Might be SPD Iwish
Oooo exciting day again for you tomorrow :)

Iwish · 24/06/2011 20:34

Might make an appt with the dr next week, don't think I fancy waiting for midwife appt in 3 weeks. Do they do anything with SPD?
Yeh exciting weekend, we are ordering the furniture too hehe.

Have you got anything planned? Or are you going to be decorating like a mad woman Grin

KLou111 · 24/06/2011 20:37

Nothing planned but decorating lol as carpet fitter in next week, and mum and dad coming next weekend so want to try and get most of it done by then :)
Wardrobe turned up yesterday, just got to order the cot and mattress now :)

Oooh it's all coming together isn't it! Everything will look lovely by next weekend when your mum and dad come Grin Have you decided where you are getting your cot and mattress from?

Thanks for the link, looks similar to the pain I'm getting. Finding it really hard over the last few days to walk anywhere. I get up from my desk to go to the loo and walk like an old woman in pain but by the time I got back to my desk it isn't as bad.

lizandlulu · 24/06/2011 20:52

iwish i had slight SPD when pg with lulu, i did alot of walking at the racing one weekend and the next day could hardly get out of bed. i cant remember the exact feeling, but it was very sore in my bones when i walked. i remember the midwife saying to get out of bed while keeping your legs together, swing them over the edge then sit up rather than putting one leg first.
also to try and got hold of some supportive pants or bands to try and take abit of the weight of your bump upwards.

what size are you? i bought some supportive pants off a lady on here (she swore she had wore them over her usual underwear and one brand new pair) but when i got them they are nowhere near fitting me. they are supposed to be a size 18 but i cant wear them and would put them more at a 14-16. you are welcome to them if you wnat to try them? they are in the charity shop bag as we speakSmile

KLou111 · 24/06/2011 20:56

Just ordered cot and mattress :)
Got cot off ebay, was cheaper than amazon til this week (only £3 in it, but it all counts lol!) cot
Mattress got off amazon mattress

it hurts like heck Liz lol! It only came on this week. Most of the pain is at the front very low down under my bump. Did you have it all the way through?
I'm a size 14 and willing to try anything lol! I'm going to make an appt with the dr next week and see if he confirms it as SPD. If so what do you want for them?

Cot is lovely klou and the mattress looks like a good one. Bet you can't wait to get it it all in bubbas room. And yeh you are right, £3 makes all the difference lol.

Can't wait to see mellys pics!

lizandlulu · 24/06/2011 21:44

nice cot klou

my pain was low down under bump too, message me your address and i will get htem sent to you, if they are no good you can always chuck them, but worth a try.

my pain was a few weeks away from the end and once i rested abit more it wasnt too bad. i hope your doesnt get worse. there is a few other threads on here with people who suffer from it if you want more help and advice

lizandlulu · 25/06/2011 22:17

well i dont know if i am having these braxton hicks or what, this stitch is still here although not all the time, and keep getting pains across the top of my bump, also at the bottom when i move alot like getting in the car.

also (TMI) but have had about 12 craps in the last 2 daysHmm whats that all about???

lizandlulu · 25/06/2011 22:17

ohh iwish how did the 4d scan go again?

Iwish · 25/06/2011 23:09

Liz you just made me laugh with the 12 craps in 2 days!!! I wish I could have a few more craps haha!
Not sure about your stitch Is related to the BH. Maybe just check with your MW. It's probably one of those wierd totally normal things that happens! How has your day been?

Yeh the scan went lovely. Got to see my little man again and got a DVD but he did spend most of it sucking his thumb.
We also went shopping with my mum and nan and we have now purchased a cot bed, wardrobe, drawers, swing, Moses basket and stand, cellular blanket and 2 canvas pictures that go with the bedding we bought last week lol.
Thanks re the support pants too by the way. I'm going to make an appt with my doc next week and see what he says and I may very well message you my address hehe.

KLou111 · 26/06/2011 16:33

LMAO Liz, know what you mean though, I've been going about 3 times a day lol!! Dying for a wee sometimes and just a drop comes out, so obviously bubs is jumping on my bladder! Went out last night for a few drinks with DH and a curry take away which was good. Went to the loo in the pub, washed my hands, walked out the door, and had to go back in and have another wee!! Was knackered last night TBH after my day of painting, but we've got to make the most of it!

