I didn't feel poppy move much when I was in labour. Think she kicked me once or twice but thats it really. It's your due date tomorrow isn't it madkatz? I really hope this is the start for you, the last few weeks of pregnancy suck don't they? Good luck! Sending extra labour vibes your way :)

iwish joshua is gorgeous! So cute! And i love his little bat costume. Re poppy, yes it was bloody scary the first time i found her on her front! Will upload pics of how i found her when i get on the laptop.

Blimey liz that was a good find wasn't it!? 70 quid to hire a travel cot? You can buy them brand new for less than that!!

Oh my mums just arrived gotta go!

Iwish · 04/10/2011 16:05

Oooh madkatz sounds like something is happening! Fingers crossed for you. I don't remember Joshua moving in labour either.

liz I can't believe he got you one of them from scrap and it only needs a little clean up, that's fab. Doesn't matter if the hol isn't long, at least it's a nice break.

klou you got a good deal with your buggy too!! You always get bargains lol.

Joshua has had his op today. He was v brave and only cried a little bit. He wouldn't BF tho so gave him his bottle and have got to keep trying. Just tried him again when we got home and he still wouldn't do it so I cried. :(

Iwish · 04/10/2011 16:08

Aww thanks melly. Yeh upload some pics of her. Brt she is getting so big now.
enjoy spending time with your mum :)

KLou111 · 04/10/2011 16:36

Looks like we're both crying over feeding today then Iwish. So glad Joshua had his op though, here's hoping he'll be better soon.

I had a little cry cos my milk seems to have dropped off a bit due to me bottle feeding Euan when our friends were here. Have been trying to express to boost supply, but it bloody hurts and nothing coming out. Getting to the 'formula' top up point just to feed him TBH, which I don't want to do cos that'll defeat the object.
He seems happy (chatting away today, soooo cute) but I just feel he's not feeding enough cos he's been a bit cryey, and fine as soon as I put him to me, but he just won't suck long!! Don't know what to do, am feeling totally gutted.

klou it's awful isn't it :(. All I wanted to do was breastfeed my son and he doesnt even want that!! I have been expressing as much as I can but like you I think my supply is going down a bit :(.
I suppose we just need to tell ourselves that if we end up formula feeding that's ok because as long as our little boys are happy and full that's all that matters. I was FF and im ok (apart from slightly dippy lol)

MadKatz · 04/10/2011 20:37

Well still the same symptoms, but no more mucus loss just feeling constant pressure

Iwish · 04/10/2011 20:52

Have u got a ball to bounce on madkatz?

KLou111 · 04/10/2011 20:54

Fingers crossed madkatz :)

Going to (hopefully) buy an electric breast pump tomorrow. Need to increase my milk. I was swaying towards slowly going onto FF earlier, but I fed Euan before I put him down earlier, and totally changed my mind. It can be a pain sometimes BF, but it's lovely feeding him, and when it's just him and me it's like you have your own special moment :)
My manual one is, to put it blunt, SHIT! Good job I got it for free, might stick it on ebay towards the cost of the electric one.

Bloody hell, our hearts just skipped a beat, the alarm just went off on the monitor, it was the bloody battery!!!!

madkatz just remember every hour is an hour closer to seeing your babySmile i hope its not too long for you.

iwish and klou i hope you get flowing againSmile i really hope you can both carry on for as long as you want to.

klou do you have one of them movement alarms?

KLou111 · 04/10/2011 21:05

Yeah, the angelcare sound and movement one, works really well, quite often we get Euey out of his cot and forget to turn it off lol!

OP posts:
Iwish · 04/10/2011 22:58

The pump I have been loaned by the hospital is electric. It's a double one and it's fab. I have got a manual one but didn't tell them about that lol.

We have got that monitor klou. Bet it's hard to remember to turn it off when you take him out lol.

Hey liz hope you are ok.

MadKatz · 05/10/2011 06:44

Well, a fairly confortable night here and no progress Confused

KLou111 · 05/10/2011 07:53

What you playing at madkatz? [Wink]

Well, sorry to be crude, but I am feeding the little one and absolutely dying for the loo Hmm dont really think I should take him with me but I'm getting to that point!!!!!

OP posts:
Iwish · 05/10/2011 12:20

Come on baby madkatz!

