Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Hi all,
This app thing is going to be dangerous, I'm always reading but can never be bothered to post on the iPhone, although this is going to make it so much easier.
Very exciting to see the new arrivals, especially SASA after such a long build-up. Hope KARA that things get going again for you. I never realised that it could be so stop and start.
To those waking early, it's so annoying isn't it, I find it's easier to just get up and read my book rather than fight it and usually find that helps get me back asleep relatively soon.
Due on Monday so symptom spotting like crazy, which is not helping my mental state!! Wink my mum has cursed me by saying I'll pop early and here I am still whale like...... Although heart burn has calmed down so hopefully baby is lower down. I've also got a lovely cauldron of ingredients at the ready, raspberry leaf, evening primrose, clary sage, and MOSP u have given me the acupressure bug, and seeing as you popped that one is getting a good work out! I've also used my DH a number of times over the last few days, although he can't really complain he should be grateful GrinGrinGrin!! It's like conception all over again - bicycle legs!!

Hopefully getting a sweep on Monday or Tuesday, nice and soon after my DD due to the midwifes shifts so hopefully that will get things cracking. 6 out 8 in my nct group have gone over so I'm hoping that I'll break the mould and get some action over the weekend!

Sorry not to mention everyone, u still cant scroll down with the app to read back threads I don't think, but hope everyone is feeling happy and twingy,, no word from labelle I see for a little while - I hope this means she's getting somewhere.

milliemuffin · 10/06/2011 08:06

And my back's killing from doing too much already Sad

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 10/06/2011 08:23

I hope you're getting more sleep Kara, sorry to see you're STILL babyless.

I managed to drop off again, so feeling hopeful of actually doing something useful today.

Also sorry to hear you're having a bad start to your day Millie

KaraStarbuckThrace · 10/06/2011 08:49

Millie - yes I find am getting very short tempered with DS and his incessant questions.

moomin156 · 10/06/2011 08:56

Morning all.....still no more babies :(
Flo is a lot better today, turned the corner yesterday afternoon. Swaddling has worked an absolute treat at night and she sleeps lovely in between feeds.....As a result i feel knackered :)

KaraStarbuckThrace · 10/06/2011 09:00

Awww glad Flo is better now, hope you get some more sleep soon though! It is rotten when they are that little and poorly Sad

Thing is I always found when DS finally started sleeping through the night consistently, I was still waking up Hmm

jasmine51 · 10/06/2011 09:03

Sasa I has quite extensive lasering but no cone biopsy so in theory scarring should be minimal and superficial...but I will accept that cervix is delicate cos it always bleeds after..errr...nocturnal activity

Tabitha go girl!

8 Please tell your cervix not to be scared, its done a grand job keeping your LO in and safe and all its got to do now is have a big yawn then go back to sleep Smile

Prisoner keep drinking, keep swinging those hips and you will be pooing in no time. Alternively have something to eat that irritates your bowel like the inevitable hot curry, unsweetened rhubarb or a huuuge swig of lactulose. I have a very weird physiological to libraries..they always upset my stomach....but if you are going to try this, make sure its a library that has a loo!

9am...time to ring the scary people to talk about my induction....big brave deep breaths.....

crumbletastic · 10/06/2011 09:03

Woah, it's just taken over an hour to catch up on the past 2 days! My brain is incapable of remembering everything I wanted to comment on, but obvious congratulations to petitech on the birth of your little girl. ( I really hope I haven't missed any more births here in my early morning catch up).

I'm 39 weeks today and this is the day I was induced last pregnancy for PET, my appointment yesterday shows my bp is perfectly fine so I have a massive sense of relief that I am more likely to get the labour I want this time, rather than a very fast, very speedy induction. It is very weird to think that I could possibly go at least another 3 weeks though without any action. Very sorry to those who are way over their due dates and getting close to this

BarbieLovesKen · 10/06/2011 09:06

Morning all! No baby here - I'll be 42 weeks tomorrow - eek!! Like others, I've been having contractions on and off for about a week but in particular the past 4 nights - not giving them much notice to be honest as not painful enough and always end up stopping - presumably just braxton hicks or pre labour. Was thinking though, I'm ignoring everything so, so much now that if I actually do manage to go into labour before next Tuesday (doubtful), I wont believe it and will end up giving birth in the car!! Grin

How's everyone today?

BarbieLovesKen · 10/06/2011 09:09

Oops x posts with lots of you! Jasmine very best of luck - will be keeping an eye to see how you get on.

AlmightyCitrus · 10/06/2011 09:12

Glad Flo is better moomin

I bet my house is more of a tip millie. It's got in such a mess. Also as my youngest is 8, it's no-where near baby-proof, so we're really going to have to go at it over the weekend to sort it out....be we I mean DH. I'm under strict instructions to sit down and do nothing. I will point and instruct from the sofa.

