Ha ha. I think I mean dairy

KaraStarbuckThrace · 02/06/2011 08:44

LOL - aww bless. reminds me when DS used his nurse and run technique after I got out of the shower, soon as I sat on the bed, he would be straight over, pull my towel down and help himself!! Then run off, then come back and do it again.
One of his more annoying endearing traits as a 2yo Grin

jasmine51 · 02/06/2011 08:45

Monica - congrats on the arrival of Ethan - sounds a bit traumatic but glad you are doing so well now
Sassamax - hang on in there
Louey & Gillz - good luck today

Poo update (stop eating breakfast right now if TMI but its actually quite interesting). Met up with a GP friend of ours last night and she sorted me out! She felt that the baby was actually putting pressure on my lower intestines, possibly due to my uterus being originally retroverted and therefore backward leaning, and it might help to encourage some bub movement to see if that moved things along. Anyway, I did some yoga moves with her and bub certainly did start thrashing around, eventually flipping over to the right for a while...and the flood gates opened! Have spent a happy night in the loo and keeping DH awake with my farting...feel so much better now...and about half the size!
I dont think DH was too impressed about this type of over-dinner conversation though! Enjoy your breakfasts everyone!

milliemuffin · 02/06/2011 09:14

Morning ladies, good luck to all those having babies today and tomorrow!

My friend who was due 28/6 ie. 2 days before me had her baby boy this morning and I am soooooooooooooo jealous! He weighed 6lb 7 so a very impressive weight for nearly 4 weeks early! xx

LisasCat · 02/06/2011 09:33

Congrats on the 'movement' jasmine, I bet you feel much happier today. There's something you can tell DC about at an 18th birthday party in the company of all his friends!!!!

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 02/06/2011 09:38

Congratulations on Ethan's (speedy) arrival Monica. Sorry it was all a bit traumatic, but really pleased to hear you're both recovering well and are now back home.

Yeah for parents Moomin

Good luck for today Louey and Gillz (Epp more babies! Grin)

Jasmine Hurray for um, movements Grin. Despite my apparent bragging on that front these days, I've had plenty of blocked upness in the last 8 months, so can imagine your utter relief. Guess there's no point telling you about avoiding frut and veg high in pectin now (eg apples and bananas). It's amazing the things you learn when you have kids (yes thank you DS, thank you)

Nothing much doing here. Just huge, tired and alone with DS all day. I predict me trying (and failing) to hide in a corner, sobbing by lunch time Grin

Joannezipan · 02/06/2011 09:52

confessions maybe a game of sleeping lions, followed by some drawing, followed by some cbbies, followed by him doing a bug hunt in the garden, followed by drawing the bugs? And i'm out of ideas for quiet time for mummy activities.

I just found myself dusting behind the radiator Confused it was a very satisfying poof of dust though. Right shower and clothes. DH is going to buy me some lunch in town if i can negotiate the bus. I could drive, but the parking is sooooo expansive it isn't worth it. Last Christmas it was £22 for a day!!!!!! I'm going to look at changing bags, buy my SIL a birthday present, get some cards, go to the library and have lots of sitting down time in cafes too. Bliss! I could never live in the country side!

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 02/06/2011 09:57

Blush we've started the day with ceebeebies I'm afraid, while MN get round to having a shower. We're due some proper sun this afternoon, so outside is definately on the cards later.

Shopping sounds fun. That's my day tomorrow, when DH has DS on playgroup trip all day GrinGrinGrin.

ConfessionsOfAnAchingFanjo · 02/06/2011 09:58

while I MN get around to having a shower.

takethatlady · 02/06/2011 10:00

Woah I have missed so much! Congratulations monica and good luck to the ladies giving birth today - good luck for tomorrow bprincess"! And well done on getting something out jasmine, even if it's not a baby Grin

Really sorry you're feeling down coaaf. Yesterday DH hit me in the head with a curtain pole by mistake and I broke down sobbing. He didn't even realise he'd done it Hmm Grin. Today I have my speed awareness course - lisascat was it you who has one too? I'm going to look lovely with a bruise on my forehead. May try to get a t-shirt saying 'who's the daddy?' and wear that, and possibly a lager can for my back pocket, just to complete the look ...

moomin I'm glad your mum was such a help :)

I had a 36 week scan yesterday (no reason - they're doing a study at my hospital and I signed up). It was lovely to see the baby again even if she was burying her face in the placenta and adamantly crossing her legs so we couldn't get any pictures/check the sex ID was definitely right :) On the bad news front she is back to back. 36+4 so I'm trying to change from my usual slouching posture. I blew up the birthing ball last night but I only have a hand pump and at a certain point the pump starts sucking air out instead of pumping it in, so I can't get the ball hard enough :(

Also I went to see Take That in Sunderland on Tuesday :) They were amazzzzzing :)

curiouselle · 02/06/2011 10:03

jasmine well done on erm.. a job well done haha

joanne I wasn't planning posting just lurking but £22 PARKING, I spent all day Tuesday complaining about £6 parking in Newcastle but £22!!!??!! I can't believe it Shock

good luck gilz and louey and enjoy the sunshine everyone else!

