Oooohhhh Winter, keep us postedXXX

Mrs. Stevo - I am same but on Iron tablets, scary every time I go to the loo. Blush

WinterLover · 19/07/2011 14:38

Nothing new to add Hmm midwife says just to keep an eye on it and they'll check me over in the morning at my appointment but if baby stops moving or I get pain I've to ring back.

Getting all stressy now trying to pack my bag, but no idea what clothes to put in it Hmm

MrsVidic · 19/07/2011 14:44

You can loose your plug up to 3 weeks prior apparently- still is exciting

KLou111 · 19/07/2011 15:46

Not sure about you but as much as I am totally bricking it I am soooooo excited now!

Ooh Winter how exciting. Don't stress!

MrsS you poor thing re. the damp - just not what you need at the moment. I hope you can sort it out like you say.

I can't face any waxing - you ladies are amazing! Although I did have an hilarious shaving incident the other day. As I can't really see what I'm doing down there I managed to give myself a bald patch. Looked ridiculous but made DH laugh (though not sure that's the idea!). Wink

aStarInStrangeways · 19/07/2011 17:51

I've never had anything waxed but I have had tattoo work done while on my period and it fucking hurt like crazy, much much worse than when not on the rag. So by extremely unscientific deduction I conclude that yes, waxing probably is harsher when your body's awash with late pregnancy hormones and stuff.

Winter if you feel anything like me, I really really hope this is the start of labour for you Grin

MrsS that is shit about the damp. Surely one for DH to worry about/sort out - you're doing enough right now.

MrsChemist same same with the hip pain and rubbish sleep. There was mucho bed-hopping last night which didn't help, so DS and I are both totally cream crackered. Thank goodness my nan came over and helped to entertain him, but still...roll on bedtime.

WinterLover · 19/07/2011 18:50

Thanks everyone, getting odd twinges now.

Getting funny odd twinges now... I pray to god I dont go into labour tonight/tomorrow on the count of DP having to leave home at 4am tomoro and wont be back until about 6pm ish and there is no way he cant go and he'll be about 5 hours away... will have to call mum if I do go into labour then pray DP doesnt miss it.

Got everything ready for my bag now, just need to find a bag to put it in. Going to build up the rocking crib after tea, then thats one less thing to worry about. Ive kinda sorted all baby stuff out now, although it is still all dumped in DSDs room its in order so if i do go in for a few days DP can easily lay his hands on things i need.

ohanotherone · 19/07/2011 20:18

Winter....Oh, that is exciting!!!!! Keep us posted XXXXX

Yep, the no sleep hip hurt trouble is a pain, literally.

littlemisslozza · 19/07/2011 20:44

Oooh, exciting Winterlover! Fingers crossed that it's the start of something for you.

littlemissw · 19/07/2011 21:29

How exciting Winter & good luck if it turns out to be the real thing!

Re pregnancy books Klou & MrsS, I bought Baby Secrets: how to know your baby's needs with my first & found it invaluable. I don't care for GF, especially since she has no kids of her own, but did want some sort of routine. I felt like I had no idea what I was doing & this def gave me the confidence to go with what I thought was right. It is written by a mum of twins & a sleep specialist & basically gives you 7 different 'guides' to choose from depending on what your baby/ies are like. It is not strict at all (as I say you pick the routine closest to what your baby is following anyway) and I found that it really helped DH too. When he got home from work in the evenings he knew exactly why baby was crying & would help out without even having to ask me. It also has a little list of 'reasons my baby may be crying' which I found great, as I just used to go though the list until I found the reason (hungry, wet, tired, too hot/cold, ect.). Packed full of really useful advise & tips & I cannot recommend it HIGHLY enough. .

I've also started taking my RLTea & tablets & truly believe that it does make a difference to the second stage of labour. Both my babies have been OP & I managed to push them both out without assistance in under 10 mins. I let my tea cool down in the fridge & mix it with some apple squash - really refreshing & a completely different taste to having it hot on its own (yuk)!

Don't think my link worked, so here it is again:

bettyboo83 · 20/07/2011 00:09

Hi everyone,
I've had a lovely day - it's my birthday today (well yesterday now!) so have been spoilt rotten by DP. Then he took me to my favourite restaurant and had secretly got my family there too which was a lovely surprise Smile Had a fab hen do at the weekend too. We went to a health spa and had some lovely treatments including a foot and leg massage which has helped my swollen trotters Hmm
Hope everyone else is ok. Kepp us posted Winterlover!! My friend has just lent me the Mumsnet Babies guide and it seems to have some good tips if you just want info rather than a 'routine'.

