Celeste is a beautiful name Sasa :) What is up with the weather? Was April all the summer we're gonna get? It's like monsoon season here.
It's milliemuffin you need to speak to about the facebook page

Thanks Nurse Grin
You too? I keep seeing news reports about a drought somewhere and wondering if it's actually for real

NurseSunshine · 11/06/2011 17:09

It'll be really sunny and then all of a sudden start pouring down! I want the summer back, ortherwise all my plans about lounging around in the park with baby are going to be scuppered!

sasamaxx · 11/06/2011 17:18

Me too - really want an idyllic sunny new-baby summer

KaraStarbuckThrace · 11/06/2011 17:24

Horrid grey clouds here too. Feck off with you!
Has been raining as well. We want the lovely weather we had in April!!

jasmine51 · 11/06/2011 17:58

Thanks notoast - go with your gut feel, good luck for Monday
Sasa ha ha for sneaking the name in there, lovely choice
MOSP hope you have had a lovely day and are planning to make full use of room service for the rest of your stay. Did Percy Reversey enjoy his first social engagement?

Nothing to report here - have spent the afternoon at MILs to emphasise that we probably wont see her now for many weeks because she wont get off her *rse and come and see us, and I am certainly not going to be dragging a newborn halfway across London to see her straight away as she is expecting me to.

Beef casserole was lovely...and not a sultana in sight

DH has been offered a job in Suffolk - which is not exactly down the road, but also isnt Iraq so I'm hoping he'll go for it. Will keep the phone bills down too.

Off for a waddle down the lane now, got to get the message to the LO that he needs to be heading south asap.

crumbletastic · 11/06/2011 18:20

Thought I better check in again after seeing photos of the gorgeous Tegan on facebook, she really is lovely thorny. More baby pics please ladies who are already cuddling their little ones!

I'm so frustrated for you barbie I really hope more than anything that things happen very soon for you. You too kara I never really realised the possibility of labours going on for so long without developing into having a baby very quickly. I had never heard about these annoying third labours before, I hope babies come out soon.

Hopefully labella has had her baby by now, or is at least well underway. Looking forward tio hearing the news.

And I'm totally with you on thge name thing misshoohaa, ever since I found out I was having a girl I have been hoping to find a name I love, but there are so many lovely names that are perfect if anyone else uses them but just don't seem right for me, or go with our surname. I have so many brilliant boy names but not the perfect girl name yet. And it doesn't help practically everyone I know saying they think girls are a lot easier to name than boys Hmm

I'm a wee bit disappointed this weekend as I got a phone call from my thyroid consultant yesterday saying I might not be allowed to bf. I have an overactive thyroid which is usually quite well controlled but has gone crazy since being pregnant, and I am on unsafe amount of medication for breastfeeding atm. They are giving me a little bit of a chance to get bf established by reducing my meds down to the safe dose now before baby arrives but if my throid levels begin to ris too dramatically a couple of weeks after delivery then I will have to increase my meds again or I can make myself quite ill. I know I shouldn't really be disappointed as mine and babies health are more important but I loved bf so much

sasamaxx · 11/06/2011 18:28

Oh no crumbletastic Sad
Have you seen this though? www.kellymom.com/health/thyroid/index.html

sasamaxx · 11/06/2011 18:29

sorry try again here

crumbletastic · 11/06/2011 19:13

Hmmm, after reading that I have just skim read quite a few scientific journal articles which pretty much state that any benefits of bf outweigh possible risk sof medication transference. I feel much happier now, thanks sasa. Grr at outdated doctors though

8rubberduckies · 11/06/2011 19:30

Hi all - just checking in, we have been out in the sun today - it has been positively wintry here for the last couple of days, but the sun has made an appearance all day today and it has not hammered it down even once! We went on a boat trip around the docks and then met up with some friends for a pub lunch on the waterside, the stopped off for an icecream on the way home. We are also thinking this could be potentially be our last weekend as a threesome!

Barbie I can't believe what has happened and that you have not gone into labour; I also can't believe they haven't induced you yet as it seems that around these parts they can't wait to get you in for an induction! I'm with you notoast regarding hanging on as long as possible without one, but if your gut instinct says baby needs to come out then its time - Good Luck Monday notoast and I hope things get moving before Tuesday Barbie.

I hope Tabitha and Labella are well...

MOSP hope you have all enjoyed the wedding today.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 11/06/2011 19:34

Was about to say that would be a default response from your consultant - they are not experts on breastfeeding!
Kellymom link as you have seen is useful, but also speak to your local breastfeeding counsellor as there is a book she is very likely to have, I can't remember the name of it, but basically it is all about medication while pregnant and is very comprehensive.

Jasmine - yey for your DH!! Is it pretty much what he was doing before?

motherofsnortpigs · 11/06/2011 19:39

Yes jasmine I did laugh hollowly at the Reversy Percys you brought over. Spookily prophetic. thorny so glad you got to a family agreement on a name. When you say Tiggy I think about Mrs Tiggywinkle and think of how easy a hedgehog would be for a first birthday cake. I can't believe you're considering a 5th. I am a birth junkie but I scared myself with this one. However we are notoriously careless with contraception... sasa Barbar the Elephant's wife is Queen Celeste. I love the book and I love the name.

sasamaxx · 11/06/2011 19:42

Yay @ Queen Celeste Grin

KaraStarbuckThrace · 11/06/2011 19:47

MOSP - how was the wedding? Did you and Percy get mobbed?

Celeste is a very elegant name, as is Tegan! Tiggy is very cute too :)

NurseSunshine · 11/06/2011 19:48

Oh I loveed Barbar and Celeste! Will have to find that and force baby to love it too!

Jasmine Nice one on DH's job

I know this is kind of on the late side but if anyone was wondering how to prepare for being a first time parent, try this...

NurseSunshine · 11/06/2011 19:49

PS MOSP My mum made a hedgehog cake one birthday, it had chocolate buttons for the spines

takethatlady · 11/06/2011 20:24

Awww love the name Celeste sasamaxx :) - and Tegan thornykate :) So exciting on this thread now.

Hope kara and barbie are huffing and puffing by now :)

jasmine Shock at your MIL - glad you told her!

nurse I had that hedgehog cake too! I think it might be a Delia or a Cadbury's recipe ...

Nothing to report here except I'm spotting. Hoping that's a sign things might get on the move in the next couple of weeks (only 37+6).

PrisonerZero · 11/06/2011 20:54

I was just reading through the thread and.....

My waters broke!!

Big gush soaked my jeans so went to the toilet and it carried on coming.

Thought it had stopped so came downstairs in just my t-shirt and it started again all over the kitchen floor!

Shitting myself a bit now. No pains though. Am 40+2 today.

NurseSunshine · 11/06/2011 20:56

Wow Prisoner!! Good luck!

sasamaxx · 11/06/2011 21:02

Whoo Hoo - Go Prisoner !!!!!

PrisonerZero · 11/06/2011 21:02

Have had loads more come out, am wearing a maternity pad but have soaked through it already. Should I take it to the hospital with me incase they try to say its wee?

I rang the midwife and she said to come in for a check up but don't want to be sent home again.

I also feel like I really need a poo. Don't want to try to hard incase its not a poo, but also don't want to poo on the table at the hospital. I am stressing about random things.

BarbieLovesKen · 11/06/2011 21:02

Oh wow prisoner!!! Excellent!!! GrinGrin how exciting!

BarbieLovesKen · 11/06/2011 21:04

I wore a pad in with ds and they did want a look so I would if I were you.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 11/06/2011 21:15

Prisoner - yey it sounds very promising!
