winter fingers crossed for tomorrow

I'm a bit jealous of all the pregnancy massages. I want one!

I believe nesting has kicked in. I've cleaned the oven after having the urge to do it all day. If I weren't so tired, I'd be doing the bathroom too.

WinterLover · 21/07/2011 20:42

DP and I now have a bet, I think DSD will get to meet s/he this weekend... DP reckons baby will come mid next week.. we shall see lol

alibaba76 · 21/07/2011 21:53

Well I ain't nesting yet which is just as well as floors covered in mud because of work getting done on driveway. I hope the nesting kicks in once it's finished and I can have a lovely clean house for the baby coming.

Was at MW today and all is well with me and my boy. He's in the perfect position and is measuring spot on at 36 weeks. Also the head has started to engage, at 4/5 just now. Really thrilled - couldn't have gone better.

First day in ages that I haven't managed a nap at all and I'm absolutely shattered. However still got to dry my hair and do some ironing....

MrsBB1982 · 22/07/2011 11:35

I've totally dropped off the Mumsnet radar. Been reading what everyone is up to but never seem to have time to write anaything. DH been taking exams, we've been trying to move house (unsuccessfully) and I've been doing my own full time job plus the extras the bosses keep throwing at me.

Now on matty leave and it's great Grin. Winterlover - that is so exciting. I hope the baby stays put until DP is around. Baby has been very active last few days - DH reckons he's 'packing' Hmm

Getting a really odd sensation - TMI but I describe it to DH as a 'cervix power punch'. It's a really short but very sharp pain deep inside Blush. Goodness knows what that means. 37+5 now so getting very excited. Very jealous of everyones nurseries as we're in rented accomodation and can't make any changes.

Hope everyone is keeping well. Can't believe we're all so close to the end now.

MrsBB1982 · 22/07/2011 11:36

Forgot to say - good luck with your presentation scan/appointment today winterlover

Rehune · 22/07/2011 12:14

MrsBB 'packing' I love it!

MrsChemist · 22/07/2011 12:35

MrsBB I always thought that feeling was getting nutted in the cervix.
I'm getting it as well. I've heard it described on here as 'knitting needle up the fanjo'.

In fact, he's doing it now because I'm having BH. Ow ow ow!

WinterLover · 22/07/2011 14:38

MrsBB love your DP's view on LOs movements Grin

Update from appointment, baby is very much head down which is great news... however I have to have a full growth scan on Tuesday then see the consultant as im now measuring 41cm Hmm gone up 3 cm in 2 days but hey ho! I was told if I go into labour not to worry and just deal with it as I would at 40w Grin

Just been shopping with my grandma, she has insisted on buying baby things, so I do feel spoilt now. Got a lovely bath set, changing mat and several blankets (all unisex colours much to everyones annoyance) and shes insisted on when baby goes into its cot in its room ive to let her know and she will buy the cot bedding for it too - its their first great-grand child Grin

MrsVidic · 22/07/2011 17:52

hi all,

Just back from mw who tells me im 2/5 engaged and ready to go- I hope shes right and baby is early but ive had nno signs yet

(searches for signs like some religeous fanatic!)

bettyboo83 · 22/07/2011 21:27

Me too Mrs V, I hope something will happen soon Grin

MrsVidic · 22/07/2011 21:41

Grin saw 3 magpie's the other day ( I'm having a girl I convinced myself it was a sign!)

Rehune · 22/07/2011 23:06

8 days to due date and it feels like FOREVER. My dad has to fly off on work tomorrow am and will be gone for a week so he keeps telling me to wait until he comes back. He's got a ticket on standby in case I go into labour but it's a ten and a half hour flight back. Hope he doesn't land and have to fly straight back!

Walked all over Westfield today - met a friend for lunch and then did some shopping and more walking. DH still in manchester and due tomorrow. He was meant to fly off to Norway to cover the bombing there but said no.

Good news on baby being down winter and the rest. Good luck with the growth scan.

WinterLover · 23/07/2011 07:48

Thanks Rehune I can sympathise with you on your Dad. My dad is at work at the min and he flys home on 4th Aug. There is no way of him coming home any sooner so If this baby does come out he wont be here :( its his first grandchild too.

