Ha ha I'll let u off Nicola! Its different if it's us lot as we are all in the same boat :)

No movement from me but my pelvic area has been very uncomfortable even wearing pants is bloody painful! Every now and then I get a right stabbing feeling in the fanjo. But baby still very high. Part of me wants it to start but am also still pooping myself about it!!!

Congrats Scottygirl! Love the name bet you're glad that's all over!

I've had cramps all day quite bad just now but who knows. Always had a show before labour but nothing this time, just going to the loo loads!

Just watched Black Swan kinda creeped me out a bit.

minicorrect · 16/07/2011 22:22

Congratulations Scotty!! And also to isthatreallythetime, salter, highheels and Spanner - sorry I missed you earlier. Glad the outcome was worth any difficulties you experienced. Hope you're all enjoying your babymoons and that feeding's going better for you Spanner.

I used Kari-Me and Calin Bleu wraps with DD1 and loved them, as they free up your hands nicely to do other things. Would highly recommend baby-wearing for anyone interested - it can be a bit of a faff getting the wrap on right, but is so worth the effort and will definitely be how we go this time too.

Nothing much to report here still (although 38 weeks tomorrow so feel it must be imminent now!). Had a real burst of energy yesterday after a good night's sleep - went to shops and walked normally despite the pain, then played with DD in the garden (football, etc), then did a load of weeding (we have a VERY overgrown garden) and then, when the workman had finished (yes finally!) the kitchen, did a load of cleaning (sweeping, etc) in there. All good but knew about it last night - ow!! And to top off the pain, we discovered one of our cats had got out the gate when the workman was loading up his car. As they used to be indoor cats, they don't tend to wander far - not even to the end of the garden really. She's still missing and we are beside ourselves with worry for her, especially after today's weather. DP had a good look for her last night as soon as we realised and we all walked round the local neighbourhood first thing this morning, but nothing. Have been feeling very emotional all day and of course DD has decided to play up lots which hasn't helped. Been in lots of pain as well - the worst seems to be this nerve type pain in my groin area whenever I'm standing and the baby moves. It starts there and works down my legs so they feel almost like they're going to give way. It seems to be getting worse too. Anyone else had this? It goes alongside the fanjo stabbing, lower back pain, bump aches and feeling that baby is trying to come out the wrong hole, but this seems to be the worst problem at the moment. Please don't let me go over - another day like this seems unthinkable at the moment!

minicorrect · 16/07/2011 22:23

Ooooo good luck nicola - hope they turn into something overnight!

Watched Black Swan last week too - great film if somewhat dark!

Still nothing from button I notice...?

nicolamumof3 · 16/07/2011 22:38

I doubt it, dh doesn't seem bothered! Due date today as well, so would be all too much of a good thing!!

Hope Button's ok

JimmyChoo17 · 16/07/2011 23:24

I'm going to the loo almost every 5 mins it seems after a drink the sudden pressure on my bladder is awful. Really hurts sometimes.

Not seen that film yet. Recommend it or not? Looks like I'll have some time to kill this week ;)

Ow ow oooooo www!

!!!OMG!!!! Woke up to some nice painful contractions or BH (not sure either way but bloody hurt, I've not really had bh to be honest) completely took my breath away..... also not sure if I'd had a show....excuse the tmi but I had a load of what was like jelly snot but no blood in it!?? Is that a show?

Ouch. Ouch. Lower backs starting to ache now. Should I be concerned or is this just early pre signs?

OP posts:
JimmyChoo17 · 17/07/2011 06:14

Am downloading a contraction app as seems to be frequent....I've had hardly any sleep so was not impressed with such a rude awakening...

OP posts:
JimmyChoo17 · 17/07/2011 06:30

Ok so I've google image searched a show.....that's not one to do before brekkie but according to those....it was a show. Do I don the tens machine now?

From what I have experienced this morning I can safely say I am amazed I am even kidding myself that gas and air are going to cut it...

