Ha! I made it to the next thread.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
KateeTheBump · 01/08/2011 15:07

MIL is getting very frustrated as she generally has very hot hands, so hasn't really felt anything, despite trying for weeks! keep telling her to go and stick them in the freezer... Grin

Glad you're feeling a bit better this week, can sympathise with lack of sleep, I just could not get comfortable last night. Fortunately working from home today, so I can keep going for little naps Wink

Baby2b · 01/08/2011 20:38

I asked my dh for weeks if he could feel anything, every time I was sure he would be able to. Think hot hands didn't help. Kicks that felt big to me, got no reaction from Dh. It is meant to be your special time with little one Hmm, but I couldn't wait to share either.

Had a lovely wander round the botanic gardens today. Was nice to get some exercise (with the option of a bench always close by). Hoping I will sleep well tonight.

Three weeks until due date!

Anyone else been up to anything nice?

Eskarina · 02/08/2011 07:57

Only 3 weeks baby? Could be any time now then!
I'm exactly 38 weeks today so in theory 2 weeks to go. Seeing the midwife today.

It was hot yesterday! I was tempted to go out in the car simply to put the air conditioning on!

nickelbabe · 02/08/2011 10:02

DH has had very hot hands and arms this week. It's really, really hot outside, and he's in it all day, which doesn't help.

i'm sure it'll come, I just have to be patient. :)

3 weeks to due date Baby Grin

You lot are really moving on! I feel like i'm lagging behind Grin

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 02/08/2011 11:52

You need some more graduates to keep you company Nickel. Mind you if you think it's quiet here, yu should see the Just Mumming thread. Tis dead!

OP posts:
KateeTheBump · 02/08/2011 12:08

I'm still here nickel Wink and will be for at least another 10 weeks, probably getting more desperate as time goes on! We need to lure bambam over here, she's being very shy...

nickelbabe · 02/08/2011 12:17

ah, good!
Grin

I'm getting excited because I realised today that on Saturday, this pg will be viable :)

KateeTheBump · 02/08/2011 12:19

Is it not already? Confused I thought it would be from ages ago?

nickelbabe · 02/08/2011 12:20

not surprised it's quiet - i can't find it! Shock

KateeTheBump · 02/08/2011 12:24

just mumming

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 02/08/2011 12:40

Do you mean viable as in baby could survive if it comes early? That's an exciting milestone to hit Grin (though obviously you want baby to stay put for longer)

OP posts:
nickelbabe · 02/08/2011 14:06

yes, that's what i mean. Grin
I want it to stay put until the correct ime Grin

nickelbabe · 02/08/2011 14:17

(24 weeks is the official viable time, Katee)

ooh, that just mumming thread is scary.
don't want to think about it yet! Shock

although, my plans for the first few weeks go:
baby born on saturday night
back to work on monday (with baby permanently attached to me)
work for 2 weeks (or however long it is) until the christmas school holidays start, then saturday girl takes over for 3 ish weeks until she goes back to uni.
in that time I will spend most of the time sleeping Grin

this is going to be very hard work....

KateeTheBump · 02/08/2011 15:14

Not what you'll want to hear my dear, but there such a thing as 2 weeks compulsory maternity leave... you might have to send DH in to run the shop instead!

Mind you, if you time it right and go over by two weeks you should be sorted? Grin

nickelbabe · 02/08/2011 15:30

DH has been told he'll be helping in the shop during his paternity leave.
we've i've decided that I'll basically be in the building, but will spend most of the time upstairs feeding and napping.
I might make him change al lthe nappies in return for being on the till....

my 2 weeks was including the 2 weeks over. it takes me to the 11th december (42 weeks)
Grin

vallinnapod · 02/08/2011 23:47

I've lost 3 long posts now :( Twice from my phone, once on my computer so keeping this short and sweet.

Hope everyone is well and that Dyna-baby has entered the world.

MAt leave has been busy so far trying to get the work on the new house organised. Did nada today to make up for rushing around on Monday. Going back down to see it tomorrow with the Kitchen designer. Quite exciting but just want to be somewhere and nesting properly :)

Eskarina · 03/08/2011 08:16

V exciting about house Val. Is it all signed and sealed that it's yours?

Having spent Monday chasing around our local "big" town in a fruitless search for wicker baskets to go on my changing table, I wandered into our little town centre after the midwife appt yesterday and found exactly what I wanted in the first shop I went in. Should've just started there really.

Midwife was very unexciting. Baby is 3/ 5 engaged. It's lying on the right side (as in not left) which I was concerned about but clearly it's not a problem as I had to ask about it. MW seemed unconcerned and just said that babies turn (or not Hmm ) in their own time and I could spend 1/2 an hour each day draped over my ball. It probably won't help but at least I'll feel like I'm doing something. Double Hmm

vallinnapod · 03/08/2011 09:08

Nearly Esk - just transferred an eye watering amount of money to our solicitors so that we can exchange. This will mean we are legally bound so can (safely) put down deposits on kitchen and bathroom even though we don't complete until 2 Sept. Good job I have this to concentrate on to stop willing the baby here Grin

3/5 is impressive - I don't think they can pop out after that can they? We have MW this Monday. I am hoping for similar news. What week are you now?

