Hello good idea from tomcat

What are all your xmas tips and recipes or stuff you're doing to get you thru the next fewdays/weeks to EDD's

I going to try and make a stocking to hang in the nursery for when my little lewis comes home and for the first time bake a christmas cake.

Ebbie, so glad that things are getting a bit better in your house.

I've been out & bought 2 feeding bras. I know everything will change shape in another few weeks but I can't sit in PJs with no bra on esp if I have visitors. I want my old boobs back please...these ones are way too big!!

You sound a lot chirpier Jay. What a lovely surprise from your friends. It won't be long now. We only have about 2½ weeks to go.

DQ, just seen your nursery pictures and it looks lovely. Very organised too but I guess you have a bit more idea of what goes than I do!!
Don't know where you find the time from.

I'm going to have another look at the blind today. I'm determined to put it up sometime this week!

bonkerz · 12/12/2005 12:30

So much for my day of sleep! havent yet managed to drop off even though im exhausted! Unpacked and repacked babies bag and hospital bag AGAIN. Need to iron clothes for DS and DSD to take to their nans on Saturday. Havin BH every 15 mins or so which isnt helping and starting to annoy me! Also keep getting waves of wanting to pee and poop!! Wish she would get out of my pelvis! Bloomin child! (love her really!)

Jaysfirst · 12/12/2005 13:57

hiya

well have deryome finishing touches to the nursery, sorted out washing, unpacked from the weekend, put pressies under tree groomed cat, very theraputic even thou he doesnt like it too much!, ave decided to go to mums and bumps as i am now too awake to try and catch up on any shut eye and you never know i may not get to go next week...wishful thinking! just having a cuppa raspberry t and a sandwhich....

George, am feeling a bit chirpier, albeit totally knackered, but then isnt everyone of us! strange how you can notice things through a written communication isnt it!

Bonkerz, not long now chick, and she will be well and truely out of your pelvis!

DQ wanted to re iterate that your nursery loks fab, very colourful and cheery, ideal!! i love going into mine and sitting there looking round at all the bits and bobs, really brings it home!

A neighbour bought round some handknitted clothes for me this morning. OMG not just a cpl but 30 sets of either jumpers cardis or coats, with bonnets bobble hats booties and mitts....in all diff colours, from pink to rainbow, green to lilac....i caouldnt believe it all with dinky buttons of cars or elephants on them, so beautifully done, shes been knitting since we told her, about four nonths ago....i doubt very much if i will get through them all! lol very sweet if a bit excessive!

re nursing bras, i dont have any yet , like a few of you, i think i will go and buy one or two at the weekend and take it from there, i can always go get another cpl after i guess, strange not knowing what quite to do , i really have felt not in control of this pregnancy, totally unlike how i am normally!!

Jaysfirst · 12/12/2005 14:02

derymone........??????? dont even know what i was meant to put...just make it up!! right off for a bit now, hope everyone is ok xxxx

ei23mistletoe · 12/12/2005 15:04

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 12/12/2005 15:10

Ei, come to mine, I'm having a thrilling time cleaning out cupboards!

Jay, you are right, we do all seem a bit brighter this week. I know I am. Long may it continue

Well after several weeks of looking at the blind I have now at least cut it to size so just need to fix the thing to the wall now but I've decided I need DPs help as it is 6 ft long!

ei23mistletoe · 12/12/2005 15:35

if only u lived near george as i wud snap u up on that offer right away!! iv finally found a remedy for my dreadful itching!! calamine lotion is now my new best friend!! its lovely!! iv covered my whole poor itchy stretchmark-covered belly in it and iv finally found relief!! amazing that i didnt think of it sooner as it works wonders on chicken pocks so why not itchy skin!! i wud deffo recommend it to anyone havin the same prob!! sound like an advertising campaign!!

ei23mistletoe · 12/12/2005 15:40

im gonna go an find somethin to do i think!! i might go for a jog or somethin!! u no encourage the baby to make an appearance- give me somethin to do i suppose wont it!! haha i wish i cud still jog!!

