New thread here ladies.

Again, many thanks to Frakk for the inspired title Smile

Do you think this thread will be the last ante-natal one for the April 11 crew? Or will I be the last one standing and having to start a new thread and talking to myself?! Hmm

OP posts:

Congratulations Lis. So happy he's finally here.

frakyouveryverymuch · 01/05/2011 06:09

Congratulations salted - sorry you had a bit of a tough time but the important thing is Millie has arrived safely

Finally! Congratulations Lis! Glad baby Blair made it as an April baby Wink

Good luck to all of you still waiting and even if officially they're May babies you're still in the April family!

JenAT · 01/05/2011 09:16

Congratulations Lis and Salted and anyone else who I have missed out.

I can't believe it's now May!

Good luck to all those overdue and who will now be having a May baby but keep posting on the April thread ,then come and join us in postnatal x

SarahJinx · 01/05/2011 10:33

Hoorah for Lis and Blair, such a gorgeous name, hopefully you're doing well and to SP and Millie, another gorgeous name!

May baby for me too now, 6 days over and spent a few hours in the Labour ward last night with suspected pre eclampsia - got home at 2am this morning. Was very odd, went out for dinner, got home early then got a blinding headache and totally lost my vision, hands swelled up and I was confused and couldn't speak properly, all very scary at the time. Anyway, all tests fine, and they think it was a bad migraine - feel like have been kicked in the head this morning so am inclined to agree.

Hope you all have a gorgeous day and lets hope for the rest of these babies soon!

kittycatcat · 01/05/2011 11:41

SarahJinx · 01/05/2011 17:23

Thanks Kitty Jeez it's quiet in here!

kittycatcat · 01/05/2011 17:50

Do u think they are all of pushing? I had an uncomfortable night. Back was killing. Thought it was starting but nothing doing.

architien · 01/05/2011 20:59

ladies clear waters just popped in the garden. In labour excited not at all scared. Will you pray for baby and I if you are that way inclined?

SarahJinx · 01/05/2011 21:15

OOh best of luck Arch I will definately have some words for you and your precious, how lovely for you.

Ps, love that you popped in the garden x

kittycatcat · 01/05/2011 21:54

Very exciting arch Will be thinking of you

ecuse · 02/05/2011 01:48

Hi everyone. Congrats to Lis, Salted and others I've missed whilst I've been away, good luck to arch.

Just checking in to announce the arrival of another April baby - a little girl, Joanna, born after induction at 7.13pm on Wednesday 27th. 7lbs 3 oz.

Been home since Friday evening and just got a moment to get online and post. Will see you all on the postnatal thread, and post my birth story when I get a moment (short version, though - induction with prostin gel, ARM, synto drip with epidural but then magic 5-pushes-and-she's-out second stage. Second degree tear. Total opposite to my birth plan and hopes but actually surprisingly positive).

And of course I am besotted with my new baby. I'm pretty sure we all think you've got the most beautiful babies in the world, but I'm sure mine must be the beautifullest!

Got the crazy three day hormones yesterday, though - blubbing at everything, both happy and sad.

See you all on the postnatal thread... sending many, many positive vibes to those who are still waiting. I was 8 days overdue in the end, and really frustrated with it. Hope all your babies arrive as soon and safely as possible xxx

kittycatcat · 02/05/2011 02:55

kittycatcat · 02/05/2011 02:56

Hey excuse Huge congrats on the arrival of your daughter :-)

architien · 02/05/2011 04:02

Ecuse congratulations on your beautiful baby :)

Ladies I have news: It's a girl! Rose has been born! Labour was less than two hours, no pain relief or stitches required, all at home so so fast. A 1st of May Beltane baby. Luckily they sent two midwives who were great. There wasn't even time for bath and you wouldn't have guessed it had happened here at all as all is tidy and lovely, not much fuss! :)

Have fed baby Rose and now she's sleeping.

ecuse · 02/05/2011 04:46

Oh my goodness, Arch, two hours? That's amazing! So pleased you got the home birth you wanted, and welcome to baby Rose!

Sassy20 · 02/05/2011 09:30

Congratulations Ecuse and Arch on the birth of your daughters.

kittycatcat · 02/05/2011 10:01

Apologies on the double misspell post ecuse. Damn phone.

Yay, congrats arch. birth sounds fab!

SarahJinx · 02/05/2011 21:24

Oh huge congratulations Arch on the safe and speedy arrival of Rose - two hours is incredible! And also to you Ecuse for Joanna - also a gorgeous name!

Who is still left? Just me Envy .....

SarahJinx · 02/05/2011 21:28

...oh and Kittty hooray!

kittycatcat · 03/05/2011 08:24

Is it just us mow Sarah? I have the midwife at 10.15 for a sweep and I guess to book induction. I'm 40 + 5 today.

SarahJinx · 03/05/2011 09:23

It sure looks that way Kitty. I'm 40 +8 today, my sweep is on Thursday and then I imagine if nothing happens it will all happen at once, bearing in mind how late it will be.

I feel weird about it, desparate to meet my baby but trying to find a balance between allowing it to come when it's ready and not leaving it too late. I've been on mat leave for a month now, which is a pain, and after the initial flurry of 'must get everything ready' I'm now sat around waiting, I've peakied to soon!! Also, I felt 'ready' and now I feel like I should re read all the books, repack the bag, re look at the nursery etc, feel panicky about the birth and looking after a baby now, whereas before, I didn't.

Do you feel like that?

SarahJinx · 03/05/2011 09:24

Sorry, good luck with the sweep, let me know how it goes. I'll be thinking of you x

kittycatcat · 03/05/2011 09:30

I'm the same. Been off 5 weeks tomorrow and am just impatient to meet him and work out what to do with him!!! I know what you mean re books etc bit I can't bring myself to read them. I've had terrible back ache the last few days and he has been moving almost non stop since last night. Could this be it? Hope the mw has good news as I really don't want to be induced.

Fingers crossed your bub comes before Thursday.

X

LittleMilla · 03/05/2011 09:39

arch and ecuse a huge congratulations to you both.

Kitty and Sarah I am still here! 40+8 too! Feeling EXACTLY the same as both of you. Been off work for 5 weeks. House is pretty much OK and I am sick of thinking "better tidy up in case it's the last chance". However, I am goign to try and do a bit this morning - just put vacuum around and put a couple of washes on.

Yesterday was a particularly bad day and I am determined to be more upbeat today. Got sweep booked for tomorrow and induction on Friday. Going to try and get a cancellation this afternoon and then be cheeky to see if they'll move induction forward a day too.

kittycatcat · 03/05/2011 09:43

Hi littlemilla fingers crossed for you too :-)

I'm going to colour my hair and do the ironing later I think. Can't be bothered though!
