Found out on sunday that were expecting our first baby in march!! Some online due date calculators say the 8th and some say the 10th so im not quite sure which one is right!!

Ive got my 1st doctors appointment tomorrow to confirm things

Has anyone else got the BFP and wants to celebrate?

sonriente that is exactly what I wanted to hear! Congrats to you too. I would love 3, but my husband is adamant that 2 is my lot!

firstduemarch09 · 24/07/2011 20:01

Hi everyone. Patiently read through all the posts. There has been a lot going on already! Guess that's what its like when your EDD is 27th of the month!!

We had a BFP on Tuesday and so now I'm 4+5. Still really early days.

Planning private scan for 7th August (day after Lollibop - anyone else going) and then it'll all seem more real.

Have got sore swollen boobs plus a couple of days of heartburn but nothing else - so far.

We are based in SE London and have a DD1 already who is 2yo. I was on the March 2009 board - with you Boobz? She was due on 11th March and came on 20th, so may be very close birthdays - silly us!

We have four chickens too (glad to see so many chicken lovers here) and also chicken sit so during the summer can have up to 10!

Looking forward to hearing all your stories over the next 8 months......

broodylicious · 25/07/2011 08:47

reallea - thanks for asking :) I had a few more hours of stomach cramps and sore boobs over the weekend but as I type, I'm feeling absolutely fine - not at all preggers or bloated. Still a bit :~ by it all but I'm feeling positive so not thinking about bad stuff.

I think I'll be getting the dreaded morning sickness this week as my sister suffered awfully when she was carrying my nephew.... bizarrely he's six weeks old and how pregnant am I? oh yeah, SIX WEEKS!! What a lovely coincidence :)

I caved in and told my sister last week. I so wanted to keep it a secret but seeing her with her baby, I just couldn't not say anything. She's mega excited now and has given me two really good books...which of course I'm having to keep a secret from my DH because he would hit the roof if he knew I've told someone!! Angry

Happy Monday everyone :) xxx

BitzyVonMuffling · 25/07/2011 10:09

Bleargh. So much for no symptoms. Am 6+2 today and have woken up feeling my head's been screwed on sideways. I haven't actually been sick yet but it's coming :( I've been convinced this one's a girl, and the sickness would tally with past experiences (with dd I had my head in the toilet for a looooong time, with ds slight nausea kicked in at about 10 weeks and lasted ooooo about a week). It feels a bit more real now. But really, if my body's listening, the no symptom thing was actually alright with me. Really. I can't even sit up straight Confused And on the first day of the summer holiday too. Bugger.

rollerbaby · 25/07/2011 10:35

We're going to Lollibop too!

Bad news on the MS Bitzy. I too had it last time from 7 weeks and as I'm 6 now, I'm expecting it any moment. Was cooking bolognese for the little one this morning and felt decidely nauseous at the raw meat. Bleurgh.

Off to have a private scan this afternoon. Fingers crossed.

broodylicious · 25/07/2011 10:37

oh Bitzy :( sounds as though you're going through it :( I wouldn't mind some more symptoms because as I say, at least it'd be proof to myself that everything is going ok. I've had sore boobs and cramping but it's all gone away now hence my panic on Friday. Funny symptoms I've got are my temperature going all over the place and a really sharp nose - in the way I can smell anything vaguely nasty (imagine my sister and mum's faces when the first thing I said when I went into both of their houses "ewww, it smells horrible in here" and they couldn't smell a thing! Felt slightly bad actually...)

With this being my first, I'm so paranoid everything is going to go wrong :(

BitzyVonMuffling · 25/07/2011 10:46

Ooo good luck with the scan honeymoo. I really want to go back to bed but I have to be somewhere in an hour. And to add insult to injury I have a very dodgy tummy :( So looks like weight gain isn't going to be an issue just yet. Yuck yuck yuck. Sometimes I just wish babies came via stork Wink

kirsty12321 · 25/07/2011 10:59

My appetite has come back massively today... I've just eaten a whole lump of Edam for a snack, awful! Smile I am also looking my massive boobs! But it means none of my tops fit me anymore, dont want to be in maternity clothes already!

broodylicious · 25/07/2011 11:18

ha ha Kirsty - I had a bit of a thing for mini Babybels last week and had to stop myself eating all six of them from the supermarket to the office!