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 12/12/2005 15:56

Did you get the results back from your tests Ei, for the itching? I take it they were OK if you are bathing in calamine lotion.
I'm not itching but the top of my bump really hurts like it has been rubbed raw. Probably just fed up of being stretched.

You'll be thrilled to know I've finished with the cupboards and have now moved on to cleaning the floor. Oh my days are just filled with excitement!

Going to go out shopping for dinner in a minute and buy up more chocolate supplies. I keep eyeing up my box of chocs for labour (I can't eat another one surely!!)

expatinscotland · 12/12/2005 16:13

roisin is marathon nmursing here.

who's next?! someone's gotta go - nemo, you all set?

babygibbon · 12/12/2005 16:45

Huge congratulations Expat !!!

Jaysfirst - I had horrible SPD in my first pregnancy, and like you, couldn't sleep on either side or my front so ended up sleeping in a semi reclined garden chair for two months! I laugh when I look back now...I was so worried about my second pregnancy, because everyone said SPD comes on earlier and gets worse with each pregnancy, but other than a few very minor twinges, I've been fine (backache this time which is uncomfortable but nearly as bad). I just thought I'd let you know incase you were worried about any future pregnancies.

Have spent this afternoon nesting (DD in nursery), and have begun to pack my labour bag - not completely there but about time, really. It just doesn't seem real, I don't know why. When I was pregnant with DD I had it packed from 36 weeks and by now was onto the serious nesting (cleaning out cupboards, washing bathroom ceiling, you know bizarre stuff). I think it's just that I'm so busy now.

Hope everyone is okay and getting ready to pop!

babygibbon · 12/12/2005 16:47

Sorry, that's meant to read not nearly as bad (the backache)!

Is anyone having problems driving now? I can still fit behind the wheel (just!) but my concentration is that of a gnat...

scully · 12/12/2005 17:03

Know what you mean about driving bg, also only just fitting and concentration is a struggle at times, especially with dd in the backseat.....
Never made it to 39wks last time but the exhaustion has just hit me over the weekend & pretty knackered most of the time now. Still, shouldn't complain, we're about to feel a whole lot more tired
Good to hear Roisin is feeding well Expat, what's your dd think of her new sister? & how's Lucas, sh?

sweetheart · 12/12/2005 18:05

Sorry - still haven't managed to catch up really - today has been manic!!!

Just wanted to pop in and say DQ, Ninah - trying to e-mail you but hotmail keeps crashing - hopefully I'll be able to e-mail you later this evening or tomorrow.

Our Dr agreed to refer Lucas to the specalist so he is going to be getting his tounge cut.

We had a brilliant night last night - only up twice for about 20mins each time. Got 7.5 hours sleep

Only slight bad thing is that I may have to have some physio as I have pain in my pubic bone. I can't remember what the midwife called it - something beginning with 'S'. Anyway - nothing major to moan about when you lot are all still pregnant and uncomfortable.

Take care

dramaqueen72 · 12/12/2005 18:18

lovely to hear from you again s/h and hurry with that email
glad your sleep improved last night, woohoo heres to another good night.........you too expat. glad your LO is settling in. she sounds lovely.

well i am the owner of two HUGE nursing bras this measurement really made me but hey, like you said george, find it better to have a couple to start with, your size goes mad at the start of milk coming in, no point in buying them then, as a) I never get enough time to go out and get them! and b) need them from the word go myself.
Lots of BH when in town today!!! abit worried that the stores would think I was after a hamper or something.......LOL but they are much calmer now. good job as dh is UNREACHABLE tonight at a band practise in a stupid area no phone seems to get cover in...(ie; most of the new forest) so let not do tonight re labour eh?!!!! I'll just come online and get cyber support if I go tonight...
got that 'mm, really enjoyable' pressure right down in my backside that you get this stage. oh its nice... think i have a week or so, so have somehow crammed this week with things to fit in. go to keep busy or go mad.

jaysI've lost your address.please can i have it again.....
george, i really cant do my blind, serves me right for buying a flashy one I think, its more technical than anything Ive ever built. just KNOW i've prob got to do it somehow tho.....

