Grin for Twinkles!

Is anyone of the July/August layers having, erm, mucus issues? And I'm not talking about the nose kind...

LadyGoneGaga · 07/06/2011 18:14

Not really, Macca. It's not...plug like is it?

OP posts:
macaroonmum · 07/06/2011 19:56

Nooooooooo! At least, I don't think so. Don't remember losing the plot plug with no1 and I know I expect to be early but this would be a tad too early. Just lots of the white stuff... it comes and goes

CurlyCasper · 07/06/2011 20:03

quite common in late pregnancy macca. I remember it well, this time last year... shortly before I, oh, had a show!

Medee · 07/06/2011 20:41

Go twinks!

Truffkin · 07/06/2011 21:26

Loving the use of 'bloody show' - after reading a pregnancy book when my sister was due my brother is now slightly obsessed with the term so it is use to great comedy effect at my Mom's house. Seriously, a laugh a minute!

Yippee for laying Twinkle am excited for another new ESH bayble.

Loz I hope tomorrow goes well for you and you can feel some chilled outness. I am fairly certain this is far easier typed than actually experienced. Maybe you could pop over to the BESH spa for a nice relaxing foot rub / gincuzzi combo to assist?

Am very Envy of the maternity leavers. I have 107 days left at work but I also have some holiday to take so am just into double figures. AM hoping it does fly by as people keep telling me it will. On the other hand, there is far too much to do before 4th November so maybe it shouldn't go quite that fast.

Ocarina · 07/06/2011 22:23

Oooh, Twinks, that's very exciting. Lozza I hope you're making this into an excuse to be pampered/waited on hand and foot/do nice things you won't get chance to for a while.

I've just realised I start mat leave 2 months tomorrow. This feels at the same time an awfully long time away, but also scarily soon. My sister's visiting at the weekend so we're going shopping for all the stuff TH doesn't care one way or the other about, so that should be fun. Not that I have a clue what I need - any recommendations? - pram and things to sleep in are sorted, albeit needing new mattresses, and I have a KariMe and a few clothes. Surely babies can't need much more than that?

Truffs I'm not sure I ever celebrated the freedom from vomming with you - hope all the talk of evening primrose curry hasn't brought it back.

TH's trip has been delayed by visa issues so he will make it to NCT with me tomorrow, which makes me a little less grumpy. Still not impressed at being deserted for a week, but there's not a lot he can do about it. He keeps offering to take me in his suitcase.....

CluckyKate · 08/06/2011 07:49

S'gone all quiet in here, presumably due to multiple laying.

Rootin' for ya Lozza and Twinks

LadyGoneGaga · 08/06/2011 08:14

You sound pretty sorted, Occy, will think about other stuff you will prob need. How about a baby bath, change mat, chest of drawers to put baby stuff in (one that doubles as a changing area is ideal), a bouncy chair or similar, playmat with overhanging arch for a few weeks old, the ubiquitous muslins, nappies, wipes, cotton wool, breast pads, Lansinoh, bum cream, bedding for cot/moses basket, cellular blankets, cot mobile, cuddly toy...

Of course you don't need all this immediately but whilst you have a willing shopping partner...!

Sending good vibes to Twink and Lozza - is it your second sweep today, Loz? Still no laying from SiL either so also pacing and vibes for her. She's been offered induction at weekend too if still no action.

Truff I found the middle bit after 12 weeks seemed to fly by. Is only now in last tri I seem to have been dumped back into sloooow mode, impatient caaaah that I am. Hope it goes fast for you too. Is the vomming still much improved? Hope so so you can actually enjoy this bit.

Was anyone else tearing up at bitey's lovely offer to take laurie cake - whatever she asked for? I thought that was soooo sweet - the power of ESH et al. :)

LadyGoneGaga · 08/06/2011 08:36

Yes, very sweet.Smile If anyone would like to bring me some cake, feel free. No particular reason though...

laurielou · 08/06/2011 08:53

Alps yes, I was vay touched & so wrapped up in my own cervix I forgot to mention anything Blush How bloody rude of me. Bitey a slab of carrot cake would be nice. And some gin...... lots of gin. Thanking you muchly, x

So, sweep 2 today. The joys. LadyG I feel for your SIL, I really do. I didn't think children were to start giving you grief until they were at least born.