Is this your first dc? I was thinking that if my horrid umcomfortable bloating comes back this week, I'm going to have to buy some maternity jeans because mine were just feeling so tight Shock

ShaggingProducesResults · 25/07/2011 11:25

Good luck with your scan honeymoo!

I spent most of the weekend in bed feeling bloody awful and so popped to see the Nurse this morning. She has said that unless I am throwing up and getting dehydrated they are reluctant to give me anything for the nausea but told me to take a week off work and just "chill out, read your baby books and relax"!!

I also have a feeling that the nausea is very close to morphing into actual vomiting. I hope so as at the moment I'd rather be throwing up occasionally than feeling like this!!!

kirsty12321 · 25/07/2011 11:44

Yes it is my first! Confused scared..
My mum very thoughtfully said to me yesterday 'don't buy any maternity clothes until after your scan incase there isn't a baby in there!' Sad
I can see where she's coming from but she could of thought of a better way to phrase it! But I have just got my booking appointment through for 6th august! I just can't wait to hear heart beat at the scan a few weeks after so I can reassure myself there in a baby there! (thanks mum...)

broodylicious · 25/07/2011 12:01

mums definitely have a lovely way of putting things, don't they? I haven't told mine yet but I know she'll be so excited she'll go into overdrive and come out with a load of funny stuff Grin
I've got my first midwife appt on aug 19th - I'll be in my ninth week then - and I guess she'll sort the dating scan at that meeting/write a letter to the hospital to get it arranged. I just hope that I don't have to wait around for long between the 19th and my scan because I want to use the pic to tell people our good news. My sister was 16 weeks when she had her dating scan and so she ended up just telling people at 12 weeks and then showing them the pic a bit later.

How are you all planning on telling your friends and family? I want to show them the scan pic jumbled between my latest dressage competition photos...if my scan falls correctly.

pixelpeeper · 25/07/2011 12:07

Kirsty, Shock at your mum!

Hello newbies and oldies, hope you are all well.
I have a stinking headache and nausea and the exhaustion is unreal. I took the decision over the weekend to close the business until next year and notify existing clients as I have terribly low BP and I just honestly didn't feel up to it. Felt AWFUL for letting nice people down though :(

There is something about the photography though, I CANNOT do it when pg. I try, but I am awful, and I hate it. Just the heavy gear (my camera is over 3kgs), all the up/down/being nice etc. Just can't do it. Also, don't want a repeat of last year and the stress and physical effort won't help.
Besides, I do also have a mon-fri 9-5 so it's not like I have any time to rest if I keep working at the weekend.

So... next week got my booking in appt. Hoping it goes well, and am really pleased that I have reached 8+2 without problems like last time. Every day feels like an achievement :)

kirsty12321 · 25/07/2011 12:39

I'm planning on telling my nan and just getting her to dish out the gossip to all of my disapproving family members! With friends I'm just planning to not tell and wait for them to pluck up the courage to be rude enough to ask!
I'll be 9 + 1 on my booking appointment and the midwife said it's taking approx two weeks between 1st appointment and the dating scan for where I live so hopefully should have my scan within 4 weeks! Grin

broodylicious · 25/07/2011 12:49

ha ha - I like the idea of not telling people, just waiting for them to ask! Although I couldn't not tell my family cos they've been even more broody than perhaps even me and my DH!
How come they'll be disapproving family members?

kirsty12321 · 25/07/2011 12:57

I'm only 19, this definitely wasn't a 'planned' pregnancy Blush I was on the pill and using condoms and one of those little guys forced his way through!
So i feel aunties and uncles will give me disapproving looks and tuts at the next family gathering! Although I have done 5 years of education in childcare and I'm a FT nanny so I kind of know what I'm doing with babies!

pixelpeeper · 25/07/2011 13:04

yikes Kirsty. Hopefully they won't be too disapproving.

I have told a few people. It's hard to keep it a secret when everyone I know knows I am a gym bunny that wears skinny jeans and won't eat carbs.

