What a day! ESHTWINZZZ ARE GO! Bitey might be snuffling as we speak, squeeeeeee! Good luck and biggest luffs, laying laydeez xxxx

To take your minds off the pacing, a quick overview of the ILs visit: turned up late (they were 20 mins away) & the second they entered the flat, they were slagging it off as 'poky', 'odd' and so on ( it is a lovely light, airy flat and I have v good decor taste, boast boast). Then they wanted some pics of him - you can see on FB soon how stiff and weird they were with him, barking 'smile' at him, etc. They were really rude to me and treated me like I'm thick, ie when T was gurgling, I said 'do you want to chat too?' to him and MIL said in withering tones, 'you do realise he can't actually talk, don't you? He has no comprehension of what's going on, silly girl'. Trying to explain how I was just being cute with my cute baby just got me a patronising head shake. They kept talking about people and things we don't know about and managed to insult and belittle my family despite never having met any of them. If I protested or put them straight, they just scoffed and sneered like I was deluded or being over-sensitive. FIL had to be forced to touch T ( by TYF - I couldn't care less if the cunt never lays a finger on him). He held him for literally 10 seconds then moved him in such a way that made his head flop violently forward, making me think 'waaaaaah, shaken baby syndrome!' and he just shoved the baby back at TYF, saying disgustedly that he couldn't be doing with 'it' if 'it' couldn't even hold 'it's' head up. I snapped that my baby is not an it and he scoffed and said he was more of a blob and he'd be interested in him once he could talk. I pointed out that if he treats him like that until he can speak then he's not going to want to have anything to do with him and I won't want him to either. He just muttered about me being silly. I was ready to erupt then so basically forced them out as it was T's bedtime anyway.

The saddest thing is, TYF thinks it was a lovely visit and can't see how rude they were, saying that's just what they're like and not to take offense. FFS! Also, he's always really annoying for a few days after seeing his folks, as some of their callousness rubs off on him, ie me having to tell him to look and talk at T when changing his nappy (he does normally) as his folks think it's amusingly pathetic if people are tender and put any emotional effort into things. Also sneering at me if I can't think of the word for something, that kind of thing, just like them. He's never normally like that.

The sad thing is, I just cried my heart out after they went to bed ( I was expressing) because I truly hate them and can't bear the thought of them being part of T's life forever. You can't wrap your kids up in cotton wool, but it's just awful that I am expected to encourage him to love these toxic, negative freaks. The Skank and Husband of The Skank Grin Perfect name!

owlbooty · 28/07/2011 10:44

Fucking hell, Scorps they are outrageous. I cannot believe what complete arseholes they are being. Skank is a polite word for it. Fuckfaces would be more appropriate. Grrrrrr!

rocket no, it was 131/78 this morning. Am seeing CMW later today. Feel shit and depressed about all of it though. :( Wish the Owlet would just get on with it and come out then I can stop stressing about it and start dealing with poo and vomit instead.

MadameBoo · 28/07/2011 11:09

Scorps D'you think your ILs have autistic tendencies? I feel sad that TYF thought it was a good visit, what sort of childhood did that boy have? Thank feck he has you and T

rocketleaf · 28/07/2011 11:21

Oh score you poor thing!! They are truly awful people. I actually gasped with shock at the things FIL said. I suspect boo might be right, they do sounds like they are on the spectrum. I hope TYF snaps out of his alieness very very soon. I am sure the love you and MrT give him will bring him back to normal.

chin up booty my lovely. owelet knows what he is doing, you just can't rush it. Just focus on the fact your BP is all good. Put your feet up and eat something naughty, enjoy having some peace and quiet as it'll be in short supply for the next 18 years! ;-)

MadameBoo · 28/07/2011 11:23
Scorpette · 28/07/2011 11:29

I have long suspected that MIL has Lady Asperger's but I think FIL is just a straightforward arsehole (his mother is an awful woman). TYF has Social Phobia and his older brother is almost as bad. Younger bro was in nursery at an early age and is much more outgoing and expressive. I think that speaks volumes about their upbringing Sad Angry

Owly, that is indeed rubbish, no wonder you're so fed up. But just keep reminding yourself that your snuffling is nigh!

I ain't going to dwell on the Fuckfaces no more - not when we have Milano and Bitey to pace for Grin

Btw, is anyone else watching One Born Every Minute USA on More4 every Thursday night? Is not as good as UK version, but I'm still hooked!

Ariesgirl · 28/07/2011 11:39

COME ON BITEYBACH

CurlyCasper · 28/07/2011 12:49

Just wanted to record that I am thinking of bitey and macca. Bring on the new baybeeeeeeees!

And scorps, I really want to slap them for you. Miserable skanks.

CurlyCasper · 28/07/2011 14:03

I think macca baby has landed

Hope the sunroof job went ok and she can come and tell us all about it soon. Grin

AlpinePony · 28/07/2011 14:17

Oooh! Just seen! Well done maccaroon!

rocketleaf · 28/07/2011 14:19

Whoop whoop!!! Welcome babymacaroon

rocketleaf · 28/07/2011 14:23

Paving? PAVING? Does bitey need a new patio? Pffft.

owlbooty · 28/07/2011 14:34

oooh how v.v.exciting!

Hoorah for the MiniMacaroon ! Hope all is well and there is mucho snuffling and not too mucho italiano mama-related stressing. Grin

Where the eff is Bites ? Hopefully also snuffling.

BrownB · 28/07/2011 14:38

I turn my back for a day or so, and the laying commences. Blimey o'reily! Well done Macca! Am also hopeful that BiteyBach and Bitey are snuffling as I type.