On that front my loose leaf RLT arrived today (ended up buying it through Amazon as no health food shop near me had the loose stuff!) It tastes completely different to the bags. They taste like fruit tea, this tastes a lot more like green tea.

Had plenty of BH yesterday and also had a great birth story from a friend. Waters breaking, no contractions immediately, baby here in 4.5 hours. I asked her to tell it loudly to the bump, several times! Bit period painy again too...can only hope this means things are moving in the right direction. Better get on with the Epi-No Shock

Eskarina · 03/08/2011 09:38

Interesting that you're putting money down when you exchange. I seem to remember we didn't give money until we completed. Or maybe I'm forgetting. I know there was some confusion because we wanted to pay more than a 10% deposit and no-one seemed to know what to do with the extra money! Hope the sale all goes smoothly. I don't envy you doing all this at 9 months pg. It was enough of an effort to repaint our kitchen!

It'd better not pop out now! (well, not going back up anyway. It can pop out out any time it likes Grin) I'm 38 weeks. I've been getting period-y type pains for a while now and keep getting hopeful. We tried perineal massage again last night. How the hell does that lead to a bit of JS? It was bloody painful not at all enjoyable.

I don't think I'd cope with drinking funny-tasting tea so I'm on RLT capsules (reduced in Holland and Barret at the mo)

Forgot to say DH and I finally managed to have a conversation about names. I surprised myself by not being bothered that the names I liked have shot up in popularity over the last few years. I was adamant I wanted a name outside the top 100 (though this is harder for boys than girls) but still a nice "normal" name. A boy will be Isaac James (couldn't get DH to go with Zachary then the first of my NCT group to pop called their's Zachary anyway). A girl will be Imogen ??? (still haven't agreed on a middle name - I'm gunning for Imogen Grace, but as everything else has gone my way I think I'll have to let DH have more of a say for the middle.) Unfortunately DH has got it mixed up with Isobel and keeps asking me what our DD is called. I can just see the birth announcement text he sends out now...."We have a daughter. it's not called Isobel and we haven't decided on a middle name yet. Arrived 12.02pm. 6lb10" Grin Grin

KateeTheBump · 03/08/2011 10:06

I hope dyna's ok

Grin at your DH getting confused about the name Esk.

I keep meaning to google perineal massage, but never quite dare... how do you do it? Confused

vallinnapod · 03/08/2011 10:42

Most people exchange and complete pretty close together (when we sold it was the same day for us!) hence normally only parting with cash nearer the time.

Katee there is a good YouTube video on perineal massage with a lovely latex fanjo Grin Esk well done on making it a group activity Grin there was no way I was getting DH involved! TBH I have found the Epi No far, far easier to stretch the fanjo, I got bored with perineal massage after a couple of minutes. Much easier for me to be lazy lying there while a balloon does all the work!

LOL at the names! I have written our birth announcement for DH with red bits for weight, time and date that he needs to change - just to avoid any confusion!!

nickelbabe · 03/08/2011 11:01

Grin at names.
DH has been fully versed as to our name choices (for 1st, 2nd and 3rd girls and 1st and 2nd boys - i'll be screwed if we end up having 3 boys! Shock), and I test him regularly (because spelling's important too)

i haven't managed to persuade him that isbn's surname should be the same as my surname. he still wants the amalgamation....

NervousNelly · 03/08/2011 18:05

Just wanted to post a quick hello and apologise for the lack of new gradsBlush. I'm trying my best, both in terms of shagging and keeping the thread going! But to no avail on the JSing front, and barely keeping the thread going either. No new blood in ages Sad.

Maybe those who are Just Mumming need to get back to Just Shagging! I miss the viroids and stalk read the thread all the time. Keep fingers crossed for some newbies on the JS thread and some grads to come across here Smile.

Good luck with the soon to be arriving babies. Love-ya xx Wink

Baby2b · 03/08/2011 18:05

Oooh, exciting being 3/5 esk. My little one is still floating above pelvis.

Val will be good to start choosing kitchens etc. One step closer to your new place.

I'm officially in denial about perennial massage. Just can't make myself do it Blush Going to regret it I know Sad. have chosen a name though, dh and I have both decided on Ethan (middle name to be confirmed). Yes, I am still focusing on the nice things rather than the reality of labour!

Hope all the new mums are doing well?! Are your little ones sleeping better at night brassica? How are you getting on ttl and coaf?

Baby2b · 03/08/2011 18:07

Cross posted nelly. You are always welcome on this thread. How are the jsing tactics going? Was speaking to a friend the other day who has been jsing since January, felt very tempted to mention ramikins Grin