OP posts:
HighFibreDiet · 17/07/2011 06:37

ooh jimmy this sounds exciting. And don't forget you can recover in between contractions, even if they are painful when happening.

Congrats to scotty

I am also a baby wearer. Couldn't have managed after ds2 came without a sling (Mei Tai) as ds2 had reflux and wouldn't sleep in the buggy/carseat. Haven't looked back since, and looking forward to carrying dd1 when she makes an appearance.

Don't want her to come out yet, though. Feeling pissed off as I fell on the stairs this morning carrying the dirty laundry and have a bruised coccyx. Sad. Has forced me to have a day in bed with hot water bottle. Midwife says there's not much else I can do except take paracetamol and wait for it to get better.

SpannerPants · 17/07/2011 06:47

I was the same Jimmy but gas and air is magical stuff! I was convinced I would need an epidural Grin good luck! And put the tens on ASAP as it takes an hour or so to work. Good luck!

Congratulations Scotty!

Baby Henry is finally feeding on demand so we may be going home later, I'm going to see how we get on today. It will be nice to be home but I have to admit to being a bit nervous about how we'll get on.

JimmyChoo17 · 17/07/2011 06:58

Hubby woke up just after me and started sealing the bath/sink etc...have had to stop him as would mean I couldn't use bath! Well I wouldn't let it stop me but considering he started this at 6am....is this some sort of male coping mechanism? Pain is every 15-20 mins or so (app not downloading, stupid net connection!)my butt hurts too.

I've suddenly realised I am clueless to what I should be doing so am going to grab that book they give you with your pack, which I have managed to ignore the birth section of so far....

This post has taken me over 10 mins to do as can't type When it happens!

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 17/07/2011 08:11

Yay jimmy! Yes that was a show. And deffo sounds as if you are on your way. Tens is great for early labour so get it on. Then just try and carry on as normal if poss. Between contractions should be ok to get on. Good luck and keep us posted!

My pains went off during the night, have lots to do today, make food shopping list and place ocado order so we have everything in for next week. pack ebay parcels and do ironing.

Plus i want a long walk try and get things moving, but more rain forecast later. grrr.

Can I just ask what does everyone have/had in their labour bag?

I have a hospital bag packed containing towels, nappies and wipes (naughty me but i can't do cotton wool) blanket, three sleepsuits and vest, two pairs of pj's, underwear and wash bag, pads for me thats about it. oh and some muslins

Then i have small bag to take into labour room which atm only contains two sleepsuits (one white one pink!) a vest and two nappies. Muslin cloth, and a long t-shirt for me, oh and a flannel! Am i missing something?? My births are normally very quick so not bothering with stuff like magazines/snacks etc. I normally only arrive a couple of hours before the baby arrives Smile

JimmyChoo17 · 17/07/2011 08:27

In between contractions I am still feeling pain and discomfort from the head I imagine in pelvis...is that normal? Pain not as bad as contraction. Going to ring mw shortly just to make sure am doing right thing.

I don't think hubby quite realises that mi may be in early labour but tbh it's easier just wandering around in stupid positions breathing like a yoga hippy on my own whilst he's now out in garage...oh and he DID reseal the blooody bath!

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 17/07/2011 08:37

lol Jimmy re bath. do whatever feels natural, i remember being on my own early stages with ds1 i sent ex-H off to work he didn't even know I was in labour and was quite happy on my own for several hours, couldn't bear the fussing or the insistence to go to hospital.

Make sure you drink and eat keep your energy and fluids up, and do whatever feels natural. Time the contractions how long each is lasting and how far apart they will ask you that when you call. how far apart are they now?

JimmyChoo17 · 17/07/2011 10:04

I was having them every 5 mins for 40 seconds! Rang hospital who are full!!

But they have slowed to 10 mins to 15 mins, have put on tens...and erm....cleared out. Thank goodness was getting concerned having been regular throughout I didn't want to start backing up now!

