Congratulations Dyna! Gorgeous name x

Baby2b · 12/08/2011 09:47

Congratulations Dyna Smile Lovely name and very impressive weight. You sound like you are doing really well. I'm west Edinburgh so will probably go to st johns. Have to say I don't mind which as I know both hospitals are amazing. Some nct friends have had great care at eri and friends/family have been to st johns. The deciding factor was avoiding the cobbles and road bumps Blush

All good here, just some lower period pain type cramping. Think I have finally been getting braxton hicks too. My dh is full of the cold, so praying I don't get it. Don't fancy being in labour with the cold. I know it will sound stereotypical, but he is the worst patient ever!

Does anyone have any sunshine as we appear to have fast forwarded to winter here Sad

nickelbabe · 12/08/2011 10:26

congratulations Dyna - sorry you got he infection after th c-section, but you're on the mend now, I hope!

Grin

Esk - always useful having a bottle or two around in case you need to express. :)

Eskarina · 12/08/2011 10:26

We have cloudy muggy sun here. I'm contemplating doing some washing (see how exciting life has become) If I do, sods law says it will rain. On the other hand, if I wash all our bedding then surely sods law says my waters will break on it tonight???

The cat has started acting really oddly. She's not a hunter at all, yet she's just presented me with her second dragonfly (she's too wimpy to catch anything other than insects) of the day - most unusual. Maybe she knows something I don't?

nickelbabe · 12/08/2011 10:27

i thought you wantecd your waters to break? Grin

in that case, go for it!

vallinnapod · 12/08/2011 11:09

B2B I think it must be some psychosomatic thing with men as my DH also has man flu! I think he was using as an excuse to watch the cricket WFH yesterday Wink I apologise for the weather - it is all my Mum's fault - seriously, she is coming up for the festival today for a week and it is ALWAYS cold and raining when she visits Grin

I really wish I could have bub in the next week as it is just DH and I in the house, so not going to happen Smile

COAAF time is flying. I cannot believe Alba is 6 weeks!!

I refuse to buy a waterproof mattress cover with the hope the longer I delay it the more likely my waters are to go Grin

My cat is being gross too (although this is nothing new!) she is like the chief torturer of the animal kingdom. We find these huge spiders, still alive, with various limbs strewn about 6 inches away from their bodies. She has clearly lost interest and wandered off. My other too are being very clingy at the moment but again, not a huge change to normal.

NervousNelly · 12/08/2011 11:32

Yay dyna, congratulations! I read this last night but was very tired and wondered if I'd dreamt it Smile.

Hello to everyone else. Still trying to get pregnant, have had some bloods and oh has had SA, all look ok which is good I guess?

baby2b I'm pretty close to St Johns so give me a wave! And val get your mother home now Angry. We've had enough bad weather this year thanks Grin.

Hope all the viroids are well, popped or fit to burst! I really really hope I can join you soon, but my patience is wearing thin Hmm

vallinnapod · 12/08/2011 12:06

Hey Nelly! Nice to see you, good news on the tests, the more they rule out the better. I don't know about you but I felt a lot better and more in control when we started doing something about not conceiving.

Sorry about my weather jinx, she has only just left London so batten down the hatches Wink

Eskarina · 12/08/2011 12:19

Nickel I do!! Sheets are washed. But perhaps if you're doing it deliberately then the law doesn't apply? I've also scrubbed the bathroom floor and spent ages in the garden on hands and knees weeding. I'm eyeing up the kitchen floor for thisafternoon's activity Grin. DH will be pleased that the house is spotless even if Squig doesn't show up just yet.

reading back upthread Val I'd been wondering that about the mucous plug as well. But I have gone through phases of having lots of CM all through pg and it's only now that I'm symptom spotting aware that it's a possibity that I'm trying to make something of it.

I did a dance workshop last night - Bollywood moves.
It was brilliant, but oh my god! how energetic!
these Bollywood stars must be made of springs! Shock

Baby2b · 12/08/2011 12:56

nelly good luck with the tests, agreed that it feels better to be doing something about it. I will let you know how I get on at St Johns.

On the waterproof sheets front. I bought waterproof matress protectors from amazon. They were a good price and fit perfectly. However, they take away the breathability of the bed. Dh and I have been boiling. Angry (my wee hot face).

Bought a load of labour snacks yesterday and can't stop eating them. Blush

Dancing sounds like fun. It's the one thing I really miss. Normally dance about the house and have the music channel on constantly. Did amuse dh the other day by singing and dancing to the shuffling song. Had to sit and have a cuppa afterwards though.

Good luck with the sods law theory esk Smile. I am a great believer in it.

nickelbabe · 12/08/2011 13:07

Hehe at Nickel. I know the thread you were attempting to reply to though.

OP posts:
Eskarina · 12/08/2011 17:58

Oops nickel Grin

I ate a mars bar from my labour bag earlier. I am a bad person. I might need that if post-natal is as bad as a recent thread somewhere suggests.

Baby2b · 12/08/2011 18:39

I have eaten a large bag of jelly babies and feel sick Envy. They were amazing though Grin

vallinnapod · 13/08/2011 02:22

Chronic heartburn keeping me awake Sad Never had it this bad Sad I think my oesophagus may have burnt through Smile

Baby2b · 13/08/2011 10:42

Oh vallinna, it's horrid isn't it Sad. Hope you managed to get some sleep eventually. Mine always goes away when I'm eating, which has led to me having breakfast at 4am too many times. Apart from gaviscon the only other cure for me has been spearmint chewy rennies.

nickelbabe · 13/08/2011 12:35

:( vallinna

vallinnapod · 13/08/2011 13:28

Thanks ladies. It is totally hideous today too. Even eating is't helping!! Lots of dairy to try and calm it but no luck so far.

Playing mini golf later (Grin) so hopefully that will distract me!

Hope you are all having good w/es!

Baby2b · 14/08/2011 10:35

Feeling sorry for myself today. Sad Full of the cold, which Dh says I am lucky to have not got as bad as him Angry.

Was up at 4am drinking honey and lemon. On a positive note managed to get a couple of hours sleep this morning. Hope everyone else is having a better weekend.

vallinnapod · 14/08/2011 11:04

Ohhh B2B I hope you pointed out the only reason he still had both testicles connected to his body after that comment was in case you fancied DC%232?! Grin

Well, I have just sent an email to my family stating how i feel about the birth etc. I.e not telling anyone when I go into labour, not wanting visitors at the hospital if it looks like we can be home within the 6 hours etc... Hope none of them take it personally but it proceeded a massive crying meltdown on my part to DH as I was fed up of people just forgetting you are a person when you are pregnant and being all about the baby and invading your space. It was really, really upsetting me that there are just always people around. Animals eat their young in these situations... Wink
