Congratulations Petitech and welcome little Max! Hope your recovery is going well.

Barbie you sound so fed up - I can only imagine how you must be feeling as I am not even at my due date yet and feeling fed up. Tfry to stay positive. Statistically, the chance of hyou going into labour before tuesday must be very high. Fingers crossed :)

Kara how frustrating for you. All this stop start stuff is a nightmare. Is the mw coming back to check on you at some point to see if it has progressed?

Moog72 · 09/06/2011 09:00

Kara I can't find your labour thread - where is it??

motherofsnortpigs · 09/06/2011 09:01

Well done petitech Labour and then surgery is no fun. I'm glad you and Max are ok. sasa I think I wrote my birth story yesterday morning and it is just after thorny 's. Pretty good night here, although the after pains are horrific - succumbed to codeine. We have deciphered birth notes and conclude that Percy was 8lb 4oz. My biggest baby by quite some way. barbie I'm sorry you're so fed up. I went 22 days over with my first and was still induced. She was well worth the wait :)

curiouselle · 09/06/2011 09:01

Congratulations petitech can't wait to hear more details about your LO, I hope his arrival wasn't too stressful for you?

Sounds really stressful Barbie you really need a good distraction - is someone able to entertain you today? Failing that beat up some medical staff Grin

Sorry to hear about DH's bike accident Joanne what rubbish timing for you to be worrying about him instead of the other way around!

I am not sure who was asking about doing their own sweep (or general exploration ahem prisoner hee) but I was thinking about this, does sex not have the exact same impact - it's sweeping the area isn't it??? Am I being daft or is this not why sex might help bring along labour? If so that's what i'll be doing soon...

I have MW app this morning 38+2 and am hoping baby is not back to back any more, I haven't inched from an ideal positions for 2 weeks now and if it has done no good, will be a teeny bit grumpy! Also might attempt to get my hair cut so I look like a respectable heffalump rather than a wild one!

Labour vibes to those that need them!
Am Envy of those already getting cuddles (and slightly apprehensive)

motherofsnortpigs · 09/06/2011 09:02

moog kara's labour thread is in Chat.

Moog72 · 09/06/2011 09:05

Thanks MOSP

AlmightyCitrus · 09/06/2011 09:08

Congratulations petitech!

Hope DH isn't to bruised today Joanne

Worst night sleep ever for me. Was stupid enough to google the mysterious word on my notes "hydramnious" and succeeded in scaring myself stupid and spending most of the evening/night in tears. Seems it's gone from an easy and carefree pregnancy into a bad dream (of which I had plenty last night). I hate hospitals with a passion. I had to stay in 10 days when DD1 was born and it was the worst 10 days of my life. The thought of being stuck in there for any amount of time being monitored or "resting" makes me feel even worse.

I'm dreading the hospital appointment today. I'm sure it'll be more doom and gloom.

I'm stuck between keeping to together for the kids, and DH being ever the optimist, while being annoyed with me for looking it up.

Sorry for whingy me me me post. I feel a bit sad and lonely today.

moomin156 · 09/06/2011 09:11

morning........congratulations petitech and welcome Max,

heres link to Karas birth thread link

moomin156 · 09/06/2011 09:20

good luck with your appointment today almighty try to stay positive......virtual hugs to you.

well Flo has a tummy bug...........the poor wee thing keeps being sick. no temperature but feeds, vomits, wants more food.........this started yesterday morning, then settled and we had a decent sleep eventually (swaddling is a miracle) and is doing the sme today. its such a shame, you feel reluctant to feed but i know she takes more than shes sick so you have to feed to prevent dehydration.HV coming today so will ask advice.
Typically my mom has treated me to a pedicure this pm whilst she looks after flo........

PrisonerZero · 09/06/2011 09:41

Moomin - I hope Flo gets better really quickly.

Barbie - I really feel for you, I have the midwife today and I am worried she will leave me til 17 days over as I have heard a few people say that they are being left until then lately. I have been looking at the NICE guidelines and they say 41+0 - 42+0 for induction and that they should take the mothers personal circumstances into account. I have been writing them down so I can quote them, not that it will make much difference I think as it is impossible to get anyone to listen at the best of times.

Congratulations on the birth of Max Grin sorry you had a rough time.

