melly i hope poppy sleeps for you abit more soon. i can never sleep in the day and am really hoping this new baby sleeps well.

been to see the midwife yet again today, she seems satisfied that i dont have high blood pressure so not going to see her for 2 weeks now, got scan on monday though so will be checked all again then!

i have had no electric at home all day today so have tried to do some non-electrical jobs. i put up blackout liners in our bedroom as i am sick of being woken about half 4, then built the under cot storage basket, which was about half the size i thought it was, then built the moses basket stand!! it doesnt fold like its ment to and i had a screw left over but it looks lovelyGrin

MadKatz · 28/06/2011 19:47

Hi ladies, hope you're all well. Congrats melly, poppy is beautiful. Still very hot here, recent strong winds have prevented the hotel putting any brollies up by the pool, so it's been very hard sitting out without getting burnt to a crisp!
Sounds like it's been hot back in the uk too?
X

KLou111 · 28/06/2011 20:29

Glad you're having a great time Madkatz

Sounds like you've been busy Liz

Been lovely here today, managed to get 4 loads of washing out!! Well, at least something can benefit from it, we've been stuck in doing the house.

But, alas! Just got the curtains up in the 3rd bedroom, carpet fitter been out to measure up and had it not been for a tiny burn hole from our fire (about 1/2 inch to the side of where the sodding rug was!) we could have got both the landing and bedroom out of it, but can only doing landing now. Have to go to carpet right tomorrow and try and get a cut off or something, and carpet man going to fit it tomorrow afternoon hurrah!!

Have our first AN class in the morning, so got the morning 'off' but then it's just the bathroom ceiling, 2 bedroom doors and surrounds, and nursery and painting well and truly DONE!

Cot and mattress turned up here, very Grin. Bless DH, he said, bloody hell, it's tiny, and made an eek sort of face lol. It's so cute :) Slightly lighter than the other furniture, but doesn't matter. Can't wait to build it all and put it in. Fingers crossed we can empty the nursery Thursday so I can pain Friday, as the other room doesn't smell too bad for my mum and dad. I'll have to get a plug in smelly thing :) Be nice to get it done before they come.

klou its going to be like living in a new house by the time you have done!

are your mum and dad just coming to visit or is it a special occasion?

we are going to a party in rotherham on saturday night, i have booked us into a hotel for the night where the party is at. i am looking forward to it, i am wearing a maxi dress which does nothing at all to hide my belly, but i dont really want to hide itGrin i wouldnt wear anything like it usually as it would emphasize all my usual lumps and bumps, but feel i can in my 'condition'!

KLou111 · 29/06/2011 16:19

Not a special occasion Liz they just wanted to come up before bubs arrived, also DH going back to the midlands this weekend so perfect timing as he didn't want to leave me alone and they'll be no work going on lol!!
Carpet fitter in as we speak :) Bought a bit of carpet off the roll and only cost £38! only a cheapy one, but it's guest room so no point spending a fortune.
Maxi dresses are lovely in our 'condition' aren't they? You'll look fab :)

Had first AN class this morning. DH had to walk out 30 mins in as he was all queasy (and he walked into a stack of chairs outside the room which I heard!) He had to go and get a bar of choc. He better be OK on the flaming day!! To be fair though, it was VERY warm in the room so that didn't help. The lady sitting next to him also looked a bit off and on talking to her afterwards she said she did feel ill. Lovely lady, her husband coming to the class next time as he had to work, and we're going to all go for a cuppa afterwards so that'll be nice :)
Bit miffed as not only have the classes been delayed a month due to understaffing, but they are now every fortnight instead of weekly so the last one is 10th August, the day before my due date!! They lady we met is due that day, so she said we'll have to race for the birthing pool! I told her I'd happily share lol!!!

Soooo tired!! Just want to curl up in bed and sleeeep!!

Hope you are all ok.

madkatz glad u r having a nice time.

klou that's a bit crappy that your classes end then!! That's a bit useless! Can you get on another group somewhere else!

Liz you will look lovely in your maxi dress. :)

melly hope you and Poppy are doing ok.

gruffalo hope you are ok too.

