LOL at best knickers KLou Grin you'll be the talk of the labour suite if you have to rush in!
Still nothing happening here. I had reflexology on Wednesday as I got a voucher for my birthday and though it might help with my ever-increasing swollen trotters Hmm I had to sign a disclaimer saying that I wouldn't sue if it brought on labour but I was begging her to do anything that might! Alas, nothing ...
Sounds exciting MrsV, sending showy contractiony vibes your way Smile

littlemissw · 05/08/2011 14:19

Lol Klou!

Good luck to the ladies that are having their inductions today - hope it will be nice & quick! :)

Sending some labour vibes to you MrsV & Rugby. Hopefully not long now.

Well my midwife appointment did not go quite as I hoped. My baby is being very naughty & has other ideas it would seem. His head is at at angle & not pointing down at the moment, so I'm waiting to hear if they want to do a scan to find out exactly what is going on. I've been told that if my waters break I'm to go straight in as the cord may come first. Not particularly thrilled, but hopeful that he'll get himself in the right position when the time comes.

Its far to hot here in Cornwall today - If it wasn't for the fear of someone calling the RSPCA to come & rescue the whale, I would seriously consider a wallow in the sea or int he kids paddling pool! Oooo, and I really fancy a glass or two of pimms.... hmmm a glass of cold sparkling elderflower it is then. :)

ohanotherone · 05/08/2011 14:30

Lol at the wedding knickers. I just hitched a ride in my sisters brand new BMW without taking any seat protection.....it didn't work either....Grin

Anu3 · 05/08/2011 14:47

I had my baby boy on wednesday at 17.26, at home in the pool, he weighed 8lb 1oz,as yet nameless, a \very quick labour (had tens machine on with contractions every 8 mins from 9am but only very short and very manageable, walked to gp at 1pm for mwappoitment, had sweep and to book +10 appointment, was 3cm dilated with bulging membranes, as soon as\I left there to alk back, contractions were every 4 mins, got home, phoned DP to drive the 3 hours but told him I thought he would miss the birth, could feel it was going to be quick, was filling the pool, phoning midwives etc and phoned a friend to come round, midwife arrived at 4pm, was 5cm, got in pool 4.30, started gas and air and contractions were then every 1-2 mins, very strong, massive urge to push, screaming my head off lol, my DD popped in to give me a kissand left again, he was born in one big push, resulting in a 3c (severe) third degree tear, had to go in by ambulance for a repair in theatre with a spinal and stay overnight, was sorry not to have my champagne! DP missed it- I'm kind of glad, think he would have been freaked out). My friend was a star and tidied up!)
All well and at home now, will post some pics!

KLou111 · 05/08/2011 15:13

Congrats Selina and hope the tear isn't too sore.

Getting really fed up and only 39+5 so not even overdue! 2 weeks ago had increasingly regular and more painful BHs so got very excited that things were kicking off then 24 hours later - nada, zilch.
TMI ALERT Last few days been getting more discharge - it's normal discharge but just loads more of it. Also noticed little white 'bits' in the loo when I've been for a wee. No pink/red/brown just white bits - is this little bits of show or something else?

I'm back to the obsessive knicker checking of early pregnancy but this time I'm actually hoping to find something!!

When will this baby come out? Feeling hot and huge - bleurgh

ohanotherone · 05/08/2011 16:01

Congratulations Selina, enjoy your lovely new baby...what about calling Augustus??? He was born in August with gusto! Smile

KLou111 · 05/08/2011 16:26

MrsBB I've been getting the little white bits for a couple of months, they were in my urine samples, and MW said was just discharge. May be something more 'hopeful' at this stage.

alibaba76 · 05/08/2011 16:31

Congratulations Selina!

MrsBB1982 I think that sounds like show as well. At our antenatal we got told show can come anytime, but if it's early and it's clear it will probably build itself back up again. Only if it's bloody/streaky do they take it as a sign that something will happen within a couple of weeks.

Mine seems to be appearing when I go for wees sometimes and so it's just like pink wee. I have also had white bits in the loo too tho like you. I am now thinking like the MW that it is show and not an infection. If it was an infection surely the blood would be all the time and getting worse (not coming and going) and there would be other symptoms (like cystitis)? I've had no more period/back pain so I think that was due to baby moving down a bit further. I am glad things seem to be moving but not too quickly. I've got some stuff organised next week that I really want to do, so if the baby could hold off until Thursday at least, I'd be a happy bunny!

NHAN · 05/08/2011 16:34

Congratulations Selina hope you are both doing well. I'm hoping for a homebirth so its nice to hear you managed it, although sounds as though it ended rather painfully! hope you heal quickly.