Glad you got to see your little man again Iwish :) What swing did you get?
I'm looking for a bouncy chair at the mo and have found a fisher price one (link a doos I think it's called) infant to toddler, but the reviews are really bad, and hte baby can rock itself out!! Want a good one that will last. Didn't get as moses basket in the end, going to wait til bubs is here as the pram we bought (the matrix light one), we got a mattress for it, so going to use that at first, as we're swaying to putting the baby straight in his/her nursery.

Painting going well. Had to put 4 coats, yes 4 COATS!! on newly plastered stuff, so lounge ceiling now done, 1 more coat to do on walls of lounge, stairs and landing which I'll do tomorrow. Have glossed bathroom door and surround, and put 2 coats on 3rd bedroom ceiling so will put the other 2 on tomorrow and start the walls in there. Bathroom ceiling not dry yet. Finally looking like we're getting somewhere. Decided to do a feature wall in the lounge behind the stove, the same colour as the new sofas (burgundy). We got a sample of the colour, so will try and match up with it :)

THEN, IT'S THE NURSERY!!!! Hopefully we can get it emptied Thursday/Friday and crack on, but don't really want my mum and dad staying in a room freshly painted cos it'll stink, so may not change the rooms around til next week :)

Hello all how is everyone doing? Just a quick message as I'm heading off to bed. We're all doing well, feedings going well although it gets hard at night when I'm the only one who has to get up, and she won't stop feeding for about an hour and I'm literally propping my eyes open, simons been brilliant, really been looking after me, except he refuses to changes nappies so I have to do that too. I kind of dread the nights because Poppy takes ages to feed and I end up sitting up awake for about an hour and a half feeding, winding, feeding, winding, changing, putting back into bed then 5 minutes later, feeding, winding, changing then putting back into bed.

My profile has somehow been reset and all my old pics and everything on my profile have vanished Hmm there are a couple of pics of poppy up and it's now public.

Oh by the way, I didn't get a waterbirth in the end. I had to be monitored because of the colour of my waters, yellowy sort of weird colour. If you've ever fried chicken breast and bacon together it was the colour of the fatty liquid you get from that.

Anyway, I'll be back either tomorrow or tuesday and I'll read through all the past posts and I'll have some input :o

Talk to you all soon xxx

lizandlulu · 27/06/2011 08:18

ahh melly shes gorgeousSmile

cant stop and chat now cause got to gert lulu to school but come back later

Iwish · 27/06/2011 13:40

klou we were debating on getting the Moses basket or not but my nan bought it so couldn't refuse hehe Grin.
This is the swing we got, looks fairly good and thought it would keep him quiet for a little while. Maybe you should stay away from that one then if baby can bounce themselves out of it!
4 coats on newly plastered stuff, wow bet that took you forever. Bet you can't wait to start on the nursery now.

melly she is beautiful!! Hope you are trying to get some rest when poppy is sleeping and get Simon trained on those nappies lol! Look forward to speaking to you soon x

GruffaloMama · 27/06/2011 14:13

melly she's so beautiful - well done you! feeding is really tiring in the first few weeks but it does get easier. Good to hear Simon is helping - though I'd get him on those nappies Wink. I hope you're getting some naps in at other times when Poppy lets you...

Iwish that totally sounds like SPD. I have it now and had it with DS too. Your GP should refer you to a physio who'll give you some of the exercises etc that Klou linked through to and probably a support band. You might find sitting on a birth ball easier than the sofa too. I've been doing some antenatal yoga as well which seems to have helped. For me, though, the main thing is trying not to do too much - like Liz said if I overdo it one day the next day I'm crippled the next.

Klou you are amazing - you've done so much! Our hall needs painting if you get bored when it's all done.

Best go - we're off up north tomorrow and I want to make sure I've packed everything for my labour bag, the post-natal bag, and my normal travel stuff... and DS and DH and the dog.

Iwish · 27/06/2011 17:23

Hi gruffalo I think I will make a GP appt this week then. It's been a lot better today and have been able to get up and move around without it hurting. Could you have a normal birth with you DS because of it?
Oooh and where you going up north? :)

lizandlulu · 27/06/2011 17:44

hiya all, how are you all? how are you coping in this heat? sorry to be a killjoy and all that but i cant stand it. i hate the heat at the best of times, never mind when i am this pregnant.

it makes me feel ill. i tried to have an hour on the sofa this aft but woke up feeling worse than ever and had a headacheSad

GruffaloMama · 27/06/2011 18:12

Hi liz - I'm hating the heat too. Have been trying not to keel over most of the day - first day of my mat leave and have had DS at home so have had to run round after him. We've just stayed at home with him in his nappy and nothing else and the paddling pool to cool down in. I even had him water my feet earlier on!!! I think it's supposed to break tonight though. think you're near lincoln? We in Cambs so due to get the rain about the same time I reckon.