I am due today and still haven't sorted my house out Blush I have noticed that I have become very irritable and grumpy, I don't want DP anywhere near me, or even talking to me. He thought he was funny last night trying to wind me up to make me laugh, but I ended up shouting at him and crying for him to leave me alone Shock - why would anyone tease a heavily pregant hormonal woman! I even threw my chocolate at him!! Then he fell asleep on the sofa and snored over a programme I was watching, I suggested he go to bed but he insisted he was also watching the tv. He snored for 2 hours!! I stamped around putting the bins out to try and disturb him Blush but finally gave up and said I was going to bed and he came too. Which really pissed me off as he said he was watching the film. Then he was so tired he slept through his 6am alarm and it kept going off every 5 minutes until I was properly awake and got up. All very trivial but I am still pissed off about it.

I am having Poo problems Blush I feel like I need one, go to the toilet and nothing happens! Any advice?

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 09/06/2011 09:46

Congratulations Petitech on Max's safe arrival. Just remember that emcs is far better than having something terrible happen to one or both of you. take it easy and enjoy your new baby snuggles .

For some reason I keep waking up sweating profusly. It's revolting and after my nap yesterday afternoon I had to change the sheet on the bed I was that wet. It's not even hot!

Sorry for not posting to anyone else. I haven't got my glasses on and am already starting to get a headache from squinting. Thinking of you all though.

NurseSunshine · 09/06/2011 09:51

Congratulations Petitech Sorry things didn't go to plan but well done and at least you've got little Max in the world now :)Wishing you a very speedy recovery

Joanne Hope your DP is alright. I dreamt you had your baby last night :) You are not to have yours before I have mine though, we are due date buddies OK. OK??!

(((Hugs))) Almighty Can totally understand you feeling down. Try not to worry too much, at least until you have something concrete to worry about :) Really hope the appointment today is positive

Hope Flo gets better soon Moomin

Barbie :( Can't believe they are talking about leaving you till tuesday. I thought they only wanted people going 14 days over, max? I would be on the phone to the consultant, MW, whoever. Really feel for you

OP posts:
NurseSunshine · 09/06/2011 09:53

(((Hugs))) to you too Prisoner. And happy due date :) Hopefully it won't be long for you now. Not surprised you're annoyed at DP, I would be too. Make him sleep in the spare room if he carries on like that again today

Joannezipan · 09/06/2011 10:08

Congratulations petitech!
Moomin Sorry to hear Flo is ill - poor little mite.
Almighty Sorry you are having a tough time of it. Hopefully everything at the hospital will be okay today.
Kara keep it up you are doing amazingly well!
Barbie I think you should go and camp on your docs doorstep!
DH is fine, he got checked out at the docs this morning and has been given some super strong anti-inflamatories to take the swelling down. He is staying home today and the police are coming to take his statement this morning. Hopefully they will be better than they were with you TTL! No baby news to report except some really big cervix pains last night. Today i am going to do lots of bouncing on the ball to encourage the little blighter baby downwards!

Joannezipan · 09/06/2011 10:11

x-posts Nurse okay due date buddy it's a deal! - we need a secret handshake or something :o

8rubberduckies · 09/06/2011 10:55

Phew that just took me half an hour to catch up on the last 24 hours of posts - and I refreshed the page and lost all my notes Grin. So, not the big long list of individual shout-outs I planned but I'll do my best to remember most of you, as I'm damned if I'm going through them all again!

Petitech Congratulations on the birth of Max, hope you are recovering well, Max is one of my favourite names by the way!

Thanks for your birth stories Sasa and MOSP, I love hearing them, can't wait to hear more Smile.

Jasmine I would be making a fuss. Surely there is back-up in place if your midwife is on annual leave or booked up? You need an appointment, and that's that IMO.

Citrus sorry to hear you're going through so much uncertainty - I hope you consultant appt today makes you feel better about everything. I also had to stay in hospital for 10 days after ds born - it was horrendous. I'm sure it won't happen this time for you.

Barbie please hang in there! I really feel for you. Are you getting any monitoring?

Joanne glad to hear DP is okay. My friend's husband was knocked off his bike recently and broke his collar-bone - another hit and run and the police did nothing Angry.

