bloody internet connection Angry. Typed a long message that was lost. I really should go to bed now but just wanted to mark my place and say congrats to isitreallythattime and salter.

Also to post this link about what new mums (and bubs) really need:
organicearthymummy.blogspot.com/2011/07/what-new-mothers-really-need-after.html

It's not my blog post but please forgive the spelling mistakes.

cara2244 · 15/07/2011 17:35

Congratulations isitreallythattime! I am still babymooning and She is 2.5 weeks old!! Someone rang the doorbell just now and I ignored it because I was napping...even tho I had woken up! Hardly anyone has held her yet, Just grandparents.
How long is too long to babymoon??

Jimmychoo, I had 45 mins of immediate skin to skin in hospital before she had been wiped or anything. She was just under towels and The midwife left us completely alone for ages, well apart from my OH and the call button. It was lovely!

nicolamumof3 · 15/07/2011 21:36

no more announcements then??! Grin

had a chilled evening, dh made lamb kebabs and yummy rice, and i had a glass of vino. All good. oh and bag of ds2's caramel mini eggs (well easter was nearly 3m ago! Blush

now off to bed. Due a weekend of rain..perfect birthing weather i reckon!

Finally ordered carrycot today as well, so when it comes and i decide what colour sheets to buy im good to go. Tho tonight is fine as well!!

Want2bSupermum · 15/07/2011 22:16

Congrats on the new additions.

Things going better here now that Anna is feeding properly. She ate 6oz of formula this morning and at one point was sucking so hard on the bottle I thought she might inhale it!

Jimmy It has now been just over a week since I had Anna and while it felt awful in the moment I have forgotten most of the ickyness already. I am amazed at how quickly I have recovered too. I have taken no painkillers today and took Anna for a walk. I couldn't have done this 2 days ago.

SpannerPants · 15/07/2011 22:42

We're still in the postnatal ward, struggling a bit with feeding as he seems reluctant to open his mouth wide or suck anything other than his bottom lip! I've been pumping and syringe feeding him instead but he's starting to take more of an interest so hopefully tomorrow will be less frustrating for both of us! The midwives are great and are encouraging me to cosleep which is lovely :)

Hope Buttons induction went well!

JimmyChoo17 · 16/07/2011 01:26

Ok I know it means nothing but....it's due date today! Panic aside...... That bits exciting Grin

Wonder how button and scotty r doing....

OP posts:
Want2bSupermum · 16/07/2011 05:23

Spanner I hope the feeding starts to turn around for you. I found skin on skin really helpful for calming Anna down. I just sat there topless with Anna on my chest (her in just a nappy) and a blankie over her to keep her warm. It calmed her down a lot. I spend at least one feed cycle each day like this with Anna.

I hope button was able to have an epidural from the get go with her induction. Most painful part was the inital induction as no painkiller involved, just an ambien to make me sleep and I still haven't figured out what the point was of the 2 paracetamol! DH told me I slept like a dead donkey (must have been snoring!)

Want2bSupermum · 16/07/2011 05:26

Spanner I forgot to say that Anna will not open her mouth up sometimes to feed. I don't know what causes this to happen but I found the skin on skin has helped to reduce the number of times it happens. It also helps reduce the tension I am feeling.

nicolamumof3 · 16/07/2011 08:57

oh i love skin on skin lovely for both of you. Enjoy.

Hope button and scotty have their newborns by now.

Happy Due day my 16th July buddy Jimmy Wink

notnearlyasblondasiwas · 16/07/2011 09:20

Morning all, am very grumpy as still no labour action, am booked Monday for a sweep and not looking forward to it. Am going to te next sale to see if that helps!!

JimmyChoo17 · 16/07/2011 10:22

Back at you Nicola woken up with right lower back ache this morning but high bump with a third boob (high baby bum I think)

It's raining here...what a miserable day!

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 16/07/2011 10:33

oooh its awful here too, supposed to be all week tho now. I feel a bit crampy going to get on now and mop floors see how that works then do some ironing then go through all baby stuff and re-pack hospital bag!

feel a bit crampy but def not getting my hopes up Grin

have a good day everyone x

JimmyChoo17 · 16/07/2011 10:53

Hey u know what that means...good week for giving birth whilst it's not too hot :)

Still no nesting with me...however hubby is....! He's sorting shed and garage out???

