MrBitey · 18/08/2011 15:59

Have we an owlet yet?

GG we have just tried a dummy for newborns, bitey bach just wants to suck and suck and is soothed by a curled finger. It worked for about twenty minutes Grin On the upside all this sucking has paid off and he has gained a whole lb in a week!

MrBitey · 18/08/2011 15:59

PS Yey for test results ski!

LadyGoneGaga · 18/08/2011 16:53

Fab news on tests, Alps. I liked that it just made me feel like I didn't need to worry for the rest of the pregnancy. Well, about Down's and Edwards at least.

I really hope Wols is having a lovely snuggle right now in her own bed.

Tried the dummy last night. She's not sure about it but did take it for a while and it helped her to settle on her own so seems worth it. Good night last night making up for the bad one the night before. She went down at 9, went through til 2, fed and resettled easily, up again at 5 for a feed then slept til 8. As MiniG managed to sleep through from 8:30 til 5:30 I feel like a new woman!

But she has now been asleep for most of the day despite attemps to wake her. Does not bode well for this evenings sleep.

Great weight gain, Bitey Bach - giving mine a run for her money. Piglet put on another 9oz. Now 11lb 1oz at 3 weeks!!! Just checked MiniG's book and he didn't weigh that much til 7 weeks.

MrBitey · 18/08/2011 19:05

Wow GG she is doing well! I can't stop squeezing poor BBs fat little thighs and multi chins - bloody lush!

Just off to check bum face...

LadyGoneGaga · 18/08/2011 21:43

She definitely has chins. And the start of thigh rolls. She looks a bit scared if I squee too much at them Grin

Where is that Wol?

Medee · 19/08/2011 08:06

No owlet this morning?

PollyCrystalTits · 19/08/2011 09:22

Hope all is well with Booty and Owlet.

BB has gorgeous chunky thighs too, I can't stop squidging them! I'm off to bed again, I'm farking knackered. Hopefully there will be WolNews when I wake.

laurielou · 19/08/2011 10:54

Argh still no Wol news. Anyoe would think she was busy or something Grin

Alps that's great news on the test results. Here, lets crack open these bottles of White Lightening.....

AlpinePony · 19/08/2011 11:17

Why are thigh rolls so adored on little girls, yet if you're over 12 they're disgusting? :( Wink

Oh, quick moan as I'm not going to spend the rest of my pregnancy whining about it - but I've got an SPD diagnosis already. Wtff? Angry Have been referred to physio already which is good - what's really good though is that the town I live in has the best physiotherapy school in all of Christendom which is lucky. No more hoss riding though. Yah boo sucks.

loz ugh, none of that fizzy shite - not unless there's a vodka sinker in it?

PollyCrystalTits · 19/08/2011 11:33

Oh Alps sorry about the SPD, you have my utmost sympathies. Fucking horrible it was and I didn't have it anywhere did as bad Fanny. Good news on the physio though.

Well the sleep didn't pan out. BB shrieked in her sleep just as I was dropping off. Then the builders started reversing JCBs about, the postman knocked the door and the helicopters from Yeovilton decided to do a fly past. Bastards. BB didn't sleep much either and is now screamy tired. Fun fun fun. Oh well, here is hoping to a longer nap this avo.

MadameBoo · 19/08/2011 12:53
rocketleaf · 19/08/2011 14:33

Thats shite about the SPD pone sympathies :(

still no news on the wol front? < frets >

macaroonie · 19/08/2011 14:47

Yey to chubby babies - CheeriO is now a hefty 4k (8.8lbs) at 3 weeks.
Excellent test results alps

Ocarina · 19/08/2011 17:03

Yay to test results alps, boo to SPD. Did you have it with Bear for it to have kicked in so soon this time?

I've just waved my Mum off after a few days of having her around doing lots of useful things like cleaning the oven and kitchen, and windows, and lots of other bits of the house.... Don't think it's been so clean since we moved in (just don't look in my study). We have done some fun stuff too, but mostly we've been getting practical things done (I say we, but my contributions have been relatively minor). Next time I see her it should be with baby to show off - eeek.

