Badgerwife · 18/07/2011 16:03

button well done!!!

I'm still here too at 39+3 - Been offered a sweep at 41 weeks, it feels like ages away I really hope to be done by then... Have been feeling really crappy the last couple of days, lots of twitches, cramps, massive baby rolls, plus, joy oh joy, upper as well as lower back pain, but nothing seems to be moving. Grr.

Eglu · 18/07/2011 16:26

Button congratulations. I absolutely adore the name Seth, but DH never allowed me to use it.

conggrats to Fraoch too. Great story.

JimmyChoo17 · 18/07/2011 18:56

Hi all!
Would love to say baby jimmy is here but no!!!

After an eventful sat and Sunday...my labour stopped. Got called in hospital and checked all ok. Had sweep...not too awful actually was expecting worse.

My biggest problem is that baby has engaged and I am in so much pain with my pelvis. Has anyone managed to find a miracle for this? I'm in tears with the pain and when I was contracting it made it even worse.

I hadn't suffered with pelvis throughout pregnancy but am really bad with it now. All I can do is take paracetemol which doesn't even touch it. I can't sit still, I can't move, I can't pee without nearly passing out don't even talk to me about poohing....baths help but only once I'm in. I can't sleep. I can't believe I chose to do this either!!! i have a shoulder stuck over my pubic bone.

I've had 3 hours sleep in 2 days, now having a stinging dilating cervix and the worst possible pelvic pain I could even imagine.....gas n air and water birth plan??? Give over....is it too early for an epidural?

Sorry for the moan but I am seriously in tears with this pain and nothing I can do to stop it other than actually give birth which has stalled!!

A highly fed up and unhappy in pain jimmy signing off to cry into my birth ball....

oh jimmy sounds hellish, have any waters gone? what did hospital say? just see you when we see you? or is there a plan of action?

Been thinking of you and sure you would have had baby by now Sad

cara2244 · 18/07/2011 20:58

Things I had forgotten about newborns....
Cluster feeding. SHe has been on and off the boob for the past two hours.
EXploding poo.
Leaky boobs.
That attractive 'exposed nursing clips' look.

cara2244 · 18/07/2011 21:08

Jimmy, I think you can use codeine as a painkiller in labour? Stronger than paracetemol. Maybe speak to the midwife on the emergency number too if labour suite are being useless. Good luck x

JimmyChoo17 · 18/07/2011 21:11

WHOOSH [jimmy rushes out the door faster than her spd allows to get drugs]

Thanks cara will ask.

congrats to button by the way not sure if missed other births have read and run today in case anyone has birthed and I turn green with envy!!!

Hi ladies, sorry you are having a tough time jimmy, hope it all happens soon. Had a sweep today at3pm and have been cramping since, think something might be starting as a contracting every 10 minutes or so now since about 8pm. Fingers crossed this is it! Will keep you posted. No show so far, do you have to have a show to be in labour? (would think i would knowsecond time round!!!!)

fallingandlaughing · 18/07/2011 22:20

hi all, I haven't been on in a while..

congratulations to everyone who has delivered their baby and good luck to those still waiting.

I gave birth to a beautiful little girl 10 days ago. Can hardly believe that I am a Mum and have the most lovely baby I could imagine!

The (induced) labour was pretty routine, i was very glad to overturn my plan not to have pain relief. However the actual delivery and aftermath was what I would term traumatic. Episiotomy, forceps that required reinsertion, huge bleeding skin loss, cuts and brusing to my DD, postpartum haemhorrage, Group B strep infection of DD's face etc etc.

But she is here and OK and one day I'll be able to sit down again!

SpannerPants · 18/07/2011 22:30

Cara the explosive poos have been catching us out today! We had a hat trick at 5am this morning when changing a nappy after said explosive poo, Henry then puked over himself and peed in his ear!

Jimmy I was convinced you would have had your baby by now, I'm sending labour vibes your way!

Button congratulations, love the name and looking forward to hearing the birth story.

We came home at lunchtime so have had a lovely afternoon of naps (ahhh nothing like your own bed!), feeding and just watching Henry sleep, followed by DP making a candlelit dinner with a mini bottle of champagne :)

nicolamumof3 · 18/07/2011 22:42

oh falling that does sound traumatic Sad glad you and dd all ok now.

jimmy hope you find some relief soon.

well i've been out for my anniversary dinner, bloody lovely but very full and uncomfortable now so off to my gorgeous comfy bed in a minute.

My mum loves the pram and carrycot that came today, its just missing baby girl now. Maybe she'll come now im all ready for her.

