New thread here ladies.

Again, many thanks to Frakk for the inspired title Smile

Do you think this thread will be the last ante-natal one for the April 11 crew? Or will I be the last one standing and having to start a new thread and talking to myself?! Hmm

I'm 40+3 today and fed up. Absolutely no sign of the baby shifting anytime soon. I'm not even sure that I've had any braxton hicks yet!

I'm also driving myself mad with worry about baby's movements too. Is baby moving too little, is baby moving too much, why isn't baby wiggling etc...argh!
We don't even get a sweep until we're 10 days overdue in my part of the world, so rather fear that I might be in for the long haul...

SarahJinx · 27/04/2011 11:24

Am with you Starshaped don't know where you are but 'policy' here is nothing until 7 days overdue, I'm booked in for S&S next Thurs (which will be +10) although if I get desparate they'll do it on BH Monday.

No Braxton Hicks, no show, no nothing except for a tremendously active baby - Ouchy! - and spd meaning nights are getting progressivly worse. The absolute worst thing though is the waiting, feeling like it's never going to happen, getting panicky and feeling all a bit teary about it I think, am so over the starting ML/getting everything ready peak, it's untrue.

Upside is that we're all getting babies, at some point!

LisMcA · 27/04/2011 13:32

Well I thought I was in labour last night. Aching all day then sharper pains coming and going at 10-15 minute intervals from about 11pm. Wentt o bed and 3am and they stopped. Boo! I am however confident that my Bishops score will be higher that last week. Lots of cervix type pains and bumhole pressure.

Arch hope the accupuncture works for you.

Thanks for the best wishes for tomorrow. I'm hoping I'll be able to keep in touch via my phone, but it is very slow.

ILTMIMI are you still with us?

LittleMilla · 27/04/2011 16:33

Hi all,

Just back from MW appt where she did a sweep. All went well I think - Bishops score was 5. Is that good? MW seemed to be very enthusiastic that things are heading in the right direction...but we've booked another sweep for Friday.

Lis sorry to hear about false alarms, so fricking annoying!

Sarah your call but I found the sweep OK. Not the most pleasurable experience...but alright TBH. Maybe see how you're feeling by Monday?

Also...we're not just going to have babies soon. But at this rate, we're all going to have big fat chubby lazy babies! Sincerely hoping that this early sluggishness means that my baby might be lazy on the outside too!!

xx

LisMcA · 28/04/2011 01:32

Just checking in before heading to bed.

Thanks for all the good wishes! It will all be fine I'm sure! I guess I'll see you all on the other side!

architien · 28/04/2011 03:33

I'll be thinking of you Lis

LittleMilla · 28/04/2011 07:35

Morning all,

Well, Sweep hasn't prompted anything. Went to bed feeling quite sore (lots of cramps etc) but managed to nod off and now feel normal.

Another day of distraction awaits...!

Any news from others?

kittycatcat · 28/04/2011 08:41

Nothing here. My sweep did nought too. Had a slight back ache yest. It's my due day :-)

SarahJinx · 28/04/2011 09:06

Morning all, happy EDD Kirtty and good luck to Lis, will be thinking of you lady, get it done!

architien · 28/04/2011 09:20

Results from acupuncture experiment: I felt so sleepy and slept almost the afternoon and apart from one loo stop at 3. Best sleep I've had in months! This morning is sunny, I've put music on and decided that dancing about the sitting room with my toddler and just enjoying this time is on the menu today :) Come on babies it's lovely out here!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 28/04/2011 12:51

Hi all, just a quickie.

Baby Ike was born in water at home at 15:34 yesterday, weighing in at 11lb2oz. Will post the birth story on the post-natal thread when I get a moment.

Can't believe he is here, I was convinced he would be here next week but he had other ideas.

Jaylar · 28/04/2011 19:09

ILTMIMI congrats. Am so pleased that another one of us April ladies got a home birth. I hope it was everything you wanted. Look forward to hearing all about it though I've still not posted mine yet. These babies keep you busy.

LisMcA · 28/04/2011 20:32

Omg what a whopper. Was that you starting off the other night?

Reporting from hospital bed on phone so excuse the rubbish typing. Inital exam had a bishops of 4. So went straight to prostaglandin tab thing. Nothing happening as yet. We may be in for a long one.

Leilababyno1 · 28/04/2011 20:36

Hi ladies,

Congratulations to all who have had their babies!

I am due the day after tomorrow. LOADS of braxton hicks, but apart from that nada... Do BH actually mean anything is happening, or are they futile??

Got a sweep booked for Wed, if she's not here by then.

LittleMilla · 28/04/2011 20:49

Congrats ILTMIMI that is a blummin whopper! Reassuring to hear that you managed it at home and in the water - hats off to you.

Lis keep us posted on progress...really hope that things start to move for you soon.

I've got second sweep at midday tomorrow. Sat here stuffing my face with chocolate...telling myslef that I won't be pg for muhc longer, so I'll make the most of it Grin.

SarahJinx · 28/04/2011 21:36

Well Lis looks like you're getting a royal baby then? Hope it all goes well, will be thinking of you.

And good luck for some movement for you too Milla I go abso nothing to report, not. a. jot.

LisMcA · 28/04/2011 22:30

Still nothing here. Keep being stuck on the monitor because his heartbeat keeps dipping! They say its all ok and he's just sleeping. But I have to keep eating chocolate to wake him up. Shame that!!

architien · 29/04/2011 09:24

Nothing here either. I walked and walked and walked uphill. Lots of stabbing pains, then 5 hours of mild contractions that disappeared! Ah well I'm going to watch the wedding, W was in the same department as me at uni and I do love a nice wedding :)

architien · 29/04/2011 09:41

ILTMIMI my goodness you did so well congratulations and to be honest you're making me have more courage :)

Karoleann · 29/04/2011 10:23

Congratulations natzer and ILTMI I'm looking forward to reading birth stories - its a bit like our own OBEM!

My little Emily Catherine made an appearance at 8.37pm on Tuesday 26th, weighing 7lb 8oz. She's a bit jaundiced so we only got home yesterday evening. Plus the anti-d made me really ill.
Oddly enough my other two had jaundice too so must be a genetic thing.

Induction was fine. Bishops score was under 5 too. Gel at 10am, had lunch and a bit of a john lewis shop then contractions started properly in the Conran shop at 1pm! Waters broken at 3pm, then just kept tens machine on til 7pm, had mobile epidural then at 9cm dilated, after 20 mins of pushing she was born at 8.37pm. No stiches - though i feel as if my nipples may need some soon!

best wishes for everyone xx

kittycatcat · 29/04/2011 11:22

Many congrats karoleann :-)
