Congrats to Thorney!! Glad you were able to stick to your guns so you still had control over things. Is your DH speaking to you now Grin

Barbie - I am beginning to think along your lines, really hope you get going soon. Have you been able to bring your induction date forward? If I am frustrated (due date today) you must be a 1000x more so!!

Still nothing, had a couple of very gentle cx this morning, back ache and pains low down on my abdomen, and occasional wiggles from baby. DH working from home again today so hasn't officially started paternity leave as I thought. Going to see my MW at 11:45. Hoping things will kick off in the meantime!

CMH1stbaby · 07/06/2011 09:09

yay congrats MOSP and thorny!

Sending lots of labour vibes to you all.. I've decided that my tightenings were a false alarm and it may be weeks yet (booo!!!). Am going to try and distract myself today so that I don't go bananas!

PrisonerZero · 07/06/2011 09:14

Yay two more babies! Congratulations to MOSP and Thorny Grin

I am convinced I will be induced as I was with both other DC so would be hugely surprised if I went into labour naturally - DP asked me what contractions felt like and whether I would know if I was in early labour when it happens but I had to say no as both other times I have had gel and waters broken whilst on gas and air and don't remember the details so it would be all new again to me.

I tried sex this morning, but all its done is give me back ache Hmm should've had the extra few minutes sleep instead Grin

I am 39+5 now and already fed up of phone calls and texts asking if there is any sign - I am going to start giving people detailed messages about discharge and poo if they keep asking in the hope that it will put them off questioning me!

Barbie - Poor you 16 days over seems like forever to wait!

Who was it that posted their notes before their message - genuinely made me LOL so thank you!

takethatlady · 07/06/2011 09:29

Grin millie at juice-gate in your house as well as mine, and Grin at notoast too for the phrase 'fanny rummage' ...

nursesunshine I'll join you in the weepy stakes. Been sobbing like a baby because I broke the baby bouncer (Tesco's swapped it though, so no harm done, except I have to build it all over again). But I am VERY cheered up by all the lovely news on this thread!!! mosp I'm glad back-to-back babies can be born with no tearing, and doubly glad you have a lovely shiny new baby boy this morning :) Congratulations! Sorry things are going off plan barbie and taking ages, but look at thorny and sasa - after going backwards and forwards for ages they've suddenly got their LOs :) Lovely story thorny, I'm sure your DP will be alright about it once he gets a few snuggles of his own :)

Wishing everyone with their new babies a lovely day :) I'm off to an exam ...

8rubberduckies · 07/06/2011 09:37

Prisoner that was me, glad I have made a few heavily pregnant, hormonal women laugh in these difficult times...

Congratulations Thorny and MOSP Smile Smile Smile that was a nice surprise this morning MOSP - someone's baby actually arriving on their due date! Grin

Kara sorry things have slowed down again.

Barbie I cannot even begin to explain how sorry I feel for you being so overdue, and I remember it well from ds1 - I hope you get some action soon, and I truly can't believe that even after all those sure signs nothing has started up. Surely you should be chopping up some pineapple and practising your best Shock face? I would be desperate enough to try both if I were you by now, although maybe not at the same time Grin.

Waiting for my Mum to come over to look after ds whilst I go and see midwives. A bit nervous, but kept waking up feeling like I was suffocating last night so need to do something! I am also intrigued as to what position they are going to guess she is in today, as I have started feeling kicks low down again, and her bum has shifted resolutely over to the right hand side.

8rubberduckies · 07/06/2011 09:41

PS Nurse sending you extremely uncool virtual hugs. Just think of all that unconditional love you have in store for you once your little one comes out! I can imagine it is hard without a partner at this stage, but believe me, for every hug I get, my boyfriend also does something that makes me want to wring his neck .... hard Grin. You also get the bed all to yourself without having to kick anyone out of it at 4am [guilty face emoticon].

Merlion · 07/06/2011 09:44

Thorny and MOSP congratulations to you both - lovely news! Names please when you are ready Smile!

Prisoner I was like you so was still unsure when I went to hospital that I was actually in labour.

8rd hope all goes well at the mv today.

Lol Barbie I suppose any day earlier than Monday/Tuesday will be a bonus.

KaraStarbuckThrace · 07/06/2011 10:13

Feeling shakey as have had a genuine NDE Shock

Was eating crumpet, FIL asked me a question, swallowed crumpet then started coughing, grab my water to clear my cough and ended up with an airlock in my throat and then realised I couldn't breatheShock
DH was in the dining room and thought I was being sick, but no I was desperately trying to get air into my lungs, vision started going blurry and felt so scared especially DS who looked horrified Sad DH came in and lucky he did as PILs just flapped, he ended up performing Heimlich maneouvre to get me breathing again. I dread to think what would have happened if he hadn't have been here...

