Started TTC in August 2010, 1 has popped, 3 nearly there and 2 over halfway!

Evening Ladies,

No news here...and I'm very frustrated now! Going into maternity tomorrow to discuss induction. Hopefully won't have to wait too long before LO gets here, one way or another.

Feel like a zombie today. Joshua was awake till 3am! Then was awake from 6:20 till 7:00 ish then awake at 9:00. DP took him downstairs at 10:15 ish and let me sleep. Not that I've spelt much as you can see :(.

I know I keep banging on about it but I really recommend the Gina Ford contented baby book. I've had Euan on it since 3 weeks, now 8 weeks and we had a second night of (almost) sleeping through!!! Woke at 4.45am with a full nappy gave him a 5 min feed cos he woke up once I'd changed him, then straight off. He chuntered for about 10 min but I didn't go back to him and he went off himself til 8.15!!! Went to bed at 8pm, woke for feed at 11.45 before that.
He's only woken once in the night since he's been on a routine too.

Just off to vet as Bella has ripped her chest open in barbed wire, poor thing.

Oh madkatz after your sweep i thought LO would be here by now! How did your chat about induction go?

iwish it does get better, i've had a few nights where poppy will just not sleep and just wants to eat constantly. Also had quite a lot of nights where she'll only sleep on our bed. It's so tiring but it DOES get better! :)

I'm going to get some of those calendars too, one for just about everyone we know i reckon :o

Poppys got her 16 week jabs tomorrow, the worst ones of all as she has to have 3! 2 are at the same time though bless her :(

Well the chat went well and then the registrar did one hell of a sweep!

He's expecting labour to start on its own now within 48 hours and if it doesn't happen I am booked in for induction on Thursday

oh and we went to the library yest and lulu borrowed a book called stroppy poppy!

klou hows bella?? poor thing! we have yet another dog, but this one is actually cute and coems in the hosue and doesnt make a mess. its tiny, lulus called it skippy its a rough haired terrier of some sort, really short.

well violet went to bed last night at 9pm!! she did cry for about 20 mins, but she was tired so i left her in the cot and kept going to her. iwish see it does get better, a few weeks ago she wasnt going to bed till 11-12 and now its 9-10.

and shes been very nearly giggling today!!! you dont have to beg her for smiles anymore, i get them all the time, and she was trying her hardest to laught but cant quite get enough sound out

liz the jabs (im assuming you mean jabs and not jobs :o ) went ok, except now I have a very stroppy poppy :o the nurse said she could see 2 front bottom teeth coming through!! i can't see them, although she won't open her mouth long enough for me to check :o ! Violet trying to laugh sounds so cute! It's good that she's getting better at sleeping too.

madkatz i hope you pop soon! Whether you start on your own or get induced at least LO will be here by the weekend! Good luck :)

I have bought the book off eBay. Cost me £2.95 second hand :). Hopefully will get Joshua into a routine.

I hope it gets better soon melly. He's being very fussy feeding and going down at night. He is awake at night too and asleep during the day! He thinks he's an owl!

Joshua has been feeding every 1 - 1 1/2 hours today! He's has had such a pathetic amount that he's hungry really quickly. How can I make him take more? Oh and then he spits most of it out anyway!

iwish i keep meaning to ask, how is your spd now? And your feet?

SPD has completely disappeared melly! really pleased. In fact it went as soon as I had him. My feet are back to normal now too, I even had my ugg boots on the other day

Have you got Poppy a Halloween outfit?

Going back to the hospital tomorrow for help trying to get Joshua to latch onto the breast rather than the nipple shields. Wish me luck!

Simon won't let me buy poppy a halloween outfit :( he says there's no point as we're not going out anywhere etc. BUT my sister has come up with a plan, i give her the money and she 'buys' it as a 'gift' for poppy :o

Yeh go with that plan, you have to dress her up for her first Halloween lol. We are dressing Joshua up even tho we aren't going anywhere. He's going to be a bat baby .

My house still looks like a bombsite. Got so much baby stuff hanging around!

What happens at your 6 week check?

iwish round these parts it a 8 week check, but all they did was look at her eyes, ears and me-me and made sure she could hold the doctors gaze which violet wouldnt do for very long. she didnt even weigh her.

melly i dont have violet a halloween outfit lulu is having her birthdya party on that day and she doesnt even want to dress up for that! i am going to have my hands full cause shes invited 22 kids! its at a play place in town. got to sort party bags too and we go on hol the week before until the day before. god i am going to have to be super organised!

