petitech · 01/06/2011 08:04

Morning, first official day in June :) come on babies! Agree sasa we just move when everyone currently active has popped. For anyone else we will post the new link if they decide to find us. How are the cramps today? I still have sore throat just hope its not infected.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 01/06/2011 08:17

Pinch punch 1st day of the month, no returns!!

Had 3 strong contractions last night but nothing since.

curiouselle · 01/06/2011 08:27

louey they were my specially bought birkenstock flip flops for swollen feet! still managed to hurt myself!

Hope you managed some sleep in the end! and got your birthplan sorted, mine is about 4 short bullet points, if I made a detailed one I'd stress when it didn't go to plan as I'm a control freak Grin

have promised myself I'm taking it easy today! no trekking round town or oven cleaning for me! hope everybody takes some time to relax also Smile

knackered76 · 01/06/2011 08:44

Morning all :)

Glitzz good luck today :) Try to keep as calm as possible and remember they know all about the condition so will be able to take precautions every step of the way if they need to.

Louey thinking of you today as well. Can't wait to hear the news :)

Thorny Bob did indeed wiggle a bit more and has been quite active this morning :) Glad you managed to clear things a bit with dp and functioning is sometimes all you need.

Come on June babies . . . . . your time is coming Grin

neenewps · 01/06/2011 08:48

Morning all

No more niggles as such thorny just a bit of back pain and today I feel very tired, nauseas & like I am about to have an upset tummy!! I have got the contraction timer deluxe. Haven't fiddled about with it yet though so don't know if it is any good!

I'm term today too :) potentially I could be here until 6th July...!!! But will stalk follow you over to the post natal thread as and when :)

neenewps · 01/06/2011 08:53

Sorry posting on phone so difficult to scroll up and down!

Thinking of you both today louey and glitzz

Joannezipan · 01/06/2011 08:58

morning all, got some sleep so feeling a bit happier with the world today. AND I finally managed to get a doctors appointment for this afternoon, fingers crossed for atomic cough meds. Being on maternity leave is an odd feeling...oh well i'm sure i'll get used to it! :o

Kara fingers crossed for more contractions today!
Curiouselle Boooo to foot blisters! I have found Compeed blister plasters to be very good in the past. I have naturally very wide feet so I'm experienced in the rubbing of shoes.
Louey good luck for tomorrow, I hope all goes according to plan and that you manage to get s good nights sleep in tonight.
Thorny I hope you get your car sorted...but at least you will be shot of them which sounds like a blessing! I was going to say it might be worth checking with your insurance company because we have a no fault vandalism claim thing on ours and I don't think we have to pay the excess for that. We are with Direct Line.

I can't believe i'm 38 weeks tomorrow! Right i might head back to bed for a bit once DH has gone to work - he is quite grumpy about having to go!

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 01/06/2011 09:08

Well I did have a good day yesterday. Very productive. Now I'm paying for it and can barely move or even sit! DH came in a couple of minutes after my bath post last night, so I snuck off leaving him to try and wake up DS and parked myself in the bathtub. It freed my hips and back up enough to kind of cobble together dinner.
Think I definately have to take DH grocery shopping with me next week though, cause pushing the trolley around is no longer an option (mind you neither is the vacuum cleaner, and after 3 weeks DH still hasn't taken the hint and used it himself grr!).

Gillz and Louey good luck with the next couple of days. I hope your LO's arrive safe and well and things don't get to stressful for either of you (easier said than done right).

Joanne and Petitech hope your bugs bugger off too.

How is everyone else? (oh I know I know, sore, tired fed up, impatient, not ready, excited, nervous etc etc Grin).

My plans for a productive day in the kitchen have gone okay so far. I've eaten breakfast. Though I'm now home alone and in front of the TV. This is not going to get a cake baked and chicken dissected and turned into 3 dinners and stock. Or dishes washed, dried and put away... Well dreams are free!

CMH1stbaby · 01/06/2011 09:16

morning ladies, good luck glitz and louey! and joanne, hope doctor meds you up all the way so you feel better!

I have final obstetrician appointment this morning, and if all is well I won't see them again so thats a bit of a milestone. Beautiful sunshine here today so planning on coming back to do some gardening (with help from my mum!) and then a relax in the garden.. still supposed to be studying but frankly can't be arsed any more! Need to follow your lead confessions and get some cooking done, so might drag myself to tesco later..

Have a nice day all xx

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 01/06/2011 09:22

Meant to say, I had a really good MW appt yesterday. Everything looking good, heart beat strong and steady (she said baby sounds happy Grin). Head isn't engaged, but no surprise with this being baby number 2. I also talked to her about my birth plan and she said as long as I'm vocal and speak up I won't be forced to do anything I don't want to. Feel much better after that (and DH is under strict instructions).

jasmine51 · 01/06/2011 09:25

Morning all. Woken up in one hell of a grump so I wont hang around bringing you down, will go to aquanatal instead and hope it snaps me out of it.