Now have a headache!!!

Joannezipan · 07/06/2011 10:16

Massive congratulations to MOSP and Thorny! :o Thorny I bet you are glad that's over and done with - enjoy your cuddles! MOSP That is one punctual baby! You will have no problems getting that one up and ready in the morning!

Nurse I'm sending you massive ((hugs)) and i 2nd what 8rd said about the bed - my DH has been in the spare room for a good 3 weeks now - he is not a happy bunny, but i'm much more comfortable! Plus there is nobody to tell you off for eating too much chocolate...always an important point to consider!

Petitech I hope things are moving along okay, I reckon if in doubt go in for a "chat" and then refuse to leave!

Barbie Sorry things still aren't moving, but hopefully tempting fate with DH today will get everything going! :o

Joannezipan · 07/06/2011 10:18

x-posts Kara - OMG! I'm glad he was there too! I must admit I was wondering how you do the Heimlich on a very pregnant person! I'm glad you are okay now though. Have a lie down for a bit!

sasamaxx · 07/06/2011 10:28

Omg huuuge congratulations to thorny and MOSP - come on babykara
Haven't caught up on stuff properly as only got home last night, reading/posting ophone is driving me binkers and hqve been really really sleep deprived as yet another night of no sleep last night. Will finally get on a comouter later on to catch up and updqte.
We are fine - I'm in bed watching tiny baby sleeping peacefully (finally lol) x

curiouselle · 07/06/2011 10:39

kara OMG hope you are feeling ok now! I am also concerned about how you do the heimlich on a pregnant person?? Congrats to your DH for staying calm and saving your life!

CONGRATULATIONS to MOSP and thorny it seems we are fair getting through a lot of babies and it is only the 7th!! I hope you are both enjoying the cuddles and feel well.

8rd hope everything goes well today, try not to be nervous!

I am sooooooo tired - last night I think I had 3 hours sleep maybe, I even tried sleeping upright in a chair for a couple of hours but that didn't help! Yesterday was my last day at work and I expected to have lovely sleep and relaxing morning... however was up till late as DH has told me he can't take next week holiday as planned to spend with me and I discovered he was really stressed with work, we were talking about it till after 11, while I tried not to get annoyed that he is so involved and conscientious he always sometimes gets himself into these situations - and we are having a baby!!! Then I was too achey to sleep.
Am well aware that these are minor complaints compared to many and lack of sleep is making me gripey (is that a word?) but I just wanted to be happily nesting not blargh.

moomin156 · 07/06/2011 10:44

Wow......2 more babies, what wonderful news to wake up to. Congratulations MOSP and Thorny
Hope you are ok Kara.....how do you do the heimlich on someone heavily pregnant......??????
nurse lots of hugs being sent your way......i have been thinking of you on your own and can i say on the nights my DH isnt here its actually easier. i get to make the decisions, if i want to let her whimper for another 10min as she only fed an hour ago thats ok, if i want to bring her into bed for sleep thats ok too, noone to worry about disturbing and worry as they have work tomorrow. we have only just woken up at 10am as we had a bad night and at 4.30 i bought her into bed to co sleep ( which is just heaven but DH doesnt want that......). Yes there will be hard times but i love it when its just me and flo.......Dh's are useful for making tea and cooking dinner, and youve always got dominos delivery for that :)

How do you do the Heimilch maneouvre on a pregnant person? With great difficulty!
He had his arms around me just under my bust and was kind of squeezing while I was kind of trying to retch, eventually managed to clear it so I could start getting air into my lungs, wasn't choking as such it was more than my throat had spasm and I couldn't get any air down.

OKay now though still a little light headed and headachey.

Awww Sassamax, glad you are enjoying your snuggly baby at home!

MOSP - did you have SP4 at home? Brain tired!!

Thorny - hope you will be home soon :) Don't you just love that new baby smell

We want more babies!! Hurry up!!

I did have more cx this morning but non since choking incident.

neenewps · 07/06/2011 11:51

Congrats to MOSP & Thorny on your arrivals. Lovely news.

sasa sounds lovely that you are now home.

Have we got names for the latest additions?

kara sorry to hear no further progress on your contractions and

NurseSunshine · 07/06/2011 11:52

Huge congratulations to MOSP and Thorny!! Eeeek two more lovely little babies Grin

Hope you're OK Kara that must have been so scary. At least your DH was on the ball. No more of that, OK?!

