Hello good idea from tomcat

What are all your xmas tips and recipes or stuff you're doing to get you thru the next fewdays/weeks to EDD's

I going to try and make a stocking to hang in the nursery for when my little lewis comes home and for the first time bake a christmas cake.

oh I'm so grouchy, seems everyone in this house is out to wind me up.or then again, maybe its me...am trying to keep house really tidy but everyone keeps messing it up. its suddenly very important to me that its tidy and clean everywhere. (i hope this is a nesting phase cause in a family this size thinking like that always is abit stressful!!!)
dh is off after a meeting this morning. and HES driving me mad too I must be sooooooooo much fun to be around now!!
ebbie stop mentioning blinds or.....
george, sounds like a nice day ahead of you, take it easy hun. and I'm not supposed to get in the pool before 4cm dilated so will be crawling round floor with laptop trying to be distracted when it happens you had bette be online whenever that is!!!
s/h lovely to hear from you. makes my day.

dramaqueen72 · 13/12/2005 10:28

ninah, hello!! we've missed you. glad your trip was good, -aside from scary 'labour?' twinge moment- and hers hoping your little house gets snapped up asap. a new year and a new start, fabulous! make sure you mail me your new address etc etc when it does happen. hope everyone at work is looking after you today?

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 13/12/2005 10:44

Hey Ninah. Glad you had a good few days & looking very positive for a new house then. I hope yours sells quickly. Glad P is being civil at least. Have you got plans sorted for the birth, eg, who will drive you to the hopital?

DQ, I'm sure it's nesting otherwise you would have been driven mad a long time before now!

bonkerz · 13/12/2005 12:10

Morning all, just got back from pre-clerking appointment at hospital. Definately all booke for Monday 19th December and will be going down to labour ward at 1pm, section is at 2pm and im first in so very low risk of emergency delaying mine! So finger crossed Alex Leigh will be here by 3pm on MOnday!! Really cant wait now. Am still really tired. Had horrid BH all day yesterday and lost some gunk (sorry tmi!) Boobs also went into overdrive and i expressed loads off them! Up till 4am this morning feeling VERY uncomfortable and tummy hurting but seems to have all stopped again now although its still not nice in knicker department! Midwife at hospital gave me some emergency numbers to ring if it all kicks off though! Just my bloomin luck really!

Jaysfirst · 13/12/2005 12:13

Good luck with the house hunting Ninah, its always a bit of a trying time spec when you are preggers too! i too have had big nerve re the birth, have been putting off thinking bout it, but its iminent now so brain has to think, even if its just a ickkle bit!

lol DQ @ grouchy....i have been at that place for about a month, but i know what you mean about wanting to keep it all tidy, and i only have DH to worry about messing it up, power to you with all your tribe!!
Speaking of pressies for the baby george, i came back from Nots with more pressies for her than are for me and DH....and she isnt even born!!! mad huh, still gives me more to open on christmas day!

I havent been feeling baby move a lot over the past 4/5 days, i realise that there wont be much room for her in there but i should be feeling somehting ?? have mw on Fri should i wait till then? Maybe theres something i can do to try and move her about?? any hints?

expatinscotland · 13/12/2005 12:14

the end is near, ladiues. sending you labour vibes - one handed type. expressed loads off left boob w/scabby blister just now

Jaysfirst · 13/12/2005 12:16

ah theres bonkerz... was wondering where you were.
its all real now babe isnt it, nice that you have a plan laid out for you, all exciting stuff!!

See everyone is having movments and BH nad now even milk needing to be expressed, i have NOTHING.....

dramaqueen72 · 13/12/2005 12:26

jays, dont worry i make STACKS of milk, enough to express and freeze and feed full time,.... but never really leak any til the baby is actually here. so youre perfectly normal.
re movements.......well you need ten a day,
so drink something like OJ or hot chocolate, lie down on your side after and count.....sure you know what times are more likely to be active for you beanie...do it then, ten isnt alot to count too you'll find during the day, even on quiet days. if you dont get ten one whole day try trh nest day,,,,if by that lunch time you still dont, ring the labour dayunit and go in for a 'non stress test' (they strap a monitor to your belly ahnd measure movements for awhile. I ahd to do that last pg, and its easy to be reassured that way that worry sick at home. they dont mind, and they would rather you called them than not. hth.
bonkerz, gosh monday? scary soon! how many weeks early will alex be? you were due after christmas werent you? or has my pg brain lost it again. hope it all goes well and shes just lovely for you. youve not enjoyed this pg have you? poor girl.
expat -LOL at one handed typing, I'm sooo good at that from bfing my last one. just takes so long the threads moved on by the time you post!!LOL its lovely of you 'had them already' ladies to keep coming on here and willing us on.
we're all getting abit fed up here as you can tell!!

dramaqueen72 · 13/12/2005 12:27

sorry, -mad fast typing errors and this is with TWO hands!!!PMSL!!

