Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
JimmyChoo17 · 17/07/2011 14:12

Hi!
Contractions are every 10 mins am not sure if its tens but dealing with them better than earlier. Have had to up the intensity mind. Wish mw could just look at me tell me all is as it should be and that something's happening...it just seems so slow. How often dud u contact your hospital? Glad at home mind as being sat about in there would not been fun. Had a couple of 10 min naps. Hubby doesn't know what to do with himself!

How you doing Jimmy??!

I feel alone, am I the only one not in labour or already had baby Sad im ok waiting but not all by myself Grin

notnearlyasblondasiwas · 17/07/2011 20:50

I am still here! Not in labour, am overdue 4 days and got a sweep booked for tomorrow. Am not happy waiting, am very very grumpy now!

LadyGoneGaga · 17/07/2011 20:50

Don't worry, Nicola. I'm still here. Have been lurking as we have moved house and no broadband. But still very much here. Induction booked for next Sunday though due to the GD. Would really like to go naturally before that if poss but as MW couldn't even reach my cervix on Friday to sweep think is unlikely.

Any signs from you?

nicolamumof3 · 17/07/2011 21:07

was cramping alot last night and thought things were kicking off...but no! Im ok waiting atm.

Have routine mw on wednesday, not sure what policy is here for sweep/induction. Will find out tho im sure.

Eglu · 17/07/2011 21:08

I go out for the day and it all starts happening. Good luck Jimmy

SpannerPants · 17/07/2011 21:24

Woohoo go Jimmy!

We're going home tomorrow, Henry is feeding well even though we're still using nipple shields. My milk has come in today - I feel like I have Jordan's boobs and they're really sore. I'm hoping we'll be able to wean off the nipple shields this week - going to contact the NCT breastfeeding counsellor when I get home.

Lynzilove · 17/07/2011 21:24

Fed up, had a sweep, 1cm dilated and really soft cervix on Wednesday + a sweep, show Thursday night, been 'clearing out' for several days. Had little twinges today but nothing major!!

Bored now! Good luck to the ladies going through it at the moment though!

nicolamumof3 · 17/07/2011 21:27

Lynzilove are you over yet?

SP why the nipple shields? Im hoping BF works this time for us gave up with minimal support with DS2 and 3 but will try and take it easier this time and see what happens.

Be lovely to get home tho tomorow x

nicolamumof3 · 17/07/2011 21:28

Oh and my carrycot should be here tomorrow so at least i can set that up. I have a bee+ but wanted a proper carrycot so got one to use on micralite superlite chassis. sorting that out might start things off! got get the wheels on and take the pushchair fabric off, cue lots of swearing no doubt!

Lynzilove · 17/07/2011 21:57

40+3. Not far over but have been hoping with the good signs I've been getting.
Got another sweep tomorrow to try and move things along if nothing happens overnight.

minicorrect · 17/07/2011 22:28

I'm still here too nicola and still 2 weeks from my due date so very envious of all the ladies that already have their babies and are en route to meeting them as mine could be a long way off yet!

Lots of luck overnight Jimmy - hope things are taking off for you now and you managed to get enough rest today to make it happen!

Glad things are getting better for you Spanner and you get to go home. Will never forget my milk coming in and sitting in bed in the wee small hours watching my boobs inflate in front of my eyes. The pain was like nothing I'd ever known before! Hope they settle soon and you and Henry get into a good routine.

Good luck tomorrow Lynzilove - sounds like another sweep could really get things going for you!

Still no sign of our cat - put some posters up today and had one call which really touched me as I was expecting jokers and no-one to take it seriously. But this is her 3rd night alone and as stupid as it sounds, I keep finding myself on the verge of tears thinking about her. Especially as she's quite old and has no experience of cars or the "outside world" as such. Just keep hoping she'll reappear and we can give her lots of cuddles. Neither of us want the baby to come while she's gone either which probably sounds a bit weird too.

Right time for bed - looking forward to some BAs in the morning!

SpannerPants · 17/07/2011 22:32

Nic - a combination of big boobs, relatively small nipples and a baby who was reluctant to suck!