Am in a Starbucks outside the court, and am desperately nervous. But holding up better than I'd feared. There have been scheduling issues at the court and the second day of the hearing has been bumped from tomorrow to Monday. Thank you all for the distractions earlier on - I especially liked the "getting the wetsuit on dance" performed by BB earlier!

Did I say congrats to you yet GG? If not am very sorry and I am of course heartily happy for you and am still grinning (when not fretting about what's happening in the courtroom).

MadameBoo · 28/07/2011 14:45

Right. I was tempted to turn a cartwheel for Biteme but my instincts tell me it's too early. That said, we all know how reliable my 'woo' is. :o

rocketleaf · 28/07/2011 15:06

Hugs to you brownie (not the ESH thing but you need em) keep us updated.

Ocarina · 28/07/2011 16:02

Brownie I'm so sad you're having to go through all this. Hoping lots for a good resolution, and that it doesn't get dragged out any more - not what you needed hanging over your weekend I imagine.

I spoke to the lovely student midwife earlier, and rather than me go back in to see them they've made me a clinic appointment at the hospital where they'll check me over and scan if they think the baby is breech. I'll be 37+4 at that point, which is a definite improvement on seeing my own midwife at 38+4 and then needing to be referred. Why they couldn't just do that in the first place I have no idea - surely booking that kind of appointment and then trying to turn the baby is more sensible (and cheaper!) than leaving it too late and having to do a cs whatever. Suspect I'll still spend the next 10 days or so worrying and prodding to see if I can work out which way up s/he is.

Has anyone tried any of the positions that are supposed to help them turn? Do they work? I'm caught between being willing to try anything and feeling like saying sod it, there's nothing I can do to change things. (Not having the most positive of days - have already been reduced to tears by a colleague (fortunately over email) over something of nothing. Stupid hormones.)

MadameBoo · 28/07/2011 23:57

Well, you never know...

AlpinePony · 29/07/2011 08:41

Ocarina Well Bear WENT breech when I spent a day scrubbing the carpet when little dog had the shits. :( He went back down about a week later I think of his own accord - did it in my sleep, it didn't wake me up but I remember feeling pain my my sleep. I know some people swear by the spinning babies stuff but there seems there's sometimes a reason why they're breech. E.g., curly and I have a friend whom upon cat-flap excavation they discovered a 4lb fibroid (Shock) - there was simply no room for the baby to turn! It can also happen if you've got a bicornate uterus. I've also read stories of some who managed to get them head down, then they go bum down again - just because that's the way they want to. This is just the start of them fucking you over y'see! Wink I do remember that cheggers spent her early maternity leave face down in the bath wearing a snorkel. But I don't know if it actually worked or not, I've a feeling it didn't.

brownie I hope you're doing OK.x Have you got anything nice planned for this weekend to take your mind off things?

I hope bitey's getting that snuggling in.

BarbiesBeaver · 29/07/2011 08:58

Occers well done for getting an earlier appointment. I think that you've nothing to lose by trying the stuff on Spinning Babies, so give it a try. I'm sorry your colleagues are upsetting you - not long till you can forget about work for a bit so just hang in there.

Brownie BAH to the hearing being dragged out, but it sounds as if you are coping well. I can pop my fins and wetsuit hood on as well if it helps?

YAY for MiniMacca and hoping for good news for Biter soon.

I have a whole weekend off from DIY this weekend. I may wee my pants with excitement.

owlbooty · 29/07/2011 09:13

Occers lovely, they may well be wrong about the baybee being breech - even now my MW says it's really hard to tell which way round/up the little dude is. Not sure how much use the positioning stuff is, sorry. Pliz accept this unESHly hug for your miserableness. And nice one on getting the earlier check up; it could make all the difference if MiniOccers actually is the wrong way up.

I might start an equivalent of the BESHpit and go and sit in it. This really has been the shittest week evah. MW came round last night and I was so agitated the fucking bp reading was silly again, and the beta-blockers are doing nothing. People keep talking about admitting me - and keeping me in there until the baybee arrives or 40 weeks comes then induction. I have told them to shove it. I am fucking depressed and not going back on that fucking ward again. And slightly fed up with people telling me STORIES OF DOOM AND DEATH entirely designed to make me fall into line and Do What I Am Told and not actually based on the statistics.

I am now starting to see why people freebirth, not that I would ever really consider anything that mental as I am too much of a wuss.

Pone - Ew. I found myself doing something similar with cat vom a while back. Really not what you want when updiffed, is it? I almost added to the heap.

AlpinePony · 29/07/2011 09:23

Shoppers - IO is have a major sale right now - I've just got a wrap top, a wrap dress and another top for just 103 euros!

owl I don't want to scare you - but it took at least 6 months post-partum for me to realise just exactly how ill I was. When I was admitted to hospital I felt "fine" - I was upset because I was f.i.n.e! No visual disturbances, no headaches. I had fat ankles but hey - I was 36 weeks and it was 36 degrees! I was given a growth scan the next day and it showed that Bear was actually decreasing in size and that my placenta was shutting down and killing him. I still felt fine. :( I'll agree though, beta-blockers are just fucking awful - they left me off my face and 2 stone heavier. Angry

owlbooty · 29/07/2011 09:52

No fat ankles, no anything, baybee is fine in there and placenta is looking peachy, according to measurements and dopplers and traces. I'm guessing you had protein in urine though Pone ?

The betablockers just don't do anything for me; I might as well be eating sugar pills. Mmm, sugar pills.

MadameBoo · 29/07/2011 10:18

Come on BiteyandBiteybach

rocketleaf · 29/07/2011 10:38

What is IO? pone

booty I am glad every other indicator is fine. It must just be White coat syndrome eh? The problem is that people threatening you with hospital is only going to make things worse! Nothing more helpful to add except am thinking of you

Where the feckking feckk is biteme?