WinterLover · 20/07/2011 08:47

For those of you having twins here's a little treat for you to make you smile Grin

KLou111 · 20/07/2011 08:51

Happy birthday for yesterday betty sounds like you had a fab day :)

Firawla · 20/07/2011 09:37

happy bday for yesterday betty!

littlemissw that idea sounds really nice for the raspberry leaf tea, might try something like that. i have been meaning to go and buy my rasp leaf, i will have to get to the shops today. with my other 2 i started taking it straight away at 35 weeks or whenever the earliest is thats recommended (cant remember) so am a bit later this time due to disorganisation. not really sure whether it helped or not as i had one difficult birth and one easy one but it cant do any harm so always worth a try i think. i dont really mind the taste of it as a tea anyway

winter how exciting, hopefully baby will not be long now!! and anyone else who lost mucus plug, im thinking there was a couple of people but cant remember who?? i never noticed losing it with either of mine

we went yesterday to view some houses and seen one we liked, so hopefully we will be able to move again in a couple of months. had some strange phone calls from agent that apparently landlady has been phoning them up hysterical about various things, so very keen to go as she just gets weirder and weirder! but due to all that it means i am thinking more about trying to organise houses and where to live etc than organising for baby, so think i need to focus a bit and try to get ready! but my mum will come for a couple of days tomorrow so hopefully she will make me get on with it

KLou111 · 20/07/2011 10:00

Re raspberry leaf. Got my tablets and they are 900mg and says should tell doctor if taking them when preg. Not sure how many to take. It says up to 2 per day but that's for if you're not preg. Confused!

Firawla · 20/07/2011 11:18

klou ask your mum, as a midwife she will know?

WinterLover · 20/07/2011 12:49

Well im back from MW's :(

Yes it was mucus plug/bloody show yesterday, however baby is now measuring 37 weeks rather than 35+5 so it is off the chart, but her main concern is after 15min of prodding and poking (which really hurt today) she couldnt confirm whether baby was head down or breech. If it is breech it would explain why im measuring big and still high. Shes also concerned as bump is all baby and could mean low fluid.

I have a consultant appointment and scan on Friday and have to go back to MW for weekly checks now rather than fortnightly :(

She says 'not to worry you but if you go into labour before friday ring straight away and tell them you've been refered to consultant for presentation as MW believes its unstable lie' :( If it is breech they wont do an ECV as I have an anterior placenta.

Oh and she kept saying that you can lose your mucus plug/have a bloody show up to 2 weeks before you go into labour - maybe my private growth scan was right then... we shall see Grin

Its going to be a long 2 days!!!

neverlookback · 20/07/2011 13:38

ooh winter bet u wont be long then, dont worry im sure everything will be fine, my neighbour has had 2 breech babies and refused c sec both times and pushed them out on her own.

klou when i got my rasp leaf capsules, the 900mg ones said 1 a day in pg, i got the 425mg ones as they were cheaper but im going to start taking 2 a day next week.

firwala you sound so calm about this landlady, i would be so stressed out, whats her problem?

WinterLover · 20/07/2011 13:52

thanks never the breech bit I can get my head around but its the low fluid thats a bit worrying. Guess they will check that on Friday too.

Anu3 · 20/07/2011 14:25

Happy birthday for yesterday betty!!

Re Rasp leaf - is it better to sip the tea or take the capsules? Im going to go get one of them today.

Ive just got back from the most amazing 1 and a half hour pregnancy massage and feel soooo good! My back and feet were killing me the last 2 weeks and this was just what i needed! Apparently i had a lot of knots in my back from being tense and carrying all that weight and now that they are gone i feel so relaxed! Also got a pedicure done :)

majormoo · 20/07/2011 15:25

Winter I had a scan as midwife thought my baby was breech and took just a few minutes to check fluid and presentation. In my case all was fine-fingers crossed for you too.

I have pregnancy massage booked for next fri. Cannot wait. Have to survive DD's 8th birthday party on this Saturday first -10 kids in an ice cream parlour-first

Firawla · 20/07/2011 15:32

winter i hope everything is okay and the scan is reassuring when you go in on fri, good luck!!

anu that sounds nice and relaxing! my back and feet are also aching i think cos i have been doing a lot of travelling this week, so havent bothered to go out today in the end even though i was intending to get my rasp leaf tea, just feel too lazy!

never she is just a weirdo!! apparently she is going thru a difficult divorce and uses this as an excuse for her behaviour but tbh, that is her problem i don't really care :p i mean if she behaved normally and nicely i would have some sympathy for her situation but as it is i don't really see why i should be bothered. i made a thread about her in aibu a week or so back, about her and her washing machine. she left one that was infested in mould and bascially tried to threaten and just tell us we were not allowed to even buy our own replacement one from our own money, but we had to wait indefinately for her to get it fixed (she had taken a month already!), she also refuses to do any repairs like we found part of the roof is leaking when it rains heavily and she was just like 'yeh i know!', and there is some damp etc which needs sorting. we havent really chased her about it at all, but got it written on inventory, but still she became so hysterical about it claiming we are demanding?!! i can only conclude she is a bit unstable or out of touch with reality or something, so really i am just past caring because we will just move again hopefully soon, so i don't really have the energy to get too stressed about it, i rather just think whatever we will just go then and leave her to it, some people like that you cant reason with!

Rehune · 20/07/2011 15:54

MrsVidic On good friend's first DC, she had neglected whole area and midwife dry shaved her when she went it!! true story (not in this country though)

winter hope all is well. I keep thinking I am losing mine in bits (gross I know) good luck for friday

anu where did you get your pregnancy massage? Was it in London? Would you recommend? It sounds spectacular. I would kill for one right now.

Firwala She sounds like one I used to have, Although it was complete hassle to move (just before Christmas) I am so glad I did. poor you!

Betty Happy Birthday! (for yday)

Finally going to pack my hospital bag now. Must must do it. Have been putting it off
