Found out on sunday that were expecting our first baby in march!! Some online due date calculators say the 8th and some say the 10th so im not quite sure which one is right!!

Ive got my 1st doctors appointment tomorrow to confirm things

Has anyone else got the BFP and wants to celebrate?

Poppins27 · 25/07/2011 20:09

Laabama....I. Felt exactly the same as you last week...had no symptoms and was doubting the BFP. Since voicing my concerns on here I can officially confirm that my 'wellness' has completely nosedived!! Urgh....banging my head now at how stupid I feel for almost wanting some symptoms!!!

Oh well...on a more positive note I got my booking in appointment today. Finally...on the 8th I can tell someone my news!! Woo hoo!!

Poppins27 · 25/07/2011 20:21

Sorry SantaLucia...just seen your post re not having your appointment until 14 weeks and realised how gloaty my post was!! Apologies...it wasn't meant like that at all!! 14 weeks is totally sucky though...is there no chance of getting seen sooner?!

MrsCog · 25/07/2011 21:19

Can I just ask - what was/is everyone wearing at 7+3? All my trousers and skirts are getting tight and I don't know what to do - no bump so clearly too early for maternity stuff - should I just go out and buy myself a couple of comfy jeans etc in a size up from normal? Feeling ashamed I'm already flabby (normally fit and a size 8-10) at 7 weeks.

Welcome to all the new people :)

BitzyVonMuffling · 25/07/2011 21:29

I'd buy normal, but bigger clothes. You'll wear them on the way back down again. I'm a week behind you and a 10-12. I've put on no weight, but I do feel thicker in the waist, particuarly as the day goes on. I have some baggy jeans that I've been living in for the last couple of days, and have pinched dp's hardly ever worn pj bottoms to wear at night. I really felt odd today, like I couldn't bear anything on my tummy, I had to take my jeans off as soon as I got in, and they're not even tight Confused. Have been feeling nauseous all day, so I think the days of no symptoms are behind me. Yay HmmWink

Reallea · 25/07/2011 22:11

Echo what Bitzy says. Buy bigger then wear them after the birth. I am 7+4 and still in normal clothes but that's because I've lost so much weight due to vomitting, I'm still feeling bloated in the afternoons and evenings, its just that there's room for the bloating! I am in a size 12 at the mo and will go to a 14 before I go maternity but I have them already from the way back down last time.

nandrin · 25/07/2011 22:28

Welcome and congrats to the newcomers!
MrsCog I'd buy a size bigger, Bitsys right you'll wear them after the birth. Don't worry about being "flabby" at 7 weeks, its probably just bloating and water retention. I was really bloated in my first preg until around 9 weeks and then it went away and I didn't get a bump til about 18wks. This time around I'm less bloated but jeans still feeling a bit snug.
Nausea has hit but only puked a couple of times, couldn't face food today as the smell of it just makes me heave and I'm knackered and in a crap mood most of the time.

6+2

ShaggingProducesResults · 25/07/2011 22:32

I'm 7+2 today but am still in my normal clothes. Possibly as it's my first I guess (that and not being able to face much food!!!!) hoping to be able to get by on my regular clothes, then add some bump bands before I move into maternity wear. Don't worry about "being flabby" MrsCog. Firstly, I bet that's only in your head and secondly, everybody developed at differing stages and rates.

My mum left hospital in her pre pregnancy jeans so I'm hoping that's genetic!!! Knowing my luck I'll balloon in 2 weeks and still be in maternity wear this time next year!!!

Carlitawantsababy · 25/07/2011 23:30

Ooh, how exciting for all those having private scans, it'll be so great to see the little bean, please let me know what it's like!
So sorry to all those suffering with sickness, I feel very lucky, I'm just fat! Smile

babybrain3 · 26/07/2011 07:35

I'm just looking forward to my docs appt tomorrow, although she probably won't do anything..... :( Will still be good to get a confirmed due date and get things moving....

pommedechocolat · 26/07/2011 08:38

7 + 4 today. In my normal clothes but the stretchy leggings part of my normal wardrobe! In my maternity bras already as boobs huge and very sore. I keep reading that this should be better second time round?!

I registered I was pg with the gp last Monday and she said the midwife would call me. How long does this normally take? Would have expected a call by now tbh.

pixelpeeper · 26/07/2011 08:50

8+3

Tired
so, so tired

Fat
so, so fat

KittyRogue · 26/07/2011 08:53

Hey all?! Hope everyone is doing ok today!

Telling the brother in law went so-so, we told him and he asked us not to tell his wife till after 12 weeks so not to upset her Justin case :/ this meant we couldn't tell the grandparents so made the weekend slightly awkward...