I don't think my brain can stretch to remembering anyone else's posts - sorry if I've missed anyone. I am going to get some cooking done today hopefully, and a little sleep Smile.

knackered76 · 09/06/2011 11:24

Morning all,

Sasa Congratulations on your little girl :)

MOSP Hooray for the safe, if a bit very painful, arrival of Percival :)

Petitech Congratulations on the safe arrival of Max Grin. Sorry you ended up emcs but as has already been said better you are both safe and well :)

Barbie :( Boooooooooooooo :( :( :( And that's just how I feel at 5 days over! The only plus I have found is that people are no longer commenting on my size but how am I coping being over. Quite a refreshing change after being told for months how big I am! My induction is set for next thursday and they won't move it (not that I have a reason for them to really, well none that they take seriously anyway). I'm keeping myself going with the knowledge that by next weekend I will have a baby!

Joanna Glad dp is okay. It's the one things that terrifies me whenever dh goes out on his bike. Has your dp got a camera for his helmet? I saw an internet article on them and they are quite good for using as evidence against drivers who drive dangerously.

Prisoner I bow down to your ability to do that Grin I have lost the ability to do anything that is lower then half way down my bump!

Banana Glad you had a better night and were able to calm yourself down quite quickly :)

Almighty Hope today goes okay for you at the hospital. Other people just don't get it, unless they happen to be pregnant themselves. It's totally natural to want to find out what's going on and be worried about your baby. I haven't looked it up but I'm sure you'll be in the best hands at the hospital and hopefully they can give you the reassurance you need and answer any questions you have. Everything crossed for a happier ending to your day.

Kara Hope things start for you again but am going to be very Envy as I'm meant to be before you!

Moomin Hope Florence gets better soon and glad to hear the swaddling is working :)

Right, off to take ds to pre school and then curl up in bed for a bit . . . makes the overdue days go a bit quicker if I spend some time being asleep Grin

DaisyFields · 09/06/2011 11:45

40+2 now and still not even a twinge, barbie you are heroic to be being so calm but honestly, I'd start making an annoyance of myself when if I was in your position.

Have had an absolute stinking cold for the past week and just know that I won't have this baby until it's gone, I'm sure mother nature, or whoever, has wiser plans than getting this snotty mess through childbirth.

Hope little Flo is feeling better, that all babies are being good and that our long-term uterine grumblers get a gear-change soon.

And stop poking things up there, if it works I'll be tempted to emulate you and I don't think I have the reach stomach!

KaraStarbuckThrace · 09/06/2011 11:46

Still nothing here.

Barbie - boo that the induction date can't be changed :(

Prisoner - get yourself some lactulose to help get you going.

Sorry to all of you who are feeling fed up, it is awful being in limbo isn't it?

Moomin - sorry to hear Flo is not well, poor mite. Typical bad timing though isn't it!!

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 09/06/2011 12:32

Just saw a thread in pregnancy, full of 31/32 week gone girls complaining about being sick of fat, tired, hormonal etc. I backed out very quickly before I bitch slapped someone with my 38 1/2 week sausage fingered hands Grin

Merlion · 09/06/2011 12:39

Lol confessions.

Petit congratulations on the birth of Max. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Moominsorry to hear Florence has a bug after everything was going so well.

79monica · 09/06/2011 13:38

Congratulations on all of the new arrivals, and I hope that things get going soon for everyone who is fed up of waiting / overdue.

I'm very happy today, Ethan has just been weighed at 4lb 14, a gain of 6oz in 5 days and 8oz above his birth weight Grin. He has been eating so much over the past few days - over 500ml of EBM and formula yesterday not counting the hour of breast feeds which I can't measure, the MW was really impressed. He has even had to move up from "early baby" size clothes to "tiny baby" Grin Grin. Soon he'll be able to wear his newborn size coming home from hospital outfits! It makes the hours of expressing and feeling like a human cow worth it!

Has anyone got anything for their other halves from their LO for father's day yet? I was thinking about getting one of those sets to do hand prints and foot prints so that DH can do that with Ethan.

LisasCat · 09/06/2011 14:35

Prisoner I'm right there with you in having a DP who thinks it's hilarious to wind up up hormonal heavily pregnant woman. Mine decimated my lettuce patch last night. First he had to ask which were the lettuces!!! Then he pulled one up from the ground, which I quickly shouted at him to stop, because I just cut off individual leaves, allowing the plants to continue growing more leaves. So what did the bastard do? Kept pulling them up! While looking at me with a big grin. Even though I was now screaming down the garden at him to stop.

So I got violent. And I think I'm allowed. Git bag.

I still have one more day (and 2 1/2 hours) of work. Can. Not. WAIT!