KLou111 · 05/08/2011 16:40

Not to say you're wrong Ali :) but a 'proper' show according to 2 MW's (from different areas) I've spoken to can be clear/white and not necessarily streaky, as I didn't think mine was a 'show' due to it being white, not streaky, but when I mentioned it, they said that's what it was :)

littlemissw · 05/08/2011 17:05

That is wonderful news Selina. Hope you heal quickly & are enjoying your precious little boy.

Re. mucus plugs/shows - it looks exactly like thick snot, it can come out in bits or all at once & can be white/clear/brown or bloody. If the latter, let your mw know. I think its pretty hard to mistake & you'd definitely know if you've lost it.

Enjoy the weekend! x

bettyboo83 · 05/08/2011 18:00

Congratualtions Selina! I hope you aren't too uncomfy and are enjoying your baby son Smile

RugbyWidow7 · 05/08/2011 18:24

Congratulations Selina - wonderful news! How fast! Hope you're starting to feel better.x

littlemissw · 05/08/2011 18:25

Some song suggestions for you Leilandri:
Israel Kamakawiwo'Ole -
Jason Mraz -
Janelle - Amazing (a bit soppy, but hey, we are pregnant after all)
I also second anything by Jack Johnson. :)

sisterT · 05/08/2011 18:45

Congratulations, Selina - hope you feel more comfy now and have had that champagne!!!

38+5 here; had DS at 38+4 so just want things over with. Definitely feeling the beached whale vibe......... Cant help re: 'show' as didnt get any of the helpful hints like that or BHs last time and nada here this time around Confused

Re chillout music leilandri: anything by Zero 7
Jack Johnson really got on my tits last labour which was a surprise Shock!!!!!

KTisPG · 05/08/2011 20:02

Congratulations Selina well done.

Good news here from growth scan - all ok. They think its 8lb 4oz at the moment but I've still got at least 3 weeks to grow so looks like it might be on course for the 9lb 7 my other two were. Wonder what the odds are of having three babies weighing exactly the same???

I've got my homebirth pack now and MW is coming on Monday to to final prep at home so I'm really starting to feel excited now. I'm busy planning lots of activities with the kids to keep us all entertained, and am pretending that the birth is not imminent so that I don't get too impatient. Not sure how long it will work for but hey.

I'm really struggling to sleep at night now - my hips get so painful I have to get up and resorted to sleeping on the sofa bed last night. Yawn.

Firawla · 05/08/2011 21:14

Congrats selina!!
I just thought I'd check in from hospital, no baby yet he doesn't seem to be in much of a hurry I've had 2 lots of the gel already now waiting to c if they will be able to break waters but was still only 1cm last they checked. I'm having some contractions but not much so atleast I'm not really in pain all this time that I'm hanging around, and hospital seems nice I got own room and bathroom at the moment so quite impressed with that! But hopefully will hav some news soon and good luck to those with the shows or any signs

littlemisslozza · 05/08/2011 21:33

Congratulations Selina! Hope you heal quickly and have been able to toast the arrival of your new son.

Good luck Firawla, hope things kick off for you soon. RunDMC was induced today aswell I think???

LifeOfKate · 05/08/2011 21:39

Congratulations Selina :)

Good luck to those being induced.

Still nothing going on here, I'm due on Wednesday :(

JenniferYellowHatsRedLingerie · 05/08/2011 21:49

Well done Selina and congratulations, let us know what you name him. Hope your DD is all over her new little brother!
Good luck Firawla, see you on the other side! :)

KT, hope all's good for your HB check.

I've had a shit day, culminating in a huge flood of tears when dh got home. Something about I don't even know what the cat wants so how am I going to look after a baby?! Think I'm overtired :) I just hate not knowing when and what is going to happen! So I've had a word with myself and am going to chill the feck out. Or do some more cleaning. DH is awesome tho, bless him, he says he doesn't mind hanging round at home so he'll have the next one for us :)

CappuccinoCarrie · 05/08/2011 21:55

Congratulations selina! Looking forward to hearing the name (still need ideas here!) and really hope you recover quickly from the op on your tear, look after yourself.

KLou111 · 05/08/2011 22:37

Quick question, since 9pm I've been getting bh every 5 mins. Very odd. Any of you had this before? Don't want to get too excited that its going to turn into something.

Good luck fir x

JenniferYellowHatsRedLingerie · 05/08/2011 23:06

ItS probably just practicing KLou - if they're not painful then just go to bed and see what happens.
Totally share your frustration :) I so want something to happen!