Jaysfirst · 13/12/2005 12:35

Thanks DQ, always good to be re assurred....am going to make some lunch now, shes norm active in the afternoon, so will try then...if i can get on my side! might have to semi lie down!

Dot wory about the typos, its easy enought to decipher, i am the worst for typing and then posting without checking, it gives people a bit of fun tryig to guess what i am tryig to say!!

dramaqueen72 · 13/12/2005 12:40

Nemoinapeartree · 13/12/2005 12:44

Nemoinapeartree · 13/12/2005 13:26

aww dq it really wont be long left for you either.

I have just realised that going in on thurs it will be a year to the day that we found out last baby died. Making me a feel a bit upset as its a bitter sweet moment.

Jaysfirst · 13/12/2005 14:23

awww nimo, it is a truely bitter sweet memory for you, but i am sure when you get o hold your little one it will all have been worth it. ((((((((Hugs ))))))

Jaysfirst · 13/12/2005 14:27

have had lunch and orange juice, had a kinda lie down...as much as is possible, and had a cpl of movments, nothing significant tho.....been proding her, thinkiing she would resisit me, but nothing ewither...+

babygibbon · 13/12/2005 14:30

Nemo - sorry that its a bitter sweet day, our thoughts will be with you on Thurs.

DQ - am also in pain so feel for you. Grrrr. baby must be lying on a (sciatic?) nerve, I have pain all down one leg and can't do anything without it hurting. Doesn't help that DD is in a very clingy mood as she's got a cold coming on and DH is on an overnight so won't be home now until 4pm tomorrow (except if I go into labour...fingers crossed!)

Does anyone else have pain really really low down in their back, almost in their bum really? What does this mean? (if anything)

Come on babies - we're waiting!

babygibbon · 13/12/2005 14:33

Jaysfirst, here's what works for me (although its different for everyone, and for each baby) - a bath really works for mad movement; lying down (difficult for you I know), faking midwife prodding (lie back and feel your bump as a midwife would, always seems to work) Eating doesn't in my case (maybe that's because I seem to be grazing all the time!).

If you're still worried do as DQ says and go to the hospital. I was up there all the time with my first - this one's more active so I haven't gone but they always found me a student midwife with time for a cup of tea and chat...

Jaysfirst · 13/12/2005 14:38

thanks BG, i reckon i will go tomorrow, give her the rest of today and a bath and more prodding later on, and call them in the morning...prob worrying over nothing, although i am not a worrier and take things in my stride, this is a bit different, so i guess it pays to be on the ball...

can say i am with you tho on the pain down below...although i have constant pain down there so i cant distiguish between any diff types of pain!!

awayninahmanger · 13/12/2005 15:17

jays, my bump was a bit quiet yesterday, I think cos there's not much room responded to a curry tho, worth a try Please don't worry
Nemo will be thinking of you on Thursday and wishing you all the best xxx

bonkerz · 13/12/2005 15:40

Hi all

Jays, hope baby starts moving for you! From 36 weeks when i was pregnant with DS he decided to be lazy! I was at hospital being monitered every other day. Found that by placing a speaker on bump and blasting music at him he started to jig about! I know how worrying it can be but most of the time they just like to sleep! Maybe shes resting up cos the big day is coming?

DQ: Alex will be 8 days early by hospital dates so still full term.

Fell asleep on sofa this afternoon only to be woken by one of my mindees dads looming over me 20 minutes later! Very frightening but silly me for not locking back door! He just let himself in!!

Nemo, Hope to catch you on MSN beofre Thursday but if i dont want to send you huge hugs babe. Right there with you on the bitter sweet feelings, but we have come so far and have so much to be thankful for. If i dont catch you just remember to tell DH to text me regardless of time etc so i can update this thread! Will not sleep till i know baby nemo is here!!

Jaysfirst · 13/12/2005 16:26

off to make a curry for dinner, if this doesnt shift her then nothing will!!!!! spk later ladies, hugs to everyone xxxxxx

ei23mistletoe · 13/12/2005 16:27

flutterbeedreaminofawhitexmas · 13/12/2005 16:44

Hi Ladies,

keeping a close eye on you all to see who will be next to go.

Went Xmas shopping with DH yesterday and we split up in town to get each others presents, I was very please with myself when we met back up as I had managed to get him a CD he wanted from George and a sat nav unit from me (very expensive but I know he will love it) but when we met up I looked down hoping to see bags of goodies for me to open Xmas morning and what do I see nothing but a bloody ELC bag turns out he didn't even get to looking for me he was straight into the ELC and bought George a big play nest for his present, so not only have I got nothing for Xmas but I didn't even get to help choose my own bloody sons present.

Merry bloody christmas to you all !!!!!!!!!

Nemoinapeartree · 13/12/2005 17:10