Last night was a strange one (nothing to do with cervix!). I was at the door saying goodbye to my brother when 2 animal charity people approached the door. I farking hate that these people come around. Anyway, brother made hasty exit, then next door's yappy little poddle type dog came running into house (I love dogs, but this is a funny thing), terrified of something & cowered on my hall stair. Lad from next door just ran into my house to grab the dog - not saying anything - & ran from the house. The poor dog was so spooked by something it had peed on my carpet Shock. I just looked at the 2 animal charity guys at the door, looked at the pee on the carpet, stuck my belly out & shrieked "I don't have time for this!!" before closing the door on them & having to mop up dog pee. This isn't normal life, is it?

Any Twinks news?

owlbooty · 08/06/2011 09:52

Any news? Any news?

Am v excited by all this talk of laying. Go Twinks !

Lozza I tend to shriek at charity muggers that turn up at my door even when I am not updiffed, like you I find it really invasive. Massive URGH at the dog pee though. I had to clear up cat vom the other day and nearly added to it when I bent over to mop it up. Hope Sweep 2: The Second Rummage goes well today.

Last night we did baybee handling at NCT. It was rather endearing watching Mr Boots trying to get a sleep suit off a doll and figure out how the hell a nappy went on. All I can say is, it's a good thing Owlet looks set to be a robust little chap. Grin

Occers Have you got a changing bag? A room thermometer? A baby monitor? Urm... massive cheap pants and a crap nightie?

Now where is my carrot cake? Hmm? Hmmmmm? I luff it so.

Ivegotmrbitey · 08/06/2011 11:25

I have eaten the cake Blush and also a welsh cake. Am greedy fatso and evil and -selfish-- with massive ham arms and is all my own fault.

Hope the sweep goes better loz, and no dog pee and chuggers are not normal ilfe. Are you sure you didn't dream it? Although the pool of dog pee in your hall would probably be proof of life!

Exciting news twinks! Good luck!

Orchid12 · 08/06/2011 11:51

Hope MW has her ET fingers on today Loz and manages to do something productive. Clearing up dog pee sounds delightful Hmm.

It's my last day at work today!!!!!! Wooohoooooooooo Smile I've got a half day, so am finishing soon and then going to go to the hossie for an 'active birthing workshop'. The real reason I want to go is to look round the facilities as they don't do tours, and the only way you get to see anything is to book on this workshop thing. I think I have been slightly in denial about the fact I about to have a baybee, going to hossie today may make it hit home a little more Shock.

ginhag · 08/06/2011 12:07
laurielou · 08/06/2011 12:10

Oooh Ocs hope you've had a good last day in work. Enjoy the workshop.

Mmmmm, welsh cake.

OK, in good news I escaped having a sweep. In not such good news its because MW has now decided she isn't sure Bug is head down, & may still be breech. She said lying out flat on my bed she had a better feel. Also I've always felt more movement lower in belly. Thirdly, when she had a rummage in my cervix on Mon she would have expected to feel a hard head as I was 1cm dilated - she could not.

So, am off to hossie in a few hours for an urgent positioning scan. If Bug is head down I'm back home to await labour / induction. If breech, coz I'm so far past due date they may keep me in to either try & turn Bug (if I agree) or sun roof job.

Holy crap! Didn't expect that turn of events when I answered door to MW. So uh, I'll let you know...............

ginhag · 08/06/2011 12:10

Ps I have already begged mentioned this on fb but pleeeease can you follow the link in this Fred and vote????? [princess di eyes emoticon]]

ginhag · 08/06/2011 12:12

Blimey lorry!!!! will be thinking of you LOTS :)

All will be well my lovely. Look I'll even do kisses for you and everything

-> xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ivegotmrbitey · 08/06/2011 12:22

Ooh my goodness! What is involved in turning Bug? What would you be happiest with? You could be meeting your baybee so soon!

ginhag · 08/06/2011 12:27

lorry if sun roof is your decision then lots of us can answer any questions/give reassurance/advise on giant pants as needed. If you want to find me then pm on here (I will actually check this time honest Blush) or thru fb.

Poss stupid suggestion, but I strongly advise taking a really familiar/comforting cd in just in case of cs. Made a MASSIVE difference for me second time round. It's something you 'know' that you can tune into.

Smoooooooooooooooooooooooooch xxxxxxxxxx

owlbooty · 08/06/2011 12:28

Buggering damnit, Lozza - Bug, don't you dare be upside down! Given that MW has teensy fingers I am hoping the reason she cannot feel head is because her fingers are too damn short!!

I have my fingers crossed for a right-way-up outcome!

owlbooty · 08/06/2011 12:29

!!!

ginhag · 08/06/2011 12:30

It will be FINE either way. Promise.

owlbooty · 08/06/2011 12:31

Ps. Ginners that is the most terrifying kitten I have ever seen
