Good luck Leilandri . MrsV does your DD have a baby doll? I can recommend baby born/annabel - they have lots of equipment so she can look after her baby while you look after yours :o

JenniferYellowHatsRedLingerie · 08/08/2011 08:27

here's MrsV's postnatal thread
lovely name for your new DD btw :)
Good luck Leilandri!
And the wait continues here... Come on baby!

MrsVidic · 08/08/2011 10:01

Can I just add to all those worrying about labour etc that it really helps if you visualise what's happening- so each contraction is one less as you have moved baby down, opened up a bit more. This really helped my labour.

Oh and being heavily preg is far harder than having a newborn! Sending labour vibes!

Annie456 · 08/08/2011 10:23

Thanks Mrs V and glad you had such a positive experience!

I had BH every 20 mins yesterday but seem to have cleared up over night :o( though I did raise an eyebrow when I saw that my practically-deserted cat was sleeping on the landing outside my bedroom! He's not slept indoors for months but was guarding me all night! Maybe he knows how long I have left but has no way of telling me!

Impatient!!!!

KLou111 · 08/08/2011 11:18

neverlookback · 08/08/2011 12:38

ts getting so exciting now, thinking of you ladies have your cs today x
mrsv are they still just observing your dd or has she had to have antibiotics, im really worried about this whole strep b thing!
Im really really emotional and pretty down at the moment, dp has been working from 5.30am till 8pm every day last week and sat till 7.30pm and till 4pm yesterday, and it was his birthday yesterday, we were supposed to be going out on sat night but it was too late when he came home to sort and he is so tired, but i am too doing all the kids stuff an housework, I just want someone to look after me and give me a big hug, we ended up really quite falling out last night and i was so upset, hysterical infact i know its my hormones and i even explain that to him but he still doesnt realise i just need him to hold me and tell me something nice and be lovely to me, he just doesnt do emotion or soppy stuff (apart from with the kids) men eh!!!
sorry to moan, it will pass wish id just go into labour but i will prob be overdue as i have been twice before!

Good luck to everyone with signs of it happening xxxx

MrsVidic · 08/08/2011 13:28

Never - they r giving her anti biotics and observing every 4 hours. They took blood and are seeing if any cultures grow in it. Now I would speak to the neo natal dept to find out their proceedures for your hospital as my midwife was wrong about ours. I'm at Leighton btw and it's brilliant- clean, friendly and well staffed !

KLou111 · 08/08/2011 13:48

Feeling very pleased with myself. Just won a new red/black Baby Bjorn Active carrier for £42 on ebay (cheapest I've found £69.99, amazon), yet one I was watching with 4 hours to go is at £68!!! Don't get some ebayers!! If you're willing to pay that, just buy it from bloody amazon, muppets!!

Hope you're all OK today, any niggles anyone???

OP posts:
neverlookback · 08/08/2011 15:56

that is a bargain Klou111 i know what you mean with ebayers think they get carried away or maybe dont research the prices? good for when your selling though!
mrsv im at mw on Thurs so hoping to get a bit more info and may speak to hospital again, your poor little dd having to have the antibiotics but i suppose you have to make sure she has not picked it up, when i rang the hos they said that if i did not get the AB in time then they would just monitor baby for 24 hours with the poss of having to give them if any symptoms, really feel for you having to stay in, my dd was heart broken when i was in hos with ds, was really hoping for a quick turnaround this time so that they didnt have to visit at all but i think that may of gone out of the window! Hope your out tomorrow and can get your new little family back together x

bettyboo83 · 08/08/2011 17:53

Not a niggle in sight KLou! Had a pinky show this morning though so I guess that's something...

littlemisslozza · 08/08/2011 19:27

Quick check in from hospital. Had a gorgeous baby boy at 10.02am by elcs weighing 7lb4oz.

KLou111 · 08/08/2011 19:57

Congrats littlemiss, Mrs vidic, impatient, firwala, alliwant and anyone I have missed.
Lots of new arrivals.
I am ten days overdue now. Getting texts all the time from people which is driving me mad though I know they mean well.

Still my mum and sister took kids to a farm today so I had peace and quiet. Actually got to.read a book! 'the accidental' not sure what I think of it but have not sat reading in the afternoon for years so was lovely

MrsStevo · 08/08/2011 20:28

Wooohooooooo!! Well done littlemisslozza - HUGE congratulations to you!! Hope you are recovering well and have had lots of snuggles with him.

Not sure if you will get this in time, but for all you others going in for a CS or who have to have an EMCS, can I recommend that you take 'Windeze' with you or get them to give you 'Mintek' ASAP after the procedure. The pain I experienced from the trapped wind after my CS is like nothing else I have ever known (including broken bones and a miscarriage) but as soon as they gave me mintek (and some kind of super-strong painkiller) I was fine.

I am still in a bit of a daze about all this baby-arrival stuff. I can't believe we are all finally having our babies after what feels like years of writing on this thread. SO happy for us all. We are clever ladies!

Yukana · 08/08/2011 23:09

Me and DP are fine, think he just needed some space.

My little girl Freyja Ciel arrived on the 6th of August at exactly 21:00. Had an 8 hour spontaneous labour from waters breaking to birth, with my bundle weighing 10.05lbs. No pain relief other than gas and air, had an episiotomy too.

Best of luck to everyone, thank you for the kind words. Will be back to update fully and check up on the thread!

Firawla · 08/08/2011 23:27

congrats yukana and little miss lozza!!

MrsStevo · 09/08/2011 00:04

Congrats yukana and WELL DONE! Think you win the biggest-baby-so-far competition! And without pain relief too - you are some kind of superstar!

Teladi · 09/08/2011 07:29

I am loving this, it's like we're getting a baby every day!

Congrats Yukana and littlemisslozza!

18 days til my due date...!

Leilandri · 09/08/2011 14:08

Congrats yukana and littlemisslozza

My little bundle Leo Mostyn arrived by ELCS on monday 8th, at 10.22 am, weighing a tiny 7lbs 130z (his brother was 9.5 so we were expecting another whopper!)

Already at home having spent a very quick 28 hours in hospital, from booking in to discharge. What can I say - I don't like hospitals! Grin

My DS has been brilliant with his little brother, and even wore his wedding 3piece suit in to meet him as he was meeting someone "very important"!!!

Hope all is well with everyone, best of luck to all xx

JenniferYellowHatsRedLingerie · 09/08/2011 15:48

OMG Yukana you must be some kind of superhero! Well done :) such a pretty name too xx
Congrats Leilandri another lovely name, oh how I laughed at your DS wearing his suit! Let's hope he still feels like that in a couple of years!
8 days to due date... I think we should make a rule that there's no queue jumping allowed now, all these babies need to come on their due dates. Deal? Grin

JenniferYellowHatsRedLingerie · 09/08/2011 15:50

Oh, sorry littlemiss congrats to you too! Have you got a name yet?
