My mw friend has a slimming class tonight so not sure if she can do the sweep now - she has managed to get me some clary sage tho Grin

curiouselle · 31/05/2011 18:53

OMG you have to be on maternity leave to keep up with this thread Grin I only went town for 5hours and now regretting all the walking the afternoon and loads of chat has happened!

Congratulations halle

Back later for proper catch up!

milliemuffin · 31/05/2011 19:22

Nurse thanks for the link, I'll have a look later when DC's are in bed.

Think I've overdone the nesting today :( Sitting here with ice pack on lower back, flippin hurts :(

DD fell (suspect pushed!) backwards off the sofa earlier. I heard her head hit the wooden floor and she's been unusually quiet for her so just hoping she's ok. I know they're tough little cookies but it did sound like she hit the floor quite hard :(

Sorry, lots of :( Hope you're all ok xx

CitizenOscar · 31/05/2011 19:47

Congratulations Halle - lovely to hear of more babies safely arriving. Think my LO is going to be inside a while longer - not due for 3 weeks and no signs of an early arrival. He seems happy enough where he is anyway!

knackered76 · 31/05/2011 19:58

Millie Poor dd and you :( Rest up tonight and take it easy tomorrow.

Shameless moan about dh so feel free to move along . . . . comes in from work, gets changed and plonks himself on the bed where I am sorting the children out. All the while moaning about how tired he is, how he feels sick, how he doesn't know what's wrong with him, etc. Really? I mean REALLY? I'm over 39wks pregnant, up 3 times a night and dealing with the children all day at the moment. ARRRRGGGGGGGGG He was a total nightmare when ds was born, couldn't cope with the tiredness and didn't I bloody know it! I'm dreading he's going to be the same this time . .. . I think I might kill him if he is, one less to think about in the house Wink!

Ok, rant over :)

loueytb3 · 31/05/2011 20:05

Congratulations Halle - hope you managed to escape hospital, lovely name too.

Apologies for lack of time to read through the whole thread, but I am having a cs on Thursday Shock. Had more monitoring and scans today which revealed that the baby has hardly grown and also that the fluid levels have dropped pretty dramatically since last Thursday. Consultant wants the baby out and for me to be monitored tomorrow in case things get worse. Baby is estimated to be 4lbs 1oz which is not great and it is likely to need special care. I will be 36 weeks tomorrow. I was hoping for a girl, but given the number of girls already I think I am probably going to have a boy Wink. Got a long list of things to do before the end of tomorrow, DH is putting the buggy together tonight (finally). Am a bit hacked off that I seem unable to be able to grow babies very well and I was really hoping that we were going to avoid SCBU this time round. Just hope there is no other sinister reason for the baby being small. Keep your fingers crossed!

CitizenOscar · 31/05/2011 20:18

Just wishing you all the best louey and sending you some positive vibes. At least you'll get to meet your baby soon and it'll be easier to give him/her the care s/he needs once you know more about how s/he is. Fingers crossed all will be well.

8rubberduckies · 31/05/2011 20:21

Louey best of luck for Thursday. It must be a scary time, but he / she will be in excellent hands, and safe with his / her Mummy and Daddy! Try and take it easy rather than rushing through everything before you go in and save your energy - baby will have all that he / she needs if he / she has a rested and chilled Mummy Smile. Will be thinking of you...

sasamaxx · 31/05/2011 20:31

Aaaarrrggghhhhhh indeed knackered - they have absolutely no idea do they? Angry

Best of luck tomorrow loueytb - you'll soon have your baby and they will be able to give him/her the best of care.

Joannezipan · 31/05/2011 20:31

Evening All. So work is D.O.N.E. :o I was sent home at lunch time due to the cough from hell. I got a bit worried about the coughing this afternoon because everytime I have a coughing fit the bump goes hard Confused. I called the hospital, but they didn't seem worried about it. The mw said to see the doc again to get something for the cough and not to worry unless I get a show or start leaking fluid. DH brought me some soothers though so i'm feeling slightly better. He has gone off to the pub to meet up with the rest of the NCT class, i'm a bit Envy at not going, but can't risk giving anyone else the cough from hell!

