to get out of it! Your ds will be thrilled with the psp, all you have to do now is buy the games/films...! I rent unlimited dvds online with lovefilm for £14 a month - if you buy the £20 a month package you can rent unlimited games as well including ps2/psp and umd films - maybe worth some bribery especially with new baby? If you don't already use them, you can get a free month's trial. I can certainly think of a fiver worth of chores for my ds1 and he really gets through the games too quickly to buy many outright. Also, you can watch the dvds whilst breastfeeding all day n night!

I know what you mean about forcing labour, I really think if it's meant to be, it's meant to be. It took 9 prostin pessaries over nearly 3 days to induce ds2. He did not want to come out! He turned posterior during labour, I had an awful delivery and his head was like mr.whippy's afterwards. Looking back I think his grumpy babyhood would have benefited from cranial osteopathy. Conversely, when I had dd - I'd had a show and had started dilating already - it made so much difference.

We went to worship at IKEA on saturday, went in for a cheap chest of drawers for dd and ending up spending £224! did buy rather nice chest for baby's room with a little changing flap that turns into a shelf. Also bought a lot of miscellaneous soft toys and 2 hot dogs! Must start wrapping... oh and yes we cut up cards too!

LittleMissRACHEYXmasBigTits · 05/12/2005 15:48

Oh and Sweetkitty - hope dd is feeling better
