Hello good idea from tomcat

What are all your xmas tips and recipes or stuff you're doing to get you thru the next fewdays/weeks to EDD's

I going to try and make a stocking to hang in the nursery for when my little lewis comes home and for the first time bake a christmas cake.

I cant have this baby yet,i just cant...sleeping on sofa again tonight, not that i can sleep.....Am so worried that it will be too painful to bf...

ebbie22 · 08/12/2005 23:30

Sorry for the rant.....take care all of u

dramaqueen72 · 09/12/2005 00:31

blimey! ebbie do take care, sounds like a rough week there hun!
ei -oh er....keep us uptodate.
v jealous of babies ariving, am hurting and bored with shows/half shows, dodgy tummy upsets and the inability to move far...... if it was the start of labour -bring it on, if its just falling apart cause I'm this pg then GRRRRRRRRRRRRR
george, yes WHy do partners forget we need them sober and useful at this stage???? my dh got an earful for not being the other night,,,,,he is much better now, just dreading his works do... its not like we can go out and 'forget' for abit. I do hope your dp sees it from your point of view. maybe if he found you searching the address book and on asking why was told you were finding a stand in supporter for the birth of his baby for the nights hes NOT sober he would sit up and listen!! but then I'm in a cruel mood...

dramaqueen72 · 09/12/2005 08:38

morning ladies.........
anyone having their babies today?

MINNIE1 · 09/12/2005 08:43

EI,
best wishes to you, will be thinking of you today..

Ebbie,
O hun hope you have a nights sleep and that the mastitis clears up..

SH, Hope all is well with you and Lucas

ITS MY LAST DAY Yipppppeeeeee!!!

scully · 09/12/2005 08:45

What's happening ei? Hope everyone else is feeling ok?? I'm ok here, still not in a desperate hurry for baby to arrive, 39wks tomorrow and not too uncomfortable. See the midwife this afternoon so hoping baby is still in a good position, for my vbac.
Also have dd's Xmas play this afternoon, which I'm looking forward to - a room full of noisy shepherds and angels - you can just imagine
You've reminded me to tell dh not to drink too much tonight when we are at friends for dinner - had thought of that on previous things where he's been drinking, but had forgotten about it for tonight, strangely.
How was Lucas' first night at home sh?

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 09/12/2005 09:21

Hi all,
Ei, sounds promising. Hope all is going well for you.
Ebbie, you poor thing. Sounds like you are having a dreadful week. Hope you managed to get off to sleep in the end.

DQ, it sounds very promising for you too. How have you done this 3 times already??? It really must be worth it in the end.
I did point out last night to DP that he should phone his mum in order to get someone on standby in case anything happened. Didn't see him before he went to work but he has sent me a very apologetic e-mail this morning promising that it won't happen again. I'm so relieved that he gets it and I'm not just being a pain. It's tough for them I know, especially at this time of year. I think they understand more before they have a drink!

Have a good time at your DDs nativity play Scully. Last one I went to made me cry (& that was before I was p/g!). Hoping to get to DSS's next week if I can get a ticket. I love them.

ebbie22 · 09/12/2005 10:55

dramaqueen72 · 09/12/2005 14:23

scary thought nemo but nice too.....
am just taking a quick breather in the midst of putting up decorations and trees. phew.... its hard work!! three garlands, and two trees in place now, justt he baubles to go on trees and a few 'other things' around the house. now if this doesnt bring on labour- I GIVE UP!!
hope everyones well.

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 09/12/2005 15:10

Quiet today.
Nemo, how exciting for you. It must be lovely to have a date rather than all this hanging round.

Just been out to buy the last few bits of christmas shopping for my family as I'm off to see them tomorrow. Not looking forward to sitting in the car for hours on end but at least once it's done that is me sorted for christmas & I can just relax and wait for things to happen.

DQ, you sound very energetic today. I think things are looking very hopeful for you over the next week.

flutterbeedreaminofawhitexmas · 09/12/2005 15:14

flutterbeedreaminofawhitexmas · 09/12/2005 15:35

I wasn't due till the 18th SG but little George is 4 weeks old today

flutterbeedreaminofawhitexmas · 09/12/2005 15:36

That reminds me I have finally posted my birth story on the postnatal thread for anyone who is interested, its a bit long but there was a lot to say OK

flutterbeedreaminofawhitexmas · 09/12/2005 17:24

WOW it is really really slow on here today maybe you have all gone into labour at the same time

dramaqueen72 · 09/12/2005 17:44

I am hurting, and those stupid but unbelieveably painful leg and foot cramps have come back and literally cripple me. okay i admit it, lifting trees in pots and climbing ladders etc may have over done it. now I'm paying for it getting in the bath to see if that helps. sorry to grumble and moan ladies but tearful here....
My hand is up for ei too, i do hope shes okay.
have christmassy house now. but almost wishing I had stopped earlier. yes its my fourth time george, you'd think I'd learn...

Nemoinapeartree · 09/12/2005 17:50

FB I am about just in the middle of coking adams tea. He wants sausage sandwiches tonight..lol

DQ take it easy lady...believe me moving big items not good idea, my shoulder is only just not really painful but in a dull aching mode...grrr..lol

Hope everyone is ok...think EI may be in labour as she isnt even signed into msn..lol

Not done a lot this afternoon went to bed 2-4pm and thats about it. unless you count unloading and loading dishwasher..lol

babygibbon · 09/12/2005 20:57

Huge congratulations SH! Fantastic news, and great timing...

Good luck Ei!

Nothing much happening here. Saw midwife yesterday and she said baby not engaged (but as it's the second it may not engage until labour) and nothing else happening. I know it's silly but I really wanted her to say, oh yes, it'll definitely arrive in the next week, so I left disappointed. Very silly, as every time my last midwife made a prediction, she was completely and utterly wrong anyway!

We're due to go and stay with my mum for 3 nights over Christmas (and my due date). If I did have the baby away from my home, does anyone know what happens about midwife visits after the birth and also where I'd need to register the birth - could I do that at home when I got back or would it need to be done in London?

Hope all are well...

dramaqueen72 · 09/12/2005 22:56

babygibbon you need to tell yrou midwife and get her to let you know where and when all these things happen for you if away when you deliver. youre very brave! I dont move more than ten minutes from my own door when due! and dont be disheartened by no prediction from midwife...like you say last time I was told 'oh anyday now' for three weeks!!!!!!! crushing when they are wrong!

ebbie22 · 10/12/2005 08:58

Well due date is today, any news on ei?Hope everyone is still coping ok,not long now girlys....Household still at deaths door but i amm so knackard i wish i could disapear for an hour or two, where i woulf find the energy to go,god only knows...lol
Has anyone got flutters address?

santageorgeiscomingtotown · 10/12/2005 09:24

Sounds like you need some serious sleep Ebbie, hope you have a quiet day planned.
I don't think we have Flutters address so you could try CATing her I guess.

BG, you are brave going away at Christmas. I'm off to visit my family today and that will be it for me until the baby is born apart from visiting DPs family who all live locally. Whatever you do, don't forget your notes!!!

Nemo, your days sound like mine! It is a result if I get the dishwasher done - too much bending
Your countdown is moving sooooooo quickly! I'm so that you will get to meet your little one in just a few days.

Oh Ei, hope you are OK. It reminds me that I really must give DP instructions on how to post on here just in case!!

ebbie22 · 10/12/2005 09:28

hope everyone has a gd day today, going to be taking it a bit easier todat as cleaned hoouse from top to bottom yesterday....got pains in left side though...