Will check through the tread a bit later, now i must get some lemsip, apologies for the me me me nature of the post

knackered76 · 31/05/2011 21:06

Louey best of luck for Thursday. Sorry it's not gone how you wanted but once your baby is out they will be in excellent hands. Agree with 8RD, don't rush about tomorrow trying to do things, take it as easy as you can and get everyone else to rush about for you.

Joanne Hooray for ML Grin Hope your cough gets better soon.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 31/05/2011 21:22

Louey, hope everything goes well for you.
One of my friends had her baby at 35+5, he was 4lb2oz, spent about 8 weeks in hospital. He is now a very rambunctious 2 yo. Smile

moomin156 · 31/05/2011 21:35

Louey thinking of you for thursday.......i agree with all the others and try not to worry. SCBU is frightening but excellent care will be recieved. 36 weeks is not far off term and 4lb is a good weight. Remember my LO was only 2lb 11 and was out of hospital at 4lb 1oz. Its amazing what SCBU can do. Fingers crossed for you x

petitech · 31/05/2011 22:10

All, what does everyone think about staying with this thread group until all the June babies are born. I think it'd be a shame to create a postnatal group with a big chunk of the group missing and it'll be hard to switch between the two?
Then once everyone's popped we can move across?! :)

NurseSunshine · 31/05/2011 22:13

Hope your DD is OK Millie. RE your poor back, I've found the only thing that works is leaning over my birth ball, takes all the weight off my back.

Hope your DH gets a grip and starts looking after you a bit Knackered

Will be thinking of you on thursday Louey. Hope you're not worrying too much, am sure you'll be out of hospital in no time :)

Welcome to the heady world of maternity leave Joanne Grin Now just get rid of that cough so you can enjoy it properly

My back is killing today and I had an awful night. I was so uncomfortable, could barely heave myself out of bed to get to the loo and then kept waking up with really achey lower legs and knees :( Really need to have a better night tonight

NurseSunshine · 31/05/2011 22:14

I agree Petitech if only because it'd probably just be me left!

Hi louey my Df friend just had little boy at 35+5 weighing 4lbs he was discharged within a week all fine! went back in with jaundice but again was out in a couple of days! He is 3 months and been gaining weight rapidly!
It is still a worry I know how u must be feeling my ds was in intensive care for 3 months after he was born worst time of my life but the staff were fantastic! I'm going in tom to get induced 39+1 I have gbs and will need to stay in for monitoring extra 48 hrs to make sure baby ok I have been so emotional after everything I went through with ds was praying for no probs this time! Midwife says no need to get so upset all will be fine and statistics are low for baby to fall ill with gbs but doesn't exactly make me feel better as my little boys condition was about 4 in 12,000 babies! Just can't wait to hold my baby and know she ok! Will prob not have her to thur so will be thinking of you also!

Congratulations to more bouncing babies! Can't believe my baby will be here within next 2 days! Everything is done but still feel not organised enough and also very nervous of the pain to come lol!

Xxxx

CMH1stbaby · 31/05/2011 22:34

hello everyone, have only just found the new thread, what can I say, baby brain rules in my head at the moment!

Too much missed to comment on all, but congrats to the new arrivals, very exciting news about the lovely babies that have come in the last few days.

Hope those with worries are doing ok and sending lots of 'everything go well' vibes..

Just home from our last NCT class, 37 weeks today and no other news to report! Watching with excitement as more babies pop out though...

Jer79 · 31/05/2011 22:35

Petitech Great idea, I'm all in.

Louey Really good luck for Thursday. I think Moomin's wisdom is pretty great given her experience of having Florence, and soon you too will be talking groggily about sleepless nights at home and night feeds! Treat yourself well tomorrow, there will be someone to do all the things you haven't had time to but only you can be there on Thursday as relaxed as possible to bring your baby into the world. GOOD LUCK!!

