DHB medal for Wol and thank feck I can stop worrying about her now. Hooray for baby owls.

Medee · 20/08/2011 17:59

Hurrah for the Owlet!

Truff enjoy the "you" time, it is in short supply later on! Also, everyone said I was having a boy and I ddn't.

owlbooty · 21/08/2011 13:26

hello you lot :) am on phone whilst feeding / snuffling. got home last night - almost didn't as little dude has small heart murmur but is fine and will have precautionary Ctg in 6 weeks or so. He is called Robin and he is doing brilliantly with feeding and I got 6 and a half hours sleep last night which was ace. Maccer I have the biggest pants in the galaxy :)

MadameBoo · 21/08/2011 13:42

Hello Lady on the other side of labour. Good isn't it? :o

I don't do this word often but awwwwwww. Robin. Lovely. And congrats on the big pants to.

MadameBoo · 21/08/2011 13:43

too.

rocketleaf · 21/08/2011 15:05

Congrates newbabyshoes lovely name, Robyn was on our list for Sprout, who incidentally also had a heart murmur (it's gone now although she has a small VSD still). Did they say what's causing it?it's bloody scary when they tell you but it's pretty common and usually nowt to worry about. Fab news on the sleep! Hope it keeps up.

Medee · 21/08/2011 15:21

great name, Owlie. Well done you!

SilverSky · 21/08/2011 19:01

Whoop whoop! I snuck in to see if owl had sneezed et voila! Lovely name!! See you in the CRESH!!! Grin

Orchid12 · 21/08/2011 19:41

Woohoo for Owlet. Glad you're all ok and baby boy is fab!

Muser · 21/08/2011 20:59

Congratulations on the arrival of Owlet, glad you're home and enjoying snuffling.

laurielou · 21/08/2011 21:10

Happy Snuffling Wol Many congratulations, wonderful news!

okiecokie · 21/08/2011 21:19

Well done Owl and welcome to Owlet. A nice healthy size too non? How wonderful and please to be taking it easy over the next few weeks.

Alps sorry to hear about the SPD. Bollocks.

AlpinePony · 22/08/2011 05:47

Congratulations owlet - 'tis ironic you've named him after a bird, non? Wink So very glad that you're both safe. Can't wait to hear your birth story. If it's ridiculously hot in your house right now, I'd recommend a pack of frozen peas (or whatever) wrapped in a tea towel and shoved down the front of your knickers to be kind to your scar. Very easy to feel hot & bothered in this heat + snuffling.

truffs I'd like your weekend with or without hen party attached. Even before pregnancy, at this stage of my life I can no longer be arsed with "all of that" and should I ever be invited along to happy celebrations again (ha!) - I may well employ your method. i.e., hotel + escape route + in bed by midnight with room service. Bish Bosh.

Cheers all for SPD woes. Bit bollocks really but trying not to take it to heart. Can't be doing with all this lying on the sofa "woe is me" shoite, so I'll be dragging myself around on my elbows like the Terminator after he's had his legs blown off.

kat2504 · 22/08/2011 06:40

owlie lovely name! Hope you are both having a lovely time.

alps SPD already? That seems early, what a pain in the arse. Did you have it last time

laurielou · 22/08/2011 07:27

Aw Alps SPD sounds a nightmare, but good to hear it hasn't dampened your sense of humour. Love Terminator image Grin

owlbooty · 22/08/2011 11:17

Alps you are a DDHB and I am now imagining you with the SPD crutches only with machine guns in the end of them to take out anyone who merits it Grin

Tis day 3 in the Owl Household. Woke up this morning to find my norks dripping. Classy, non?

Rocketsocks they weren't sure what the cause was but said it sounded a bit more squeaky than a bog-standard innocent murmur - but that it wasn't something we should stress over right now as he was a healthy baby. I've just got to watch in case he goes blue/struggles to breathe when feeding. Which he doesn't right now so that is okay. Hopefully by the time we go for the scan thingy whatever it was will have cleared up but if not at least it's been picked up now and now when it's actually a major problem. They did say it was really common though; I'm glad Sprout's hasn't turned out to be anything really problematic :)

How the devil are the rest of you lot, anyway?

Ocarina · 22/08/2011 12:09

I'm impressed at this posting lark Owlie, but not as impressed as with your gorgeous wee man. Hope the heart murmur turns out to be nothing - I don't know whether they've got better at picking them up or what because no-one found mine until I was 14! (Not that it's anything to worry about and I could've happily gone through life not knowing).

My plan for yesterday was to chop up a large sheet into small ones for the crib (on the basis that I see no reason to pay goodness knows how many times as much for sheets which happen to be small). Which was a good plan until I realised I didn't know how to thread the sewing machine (I inherited it from my Grandma when her eyesight got too bad to use it, and have barely used it since, and sadly she's no longer around to ask how to do things). A whole load of Youtube videos later it's all sorted and working, but with only one sheet hemmed. So that's now today's job, which means I can put off clearing my study for a bit longer....

Other than that I appear to be a hormonal mess who's driving TH mad and bursting into tears for no good reason. I thought that was supposed to happen after the birth.

macaroonie · 22/08/2011 13:09

I too am hugely impressed with your posting owlie (maybe i'm just a lazy cahh?) Hope the murmur sorts itself out quickly.

It's sooooo fecking hot here, 36°!!! No one told me you sweat milky-smell sweat when you bf in that kind of heat. Nor that you try all kinds of weird bfing positions to reduce body contact for fear of overheating the bairn. urgh.

alps I love the Terminator image. I wouldn't expect anything less from you.

Occa i was a crying/argumentative/generally all-round intolerant cow for the last 2 months of pregnancy. Usual self really.

macaroonie · 22/08/2011 13:10

Ooops! Congratulations again Owlie!

BrownB · 22/08/2011 13:49

Congratulations Owlie!! Welcome to the wee Owlet Robin. Glad to hear that all was well in the end!

As for us here... will have a moan on another post.

AlpinePony · 22/08/2011 14:07

macaroon I hear you. :( It was like that with Bear and when I held him against my chest we'd both blister with the heat. :( "They" say that your body temperature will cool to allow you to heat the baby. Hmm Your tale of IS made me laugh very much! Grin FFS though, they eat a LOT of pork your neck of the woods.

AlpinePony · 22/08/2011 14:08

cool in that area I mean and hold, not heat the baby. Dur.

rocketleaf · 22/08/2011 14:17

owlie so they didn't do scans? They did them the next day with Sprout but it was a bit full on and it all turned out to be nothing to worry about (although at the time when you are told 'hole in the heart' you cack yourself) Obviously I am grateful they were thorough but I think it makes sense to leave it if there are not problems breathing (they told us to watch for the same things as you after the scans anyway) I am sure it will turn out to be nothing serious just like Sprout. Like you say it is common and 99.9% of the time just clears up on its own. I am sure ickleowl will be absolutely fine too!

I have really confused myself as the person who I thought was you on FB turns out to be occers I blame baybee brain!!

Ocarina · 22/08/2011 15:58

I'm glad it's not just me who gets people mixed up on FB - not helped when more than one of us have the same first name. But Owlie's definitely the one looking fab with a small one.

Sheets are hemmed, question is what domesticity can I manage next in a effort to carrying on avoiding doing my tax return?

CurlyCasper · 22/08/2011 16:15

Massive congratulations to booty and owlet! Popped over her after seeing your pic on FB. What a corker of a boy! well done you.