Firawla · 23/07/2011 09:38

winter good news that your baby is head down, hopefully you will be able to feel bit more relaxed about going into labour then

good luck mrs v too, sounds like it may not be too long for both of you

i got a call from the hospital today that apparently i have an infection and need to go in and get antibiotics on monday Confused
i feel okay though but a bit tired and needing a break, my mum came for a night and has gone back yesterday but sometimes even though people come supposed to give you a chance to rest a bit, you end up feeling like you get even less chance to rest than normal, cos people are staying... i am wondering when am i going to get any chance to relax a little bit before even going into hospital to have the baby, so i think i will need to make dh feel bit guilty and sorry for me, and have a whole day of resting and lounging around either tomorrow or next weekend

Rehune · 23/07/2011 10:39

Firawla I suppose this is the only chance in the world to get selfish and not feel bad. So go for it! Judicious use of guilt is no bad thing! ;) Hope infection is not too bad

KLou111 · 23/07/2011 10:49

Hi all. Hope not long now MrsV and Winter Grin

You do need to relax Firawla I know it's difficult as I am the same with the not relaxing, but DH and I have given ourselves the weekend 'off' (no doubt I'll do something though!!)

House nearly complete which is fab. New wooden floor down in lounge nd looks goooooooorgeous, so clean and tidy too (took us 3 days as all different plank lengths which was confusing, but apparently that's how real wood comes Hmm) but does look better than if they were all the same length TBH.
DH just got a little grouting to do in the bathroom, then have a friend coming next weekend to do all the skirting, hand en-suite door and some other finishing off bits and done woohoo!!
Then just a major clean up which I can't wait to do!!

Hello, 36 weeks today, think its going to drag from now on expecially with dd off school and ds only at nursery 3 morns a week and they constantly fight, its a nightmare! Waiting for dp to get back from work so we can do our one and only child free baby shop together for bottles and stuff that i havent picked up yet, my bag is half packed for hospital and ive washed all the babys blankets, sheets and clothes today as the sun was out this morn but its going to pour down any min and our dryer has packed up!!

im amazed at how many people keep saying how small my bump is, and it it smaller than last time im sure, ds was big but i think this one is going to be quite petite!! ive no new stretch marks but theres time yet, i got lots last time in the last 2 weeks.

im 95% certain im having a girl, we didnt find out but im had such a strong feeling from day one ill be gobsmacked if its a boy, but im not bothered either way just excited to know!
ive had 2 migraines in the last week (since school finished funnily enough!) so my hormones are upto something and my eyes dont feel 100% today hope 1 doesnt come.

selina you have not posted for a while, has anything happened i remember you are nearly due i think?

have a nice weekend everyone x

Rehune · 23/07/2011 12:31

I've tidied all the wardrobes and our 'electrical' drawer - all usb cables, chargers, handsfree kits, adapters etc etc Now overwhelming urge to tidy kitchen cabinets. Told myself to sit down and rest for a bit but then friend calls up saying she wants to come round to drop something off. It's incredibly sweet of her but I just don't want to see anyone. I know that's horrible but just the thought of being social makes me want to sleep!

MrsStevo · 23/07/2011 12:55

Hi all!!

MY BABIES HAVE ARRIVED!!!!!!!!

My darling little twin girls arrived on Wednesday 20th July at 10:25am and 10:29am! First baby out was Madeleine Abigail weighing 4lb 4oz, followed 4 minutes later by Sophia Tara who weighed a tiny 3lb 6oz. They arrived a little earlier than scheduled as they broke their waters at 2:30am. No contractions or anything hideous like that but after the waters went the consultant wanted to deliver them asap so it was an ERCS in the end - but all very calm and wonderful.

Both are just the most perfect little babies in the whole world (biased, I know). They are both in special care due to their birth weight and history of TTTS but they are doing superbly and consultant is very happy with their progress. They had quite a few tubes etc to begin with for drips and stuff but both just have tube feeds now and everything else is out. Madeleine is in a proper cot now but Sophia still in an incubator for now to keep her snug until she podges up a bit! I was discharged yesterday but they have rooms for parents in special care so I've just moved up there to be near my girls.

I can't even begin to describe how proud and extremely in love I am with these perfect little beings. Getting all weepy just typing the words. When I'm home again I'll upload some photos so I can show them off.

Can't catch up with everyone else's news now as I need to get back to my babies.... can't bear to be apart from them. Hope you're all really well x x x

MrsVidic · 23/07/2011 13:09
