Hello good idea from tomcat

What are all your xmas tips and recipes or stuff you're doing to get you thru the next fewdays/weeks to EDD's

I going to try and make a stocking to hang in the nursery for when my little lewis comes home and for the first time bake a christmas cake.

OP posts:

DQ - YEAH congratualtions you must be sooo chuffed. Now you can prepare for that home birth!!!

I think if it was a show hopefully I'd have had the baby by tomorrow lunchtime at the latest?!?!?!?! That way i can still get to the bloody exam.

Please, please, please......

dramaqueen72 · 05/12/2005 12:10

omg! only you can think 'i'll just have this baby quickly and nip out to the exam.....'I've wrote off everything for a few weeks after, i'm such a wuss.
i am really pleased but, also, this funny mood, I'm not showing I'm really pleased -if that makes sense. I'm pissed off with dh for no reason, well no good reasons....and everything is annoying. i must be so much fun to live with!!!!!

sweetheart · 05/12/2005 12:12

hee hee - perhaps you should take yourself off for a nap or a nice bath. Take some time to chill out and relax on your own. I get up tight with dh too sometimes - not generally his fault (well apart from him being HIM of course)

I will write everything else off - just not the exam - I really really need to pass it. After studying for 3.5 years I just want the bloody thing finished!

dramaqueen72 · 05/12/2005 12:20

yes, i prob should. however midwife due 'sometime' soon (hate that waiting in no idea of time thing) and dh ahs ddecided to take whole day off after the scan. I feel like i could cry............or shout, or something. eek!!! for no reason....

MINNIE1 · 05/12/2005 12:24

sweetheart
Really hope you go into labour and that you get to fit in your exam.. Fingers crossed.

DQ,
your mood sounds like me most days lol... Delighted you are getting the birth you want hun.. Lets hope it happens sooner rather then later..

Hope the doc says you will have this one b4 christmas now that would be nice!!

sweetheart · 05/12/2005 12:26

it's probably just that you've had such a build up to today - the waiting has been frustrating so you can't just immediatly relax. Hopefully discussing your home birth with your mw will make you feel better. Make it more real for you!

Could you think of something you really fancy for lunch and send dh out to get it - that way you get something really yummy to eat and a few mins peace whilst he goes to the shop. Perhaps he could bring you back a trashy gossip mag so you can relax with that this afternoon.

flutterbeedreaminofawhitexmas · 05/12/2005 12:26

Expat --- Someone has had a baby on this board ME he was 5 weeks early

and at being forgotten about so soon

sweetheart · 05/12/2005 12:29

ohhh flutter - you haven't been forgotten - I think Expat just meant there are a few of us due and it's about time one of us produced.

dramaqueen72 · 05/12/2005 12:37

flutter, she meant the rest of us, we seem to be stuck pg forever SINCE you, of course we havent forgotten about you and gorgeous george!!

LOL s/h thats exactly what I've just done, sent dh out with ds and dd2, and ordered a hot chocolate and tuna sandwich from costa coffee (right in town, he should be ages.....) great minds think alike....and your right this confirmation scan was massive to me and the its over feeling hasnt quite kicked in. also -stupid- had dream last night dh was unfaithful so am cross at him because of that, hardly his fault what i dream but there you go, who says I have to be rational at this point...
minnie they HAVE all said babys is due 'anyday now' and 'definately' before christmas....but they told me 'omg anyday now' with dd2, for a MONTH so I will belive it when my waters break and not before! glad, well not glad but relieved to hear you feel like this sometimes too..

sweetheart · 05/12/2005 12:40

PMSL - angry with him for being unfaithful in a dream This is such a typical irrational preggie woman thing to do/say!! HA HA!!!

Bless - perhaps he should just stay out of your way today

I hope speaking to the mw about your home birth brightens your day.

MINNIE1 · 05/12/2005 12:41

dramaqueen72 · 05/12/2005 12:50

lol ninah.........how are you? missed you lately.

awayninahmanger · 05/12/2005 16:11

hello, I'm still here
Like my Xmas name?
I'm fighting fire with fire and getting feisty now. Have lovely friends (rl and on here) egging me on! off house hunting on Thurs! but around today tomorrow Wednes ...
I bought this amazing OBJET I guess you call it dq, it's a massive plaster bust of a woman covered in gold leaf, really ornate, the first purchase for the new place, p would go crazy about it if it was for us (not in a good way)! Completely gratuitous, but it's my good luck symbol

Nemoinapeartree · 05/12/2005 16:18

ninah hope your house hunt goes well and you can find something. Bust sounds like a good luck omen to me!!!!!!!!

DQ so glad baby has turned around the right way. I know waht you mean about baby looking huge on scan as ours did at my 36wk check when consultant checked position..lol

Well i am shattered just used adams hour long nap to do ironing and managed to get through 2 baskets must have a go fast button on today..lol Am half way through basket of dirty washing although have also washed dog bed and small couch cushions..lol Plan on cleaning bathroom when Adam is in bath later and putting washing away when dh is home as am going to ask him to carry the baskets of ironing up. The bonus is I have enough clothes to get through next 2 wks apart from trousers which I have acouple of tracksuit bottoms suitable for around the house then a pair of black trousers and maternity jeans suitable for public viewing..lol Which also means I dont plan on doing anymore ironing this year as dh can do the next lot..lol

awayninahmanger · 05/12/2005 16:25

nemo you are a whirling dervish! my god where do you get the energy! I decided to do my own ironing 2 weeks ago and let p pay for his but I have not actually switched one on yet ..
reckon most've it stretches so tight the creases are negligible

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 05/12/2005 16:25

Hurray, another Christmas name. Good luck with your house hunting Ninah, sounds like you are really definite about this so I'm hoping your little one is late so you have some time to get sorted.

DQ, WOOHOO!!!!!!!
I am delighted for you. What a little monkey teasing you like that. So is that all of them at least facing in the right direction now?
LOL at you being cross with your DH for beibng unfaithful in your dream.

I've been out shopping again & managed to find some black trousers & some more jeans that fit (watch me go into labour tonight now!!)
I had to give up though as my pelvis gave up & I think I had my first BH. Everthing tightened & went into a kind of spasm - does that sound like one or is it my digestive system playing up?

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 05/12/2005 16:27

Ironing???? What is ironing???

awayninahmanger · 05/12/2005 16:27

yup that's bh george! never had them with Louis, they can be FIERCE! this little one kicks so hard you can see my stomach bobbing, too, really distracting when you are trying to have a conversation

awayninahmanger · 05/12/2005 16:28

the work of the devil ....

Nemoinapeartree · 05/12/2005 16:31