Is anyone else super bunged up?. I dont actually mean constipated as such I mean desperate for a poo and rush to the loo sitting expectantly but then unable to get anything out, like bump is blocking the way? I'm getting some dribbly poo and a few rabbit poos (sorry tmi at breakfast time) but its not in proportion to the amount Im eating and I so desperately want a good errrr 'production'. Is this just me?

Thanks for the wishes re the funeral by the way, all went off well. Saddest part of the day was watching one of my cousins - lost her dad a year ago, said goodbye to grandad yesterday and had to cope with my supersized presence when a year ago she was excitedly pg (subsequent mc). She coped with massive grace but her face said it all.

Right, off to have a splash, have a good day all x

AlmightyCitrus · 01/06/2011 09:28

So, ladies...if you have a "friend" who insists on ringing/texting you at stupid o'clock in the morning for no important reason and keeps waking you up, how exactly would you kill them?

BPrincess · 01/06/2011 09:36

Morning all

Glad to hear things may be happening for Neen, Gilliz, Louey and Kara - who's gonna be next?!!

CMH good news re your last appt.

Confessions good luck with your productive day (but remember not to overdo it!)

Joanne hope your doc sorts out something good for that cough, you poor hacky thing...

I had a fairly good night's sleep last night despite taking a fair while to drop off, mulling over today's sweep appt. DP and I decided last night that if, on examination, the cervix isn't really showing any signs of opening up etc etc, then we will say 'no sweep please!' Since Google seems to say it only does any good if things are heading that way anyway. Plus, and I'd love to know what everyone thinks of this one - I think my due date is 5 June, not 30 May, which is what my GP said when I first went to see her. The date was changed at 12-wk scan. If it's calculated from first day of last period (which I am absolutely 100% positive of), then 5 June is def the day. How can they muck about with that? They don't count from when sperm meets egg do they? It's 40 weeks from first day of last period, then they reckon 38 weeks is the 'baby in womb' time, since conception usually happens around 2 weeks later.

What do you all think?

Lovely sunny day here so will try and do a bit in the garden before heading to my lunchtime appointment.

Have a comfortable, chilled, pain/trauma/frustration free day everyone.

BPrincess · 01/06/2011 09:41

Sorry, xposts Almighty and Jasmine.

Almighty what a pain! Tell her in no uncertain terms that she's waking you up and you need your sleep. You will text HER if there's any news.

Jasmine so sorry about your cousin, that must be so hard for her. I know what it's like - my best friend lost her baby (well, that's putting it mildly - at 20-wk scan they discovered a fatal heart defect and she had to have a termination followed by induction). She's never got over it and never gone on to have kids. This was 10 yrs ago. Seeing her is hard each time though she is being such a trooper. Hope your bum gets better - have you tried the usual prunes/dried apricots/cereal thing? Usually works for me.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 01/06/2011 09:45

Almighty - if someone did this to me, I would not even reply or answer the phone. For if I did answer the phone, then they would get a mouthful!!

Gillz - good luck for today! You are in good hands and I am sure that the staff will be taking every precaution wrt your GBS.

Jasmine - glad the funeral went well, your poor cousin Sad I think you said she lost her dad exactly a year before your granddad died? And a m/c as well Sad

Louey - hope you are okay today.

Thorny - glad you and DP have been able to clear the air, hopefully he will now be more helpful. I suppose it is good news your horrid neighbours are moving, but it sucks that you probably won't get the money from them now.

Confessions - yes I end up doing mad blitz, then spend a few hours regretting it, usually lying down! Glad the bath helped. And Confessions DH - get thee to the vacuum cleaner, you lazy sod!!!

CMH - good luck with your obs appointment!

knackered76 · 01/06/2011 09:59

Almighty - turn off your phone! Oh and as for killing I would probably use some implements . . . . oh and enlist children to add to death by noise in early hours of the morning Grin

moomin156 · 01/06/2011 10:03

jasmine sounds like proper constipation to me.....runny poo can be overflow where liquid comes around the sides of hard poo and rabbit droppings are a classic constipation sign. Get the prune juice, water and lactulose going quick :)

BarbieLovesKen · 01/06/2011 10:08

Morning all, am on my phone and wrote a huge post only to loose the whole bloody thing Angry so forgive the lack of individual posts.

Really wanted to say that glizz and louey I'm thinking of you both and am looking forward to hearing all about the safe arrival of your healthy babies.