Any of you first time mums fancy a crash course in advanced parenting? I've got an 11 year old DD I'd be happy to send over. Comes with free tantrums and advanced door slamming abilities. Also makes tea/coffee....anyone? Please?!

PrisonerZero · 10/06/2011 09:19

Good luck Jasmine!!

(I did a poo btw, thanks for the tips Grin)

I have the doctors at 10.30am, I am really trying to avoid being left 17 days over due and as you know got the midwife onside yesterday, but not the consultant, so I am going with my copy of the guidelines to see the doctor today - just having him write something on my notes might sway the consultant on Wednesday. I sound so pushy Blush but I think I just need a sense of control and to know what will be happening. At the midwifes yesterday the hospital said they had no record of me Shock and I wasn't due to give birth there. Midwife has written HIGH RISK all over my notes now, although I am not entirely sure why. Maybe she feels I am high risk of frustration or something Grin

It seems to be the done thing now, to wait until 17 days over.

Barbie, I hope you go into labour naturally before Tuesday.

The sweep/sex doesn't seem to have had any effect at all, not even a show or any spotting. They didn't work with previous DCs either though so wasn't expecting much.

I am so fed up of texts and calls asking for progress reports - why do that to a pregnant lady at 7am??

Very grumpy lately.

Sarahmumtobe · 10/06/2011 09:35

Hi all, again popping back in after a long spell of not posting, although I have been lurking and keeping track of new baby arrivals.I have just downloaded the app-is def much easier to post-I always use my phone which is probably why I don't post much.

Congratulations to all the ladies who have had their babies, and Kara and Barbie looking forward to hearing about new arrivals over the next few days-I really do feel for you-your little ones are obviously very comfortable. Take care and hoping to see birth announcements very soon.

I'm due on Tuesday, baby has dropped and has moved to head down and engaged (went breech at 36 weeks but managed to get himself the right way up without ECV) but no other signs of an imminent arrival. After saying we were not going we are planning to go to a wedding 2.5 hours away tomorrow. I have given up on the thought that this baby may come early and am thinking it may still be weeks away!Sad

Thornykate · 10/06/2011 09:59

Congratulations petitech & welcome little max Smile . Hope you have a speedy recovery from the csec .

Hi again Tabitha I was nervous with number 4 before induction but once you get into the swing of it you will be ok the nerves will disappear Smile good luck I'm sure you'll do great!

Joanne & ttl I am so shocked at these bike stories! Hope your DH gets some justice maybe a witness will come forward? Scary tho.

citrus glad you got some reassurance from the dr, hope baby stays comfy til weds Smile bet you can't wait now you have a date though?

That MW sounds lovely prisoner glad you have someone like that involved in your care.

mosp I feel for you with the afterpains; I suffered with them quite a lot after DS2 & particularly DS3 so was expecting a repeat this time. I took regular paracetamol but have not been too uncomfortable at all this time thank goodness. Don't think my uterus is shrinking back as quickly this time though whereas before the MWs always comment on how fast it contracts. Am not complaining though as the pains are so much less this time. Hope little Percy is settling in well.

daisy get well soon! And of course little Florence too moomin x

sasa hope baby girls windy night was a one off for both of your sakes, it's so hard when they are upset & can't settle Sad can't wait to hear the LOs name Smile
We have had several discussions re names in our house too but are now just finalising middle name for baby.

barbie glad you are feeling a bit better re induction date, I think you & kara will both go quite quickly wen it actually starts off, fingers xd.

Well done on feeding little Ethan up Monica Smile

Can't finish off name checking as I began this post at 9:30 last night Blush

We didn't get out of hosp til 19:45 pm weds as baby wasnt feeding well just sleeping a lot & going cold. She had a lot of congestion in her tummy apparantly common if mum not in labour for long as the ctrx squeeze out the rubbish from the baby. She's much better now but it is a push to get more than 20mls formula down her at any 1 feed. She seems to do better for her dad though! Don't know what will happen re breast feeding as I have some health ishoos that get in the way so the bf coordinator said wait & see if milk comes in & whether it actually comes out or just engorges me. It has definitely come in & she has thankfully drained a bit out this morning over the course of 90 mins but its not flowing as it should. TBH I will be grateful for anything I can give her so am trying not to feel guilty.

I have finally come around to what the rest of family have been wanting to call her for months so baby has a name, well a 1st name anyway, she will be called Tegan, I liked Tegan May but she is a June baby now so maybe Tegan Rose. DP must've forgiven me as he wants her middle name after me but I don't know.

Tegan is a lovely baby though a real ray of sunshine & just what we needed after a bit of hard times this past few yrs Smile does anyone know if we can add photos on this new app? Haven't had chance to go on fbook yet but would love to show her off.

DS3 is 7 today & DS1 has been a huge PITA at school so been trying sort out the rest of family as much as poss too.

