Hello and good morning! Drifted off to sleep at about 5am and then ten mins later our dog was sick and whining until 6am but it's DD's last day in nursery so have had a bit of a lie in and DH has been very good this morning. He's works in a school so it's his last day tomorrow, can't wait to have him at home for a while.
Anyway, on with my signs and symptoms. No braxton hicks or visible dropping of bump but do have the runs (sorry if TMI!) and some pelvic pain (possible slight movement downward of baby???) I was like this last time, obsessed with every little sign, but she still had to be induced! Anyone else having signs?
DQ I have to disagree about the sweep! My next midwife appt is a week today (a day or two before 40 weeks) and I'm going to beg for a sweep! It is uncomfy (I had two last time...) but will only bring on labour if baby is ready, so worth a go imho.
Re mums. First time ladies please please please don't make the mistake I did last time of agreeing to too many people visiting. I gave birth on Friday night, was out Saturday and then had mum, step dad, dad, step mum, their three kids and brother all visit for an entire day on Sunday (we have a tiny terraced house!). I was exhausted after 36 hour labour and it just drained me. I wish I'd told them all to bugger off. It wasn't planned like that but they all phoned at the last minute and I was too high to say no.
The reason I have to be more relaxed about my mum is things have changed this time, MIL lives abroad, my dad will be skiing which automatically means they can't visit for a few weeks, phew! And although I'd rather my mum left us alone for a bit too, I know she won't so might as well get it out of the way and then we can get on with being us.
Come on out baby! If it comes out this weekend or early next week, we can go up to London for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day without all this hassle!
Thanks for reading all my waffle - it was great middle of the night therapy!