Morning sickness has kicked in big style! I'm 6+4 and just couldn't face work today after yesterday! What with the long bus ride in with a tender tummy and then the quick walk to work....:( I had to keep dashing to the loo and falling asleep at my desk! Bad times!

Baby, hope the drs appointment went well!

NotFromConcentrate · 26/07/2011 09:17

Morning all! :)

I was up during the night with some crampy pains, but all settled this morning and no spotting or anything, so all seems well.

I am fatter than a fat thing. In the two month prior to falling pregnant I lost 2.5 stone and 24 inches, so the bloating seems really noticeable and I'm a bit sad to see all my hard work come undone. Will keep going with the gym and the healthy eating and see how it goes.

Anyone else expecting baby number 3 and looking really belly-ish this time?

pixelpeeper · 26/07/2011 09:42

concentrate - yes

baby number 3 is coming, and the belly is huge. Really.

pommedechocolat · 26/07/2011 10:45

KittyRogue sorry to hear that. Think your BIL is being a bit misguided - what difference does it make after 12 weeks? It's going to be just as hard for her then as it is now, in fact harder if she finds out everyone has been hiding things from her I think.

I have a huge bump in the evening as wind gathers during the day. I am so farty it is horrible Blush

broodylicious · 26/07/2011 11:05

Hi Pomme - I registered as pregnant with my doctor last Wednesday (almost weed myself with excitement as I told the receptionist!) and we filled out all the forms together. Then they made me an appointment with the midwife there and then for Aug 19th (when I'll be nine weeks).

So far, not feeling bloated today but wowsers do my boobs hurt! I did do another test last night to be sure the little apple seed is still in there after the original symptoms left me last week. I love seeing that word "Pregnant" pop up :)

KittyRogue · 26/07/2011 11:59

Thanks Pomme, I will let them sort it out between themselves as he knows her better than I do. But I do think it's not very fair.

Don't worry worry about the farting thing, have been playing magical tunes all evening!

itsababslife · 26/07/2011 13:17

I had a scan this morning...all looking good, phew! For anyone else at the 6 wk stage, we've all got a little LED blob flashing on and off inside us Grin

Bloaty - check

Farty - check

Agonising boobs that DD seems to think are targets for punching practice - check

Generally crap - check (although this mornings result has cheered me up no end)

Hello to all the new peeps :)

broodylicious · 26/07/2011 13:22

ooooh how exciting!! I'm in my sixth week now so good to know :) I cannot wait to get to my scan - we're not having an early one though, unless there's anything feeling bad in there...

withoutanet · 26/07/2011 14:09

Feeling freaked out and terribly sad. Was in the hospital last night with cramps and bleeding, but was unable to get a scan until TOMORROW MORNING. Dr. did a physical and seemed quite blase about it all, telling me that my cervix has a slight opening and that there's nothing they can do. DP and I sitting around in an absolute fog today - I'm trying so so hard to stay positive but just now have started cramping and spotting again. Any positive advice to offer between now and my 10.00am scan tomorrow?

Reallea · 26/07/2011 14:41

Withoutanet try not to worry too much, spotting is v common in pregnancy, and you will find a great number of people experience it when their second period was due... This is what I experienced with DS... Almost to the day when my period should have come I had 2 days of spotting... I found it distressing but then spoke to my mum and she said she also had it with my brother. As for the cramping it may also be fine..I am having some horrid cramps at the mo but am not worried because this stupid nausea hasn't abated.

MrsCog · 26/07/2011 14:57

Withoutanet - I had spotting for about a week, about 10 days ago (if you go back on the thread you'll find my freak outs) and all was fine, so don't assume the worst yet. I had to wait over a weekend for my scan and it was horrible - I spent the weekend mourning a pregnancy that I'd not lost in the end, so was very surreal when all was ok. Just keep hoping.

pommedechocolat · 26/07/2011 15:26

withoutanet - how upsetting but as the others have said it may be nothing. Lots of women get spotting. Try and keep as busy as possible between then and now. Fingers crossed for you.

itsababslife · 26/07/2011 15:48

withoutanet....keeping everything crossed for you. Have a big virtual hug xxxx

BitzyVonMuffling · 26/07/2011 16:29

Posted this elsewhere, but I'm having the same as withoutanet :( Have had bleeding today, but actually it's not as bad as it first appeared )at least, that's what I'm tryign to convince myself) and is far more brown than red iyswim. Is still there when I wipe. I'm having a blood test tomorrow and another on Friday. I feel wiped out with worry. I've just been so unwell with different things the last few months I worry this baby didn't have a chance.
