BarbiesBeaver · 11/08/2011 09:17

Wol in speed reading I thought you said "MIL is having a rummage later". Hope it does the trick - pant snot sounds like progress!

AlpinePony · 11/08/2011 09:21

owly Sounds to me like things are starting to move! Are you feeling the urge to scrub, clean & tidy? If yes, could you please explain to me what it feels like? Wink

Well done barbie - excellent news! Did you want to know the sex? If yes, will you be getting another scan done to determine it?

boo If you like you can put both legs in one leg and we shall move like a hopping-three-legged-race-gone-wrong caterpiller.

CurlyCasper · 11/08/2011 09:45

Go wol! Face licks all round

MadameBoo · 11/08/2011 10:30

I just cried with laughter at 'MIL having a rummage' BB :o

I reckon the shock of that happening might start things off though...

Ocarina · 11/08/2011 12:04

I scraped my car along the side of a trolley shelter at the supermarket pretty early in this pregnancy, so it's not just a second time differ thing Blush. I am however very glad that alps is OK, and that Boxy isn't allowed near anything crashable at work when diffed!

I've decided pregnancy is now just tiring - few hours in the shopping centre yesterday (including having my eyes tested so it's not like it was a marathon shopping session - I hate shopping) and I was good for nothing. I really should get into this nesting thing and tidy the house, but it's not working like that round here because I am a lazy slattern....

Hope you actually get to see a midwife Owlie, and that things really are moving along.

Muser · 11/08/2011 13:41
owlbooty · 11/08/2011 15:10

Well I am back and thoroughly rummaged - again, not painful but she made a damn good effort to get things moving and is on call tomorrow night so I am hoping he will show up then. He has moved down another notch so that is positive. I have worked out my bishop's score and it is 7 which is also splendid. And no, that is not how many bishops I can fit up my foof.

Phew. Feel a bit shaky and sicky now.

Occers well done on also joining the DrivingDiffedFail club Grin I am now wondering what Boxy does for a living and hoping that it is driving a MegaTruck somewhere cool. That would be ace. These last few months are fucking knackering; I feel so pathetic when I do 5 mins gardening and have to sit down on a bloody bench but that's as good as it gets.

I have baked an orange tea loaf today. I still think Mr Boots has done way more nesting than I have - he tends to do most of the cleaning as I too am a total slattern.

BarbiesBeaver · 11/08/2011 15:35

Ooh hope things get moving Wol .

Occers the point of maternity leave was to cook delicious meals for freezing and to rest surely? Get your feet up for a bit.

We did want to know the sex Pone but won't be having another scan to find out. I quite like the idea of MrBeaver announcing it at the birth anyway. The sonographer guessed girl, but you honestly couldn't see anything as the legs were pressed together.

macaroonie · 11/08/2011 16:42

Yahoo for scannerage BB! Really pleased for you!

Owlz mucus + rummage = baybee. Failsafe formula. thinking of you

PollyCrystalTits · 11/08/2011 18:00

Just popping in to say Go Wol! I really hope Owlet gets a move on soon. I well remember the boredom and frustration of being over due (12 days with Boo and 13 with BB - I thought second ones were supposed to come earlier?).

Oh yes... I also had diffed prangs. The first one was when I reversed our lovely new audi against a metal water trough outside our romantic little holiday barn in Cornwall - TG was Not Impressed. Especially as i scraped the door, stopped and thought 'What was that noise?', decided it was nothing and continued to scrape half the wing too. Blush Second diffing I drove into some parking bollards when I incorrectly calculated length of car. And I ran a badger over. Sad And I scraped the bumper ... OK, I'm just going to stop now, it is embarrassing.

LadyGoneGaga · 11/08/2011 18:27

Like Macca in somewhat of a new Mother blur. Lurking but not keeping up with posting.

Well done to BB and Alps on luffly scans.

I also drove into a car when diffed. And crashed moving van. But this was first pregnancy.

Good luck to Wol. Have a feeling she will lay ce soir. If you can hold off til tomorrow he can be ESH twinz with me!

Piglet put on nearly a pound last week! She is now 10lb6oz. |How am I not sylphlike?

