Spent the morning doing my tax return and got nowhere! Urgh how boring -such a relief to be on here!

Littlemiss thanks for the book recommendation. I've just bought it on Amazon! Can't wait to start reading. Re.the rasberry leaf tea - I've started drinking one a day but see you're doing the tablets as well - can these be taken at the same time? What dose do you take a day and do you increase it towards the end? I'd like your second stage of labour!

Winter a belated happy birthday! Good luck for Friday too. Doesn't sound like you'll be long now!

Firawla, your landlady sounds horrendous. I really feel for you as we have had a totally unstable nutcase as a landlady previously and it's no fun. She was completely irrational and made zero sense with her arguements. Yours sounds so familiar. I hope you can try to focus on your lovely baby and the day you can move out of there!

RugbyWidow7 · 20/07/2011 16:45

Oops sorry, happy belated birthday Betty

WinterLover · 20/07/2011 19:11

Thanks everyone, part of me wants this to be it, so I can get my normal feet and legs back and maybe manage more than 20min between toilet trips but if I have baby soon my dad wont see his first grandchild for 2 weeks Hmm Oh well baby will come when s/he's ready Grin

KLou111 · 20/07/2011 21:06

I'd have her for breach of contract and renting a house that is obviously an environmental health problem firawla.
Asked mum about tablets and said don't have to tell go but she's concerned about me taking them as ladies she used to look after were all early taking them lol. But said up to me.

Hope all goes well for scan winter

Hi guys, a little tip- don't play football with your toddler at 38 weeks. I am now in agony- I can't separate my legs turn in bed or anything- hoping it will go after tonight and it's not the dreaded SPd! Sad if I'm no better tomorrow I'm going to move my Mw appt from fri to tomorrow to beg them for something- as I literally can barley walk. On the upside I think baby has moved further down,

I have just finished wrapping all my dds presents for her bday tomorrow and read through my pregnancy journal from last time, I'm so glad I kept one!

WinterLover · 20/07/2011 21:33

Confused think my waters are leaking... Will do as I was told at ante natal and put a pad on to see how much comes out..

bettyboo83 · 20/07/2011 23:22

Thanks for the birthday wishes girls Smile
Your landlady sounds horrendous Firawla I assume you've complained to the letting agent about her? I hope you find something soon.
How are things going WinterLover???

Firawla · 21/07/2011 08:27

ooh winter sounds like things are going to be quite soon for you if you have lost your mucus thing already and now waters are going.. good luck! hope everything goes well
klou yeh once we have somewhere else sorted and organised will probs go down the route of reporting her in some way, although dunno how to go about it. betty i dont trust the agent either, but he does know the situation. agent is dodgy himself though eg has not protected deposit but insists he has done, "through his own scheme" Hmm pretty sure that is bullshit but oh well, can always try to sue them for it...
mrsv hope you feel better soon! football at 38 weeks does sound a bit over ambitious! but maybe with a bit of rest you will go back to normal. hope your dd has a great birthday!

my mum is coming this afternoon for a couple of days so hopefully will start to feel organised, i think she is bringing moses basket down with her etc

WinterLover · 21/07/2011 10:01

Nothing overnight so wonder if it was just reallllllllly thin mucus as the MW said could happen. Hmmmm I dont like this not knowing, its driving me mad.

Got bad period cramps but theyre low down and not in my bump so who knows. Got my scan and consultant appointment in the morning so will keep my eye on things today and ring MW later if im still getting leaks. Im so paranoid though that contractions start, because if they do I have to get up to hospital ASAP as the MW told me that much yesterday.

Although as advised by the lovely MN users I did put a pad on and sniff, but it resembled urine more than anything Hmm so confused.

Baby cant come yet anyway, DP's 6 hours away in scotland at the min, he'll be home about 4.30!! Luckily tomoro he thinks they've put him on local deliveries.

I want to go for a nice soak in the bath but I have to wait for stoopid city link to deliver a couple of parcels. Whats the betting they come at 5!

Just put some flapjack in the oven, to keep me going if end up in hospital Grin

Rehune · 21/07/2011 10:28

Winter Sounds like it's all happening. Or somethings happening. Are you ok? I guess it would just be nice to know for sure what IS happening. But good luck and thinking of you x

KLou111 · 21/07/2011 10:31

Can you leave a note on the door for your delivery winter.

Annie456 · 21/07/2011 10:54

Hey ladies,
I've had a week away and it's just taken me soooo long to catch up- winter how exciting!!! I guess we'll be having a few more to look forward to as the days go by as we're all so close (well not me!).
It's been a week since the burglary and although I've got my head around it / rationalised it it's made me feel pretty down about everything. The time at my parents house wasn't at all relaxing and I couldn't sleep knowing that DH was still in our house. I'm back now and planning on taking it really easy for a couple of days. Just going to potter around and try to get my energy back-I'm sure I'll feel better when I'm not so exhausted. I'll pretend that maternity leave starts today instead if last week!