Saw the midwife earlier in the week and we're still head down and 3/5 engaged. She now won't see me again till I'm term+3 (despite consultant saying she should see me every 7-10 days - I couldn't be bothered with an argument seeing as all seems well) at which point I have to decide whether to have a sweep. I gather that with number 1 a sweep's impossible unless your cervix has started to open anyway, so I'm tempted to think that if that's started I'm happy to leave it another week before they start prodding around up there, and see what happens. Be interested in your thoughts though.

PollyCrystalTits · 20/08/2011 01:26

Just in from work. STILL no Booty news?

LadyGoneGaga · 20/08/2011 09:14

Heard from Wol. GrinGrinGrin Owlet arrived via sunroof after 36 hours of labour and having got stuck. He is 8lb 13oz. She now loves epidurals, diamorphine and consultant anaesthetists. She doesn't care it wasn't the birth she had planned - he is beautiful and feeding well and was fine throughout the labour.

Congratulations and welcome to the world! Sniff...

AlpinePony · 20/08/2011 09:20

Hahahaha fab news about healthy owlet and a blessed out mum flirting with the doctor to get more morphine! Congrats owlie!

Ocarina · 20/08/2011 09:45

Hooray! Congratulations to the whole Owl family.

rocketleaf · 20/08/2011 10:11

Hoorah for owlet!!!! And hoorah for drugs and anesthetists and not giving a fecking feck how the baybee arrives as long as they do. :o Congrates to the Parliament of Owl.

occers sounds like you are all sorted apart from the baybee. Personally I would be inclined to wait for longer than +3 before having a rummage but I must admit I never had to consider it that closely as Sprout was early. I'd say play it by ear, you might be well fed up with being diffed by then or you might be happy to wait.

kat2504 · 20/08/2011 10:42

Congrats booty and Owlfamily. So pleased for you and can't wait to find out Owlets new name and see some cute pictures.

Truffkin · 20/08/2011 10:57

Welcome to the world little Owlet - hope there is some quality snuffling going on chez Wol now. There have been 2 new babies in my life this week, a good friend had a baby boy on Monday and TGB's cousin had her son on Tuesday. This plays to my Mom's desperation for us to produce a girl. At present the consensus based on 'bump shape' is that we're having a boy as I am very 'out front' and not much else. I have it on good authority (i.e. my SiL who has both children and whose weight gain was pretty much identical each time) that this theory holds no weight whatsoever.

I'm off up to Brum this afternoon for a hen night. Is it odd that I have shunned the idea of kipping at a friend's house and have instead booked myself into a nice city centre hotel? I plan to pick up a dress I've reserved when I arrive, then get my nails done and then spend some time in my room reading before getting ready to go out. I can also decide when to go 'home' and not worry about other people not being ready to leave. Plus I get a cooked brekkie, wander round the Bullring and am but minutes from the station to get on the train home again tomorrow. I'm quite looking forward to some 'me' time.

TGB is making me a bacon sarnie so am off to snaffle that before helping him to do some tidying. He has the boys coming to visit for the weekend (I will miss drunken snoring - bliss) making the most of us being in the Capital whilst they can. I love a lazy(ish) Saturday morning.

Ocarina · 20/08/2011 11:03

Truffs that sounds like a fab way to spend a hen night to me. If that also makes me a miserable loner, then being a miserable loner is the way forward!

InTheSunshine · 20/08/2011 11:13

Hurrah for Wol Grin

rocketleaf · 20/08/2011 12:13

Truffs that makes perfect sense to me. It means you can bail when the others get annoyingly drunk, get a good nights kip and have some precious pre baby alone time. (it will be in short supply post laying and you probably won't want it for a while anyway)

macaroonie · 20/08/2011 13:08

yey for the owlet! And it really doesn't matter how they come out but that they are healthy and gorgeous. gaga if you are in touch with owlie pliz to advise big pants, lots of rest and fluffy pillows and, most importantly, a slave to help getting in and out of bed - practically impossible for the first week.

Truffs i am very envious of your afternoon - sounds great!

Alps sorry to hear about the spd... hopefully the early diagnosis means it won't get too bad...