I am pleased with how I've delegated pregnancy side effects....my work mate I sat with, well he spent my pregnancy tired, suffering indigestion, hot flushes etc! He's only 23 and usually very healthy. And now hubby is doing my nesting too! That's cracking.... And a little lazy!

I've had the phone calls already this morning asking if baby has arrived. Am v annoyed as we rarely lay in but are making the most of being able to but got woken early by "is it here yet"calls?!!

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 16/07/2011 11:05

Turn your phone OFF jimmy!

Thats what i do, i just unplug the thing. Right been very distracted bought more lovely baby things but now must get cracking on upstairs whilst dh is out with boys, its father toddler group today, he loves it as they get sausage/bacon sarnies!!

JimmyChoo17 · 16/07/2011 11:21

Mobile is off but landline....when I switch that off people appear at the door! Even worse. Is this a taste of things to come once baby is here? I might print off that handy guide posted above and issue to people ha ha!

Glad mobile was off, 6 texts from 6 am!!! Have text back the 6amtexter to let them know what I think of there timing Grin I can get away with an hormonal rant whilst still pregnant. Got no apology just a reply saying, well have u had it then seeing as I never text back at 6 am.....ignoring them now. Twunt.

Ooo think I might do some online retail therapy today too......

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 16/07/2011 11:50

idiots. I would just send a text to all saying 'don't call me im enjoying last few days of peace...will call you when theres something to announce!'

Badgerwife · 16/07/2011 15:46

I'm with nicola on this one, tell them to bugger off; as if you wouldn't tell people once you've had the child!

Eglu · 16/07/2011 15:50

I'm so glad I've never had a baby come after their due date, as that would really rile me. My Mum was on the phone a lot before DD was born, but never outright asked if anything was happening.

I just made flapjacks with DS2. Thank goodness for the moby as DD is not very good at being put down. The moby feels so secure though and I feel like I could do most things while wearing it, so if she doesn't improve I can at least stil lhave a clean house.

JimmyChoo17 · 16/07/2011 16:16

brilliant response nicola I'll use that rather than my rants its much more polite
than mine :) although following more probing nosey contact this afternoon I am thinking about replying with..."No progress yet but guess what today - for the first time all pregnancy I've had wee pushed out of me by my UNBORN child....Im also starting to walk like John Wayne" TMI? but kills 2 birds with one stone....updates and lets them know baby is still in there Grin

Badgerwife thats what I dont get...its such massive news of course they would all have heard do they think I would be able to contain myself?

....I've decided its the one major thing I have not enjoyed about being pregnant...other people!! Grrrr.

Has everyone had this awful rain today?

OP posts:
Badgerwife · 16/07/2011 16:34

People are strange... Like my ILS who keep having a "feeling" that ours is going to be early. Apparently they have a feeling about today - but they've had the feeling a couple of time before already... They are also convinced it's going to be a boy despite the quite obvious scan that it's a girl. I know it could be wrong but still... In frustration, I said to DH, this baby better be late as I don't want to give the irrational ILS the satisfaction of being right.
I'm so fed up with the pregnancy now though, and yet still I want them to be wrong, as I know it's only the beginning of a number of crazy notions they are going to get.

nicolamumof3 · 16/07/2011 18:18

lol badgerwife, il's eh? who'd 'ave em? Wink

No movement here Jimmy how about you? I feel much more relaxed now at 40w then i did at 38w as I know it has to happen now in the next couple of weeks, not the next month. Much much easier to get through.

Rain stopped here about 3hours ago so went with dh and two youngest to drop ds2 off at a party then wander round shop. Was having a few periody type cramps so thought a long walk be good. But no progression there. Surprisingly Grin

keep checking for BA from Scotty or Button. Im as bad as all your texters aren't i Jimmy.

Not one person has called me today to ask, or text. Fab, they know me by now obviously!!

cara2244 · 16/07/2011 20:00

Eglu, I have a moby too, love it. I have a mei tei I used for my son but its not so good for a newborn.

Eglu · 16/07/2011 20:51

I just wish I'd had the confidence to get a wrap before now for DS1 and DS2. They just looked to complicated until I watched videos on youtybe and realised it was quite simple.

It is very handy to have my hands free with 2 other DC

Also waiting for the birth announcements.

Scottygirl10 · 16/07/2011 21:19