MadameBoo · 11/08/2011 18:49

I am so excited for Owly

laurielou · 11/08/2011 21:00

BB excellent scan news - lovely.

Wol YEY for pant snot. Owlet is surely on the way vay soon. Good luck.

Sorry to be brief, off to the loo again. In a word - cystitus. Great!

kat2504 · 12/08/2011 08:55

Good luck owl am very looking forward to seeing pics of the real live Owlet and hoping the lay happens very soon!

AlpinePony · 12/08/2011 09:15

MOG! This is very funny with all these prangs. I seem to remember in the other pregnancy that there was a period where I had absolutely no depth perception when it came to the car - and then a period of very aggressive driving - combined with a "well, if I hit your bumper reversing in to this space I just don't care". Shock

I bet owly's laying a baybee.

Kat Have a wonderful super holibobs - are you going to Provence (mais naturellement)?

owlbooty · 12/08/2011 09:25

Yoick!

AlpinePony · 12/08/2011 09:40

owly When are you seeing the rummager again?

MadameBoo · 12/08/2011 09:41
Truffkin · 12/08/2011 10:11

Happy birthday GeeGee hope you are being thoroughly spolied by your brood. Am also sending sneeze vibes so that you have an ESH baybee birthday share!

I'm at the hospital, having just been stabbed snd then force fed (well, practically) the most hideous sugar solution imaginable. Yes it's the delightful GTT experience! I've had the same nurse take blood twice now and she's really rough. It seems to be taking ages for any bruises to heal at the moment and with a massive one on my knee where I slipped in the shower 3 weeks ago (!) and inevitable armsful after today, people might be giving TGB suspicious looks!

Oh well, only 45 minutes to go before my next pricking encounter, then another wander round the hospital. On the plus side, there is a patient who has come outside for a fag who is chatting her head off (to herself) bitching about people who walk past, so I am entertained for now! Also I think the sugar has sent the baby into spasms, having a right old wriggle around.

Sorry for whingeing. I know there are worse things. Think I'm just really hoping that ecerything is fine so I stay 'low risk' and can use the lovely birth centre instead of Victorian style ancient labour ward.

Medee · 12/08/2011 10:13

Hope it won't be long, owlie.

Truffkin · 12/08/2011 10:16

Many cross posts ( serves me right for taking 100 years to post on my phone)

Soz Wol am hopeful the eyelid swelling is a sign! Have this curried pineapple ice cream just to be sure though.

I am yet to do anything to my car, not that I drive much. But have it booked in to have some scratched repaired where it was keyed a while ago. I'm wondering whether I will invoke the law of sod and prang it as I drive it out of the workshop, all shiny and like new.

P.S Rie if you are lurking, I've just booked a mini-break to Cornwall for the last week in August. Are you far from the St. Moritz hotel? Just wondering.

owlbooty · 12/08/2011 10:18

Boo I've got a crochet hook in the home birth kit they left behind Grin I had a quick look through the equipment and most of it made me feel a bit sicky so I put it all back in the box and am now pretending that it is not there.

Saw her yesterday, Pone so suspect that's my lot in terms of rummaging for the time being - she's popping round tomorrow to check up on me assuming I don't lay tonight.

Lozza forgot to say ouch and hope it goes away soon, tis evil and horrid.

Truffs fingers are fully crossed for a good result - that sugar stuff is legendarily horrible so I am impressed you managed to keep it down given your barfing track record!

MadameBoo · 12/08/2011 10:19

OMG!!11!1!1 Truffles I am in Cornwall the last weekend in August!!!111!!111 In a tent.

AlpinePony · 12/08/2011 10:33

boo You can always scrawl "St. Moritz" down the side in lippy! Wink

Truffkin · 12/08/2011 10:56

Boots I did do a few little heaves but overcame them with (very) deep breathing. I'd have been mortified to vom in the clinic as it's relatively open plan Blush

Boo we're there from Tuesday to Thursday with a stop over in Bath on the way so if we cross over, we muuuuust meet up. We decided to splash out while we can and before we need to start child friendly breaks! Have booked the 'parents to be' package so nice dinners and spa treatments - can't wait!