scully · 12/12/2005 22:01

Had a nice relaxed evening for dh's b'day today - no arguing which is a nice change from yesterday
dd was winding me up today, just think I am running out of patience with the world now & 3yr olds really know how to push the right buttons sometimes..... don't know how you manage with 3 children and be pregnant dq!
Have a manicure and pedicure tomorrow, whist dd is at nursery, hoping I make it to the appt, no signs at this stage that I won't, though.
Nice to hear from you sh, good to hear that Lucas' appt went well. Wow, all that sleep, hope that continues
& we found out tonight that dh's contract at work has been extended to the end of March - yay

Jaysfirst · 12/12/2005 22:26

hi all, god am shattered! Went to mums and bumps, everyone was so lovely, i am the only bump at the mo so got lots of attention!! Was only out for a cpl of hrs but felt like the whole day! Gots lots of bits and bobs from mums who dont need them any more, like newborn teats ( new) breast pads and 'other' pads.......they are new also lol....pheweeee huh!! some more clothes and new baby shoes...felt like another baby shower!

Anyway, came home and lit a fire which is still roaring...will be sitting up a bit til it dies down, even tho i sooooo want to go to bed...made some nice tea and had a chilled eve with DH and the cat!! Not as much movement from the wee one, but am assuming its because the space is running out as she seems to have had a growth in the last two weeks.

Nice to hear from SH , fingers crossed for little Lucas's 'snip' i hear tell that its quite common so try not to worry, best he ets it doen now, would be worse when he gets older...was it SPD thats troubling you ?

Will email address DQ, I havent checked but i think i still have one of the hundred emails that was sent prior to the meet, with everyones address on it, so i should have all yours!

Babygibbon, its good to hear that you didnt get SPD in your second preg, gives me hope i an tell you, i was seriously starting to think that i wouldnt go on to have any more, still i guess i will forget about the pain in time!

Watched the space cadet hoax....HOW FUNNY IS THAT!

Zauberfee · 13/12/2005 00:28

Has that blind been put up yet?lol

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 13/12/2005 10:02

Hi all,
Lovely to hear from you SH. DPs 2 boys are both slightly tongue tied but they were left as it's not too bad. I hope Lucas is fine when he has his op.

So it's giant bras all round then is it?

Hope you get your heating sorted out Jay, is it fixable? I'm trying to watch Space Cadets but I get really frustrated with how dim they are.

Scully, great news about your DH's job. That gives you some nice breathing space til March. Hope you enjoy being pampered today.

DQ, have visions of you in pool with lap top to hand!!

Well it's NCT coffee afternoon today then work Christmas party tonight. DP is now going to pick me up from the party which is nice.

expatinscotland · 13/12/2005 10:03

Come out, babies!

DH has DD at Tumble Tots just now. She's a bit jealous. Doesnt help she has a cough as well.

1 week till my parents arrive!

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 13/12/2005 10:11

Thanks Expat, not sure it heard you though as I'm busy digesting some chocolate biscuits & a cup of tea (lots of gurgling going on!)

Hopefully it will make things easier for you DD when you parents arrive as they can spoil her a bit. Are they bringing her a pressie?

awayninahmanger · 13/12/2005 10:18

hello I am SOOO delighted to hear your news sh, feeling quite weepy with delight. And expat - congratulations! I am SO SO HAPPY for you both. Shouldn't be on here really cos have days of emails to catch up and paperwork for meeting tomorrow but so glad I did check in!
Have been househunting, ds and I stayed in b&b and had a lovely few days together. all looking v promising for the New Year just praying my house sells quickly as I've set my heart on something. A bit nervous about actual birth thing, had some twinges last Thurs and realised I was miles away from home didn't know anyone or where nearest hosp and 3 year old in next bed -but luckily it wasn't the real thing.
p moderately civil since I got back but still always in pub/work so can't be relied on, his view is that we lead separate lives, nice timing huh! keep getting invites to Chrismas drinks dos and family cards which is hard to live with.
Will come back later xxxx