Iwish I reckon I'd get to the GP this week if you can, as the sooner you start any treatment the better. I did have a normal-ish birth with DS - it was induced but that wasn't because of the SPD. I ended up with forceps because I was shattered from the induction and he had a massive head and got stuck. That wasn't great because of the SPD (legs in stirrups are bad for SPD) but better than an EMCS given how far I'd got. But have had some really good support from the Physio this time - she's given me info about positions for labour and birth. Basically 'all fours' positions or supported positions in water etc are good. And even if I do need stirrups this time she told me that they can adjust them to make them narrower - I didn't realise that last time.

We're off to Darlington as DH's parents are getting married (his mum and stepdad). Will be good but not looking forward to the journey... and really don't want to go into labour up there. Should be okay as we'll be back on Friday when I'll be 37 weeks. Keep your fingers' crossed for me Wink

lizandlulu · 27/06/2011 19:54

fingers crossed for you then gruffaloSmile

yes this weather is supposed to break tonight here, ment to be having thunder storms. it tried to rain earleir, but all it did was spit for ten mins and thats it.

i had my legs in stirrups when i had dd and throughly hated it. i hated the fact that i didnt really have anything to push against. i am definatly going to try an all fours position this time, if i am able to give birth naturally. scan is a week today to see when position this baby is in.

KLou111 · 27/06/2011 20:03

Oh Melly Poppy is beautiful!!!! So glad we can finally see your photos and that you are coping well. Sort Simon with the nappies though like the others have said!! I've got a deal with my DH, and that is if I am feeding the baby at all hours, he's to do the nappies. He didn't argue lol!

Iwish defo get into the docs if you're feeling shitty and in pain, that's all you need. Love the swing :)

Gruffalo keep your legs crossed!! But try and have a great time. We're missing 2 weddings in August, gutted (but not at the same time :) )

Liz Sorry the weather is getting you down. It has been bloody hot! Our windows haven't got bottom latches on at the moment, so they just swing when open, and one blew that hard yesterday, it loosened the hinge so I've been banned from opening them!! I did try and jam a wooden wedge in, but didn't work. So it has been very hot in our house!

Nearly there paint wise, 2 more coats on 3rd bedroom walls to go, and bathroom ceiling :) Got the curtains back up in the lounge this evening and cleaned all around where paint had splatted the windows. Carpet man out tomorrow evening to measure up to check we can use lounge carpet, so all coming together at last :)

Cot and mattress on their way, ordered this playmat last night so should get it this week too. oooooooo soooooo excited!!!!

Melly20MummyToPoppy · 27/06/2011 20:31

She may be beautiful, but she's a little monster at 1o'clock in the morning when all she wants to do for 2 hours is feed :o I can't wait till she's sleeping through. Simon changed a nappy earlier Shock:o! Although it was only because I nipped to the post office and she weed and it leaked out onto the sofa Hmm

klou sounds like you're really getting on! Washable sofa covers sounds like a good idea to me, especially if Bella finds any more pens :o How many weeks have you got left to go? Can't be many now!

Same with you Liz, there's 10 days between you and Klou isn't there? I'm glad chris put the cot up for you when you wanted it done! Ours is still in bits :o

Iwish I hope your spd doesn't get too bad, my sister had it really bad with both of hers and it was worse with the second, she could hardly walk some days and she still has problems with her hips sometimes even now, and her youngest is 2.5! Try and go for a waterbirth, my sister did and she said it really helped with her hips. Your scan pictures are really amazing, I bet you can't wait to meet him!

I hope you're having a fantastic holiday Madkatz, I'm so jealous, I'd love a holiday, no chance of one this year now though! Anyway I really hope you have a brilliant time :)

Anyway sorry for the long post! There's a lot to catch up on! I won't be back for at least a week as I won't have any internet. Talk to you all soon! xxx

KLou111 · 27/06/2011 21:01

6 weeks left as of Thursday melly eeeeeeeek! Getting close!!