8rubberduckies · 02/06/2011 10:28

Just popping my head in to say Congratulations to Monica, and good luck to you ladies having babies over next couple of days, really excited about hearing from you all! Smile

moomin156 · 02/06/2011 10:30

morning all.....what a chatty lot today already. A little bit of sleep for me, poor Flo is such a windy/colicy baby.........i do feel sorry for her. It sounds so painful.
Kara my sister has a dd who is 10 so its like a first grandchild again for them. They are very good and when i move we will miss each other, but at least dh will be home everynight.
joanne £22 parking, where do you live. we paid £8 in birminghams bullring last week for about 5hrs parking.
jasmine whoop whoop for pooing :)
Weigh in day today with HV, must try to get dressed before she arrives. DHs birthday but we will celebrate tomorrow. He has his first 'to my daddy' card Grin

PrisonerZero · 02/06/2011 10:32

Congratulations on the birth of Ethan!

Good luck to Gilz, Louey and BPrincess - this thread is very exciting now!!

Well done Jasmine Grin

I am 39 weeks today Shock I was just remembering my early posts, being scared of having no symptoms, scared to post just incase, scared of the 12 week scan etc and now all of a sudden it is almost time to give birth - where have all those months gone!?

I have loads of sorting out to do today, I did the boys room yesterday and had a tidy, DS1 will be up there with the vac shortly. He is 9 but very helpful when I need him to be. My room is a tip though, all the babies clothes and stuff are in bags all over the place, some need washing and others just need putting away, it is bothering me that I haven't got it done yet.

Got a busy few days, some of my family are coming round today so a house full of children, and I am going there tomorrow - half term, I need to get out of the house! DP has told the DC he will take them to play golf Saturday morning (They have never played, or shown an interest in golf Hmm) and then a birthday party in the afternoon, and going to my friends on Sunday, she has asked me to be her maid of honour Grin so going to look at dresses - will definately give me something to get back into shape for!

I have decided I love my new next door neighbour, met her for the first time yesterday and she said how slim I was looking for 9 months pregnant Grin - probably because she has 8 month old twins so would have been rather big, but I was pleased all the same Smile

I had a go at sex last night Confused - thought it might get things moving, but it didn't go as planned, it was uncomfortable for me so I wasn't enjoying it and ended up giving up half way through as I ran out of energy. So wont have helped towards labour. Oh, well at least I made the effort, its more than hes gotten for a while so it will have to do Grin

NurseSunshine · 02/06/2011 10:42

Thank goodness for mothers Moomin!

Well done Jasmine and congratulations!

Must've been lovely to see baby again TTL, can't believe it's 18 weeks since I saw mine!

MW's just been, everything's fine and baby's head is finally 1/5 engaged :D She started talking about shows and waters breaking and contractions which was exciting! Now if all of those things could start actually happening that'd be lovely thank you!

OP posts:
sasamaxx · 02/06/2011 10:50

Moomin poor Florence - hope her windiness/colic improves soon.
Do you have a sling? It can really help wind if you carry babies in an upright position in a sling. Otherwise, she will grow out of it soon Smile

Joannezipan · 02/06/2011 11:06

TTL it's lovely to have a scan isn't it. we had one last week and babbit was sucking it's thumb. It made me feel all melty. And my mum squeaked when I told her about it. Right off to town.

moomin156 · 02/06/2011 11:07

sasa no we dont have a sling......but do lots of over the shoulder and upright holding. i have stopped drinking coffee and orange squash to see if that helps but havent changed my diet yet. i love chilli and garlic, hate bland food so dont want to change really. nothing seems to help. Infacol appeared to make it worse, Tried it for 3 weeks, but she seems to be able to burp independantly after her feeds, its all intestinl pain she gets.

jimper · 02/06/2011 12:08

Congrats Monica - how exciting!

Lovely to hear about the movements Jasmine - made me giggle! So hard to keep up with everything that is happening on here!

I had my first UK hospital appointment and at 36 weeks they made me re-do every test that I had had overseas! Even my blood group! They took so much blood that 3 weeks later my arm is still black and blue!

Anyone else have hands the size of watermelons? Mine are huge! Especially when it is hot! They do go down usually, but it is so uncomfortable.

DH is still not in the country - but at least there are no volcano issues! He is back 2 days after the due date unless she makes an appearance before then but fingers crossed she holds out! :) Just so ready to stop feeling so heavy! Good luck for the rest of you! :)

moomin156 · 02/06/2011 12:44

whoop whoop......another 9oz in a week. 6lb 2oz today. makes it all worth while Grin

loueytb3 · 02/06/2011 13:04

Quick update from me - Oscar Joseph was born this morning at 09.46 and weighed in at 4lbs 8oz. We have so far avoided SCBU. Very calm CS, staff were fab.

moomin156 · 02/06/2011 13:08

whoop whoop louey fab news. lovely name and 4lb 8oz is a great weight

neenewps · 02/06/2011 13:11

Congratulations louey Glad it was all calm and that Oscar is with you and not in SCBU.

Off for my scan this afternoon. Post back later.

LisasCat · 02/06/2011 13:14

louey congrats, surely if they've not said SCBU is necessary by now then Oscar must be looking like a strong enough little fella to do this on his own.

ttl yes, I'm the other naughty speeder round these parts. I booked my course for July, but will go online 28 days before that date to reschedule, and keep doing that until I can get a September date (after which they send me to the magistrate's court!)
And more importantly, how were the Pet Shop Boys?

milliemuffin · 02/06/2011 13:24

Congratulations Louey. Glad to hear he's ok xx