Thornykate · 31/05/2011 23:32

Congratulations Halle wonderful news!

And 8rd I am very glad to hear that LO is behaving and you don't have to stay in hospital you must be v relieved.

louey sending you lots of positive thoughts & best wishes for thurs.

Also for you too gillz for your induction I hope it goes well, I will be having IV ab's for GBS too. In a way we are lucky that we at least know of the condition so are having the risk managed; well that's what I keep telling myself ;) I hope everything goes like clockwork for you.

Hope DD is ok Millie I hate the night after they bump their heads bless them, I usually spend hours hovering over them as they sleep as I am a paranoid mum sometimes though. If we had £1 for every time we worried about them...

Has baby woke up & wriggled for you knackered ? Agree that ice cream is the way to go Grin

Any further niggles neenewps ? which contraction timer do you have? I was going to upgrade & get the baby bump one but I went off the app in a big way when it started telling me I am past due date (would never have noticed Hmm ) & giving me advice on my newborn.

thanks for comments on my lovely neighbours; just found out they have sold the house so looks like they may have been planning on just disappearing without sorting this out as they haven't mentioned it to anyone round here; DP found out this afternoon when we were checking to see what house prices are like here at the moment. Re: DP we had a row this aft which was unpleasant but has cleared the air a bit, enough so that we can function together anyway which is sometimes all any of us want eh? Thank you so much for the kind words recently I know I have been subjecting you lovely ladies to some pretty miserable posts recently & I am grateful for the support it has helped to feel listened to x

I like the marble idea I think ds3 would like something visual.he is fine at the moment but I dOnt know if a new baby will unsettle him you never can tell can you.

crumble I hope you find the right words to express to your mum how you feel. I appreciate that when someone has had difficulties it is hard as you don't want to rock the boat or set them off when things are going well but you are doing right by your LO by letting this time be about YOU bonding with your child, it might be a big emotional strain to have to work on building your own relationship with your mum at the same time. Like kara said I am sorry I have no advice on how to handle it but I hope It pans out ok.

sasa hope you are getting lots of rest & you too mosp the finish line is in sight now!

Need to rest hope I can sleep my back has been killing me today, oh the joys!

sasamaxx · 31/05/2011 23:33

Good luck tomorrow gillz
I'm in petitech but presumably we won't wait indeterninately for everyone on the original stats list since loads of them have disappeared?
Didn't get a sweep tonight but she says I can have one if I want over the next couple if days but then she is off on holiday on Friday.
Put the baby seat in the car today :D

curiouselle · 01/06/2011 00:02

I sympathise with all other back sufferers!! I did overdo it today - lying in bed with aching lower back and right leg pain that reminds me of growing pains from when I was little - feeling very whingy! I know I need to just chill out and watch tv or something but am so used to being active it's taking time to adjust!

SMH1 I'm 37 weeks today also! we are due date buddies though I'm thinking I'll be early as everyone keeps looking at me going 'woo thats all baby in there, it won't be long!' not based on medical expertise however Grin!

I agree with petiteach with 3 weeks to go, don't leave us yet!!!

curiouselle · 01/06/2011 00:04

also just found blister - stupid new fat feet shoes!

loueytb3 · 01/06/2011 05:58

Thank you all Smile. Can't sleep so I'm trying and failing to write my birth plan Hmm We have a constructed buggy and a girls name sorted. Still arguing debating the boys name....

gillzz good luck to you too - its very exciting! Hope you have a much calmer experience this time round.

joanne - very glad you got sent home, now relax and enjoy your maternity leave

curiouselle I find it very hard to sit still too!! What are you doing still wearing shoes, one advantage of having a baby at this time of the year is that you can live in flip flops Grin

KaraStarbuckThrace · 01/06/2011 07:29

Perhaps the thing to do is to make this thread our last Antenatal thread and then all move over en masse to the Postnatal thread so we can keep continuity?
But would that be okay with those like Nurse who may not have had theirs then?
Or if the next one, the one after?