It's true not panicked about birth now just want out and this pelvic pressure to be gone!

OP posts:
nicolamumof3 · 17/07/2011 10:21

ooh just keep moving if you want it to keep going. Think i went in when mine were only a couple minutes apart. I've been about 8cm dilated tho each time. Have an irrational fear of hospitals and also being sent home so i leave it and leave it! Got there at 7am ish last time, only thing that slowed down the birth was epidural as the mw said she could see head when i got in!! two pushes he was out, thats after i'd slept for an hour thanks to epidural! I was in a lot of pain tho before so prob not recommended to leave that long lol!

Is tens helping? Be my first time without one this time. Just never got around to it. Dh done ocado order, and im having a break from ironing!!

inbetweener · 17/07/2011 10:29

oooh jimmy things are actually happening !! OMG at hospital being full though !! This is my biggest fear after turning up at my hospital two weeks ago and it being rammed and me waiting over two hours to be seen !! I am so scared I will end up having the baby in the corridor or something !!
Hope all goes well, how exciting. Wish things were happening for me. I echo what nicola said too, just keep moving, keep walking, keep rocking, whatever helps. I was 8cm when I go to hospital with dd2 and she was born 1hr 50 mins later Grin

Sp im 39 + 3 today and soooooooooooo ready. Loads of pressure, loads of period like pains, a pinching feeling in my bum and a complete inability to walk withouut it hurting is making me VERY grumpy. I am def ready to have this baby !
Plus today, my sister has gone on holiday, so have my parents and also some friends so I feel very Sad and also Envy.

DD1 and DD2 think im making it all up I think and there is no baby !!!!!!!!!!

button hope things have gone well for you xx

nicolamumof3 · 17/07/2011 10:37

oh inbetweener i'd feel Sad too how long they away for?

period cramping started again for me too.

Im worried about hospital being full too, its a new start of the art one with all private rooms and they have been overwhelmed with patients all over apparently, which i think is a bit off. Local mums being asked to travel 20/30miles to next hospital!! If i turn up about to give birth nothing they can do tho surely?!

scarthy1975 · 17/07/2011 10:49

Congratulations Scottygirl.

I'm now a week overdue and thought something was happening yesterday - had pains every ten mins or so but stopped as soon as I went to bed and have woken ok this morning Sad can see this going all the way to Friday when i'll be induced!

Good luck Jimmy

cara2244 · 17/07/2011 10:50

Oooh jimmy good luck! Stay at home as long as poss as you're likely to contract better there.

Congratulations Scotty! Enjoy the special early days...it goes so fast!

JimmyChoo17 · 17/07/2011 10:51

I'm so worried it will stop or it's not even real thing. Been trying to kip as had no sleep but they are too painful to sleep thru even with tens and pills!

OP posts:
inbetweener · 17/07/2011 11:01

jimmy you wont get much sleep lol. My MW said that to me with my first along with get in the bath, I did and then was annoyed with myself as I had washed my newly straightened hair and all my makeup off and was in too much pain to do it again so went to the hospital looking like shit pmsl. Me..vain...??

nicola thhey are away for two weeks !!!!!!!!! In fairness it was all booked before I announced at the end of jan so I cant moan. Plus, im not really like that. I know baby number three is only hugely exciting for me and mine lol.
As for the hospital thing, I think you are near me or am I remembering wrongly ? A large south london hospital is where I am hoping to head. I KNOW its going to be full, I just know it as when I originally booked in the MW said they were experiencing a baby boom at present. I think they can turn you away tbh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im petrified this time round !!!

Aghhhhhhh just had to run to the loo and have loads of period type pains, and horrible, horrible pressure but this has been the case for about three days now and nothing else appears to be happening !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

how you doing jimmy ??

nicolamumof3 · 17/07/2011 11:20

yes how you doing jimmy????

Im in west kent inbetweener, oh well might be a home birth in the carpark then for me!!