BTW I am already broody Blush & so is DP,... Maybe 1 more, am I mad!? Grin

Hope everyone ok

Thornykate · 10/06/2011 10:01

That should read out of hosp at 10:45 pm, was shocked they discharge so late!

moomin156 · 10/06/2011 10:14

thorny Shock at being broody already, it has to be your post natal pg hormones

Labella77 · 10/06/2011 10:16

Morning everyone, no new babies this morning (Me included) i had a good cry yesterday and this morning, it doesn't help labour along though.

This is the fastest thread ever, i dont' have a look for a couple of days and there's 400 new pages. i'm such a technophobe it takes hours to see anything on my phone, whcih isn't an app type phone. so i apologise for not name checking everyone.

My friend had her baby yesterday only 2 days late and apart from feeling overjoyed with the news for her, i felt a bti jealous and then my mother told me i was a bitch, so i told her to f off, aren't i nice? I am apparently not allowed to have any genuine feelings or at least express them in front of her. I must always be nice. Grrrrr.

Saw a midwife for last sweep yesterday before induction, tomorow, and had a scan, the baby has moved out of being engaged and free floating around as if he has no plans to leave ever. MW also said that my cervix wasn't even effaced and she couldn't do a sweep, she also said she had short fingers. The last 3 sweeps i had all managed to get in there, so i don't really understand apart from the small finger issue what is going on. Has my cervix got scared as well and decided to unefface? Or should that be defaced. So that made me miserable. Then having an extra day to wait for induction, was supposed to be today, as they are all full. I am high risk and consultant advised induction no later than now.

But hey, i made a cake by 5:30 yesterday morning, chocolate with loads of squashy chocolate filling and cream. mmmmmmm. Insomnia pays off sometimes. Is 10:10 too early for cake? NO. You can all have a bit. I'll pass you some raspberries too they are yummy.

Good luck to everyone still waiting or in labour.
x

moomin156 · 10/06/2011 10:20

can i have some cake for breakfast please......i have a LO that wont be put down so i am starving and caffeine deprived :(

8rubberduckies · 10/06/2011 10:31

Ooooooh I'll have some of that cake please labella Smile. Really sorry you're not in labour yet as well.

Hope Tabitha is doing ok...

Barbie I have had 2 decent night's sleep, so am feeling better. Only the normal wee-wake-ups, no worrying in the middle of the night, although DP is not allowed in our bed now, except to tuck me in Grin. Poor bloke, feel a bit sorry for him, but I get all claustrophobic if I have to share the bed at the moment. DS has got into the habit of sneaking in around 2am, but he is only wee, so I hardly notice he's there, unless he wakes me up at 3am to show me a particularly exciting brrmbrrm he has brought in with him Hmm. I am also quite enjoying it, as I'm aware I'm not going to get the chance to snuggle him so much and co-sleep after baby comes, our King Size just aint big enough for four of us!

Curiouselle here is the recipe I use for Chicken Tagine - it is not a traditional one, but is a really tasty, easy version and freezes well. Nigel Slater is a genius Grin. I have made enough for about 8 portions, so can't wait for dinner tonight!

I have written the hugest list of things I would like to get done before I go into labour; I don't want to tempt fate, but at the speed I'm going at the moment baby is going to have to stay put until late July Grin. I keep adding to it as well. At the very top is to write a revised birth plan (the one I have written leans heavily towards having a CS, as I had convinced myself baby would stay breech or transverse). I'm dreading it; its a bit like that feeling you get when you know you've got to start your dissertation, but I know its important. I always used to leave all my essays til the last minute!

Joannezipan · 10/06/2011 11:40

labella cake me up please!

8 glad you have slept and are feeling better for it. Don't feel bad about booting the DH either. Mine has been in the spare room for weeks now. But that's because I take up too much room and kept hitting him in the face Hmm. Oh and do your birth plan :o

You will all be glad to know that the cough is officially no longer an infection...now it is a "clearing action" Hmm
We are off out for lunch in a mo - at least DH gets to do something nice for his birthday.
I wish the web forum had emicon buttons...it would be so much easier than copying and pasting the words(which I have to do because I'm dyslexic and spell them wrong otherwise)!

moomin156 · 10/06/2011 12:04

more cake in the oven.....especially for those with poo problems.......sticky date bars on there way :)

BarbieLovesKen · 10/06/2011 12:35

Sorry haven't caught up yet today but have just got my exam results and I did (shockingly) really well!!! Grin hadn't mentioned they were due out to anyone as was so sure id failed miserably so woo hoo to that surprise!! This means I now have a higher cert in law and this time next year will (hopefully!!!!) have the degree!! (smug). Sorry, had to gloat somewhere as I can't get through to my mum or dh (actually it's s good thing I'm not in labour Hmm) and am so excited.

moomin156 · 10/06/2011 12:44

Merlion · 10/06/2011 12:47