My friend had her baby yesterday (we started ttc at the same time)
I WANT OCTOBER TO BE HERE NOW!!!

lizandlulu · 29/06/2011 19:07

eerrggghhh klou you do know that most people crap whne pushingGrin share the pool if you like, but you might want to get a little fishing net to fish the bits outGrin Grin Grin

iwish this weahter doesnt help i find, you cant sleep properly at night so you must feel even more knackered. i am not sleeping brilliantly, keep having to move to get comfy.

I WANT TO SLEEP ON MY FRONT AGAIN!!!!!

Iwish · 29/06/2011 19:17

Hahahaha Liz at the poo!! Grin Grin
Sleeping at night is awful! I wake up at least 6 times a night either needing a wee or because I'm uncomfortable or my pelvis is hurting. Can't win! Come October I'm so going to enjoy laying on my back and front!!

lizandlulu · 29/06/2011 20:08

i used to lay on my back a little, not so much now tho cause it makes me feel sick if i do for more than 2 mins.

i am starting to feel sick about half 10 in the mornings too. just ramdom nausea to add to the list of crappy things to do with being pregnant.

(i swore i wasnt going to complain when it took so long to get pregnantGrin)

Iwish · 29/06/2011 21:31

Strange that you feel sick all of a sudden. Wonder why that's started. I still get it the odd times in a morning but it goes as quick as it starts.

Aaargh why are men so, stupid?!! I asked dp to pass me 2 things while we were sorting our lunches out for tomorrow and to cut a long story short he's stormed off upstairs shouting and sulking like a child! Just no need.

lizandlulu · 29/06/2011 21:41

i know, sometimes it feels like i have already got 2 kids to look afterHmm

Iwish · 29/06/2011 21:46

Tell me about it. He's been sulking up there since about 5 past 9.

My mum has started getting a little more excited now I think. She has been out today and bought bubba 2 pairs of little shoes, 2 tops, a pair of pants, a Cardigan and a shorts and tshirt set lol. Bless her. Her and my dad went to the Trafford centre and spent most of their time looking at baby stuff :)

Iwish · 29/06/2011 21:48

Awww melly I've just seen the last 2 pics you have put up of Poppy. She Is sooo cute Grin

KLou111 · 29/06/2011 22:39

I was only joking about sharing the pool, muppet!

I can't wait to sleep on my front either, been sleeping on my back in the middle of the night, but find it wakes me up with a funny feeling and I have to move onto my side. The right side is most comfy.

Lovely your parents are getting excited now Iwish :)

Re the AN class, TBH, most of what she spoke about I already had read about, so the class was pretty crap anyway, so don't think I'd miss much if I didn't even go, but I will go. Only interested in breastfeeding anyway, and how long I'd have to be in hospital lol! If straightforward, was told we could be out in 2 hours! But it depends if I want to stay in to establish feeding.

Carpet looks loooooooovely, so pleased. Emptying nursery on Friday as a lot of it needs to go back to the Midlands and DH wants to pack the car then, so hoping can start it Friday afternoon :) Not getting my hopes up though.

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 30/06/2011 09:21

ahh lovely about your mum iwish mine hasnt bought anything for my baby, probably cause she dont know what colour to buy tho.

klou my right side is most comfy too. i keep hearing that the left side is best for circulation, but i just want to be comfy!

we went to antenatal classes too when i was pg first time, well we only went the once, dh wouldnt go back cause it was full of hippy types! i had her the next week anywayGrin

Iwish · 30/06/2011 13:15

Glad you like your new carpet klou bet it looks all shiney and new now :)
Flippin eck 2 hours is a quick turn around! My friend had her daughter on Tuesday at 10:30am and came hone yesterday but that's because little one wasnt doing that great with the breast feeding because she was a bit doped up bless her.
And yeh I'm so happy they are getting more excited, makes me feel so much happier.

Liz I bet your mum will go mad buying things when bubba arrives. She might want to but pink or blue.
Yeh I've been told left is the best side so I try to lay that way as much as I can. Have to go onto my right when I got uncomfortable tho.