Jasmine am glad to hear the funeral went as well as a funeral can be expected to. Hope your ok.

bprincess I'm really interested in hearing opinions on this too - was actually going to post later and ask. Like you, according to last date of period I would be due today but scan at 8 weeks and 18 weeks both said 28th may (which slightly makes sense as I know I ovulated early). Is this two date thing / uncertainty not driving you mad? I'm here so fed up as I don't know if I'm 4 days overdue today or simply due today. Have also an ante nsrl appointment tomorrow and don't know what to say if they start talking about induction etc.. (which at this stage they are likely to) (I've seen 4 consultants during the course of this pregnancy and all have given me conflicting advice over which date to go with so I don't expect any help or clarity there)

8 was over the moon to hear your news, what a relief!!

petitech and Joanne I really hope you both get better soon. Being heavily pregnant is hard enough...

curiouselle · 01/06/2011 10:17

almighty I had a friend do this 3am the morning of my wedding, just as I had dropped off because of excited nerves - she claimed she 'screamed down the phone' in HER SLEEP! I decided that if I confronted her she would end up not being my bridesmaid, so in the end I just commented that she was a cow and left it at that, we are still good friends - NOW saying all that I was not pregnant and it didn't happen repeatedly so my advice is jumping up and down on her phone until it it smashed into many pieces then informing her it was the only way to save your friendship Grin

I love how confessions asked how we all were - then managed to answer the question soooo accurately haha who needs conversation when we are now able to mind read Grin

All those dealing with triedness, bad backs, potential sweep decisions etc... a massive hug and a cuppa tea Smile

moomin156 · 01/06/2011 10:21

im going to have a me me me moan.........i am fed up of having a baby attached to me, i know you lovely ladies are desperate for your little ones but i feel i cant do anything, get more than an hours sleep at a time without needing to feed again.....i know its doing her wonders, put on 15oz in 2 weeks and grown 5cm but aaaaarrrrggghhhh its so frustrating. i imagined feed every 3 hrs but no not the last few days every bloody hour!
Sorry i know its not what you want to hear, would just be nice to be showered and dressed and be able to eat at normal times......

misshoohaa · 01/06/2011 10:35

Hi all,
Hope everyone is feeling well on the 1st DAY OF JUNE!! Woohoo - never thought this month would arrive, although feeling more impatient now than ever before.

Glizz and Louey best of luck in the coming days, hope all goes well.

'Barbie and BPPrincess' I have this too, I actually have been given 4 different due dates, 3 from scans in the first 12 weeks and 1 date from my last period. I'm trying and failing to not read into it too much and buy into the whole due date as an estimate thing, however I did just rejig one of my iphone apps to the date of my last period as it reduced my remaining days from 12 to 9.... Hmm, apparently if you want to get really accurate the average is 280 days from the date of your last period.

I personally think that option is the best, most likely swayed by the fact that gives me the earliest due date!

BPrincess · 01/06/2011 10:54

Misshoohaa Well, 280 days makes me 5 June, too - not 30 May! You may however be regretting going by the earliest due date when that day comes and goes! (do hope not though!)

Barbie looks like we're in a very similar situation - how frustrating eh? And also, I really don't want to go through induction when it may be that I'm only 5 days after my 'real' due date. Hmmm.... will def give midwife and whoever else is around a good grilling today. Off in a bit, so wish me luck!

moomin I remember part of our NCT breastfeeding class when she said they go through growth spurts, so sounds like that's what's happening with you right now. Hang on in there and I'm sure things will settle again and you'll be able to eat and shower! Thoughts are with you.

Joannezipan · 01/06/2011 11:08

AlmightyCitrus you make thousands of paper cuts on them and then shake them about in a bag with salt and lemon juice - that should be punishment enough!

BP Good Luck with your MW BBQ :o

Moomin ((hugs)) tell your DH to grow some boobies and help you out :o (I think mine would given half a chance!)

I have just brought a very exciting pump for emptying my birth pool...powered by a drill - how snazzy is that! I have also done the washing up and brought 4 birthday presents (none of which was for me or babbit - booo to that!) I love the internet! Right hoovering and then a nap. I might actually try and get dressed at some point too ( maybe)

8rubberduckies · 01/06/2011 11:08

Crikey, how many posts in the last 12 hours? Grin

Good luck today Gillz, thinking of you, and looking forward to hearing about your baby's safe arrival.

Now it looks like I'm going to have a natural delivery I am going to send off my Group B Strep tests today, so I may also be having anti-b's in labour depending on whether I have it this time around.

If you ladies who have had your babies are going to hang around here and wait for us all to drop, use me as your cut-off point for when to move over to postnatal. Now I'm probably not going to be booked in for a CS, and considering not only was I induced at 10 days overdue with ds, but my cervix was resolutely closed and high up at that point, I think I may be last! I'm due on 22nd June, and am now settling in for the long haul....

BarbieLovesKen · 01/06/2011 11:11

moomin was just about to say exactly the same as bprincess, definately sounds like a growth spurt. Otherwise I'm not really sure what to suggest, could you supplement one or two feeds with ebm so your dh could step in and give you a wee break? Is this an option?

misshooha that's really helpful, thank you so much. Ive just counted up 280 days and that brings me up to correspond with my lmp date (what I originally thought before these docs started all their faffing about) 1st June!

princess it's so frustrating! I know it's only a couple of days and I know it's only an estimate but we focus so much on this one date for so long, then are so desperately disappointed when it passes. I've been thinking I'm overdue (again) since Saturday and really fed up plus I stupidly told everyone I was due 28th mag so now we're been hounded with messages. Oh well I'll just leave it be now with everyone else but have in my own mind that it's likely I'm really due today (thanks again mshooha). Best of luck at your appointment, will you let me know how it goes?