Haha klou!! did u manage to wait or did little man get a trip to the loo?

My child Is a crap machine! After his feeds he lies there, makes loads of noises squeezing out the biggest poo. I swear the farting noise is so loud I thought it was DP the first few times Shock

Ooh and on a nice note I fed little man at 12 last night then he slept till 4:15 then slept again till 8:20. He usually only goes 2 1/2 - 3 hours so I think having his tongue done has allowed him to eat more so sleep more Grin. He also sucked a few times when I tried to feed him myself this morning, still ended up with the bottle but it's progress.

lizandlulu · 05/10/2011 14:37

iwish thats great!! good boy!! good about the sucking too! i am sure he will get the hang of it again.

i wonder if madkatz has had any progress?

my vi has found her arms and legs this last week, i am suprised they havent fallen off she moves them so much!! she wont keep her covers on at night and she cant seem to get on with a sleeping bag, she somehow manages to get tangled up in it from all the kickingGrin

and she has just been sat in her bouncy chair and making alot of noise! like shes trying to giggleGrin sooo cute!!

MadKatz · 05/10/2011 17:31

Well done Iwish, great news.

No news here Confused MW 40 wk appointment tomorrow afternoon, so guess we'll find out the next step, if nothing happens tonight

lizandlulu · 05/10/2011 18:07

oh how frustrating for you. are you still getting the pressure pain?

MadKatz · 05/10/2011 19:19

Yes still loads of pressure. DH and I have just been for a walk round our estate and I may have persuaded him into sex (at last) Grin Wink

Iwish · 05/10/2011 19:44

I have just purchased some nipple shields and my little man has just had his first feed!!! I'm sooooo happy!!! Grin Grin Grin

lizandlulu · 05/10/2011 20:27

iwish yeeeyyyyy for you!!!!!!!

madkatz to get it out, a mans gotta do what a mans gotta doGrin tell him its for a worthwhile cause

Iwish · 05/10/2011 20:38

Thanks liz I'm over the moon. I can see it's going to be hard work because he has to work so much harder to get the milk than when he drinks from the bottle so he drinks, gets sleepy then has some more. Sounds like violet is enjoying herself in her chair :)

lol @ agreeing to sex madkatz.

lizandlulu · 05/10/2011 21:58

she doesent mind it in her chair, its a life saver really, i know she will be ok for 5 mins if i have to leave the room or do something. i am wondering what i am going to do when we are on hol as we wont have one there!

shes just gone to bed, she hasnt had a long sleep since 1.30. she had a nap on the way back from school, and another 20 mins about 7, but was really sleepy on her bottle at 9.20, it took about 20 mins for her to have about 3 ounces, so i have put her to bed. shes grizzling but only slightly so might chance a shower. chris can go to her if she really starts.

Iwish · 05/10/2011 22:48

Is it a bouncy chair or a swinging one? We have a swinging chair thing for Joshua and he seems to like it but we only really leave him in it for about 10 mins.
Yeh go for a shower, I'm sure chris can sort her out if she cries.

How many oz does she tend to have at each feed?

Just done feed number 2. He fed and fell asleep after 10mins so not sure if he's had enough or if he will wake up again in a few mins for more?!

lizandlulu · 05/10/2011 22:56

its just a bouncy one, i didnt want her to get used to the swinging really, i do have a swing from when i had lulu but i doubt i will use it now. when lulu was small, she wouldt go to sleep in the daytime unless she was in the swing or car, and i dont want to repeat that.

re feeding, she has anything from 1 to 4 ounces. i make 4 ounces to be on the safe side but she rarely finishes it. mostly its 2-3 ounces at a time.

shes gone to sleep, yeySmile i so want her to not pick up any habits that make life harder.it feels like a huge milestone in her life that shes in her cot with not much fuss. now justy need to get her to sleep through and bring bedtime forward to about 7 ish. all in good time tho i think!

Iwish · 05/10/2011 23:53

Yey Violet! I bet she will be sleeping through very soon, she seems to be doing so well up to now.

Little man is still asleep after his last feed so it must have filled him up, for how long I don't know lol. I was just being nosey about the feeds, Joshua takes anything from 2 1/2 - 4 1/2 oz when he had a bottle. Just wondered if it was normal to have such a big difference.