On the raspberry leaf tea-I've got bushes in my garden-can I make the tea from them or would it be too weak? I guess it's probably one of those things where each tablet has the equivalent of 1000 leaves or something!
Xx

WinterLover · 21/07/2011 11:44

Unfortunately they need an actual signature. The cramps have gone now so cracking on with the house a bit. Got the travel cot up in the living room now so the dog can get used to it being there, although this particular dog will not leave my side at the min. Kitchen is now almost spotless so as soon as delivery is here, im flying off to Tescos (2 min from home) to get some bread, milk etc for the freezer (cant have DP going without basics Hmm)

Had a nice chat with my mum so she's now on standby with DP working away. All leaking has kinda stopped so thinking it was just a very loose version of mucus plug.

ohanotherone · 21/07/2011 15:55

Winter, that's exciting but do rest a bit, can't you get tesco to deliver????

Annie, I'm sorry about the burgalry, how awful.

Firwala - If there is an environmental health issue with your flat, ie/ leaky roof the local council can step in even in privately rented properties. It's worth looking at their website if you have time Grin

I had a scan today to see how much fluid is around the baby. It was fine and my little girl has a big fat tummy!!!!!

Anu3 · 21/07/2011 16:24

winter - its all happening!! Excting and scary! Put your feet up and relax a bit if you can!

rehune - This is where i went for the 'Sumptuous Mother to be massage' www.orchidretreat.co.uk/content/view/67/84/ and yes def recommend! Its in North London and really amazing and totally worth it! Im tempted to go for another one in 2 weeks if bubba has not arrived (that will be on my due date!!) :)

Firawla Your landlady sounds horrible!!! So sorry but I hope you find something soon.

CappuccinoCarrie · 21/07/2011 18:07

Ooooh could we be having another birth soon...? How are you winter?

annie I hope you feel settled in your house again soon, what a horrible experience.

My lovely friends organised a surprise baby shower for me last night, I had absolutely no idea til they knocked on the door and brought in all the stuff for a non-alcoholic cocktail party. It was brilliant, and I couldn't believe how many people I'd seen in the last week and not one of them had let slip we'd be meeting up again so soon! There were some great games and people were getting very into the cocktail making, a definitely to be repeated evening...although without the baby theme next time Wink

Also they clubbed together to get me a pregnancy massage (complete with one of the girls offering childcare for my DD and DS Grin) which I hope to cash in next week :) :) :)

Revisiting the routine debate, GF totally saved my sanity with my DCs. I would have had no idea how often they should feed/nap/for how long, but it gave me the confidence to know if the baby had had a good feed and some awake time, that the next thing was a nap rather than trying to feed a baby that was actually tired. And far from encouraging leaving them to cry, GF is actually about anticipating their needs and meeting them before they're overtired/overhungry (hence the title 'contented'). Without her it would never have occurred to me to take an apparently awake little baby for a nap and do a 10 min quiet cuddle and wind-down and put them in their cot drowsy but awake. By the time both my DCs were three months they were easily settling themselves in their cots for naps and sleeping well overnight, which I attribute to her great guidance, and the baby whisperer's routine of eat, activity, sleep.

But I totally understand its not for everyone, I love structure and routine and spreadsheets and lists, but some people get stressed by those things and I wouldn't recommend trying to be the sort of parent that isn't your natural character.

WinterLover · 21/07/2011 18:13

Im ok, just PMT type cramping at the min and a very wriggly baby. DPs got home and ive decided Tescos can wait Grin

Just need to figure out what to have for tea, im too tired to eat but know I need to eat Hmm im thinking fried egg sandwiches but they wont taste as nice as they do in my head lol

MrsVidic · 21/07/2011 18:36

Winter- exciting times- yet so frustrating not knowing when!

I have had lots of oh-my-god pains down my legs/ pelvis but not regular and I've been told it's the baby putting her head into position. Literally these pains are worse than contractions but don't last as long! Still at least were all going in the right direction. SPd has calmed down lots- def aggravated by yesterdays sporting activities!

Dd has had a fab birthday- we took her to the beach then swimming at the pool. Were really lucky, we live on a private estate and have a pool which is really nice warm and empty! Which is why you'll hear me go on about going swimming, tennis, park etc but it is just across the road and it's easier to take my dd out than entertain her in doors iyswim.

KLou111 · 21/07/2011 18:40

It's all going on on here isn't it! So exciting :)

WinterLover · 21/07/2011 19:02

cramps are for about 5min every 2-3 hours..... hopefully they stay that way until scan in the morning, but either way I have a feeling DP will be missing the birth :(

MrsVidic · 21/07/2011 19:07

Winter if they are regular and 3 mins apart are you sure not labour? Mine started and stayed at that for dd, do you have someone who can go with you just to get checked out- they don't keep you in unless they have to- so unless your in real labour.

WinterLover · 21/07/2011 19:14

They are every 2 -3 hours not minutes Grin if they become more frequent I will ring hospital up as im due a presentation scan in the morning as they think maybe breech.

Rehune · 21/07/2011 19:45

Thanks Anu

Have been so tired today. Suddenly felt an urge to rearrange all my clothes. Did so and have felt like sleeping the whole day. Felt like and also done it.

Winter hope it goes well tomorrow

MrsVidic · 21/07/2011 20:03

Grin oh sorry winter - pregnancy brain over here