Fraochsmum · 17/07/2011 22:47

Hi All! So sorry I've been MIA for a wee while, but wanted to say a bit more than "hello & goodbye".
Congratulations to all those who have already had their little ones and best of luck to those in the process!
I had another wee girl a couple of weeks ago at 38+1wks, and here's our story:
31/06 - Go for 1st visit to hospital in Glasgow
31/06 - Have show
03/07 - Waters start breaking and make way to Glasgow for birth/induction
04/07 - Nowt happened so am placed bottom of list for induction due to having no complications etc. Thankfully this gives me enough time to walk the length of the city/climb the stairs more times than I care to remember and body kicks in before that. I started having v mild contractions that were very easily breathed through. I got an antibiotic for baby due to waters going and decided to have an examination to see if anything was happening sometime later.
I was 4/5cm dilated and the rest of my waters burst at that time, my (really fantastic, early 20's) midwife said they were just waiting to go as they were so thin. The contractions got gradually more strong and I had a couple of paracetamol and decided to get back on my exercise ball, when I assume gravity took hold. I had one huge contraction all of a sudden and was surprise at mw asking me to get back on bed in case the baby came. DH helped get my pj's off and handed me some g&a, several pushes later and she was here!
It happened to be 40 mins for 1st and 2nd stage labour and in all honestly, I was taken totally by surprise. After the almost 3 hours of pushing with DD1, there was no way that was happening again! Placenta came away like a dream too!
Baby here at 8.41pm and discharged at 10am next morning, perfect. 6lb14oz at 13 days early, feeds like a demon (so shields used intermitantly), but gained 1/2lb in a week so mightily pleased.
Will def try and keep up more with this thread, best wishes to all xxx

SelinaDoula · 17/07/2011 22:49

All very exciting hearing about you lot in labour!
I'm 38+3. I was in labour with my DD at this gestation but no real signs of imminent labour yet.
Getting little period like twinges every now and again but nothing major.
Good luck all!

HighFibreDiet · 18/07/2011 04:57

wow fraochsmum that's a great birth story, I hope dc4 only takes 40 mins Grin

A few of us still here, nicola

Lynzilove · 18/07/2011 07:58

So woke at 3.30 this morning with bad backache and a few twinges, DP decided to help things along and got some BIG twinges, however, got about half an hour sleep and had to get up as could sleep and nothing else has happened.

3 and half hours sleep and nothing to show for it!! Sad come on baby!!

inbetweener · 18/07/2011 08:55

nicola i'm still bloody here !!!!!

I am so peed off today. I am 39 + 4 today and oh I feel it. I havent had an appt since 35 weeks and dont have another booked till I am 41 weeks so no chance of an early sweep ! I feel sick today, I have an upset tummy, I am in a foul mood and I just did the most agonising school run. Every step sent pain from my privates up through my belly button. I genuinely feel horrible.
I barely slept last night waking every hour and DH didnt come to bed till 3.45 am as he was playing a p.c game so I am enraged !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

button hope things are ok with you x
farochsmum congrats !!!!!!!! fab story !
minicorrect hope your cat turns up soon. Ours was killed in march and im still not over it Sad its horrid.
lynzilove hope your twinges turn into something Envy

Right, well I feel so awful I am tempted to go back to bed for a while Blush. Might go and sleep in dd1 bed though as I am not talking to DH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh I feel sick !! I just wish thee belly button pains would bloody do something !!

nicolamumof3 · 18/07/2011 09:19

Oh inbetweener, i remember feeling crappy like this last week too, and felt a bit down yesterday.

Today is a better day. Managed school run without too much pain actually. Am back home now just having an oj and some toast then into town with dsd3 to get his hair cut, have huge bag of ebay parcels to send and some banking to do.

May buy some nipple shields actually?? Oh and some pram sheets for new carrycot which should be here today.

Had a sort out of all baby girls clothes last night so good to go now.

Oh and its my wedding anniversary today, so fab day for it!

Hope Button's ok and enjoying newborn snuggles, and I reckon Jimmy's well on her way now too!

nicolamumof3 · 18/07/2011 09:20

Lynzilove · 18/07/2011 12:21

So midwives been. Couldn't do sweep, cervix has moved back (not entirely sure what that means) but all i do know is that she couldn't do the sweep which is pants. Got another booked for Saturday and induction will be booked for next Tuesday at 12 days over.

Proper waiting game now!