MissLolita · 19/07/2011 00:20

Hi ladies, I've had a very eventful day; Yesterday I had mild contractions all day but they tailed off; I woke up at 5am this morning with much stronger contractions that stayed about 20mins apart. I went for a 3rd sweep this morning in the hope of kick starting something before tmrw night's planned induction but I realised that I hadn't felt the baby move and she didn't moveuch even after the sweep. Mw sent me to hospital for monitoring and although she was ok she was at the bottom end of the tracing spectrum so it was agreed that I would stay and be induced. As it turned out i was already 3cm so they broke my waters at about 5pm today. The baby's heart rate has been up and down so I was pretty much kept attached to the monitor and although I was standing it was a nightmare not being able to move and as I figured it wasn't going to get any easier as I couldn't get out to move around so I requested an epidural - there didn't seem any point in waiting until things got really bad and i got tired and upset and then having one - as it turned out I was already 7cm by the time I had the epi but it had been bliss ever since! I had a wonderful rest and I am now playing the waiting game....babyL will be here later today!!

JimmyChoo17 · 19/07/2011 01:08

:( I am so tired. I can't get any sleep not even 10 mins. I won't b given any anything for this pelvic pain I can't take anything this far into pregnancy like stronger pain relief apparently. Hospital Mw has said just got to put up with it. I'm sure others have felt this pain but this is now unbearable I'm crying and wailing thru the pain...im not even in labour yet?!?? A bath is a temporary fix but still suffer in there. surely being left in this level of pain isn't right?

When it comes to birth now I am dreading it. I am too tired to even crawl up the stairs let alone birth a baby. This is not how I imagined it at all I'm so :(

If I could choose to have a section right now I would as it would end the pain.

I've turned my phone on to lots of "have u had the baby yet?" messages....no I fking haven't!!! Remind me why don't u!!!!!!!!! I'm so upset.

The sweep is clearly not going to produce anything either :( :(

JimmyChoo17 · 19/07/2011 01:09

Sorry total downer of a wingey post but I'm at breaking point!

OP posts:
MissLolita · 19/07/2011 01:38

Oh Jimmy! I don't know what to say or suggest but I really feel for you! Is it worth calling delivery suite/just turning up demanding to be seen??

JimmyChoo17 · 19/07/2011 01:57

I was in there earlier due to stalled labour and they even said then they wouldn't do anything. Induction would have been the only offering but they refuse to until next week :(

Just had more bloody show and lost plug....sorry for tmi but wish that was a definite sign things were about to happen.

How are u progressing hon?

OP posts:
JimmyChoo17 · 19/07/2011 01:58

Out of interest....Have u had any pressure where baby has dropped into your pelvis?

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 19/07/2011 05:30

Morning all, think things could be on the move!

woke at 4.18 feeling 'damp' think my waters are going slowly, was a bit pinkish went back to bed but cannot sleep so up now with a cuppa and see how i go. Feeling a bit crampy it will all stop or all kick off soonish going by past experience.

nicolamumof3 · 19/07/2011 05:35

Just read back Jimmy, feeling for you hunnie, hope things are well on their way. My last labour I had been extremely poorly for a month before, with sinisutis, chest infection the works, i was so weak. I remember feeling i would never push this baby out.

When i got to hospital the mw said i looked 'dreadful'!!! and offered me an epidural must have been well dilated 7/8cm or even more as she said she could clearly see head, but why don't i have a little 'rest or sleep first' which i did after epidural.

It was bliss. So try not to worry about the birth now, as you will get through it I can only imagine your pain so bloody annoying. Fingers crossed you are now on your way tho Smile

missl hope your little one is here too! fingers crossed xx

JimmyChoo17 · 19/07/2011 06:57

God just reading your post set me off again Nicola.(but thanks for words of encouragement) what a mess ive become. Feel pathetic this morning but managed 30 mins sleep but when I got up my pelvis cracked and been immobile since. Am downstairs so once hubby is up and going to get him to drop me in the bath. The dog has been sat loyally with me since I was at my worst at around 3 funny how they pick up on these things. And he's a daft dog Normally so must be sensing my pain! Had lots more show again just now, amazing how much of that stuff there is in there!?

Things sound like they might be starting for u now hopefully too :) hope MissL is doing ok too.

Good to read that u managed to get some rest once u were given pain relief.

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 19/07/2011 07:33

yep once you get that epidural its amazing it did actually make me a bit drowsy. The MW's words were 'I can see baby's head, we can start this or you can have a little rest first' i went for the 'rest' i.e epidural, then she woke me after an hour, pronounced that head was there and 'shall we just push baby out now dear?' (lovely mw!) and we did there he was just like that. The most chilled labour ever.

Well after I posted decided to do some ironing as you do Grin hung some washing out, ds2 and 3 up having brekkie. Woke dh at 6.30 told him to get up and get going bless him.

Still leaking away (sorry tim) bit of blood but not a full on show. But I think from previous that the show is most definitely on the road.

As soon as I move gets more painful.

Jimmy im really feeling for you its horrible been in that much pain and you must be exhausted. Will dh stay with you today? or anyone else so you aren't on your own?

cara2244 · 19/07/2011 08:58

Misslolita you will be next then!! Looking forward to hearing your news.