I cannot see the light at the end of this frikkin tunnel!! Joshua was awake agsin till 2:30am. Then again 4:50-6:30 and again at 8:10. I've had about 2 1/2 hours sleep :(. He just cries when you put him down. When you feed him he only takes so much then cries for the rest 5 mins later but takes forever to feed/settle. He was the same all day yesterday, not sure how long I can carry on, I'm so tired.

This is what I want to get poppy for halloween, just so I can take a photo, show her in a few years and say "look, this is what you wore for first halloween!" and not, "daddy was mean so you had naff all on your first halloween."

liz make the party bags up before you go away, get as much stuff ready as you can before you go and then you'll only have to do cake, and food when you get back!

Iwish, is letting him sleep on your bed an option? It may just be that he feels alone in his basket and just needs to feel his mummy there with him. Or put the moses basket right next to your side of the bed, as close as possible to you. I hope it gets better for you soon! I really do!

Oh I asked my sister to look at poppys "teeth", there aren't any, the nurse was mistaken

Well not a lot happening here today, so guess we're on for induction tomorrow

Sorry for the moan earlier ladies, was feeling v tired and emotional. Feeling a bit brighter now.

melly I'm a bit scared of letting him sleep with us. I fell asleep with him for an hour last week and I felt awful when I woke up. The Moses basket is that close to me it touches the bed lol.
I'm going to try and keep him awake more during the day and cluster feed before bed in hope he will sleep better.

Hope your induction goes well tomorrow madkatz. what time do you have to go in?

Been to see the BFing consultant today and Joshua was a good boy, he (eventually) latched on without the shield and had a feed

Have to ring at 7.45 in the Morning to make sure there's a bed and if there is go straight in. God knows what happens if there isn't

Joshua has been bathed, fed and kept awake for a few hours today. Will give him another feed in about half a hour and hopefully he will go to sleep in the Moses basket for me.

iwish how was last night? did you get abit more sleep?

i went to see katy perry yesterday and didnt get home till 12, then had to do the flask for in the night, had to wait for it to cool down abit and was in bed for 12.30. but the baby was up for a bottle at 1, then again at 4.45, then i was up at 7. i ahve had about 4 hours and feel knackered today! she drained both night time bottles so looks like i might have to start making 5 ounces up

Hey liz how was Katy Perry? Sorry you had such a rubbish sleep. Looks like she is doing a bit more growing having all that!

Joshua was an absolute angel last night. Fed at 9:30pm, awake at 1:30am fed and changed. Awake at 6:45am fed and changed and still asleep now at 10:30am!! We kept him awake a bit more during the day and when we put him to bed instead of just putting the blanket over him I swaddled him which I'm guessing worked a treat
I feel human today so I think we might just go out for a nosey around the shops.

Hi all, wrote a load yesterday on my phone, and the flaming wireless cut off, I posted it and lost it!!!

Madkatz sooooo excited for you that bubs finally on his/her way, an't wait to find out the flavour!!! I know it sounds common sense, but just remember to breathe lol. I spent a lot of time holding my breath when contractions came, and when in labour, and lost count of the amount of times Rob and the MW told me to breathe!!!

Liz hope you enjoyed Katy Perry. Sound like a bit of a nightmare of sleep though. Hope you get to catch up on some today.
Good luck with the party planning. My birthday is the 1st Nov, so whenever I had a party, I had to always tell them it wasn't Halloween themed lol!

I've joined the online contented baby site too. Was £20 for the year, but have read some good tips so far, so even if one tiny little thing I read on there works, it's worth it!!

One thing I read in the book which really worked a few weeks ago was Euan was getting really grizzly around 7pm every night, we thought it was colic. In the book it said he may be getting too much to eat in the day. I stuck to the routine to the letter the next day, and most of the time since, and so far so good.

All OK here. Euan has been a bit restless the last couple of nights. I've got away with not feeding him from 11:30-6:00 most nights/mornings, but have really felt it after the stint of sleeping through!!
Apparently he may be going through his 9 week growth spurt, we'll see! I didn't think BF babies slept through til they were on solids so not holding out much hope. But apparently 'sleeping through' is classed as 5 hours straight sleep!! Not in my bloody book it isn't, sleeping through is bloody sleeping through!!
Got his first jabs this afternoon at 2. Not looking forward to it in the slightest. They are going to measure him too so will see how much he's grown. He was 54cm when born, my guess is 67cm :)
Can't believe he is 2 months old today!!

Bella is fine, back to her usual self, bouncing around. I had to 'donate' a muslin yesterday and we tied it in a triangle, like a neckerchief cos she keeps trying to scratch and lick her chest. The actual wound is fine, it's all round it that is now looking sore!