Petitech I was told to call when I have 3 ctx in 10 mins. But if you're worried then call again :)

Supersunny Yup I've got a birth plan. It says things like "I would like..." "If X happens please do Y" "I plan to..." etc. I've specifically said not to offer me opiates (if I had to transfer to hospital), said it's non-negotiable and bolded it but everything else is pretty open to change, I've just asked that things always be explained to me. I think it's better to have a detailed plan as long as you know that it might all go tits up because they will try to stick to it as much as possible and they need to know what's important to you.

I am feeling better today :) Things always look better in the morning! I am starting to get fed up now though (can't imagine how Barbie feels :( )

Congrats to MOSP & Thorny on your arrivals. Lovely news.

sasa sounds lovely that you are now home.

Have we got names for the latest additions?

kara sorry to hear no further progress on your contractions and Shock about your choking. Glad you are ok.

nurse I think you are wonderful with how you are doing. I think little wobbles are natural at this stage!

I have had the most horrendous headache since last night. Have taken paracetemol but hasn't touched it. Phoned triage twice and they don't seem concerned. Have advised a bath and to try and get an appointment with GP today. So I am currently lazing in the bath writing this. I really hope it buggers off soon!!!

NurseSunshine · 07/06/2011 12:15

Hope your headache goes Neenewps, drink lots of water. As long as it's not accompanied by sudden and severe swelling you should be OK :)

OP posts:
neenewps · 07/06/2011 12:25

Thanks nurse. I don't have any swelling and can still get my wedding ring on and off easily so I think I'm ok. Just feel exhausted from it. I kinda just want to have this baby now. Girl from my NCT class who is due day before me has just gone into labour today. I'm Envy

NurseSunshine · 07/06/2011 12:33

Grr not fair is it?! I feel the same way, I was feeling very zen about the whole thing and thinking well it'll just happen when it happens but now I'm just ready for it, the sooner the better. Hopefully that means that things might start happeneing soon? Fingers crossed anyway.
Hope you can have a relaxing day, lots of naps should help with the headache

crumbletastic · 07/06/2011 13:31

Woot, congratulations to mother and thorny, looking forward to hearing the new arrivals names.

Also I don't know if anyone prefers privacy with these things but I would love to see some photos of any new babies. I'm on the fb group and I have added a few people as friends but I am unable to add people on my phone so if anyone wants to add me I'm CG.

No chance of any baby pics to nose at on mine for a while though, still nearly 2 weeks until due date and I have not even had so much as a tingle of a braxton hick so feel that baby is staying put for a while yet.

I'm well ready to have a baby now though as I spring cleaned my whole house yesterday. it's stupid where my priorities lie but I was so embarrassed about the idea of going into labour and my PIL coming to look after ds and thinking the house was a state. They are lovely and probably wouldn't even think that but it was a real mess as the past few weeks there has been very minimal cleaning done as I just couldn't be bothered Blush

KaraStarbuckThrace · 07/06/2011 13:47

Crumble - I will certainly be putting pics up on facebook.

Newneeps, poor you! If the headache hasn't gone tonight, have you got some co-codamol? Take some before you go to bed and that may well help shift it.
Codeine is safe in low dosages in pregnancy, just have to be careful as it can make you drowsy which is why I suggest taking it before bed. Had terrible migraines early pregnancy, and this was the only thing that really shift them was taking co-codamol and then going to bed. Keep drinking plenty of water. If you are anything like me, it is probably his rubbish weather that has set it off!

TTL - have you seen your MW yet? Hopefully your chat with her will help your anxieties or at least help you manage them.

Been to the MW, reckon yesterday's contractions were helping position the baby ready to be born as head is well down now. Pretty sure she is front to back with her back more on more right hand side, certainly when I go in the bath, my bump is leaning over to the right.

knackered76 · 07/06/2011 14:14

Newneeps Hope your headache goes away soon. It's so annoying having them :(

Kara Blimey, hooray for DH. What a horrible experience for you. Let's hope now the babies head is right down it may becoming out soon :)

8RD Hope the mw went well today and she managed to help you feel a bit calmer.

I've just got back from mw and am feeling really deflated about the whole thing :( They refuse to induce before 12 days, which makes it next thursday. I know the chances are the baby will come before then but the thought of having to wait that long is really depressing. I felt like the mw didn't take anything I had to say about being induced earlier seriously, such as concerns about a big baby, big head or dh leaving me for a week 4 days after the induction date. Got home, phoned dh and then burst into tears (got to love these hormones Hmm).

Oh well, going to drag my sorry backside to the ball and bounce for a while before I have to pick up ds and his friend.

neenewps · 07/06/2011 14:39

Thanks ladies. I have got an appointment with the GP at 430pm. Not sure what they can do as it really is just a headache but triage insisted on me going to see them!

I haven't managed to join the Facebook group. How do I do it?

knackered what a shame about your mw :( I'm sorry I don't have an useful advice.