Suddenly I am eating cheese sandwiches, not going to the gym, wearing baggy jeans and tops (and you can still see a bump) and off work sick all the time!

NotFromConcentrate · 25/07/2011 13:36

Hi everyone Grin

This is my first visit to you lot :) I'm 6-ish weeks (I think - no period since end of May but iregular cycles) with baby number 3. This one was a bit of a surprise, but a very welcome one.

I am feeling your collective pain with the symptoms! I'm more bloated than a bloated thing, nauseous all the blooming time and totally knackered. Add to that the fact that my brain has gone AWOL and I am a total delight to live with Grin

Looking forward to getting to know you all.

pixelpeeper · 25/07/2011 14:26

Hello and welcome Concentrate!

Gosh getting busy in here

broodylicious · 25/07/2011 14:30

must've been pretty boring few months in June/July then, eh, Pixel? Grin Either that or everyone was on holiday? We conceived in Hamburg when we went to watch the boxing. I keep teasing DH by saying I'd love to call the bump Hamburger.... ;)
Blimey Kirsty - could kick off then. I hate family politics!

broodylicious · 25/07/2011 14:44

Hi Concentrate! I'm with you on the bloating - so uncomfortable :( I thought I was actually going to explode earlier! Blush

cr4zycow · 25/07/2011 16:12

Hi everyone, I'm nearly 9 weeks and expecting my 5th child at the beginning of march! This came as a HUGE surprise as i was sterilised 5 weeks ago!!! It turned out i was a week pregnant when i had the operation. How it snuck in there i'll never know as we were extremely careful before the op. Me & my partner r very happy. I had a scan to confirm everything last week but have since had a small bleed and some stomach pains but i'm still getting all the normal pregnancy symptoms, all day sickness, extreme tiredness, boobs hurting like mad so i'm hoping it's all still good in there!

Reallea · 25/07/2011 16:43

Wow cr4zy that's amazing.... Seems like you really were destined to have another....

I had to suffer the indignity of hurling in tesco's car park today. Just managed to park and open the car door... DS was fast asleep in the back.. I was mortified. And this is after I had taken the anti nausea tablets!

laabama · 25/07/2011 17:35

Evening ladies

Hope you're all ok and no one's suffering too badly. I said to a friend yesterday (who I've had to tell as I"m going away with her for 4 days this week, so not going to get away without drinking for that long!) that I wanted some more symptoms as 'proof' that things are going in the right direction...cue: felt sick all day long. Nice.

I moved house recently, so just been to register with the Dr and have discovered that Winchester (Royal Hampshire Hospital) is likely to be the one I'll go to, assuming I get that far this time! I was expecting it to be Southampton (desperately avoiding OBEM cameras... Wink ). Anyone know anything about Winchester?

Note to self: must not get too carried away yet, still very early days....(repeat to fade)!

SantaLucia · 25/07/2011 20:04

Hi to all the new people - its getting nice and full in the March corner!

I'll be 9 weeks tomorrow - very excited. Still pissed off that I don't get so much as a booking appointment until 14 weeks though. If my stomach continues to bloat like a space hopper it will be a rather tricky secret to keep. I don't remember bloating like this the first time. Its like a huge lump under my rib cage (nowhere near the baby/uterus) and it makes me look about 6 months preggers. Eugh.

Slightly celebrating the fact that I've had some more normal food yesterday and today. I just finished an iced coffee, had some brown rice and spicy chicken for dinner with sugar snap peas and I've ditched the whole white bread, bananas thing. Even managed to DTD last night. Hooray! Its nice to have some pleasures back. Off to stay with my mum and dad on Wednesday until Sunday and can't wait to have somebody on which to offload DC. Yay!

Isn't it silly that there is a slight bit of me thinking - why have my symptoms changed a bit? Is it because the bean has just gone kaput? When I'm still feeling a bit nauseous from the moment I wake up!

Pixel - good call with the work. There is no point being sore and miserable and you'll be back in the swing after the summer hols. Raella - tesco car park is a nightmare. My friend had the same problem with her pregnancies and it is impossible to imagine how horrible it all is. Wish I could do some "virtual" helping out!