Well I have heartburn and it's not nice! I have left my gaviscon at home too :(
On a positive note I'm off work next week, woohoo!! And when I go back I only have 8 weeks to work! Yippee!

lizandlulu · 30/06/2011 14:14

can you nip out of work and get come rennies or milk? i have had it most of the day now and been drinking milk like nobodys business. just sips, but all day long sips!

also been gettong ALOT of what i think are braxton hicks, the midwife says they are. just my bump goes rock hard, but its like ALL DAY. well most of the day. its definatly hard more than it is soft. feels really uncomfortable. like i have got to carry boulder about with me.

KLou111 · 30/06/2011 22:46

lol liz boulder. No more BH here since Take That, if it was even a braxton!

Heartburn is NOT good is it??? I just drink milk too.

Well, cracked on today, and I emptied the nursery Grin sorted it into stuff to go into the attic, which is now on the landing until DH puts it up tomorrow, and stuff in lounge to go to Midlands. Have painted the ceiling and first coat on walls. 2nd coat tomorrow, and hoping to build furniture tomorrow too so it's done for when DH goes and mum and dad come.
3rd bedroom looks lovely now the bed is in :)
I can't begin to tell you haw excited I am to get it all done finally. Still a bit gutted we couldn't have white furniture, as think it would have looked so much nicer, but it's like DH said, we live in a barn at the end of the day, and the room has a beam in it so it'll go with that. Mum and dad are bringing everything they have for bubs at their house (knitting, nappies, bath stuff, sheep teddy etc) so will hopefully have the wardrobe up so can put it all. Bloody Argos have let me down, meant to have had the changing until by now (23rd June latest), but they've delayed it til 13th July!!
Will put some piccies up when done :)

yay internets back! Have to MN by phone now though as i don't really get enough time to set up the laptop. You're really cracking on klou! I bet you'll be so relieved when you're all finally finished. Liz im sure your dp will shape up once baby arrives. What are men like eh? iwish how are the leg cramps? Sorry for the lack of paragraphs, bit hard to do them on my phone lol!

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 01/07/2011 11:11

crikey just realised, this time 2 weeks ago i was in labour! By the way iwish im so pleased your mum is getting excited!

lizandlulu · 01/07/2011 13:13

hiya melly how are you feeling? do you feel recovered from the actual birth?

your poppy is just gorgeous. i thought of you yesterday, i was in the supermarket car park and there was a car with the number plate that read poppys' i cant remember how they had done it, buti t looked really goodGrin

this bloody heartburn wants to do one now. i have had it constantly since yesterday afternoon. i went and got some strawberry gaviscon tablets to keep in my bag for then i cant get any milk, i thought they would be soft and chewy as it said chewable on the box, nope, hard tablets to chew. but they are not the worst ting in the world. bit like odd sweets! had one about 11 and its worked for a couple of hours, its just starting to come back, time to pop another!

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 01/07/2011 14:34

I'm fine now thanks liz, it stung to pee for about a week and then felt like i'd been hit by a bus down there, still a little achey but otherwise im absolutely fine! That registration sounds amazing! I'd have loved to have seen it. I didnt like those strawberry gaviscon tablets, i preferred fruity rennies. How are you getting on besides the heartburn? Also, did you have a good birthday?

Iwish · 01/07/2011 18:33

Hey!

Have you had any more BH today liz or is all quiet? Rubbish that you have heartburn too. I've only had it a bit today but I took my massive gaviscon to work lol.

klou how are you getting on with your mad decorating today?

welcome back melly! eeek stinging to pee! Have you been doing the 'peeing in the bath while spraying the shower head to stop the pain' lol?
Leg cramps seem to have stayed away but it seems that I now have SPD! Feckin great. Oh and my feet keep swelling so they currently look like the child of the mitchelin man! I don't want to moan about my pregnancy! I want to have a pain free pregnancy and this 'glowing' thing I hear so much about.
And now for a moan- I went to the doctors today about the pain and all he said was yes that sounds like SPD and printed me off something about how to do pelvic floor exercises. Will that help?? I wanted a bit more help than that!!

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 01/07/2011 18:57

hey iwish, i hate to tell you but it burns when the head starts to come out! I did the 'pouring a jug of warm water over bits while peeing' much easier than sitting in the bath with the shower head lol! Try and get a waterbirth, my sister had spd and had a waterbirth with her 2nd, she said it really helped with her hips. Other than that i dont really know anything that you can do during pregnancy. Apparantly those long body pillows are good for spd i've heard.
