Exciting!

LadyGoneGaga · 25/07/2011 01:03

Iris Mary born at 10.55 pm, 9lb 8oz. Feeding like a trooper. Managed on gas and air. She was hard to push out as had her elbow up by her face. Small second degree tear, stitched and ok I think. She has full head of hair and is very beautiful. Full story laters.

Muser · 25/07/2011 01:25

Yaaaaaaaaay! Welcome to the world Iris and well done LadyG. Awww, new baby snuggles are the best.

rollerbaby · 25/07/2011 06:53

Woooooooo!!! SmileSmileSmile well done GeeGee!!!!

MrBitey · 25/07/2011 07:19

Well done gaga! she sounds beautiful and that is such a lovely name, good morning Iris Mary!

AlpinePony · 25/07/2011 08:33

Congratulations LadyG and what a super name and might I say? feckin' 'uge! ShockGrin!

laurielou · 25/07/2011 08:39

Yey! Well done LadyG, what a beautiful name. Quite a size too, blardy well done on the G&A only. Ah, I luffs this part of the Deli so much....... Congratulations again, x

Big ARRRGGHHH's all round for rubbish IL's & parents. I sometimes think Mr Loz's mum is nuts, but she is just a novice compared to some of the tales here. And she adores BugBoy (apart from when he cries or smells, & she almost threw him back to me).

Right, who's next on the cluster lay?

rocketleaf · 25/07/2011 09:01

Congratulations lady and well done on only G&A under those circumstances. . Gorgeous name for a gorgeous girl!! Ow, think the sun just got in my eye

Scorpette · 25/07/2011 09:02

Oh, am teary with joy for you, MamaGG! I adore her name and can't wait for more details and FB pics when you have time, my lovely :) You truly are a DHB - worra whopper on only G&A Shock

And of course she's beautiful; you're her mum, after all xx WELL DONE and I hope you're bearing up well.

This good news will keep me going through the IL's visit. TYF actually criticised them for being thoughtless; Mr T is now and forever his no. 1 concern. Their bond is beautiful to behold.

CurlyCasper · 25/07/2011 09:10

well done gaga! and welcome not so little Iris! Looking forward to seeing pics and welcoming you to the spa. Grin

Medee · 25/07/2011 09:41

woohoo, wonderful news, LadyGG. A lovely name and a great weight, and well done you!

okiecokie · 25/07/2011 09:48

MadameBoo · 25/07/2011 10:47

Lady SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE! I did my cart wheel for your final push too

Gorgeous name, well done you, Hooray hooray Hooray!

Backinthebox · 25/07/2011 11:40

Congrats, LGG - sounds like a fabulous due-date lay.

Ocarina · 25/07/2011 12:20

Huge congratulations GG, gorgeous name, can't wait to see pics. How does MiniG like his baby sister?

And very belated congratulations on the arrival of the Foxcub. Hope all is going well there too.

Cocky, tis wonderful to see you here Grin.

Apologies for absence of what feels like months, but is probably only one month. I seem to have been away for most of that time - mostly work stuff, but good work stuff. Still glad to be home and staying here for the foreseeable future though (unlike TH who is probably heading for the US with work next week. He had promised not to go away in August, but the customer is being a pain and it's important that he goes, so I'm resigned to the trip being next week. Any time after that and I'm hiding his passport).

Anyway, in my absence I appear to have acquired a huge bump, complete with beautiful stretchmarks.... I keep catching sight of myself in mirrors and being surprised by what I see. Spent the weekend trying to sort out what will be the nursery, so have rehomed a load of stuff elsewhere in the house and am now waiting for TH to shift the spare furniture into the garage. Speaking of furniture, MIL appears determined to buy us a cot, which is lovely apart from the fact that we already have one..... She has been told this on many occasions but is still going on and on about ones she has seen in John Lewis. I mean, I'm pleased she wants to buy something, but it would really help if it was something we actually need .

Anyway, having caught up with you lot I probably ought to get on with doing some work, seeing as I'm not actually on mat leave for another 2 weeks....

Ocarina · 25/07/2011 12:29

Ooops, forgot to say welcome back to Honeymoo.

rocketleaf · 25/07/2011 13:03

Welcome back occers can you steer MIL in the direction of something you actually need with some heavy hint dropping?

Soooo, biteme you're up next then? :o

FannyPriceless · 25/07/2011 13:14

Massive congrats LadyG! Enjoy your lovely girl snuggles.

owlbooty · 25/07/2011 13:54

Hoorah for microg! Hope you are enjoying much snuffling. I have been admitted for high bp and am currently stuck on ward wearing fetching anti embolism socks. it is shit. I suspect I too have just kissed my homebirth farewell.

MrBitey · 25/07/2011 13:57

Sorry rocket I can't hear you due to the depth I have buriedmy head in the sand!

FannyPriceless · 25/07/2011 14:04

owl Soz about bp. Hope you are OK. I had to wear those hideous stockings for months. You would think they wouldn't be so cruel in the summer.

brownie A little bird pony tells me that we may have something in common. Where are you from? PM me if you like.

AlpinePony · 25/07/2011 14:08

owly I too was set for a hb and ended up in hospital for PE. Everything will be OK. :) Just say yes to drugs etc. Wink It wasn't what I'd planned but when I came out the other side I realised that I wouldn't have changed a thing and I think people who refuse "intervention" are quite bonkers and putting their baybees at risk. Try if you can to get your head around the fact that you may well end up with a c-section because inductions for high BP frequently fail. But a c-section is all fine too - see lozenge for further details.

Ocarina · 25/07/2011 14:45

Arse to the high bp Owlie. Have they said what the likely course of action will be? - do they give you a chance for the bp to come down? I guess it's good that you're in the hossie so they can keep an eye on things and act quickly if needed, but I suspect that's not a whole lot of consolation. Alps is right about the end result being the important bit, but that doesn't mean it doesn't suck when things aren't looking like they'll work out how you planned.

Rocket I've tried to persuade TH to give his mum a list of the things we'll be buying anyway and tell her we'd be delighted if she wanted to pay for one of them. I suspect the problem will be she wants to choose things, and I'm not up for having larger items chosen for us - they've got to be what works for us, not what anyone else thinks might.... Hey ho, there are a whole lot of worse problems we could have.
